So when I went to this place hoping to see the complete umaid bhavan or at least from the outside. The tickets/entry is restricted to the small part of musuem. And nothing else can be explored. Though it's an amazing architectural marvel. I loved each and every detail. Every single nook and corner ( which ever I could see ) can't really say about the Umaid palace hotel though !

Built between 1928 and 1943, Umaid Bhawan Palace is a magnificent piece of Rajasthan s heritage, and a symbol of new Jodhpur. Home of the erstwhile Jodhpur royal family and currently the world s sixth-largest private residence, the palace More

It is a well maintained royal property that still belongs to the heirer of the king. You can enjoy the glimpse of local history of Jaisalmer and family of Late ruler Umaid Singh Ji. The unique collection of cutlery and clocks is mesmerizing. Antique swords and door locks can also be seen here. Entry ticket to the place is minor so one would not mind visiting here. The beautiful garden is another tonic for eyes.

Only the museum is open to general public which is a small part of the palace. This museum has a old video running and some hand made paintings which show how the palace is from inside. You would spend at most 45 mins here unless you want to sit in the garden

One of the largest royal residences in the world, the golden-yellow sandstone Umaid Bhawan Palace is a monument to Jodhpur s gallantry and romance. Guests get a taste of what it was like to live like kings. From rooms once occupied by the Maharaja. From regal pastimes like polo or croquet. From magnificent views of the palace gardens and the spectacular Mehrangarh Fort. From unique themed dinners that flaunt all the pomp-and-splendour of the desert kingdom.

very very exaggerated prices, not at all good for visitors. only good for rich people. if you are only visiting to see hotel then you will be disappointing only to see the back side of hotel. you wont be able to see even front view of hotel. good security but not enaugh. you would only see museum which has maharajas photos only, nothing exciting. food carts available but as usual expensive normal stuffs.

I went there for Dinner on my Birthday, and I can say the hotel is Luxury at its best. Never seen such a beautiful and well built hotel. The Ambience, the hospitality and everything outclasses any other luxury hotel in the world. I had dinner at Risala Restaurant. They even served a delicious complimentary cake and then a round of drinks at the Pillars- An open Cafe. The Experience was amazing overall. And if I had an Option I would Rate it 7 Stars.

A place rich in history. The palace is divided into 3 parts : 1 a museum dipicting the lives of the king's, this is open to the public; 2 a house in which the current King lives; 3 a hotel where each room costs around 25k for a night.

We took the Anniversary package on our 20th wedding anniversary. Those three days were made absolutely memorable by the Royal ambience and the most exquisite hospitality and service of the Taj Hotels. Taj Hotels has its own unmatched standards everywhere and in this palace we experienced the epitome of it.

It is an architectural beauty. It is known as the world's largest private residence. A part of the palace has a museum which is open to the public. With a nomial entrence fee, you get a tour of the history of the palace and also get to see a lot of vintage cars that were owned by the Maharajas of Jodhpur. Palace's Beaux art style is marvelous. Has plenty of rooms and from the palace you get a very scenic view of the complete Jodhpur city (also called The Blue City)

An impressive palace. Major part of it has been converted to a hotel and is not open to public. A part is occupied by the royal family. Only a part comprising of 6 or so rooms are open for viewing. Still it gives a glimpse of the grandeur and awesome architecture and marvel of the place.

Umaid Bhavan Palace lives upto it's reputation and then some.

We loved the experience from walking into the door from warm welcome (Warm smiles and welcome by Manveer made us feel at home immediately and Respect and Love from staff captured our hearts), to toys for our children to "in Room" check in to offering yoghurt before departing (Took me right back to my childhood and nani's house-we were all emotional). Our children are born and brought up in USA and we make a conscious effort to bring them to india and expose them to indian culture.

Staff at restaurant on breakfast took special care of us and packed breakfast for kids as we had a sight seeing of city planned on day. Mr. Jabar , Kaushik and Narendar took special care of us that filled our mornings to a great start.

Musicians that played Santoor and Tabla during breakfast were amazing and better than any CDs we hear generally.

We had missed the tour of the palace in the evening and the front desk staff was gracious enough to conduct a special personal tour of the palace just for our family.

Our 12 year old daughter and 6 year old son both loved the property, staff, food, and attention they received.

Umaid Bhavan Palace was one of the highlights and topics of our daughter's essay and presentation to her class in USA.

We loved every aspect and will return again"

Recently visited Umaid Bhavan Palace. This is partially open for public and the other part is for hotel. The public place has a museum and the antiques were simply superb. This would be one of the must visit places in Jodhpur. Little far but worth visiting. They have displayed vintage cars as well.
