The palace does look good from the outside, be it from Meharngar Fort or anywhere else in the city. It does stand out, mainly due to its Pagora styled dome and the scale of it.

But for tourists there is not much to look out for, only some part of this palace is open for tourists. Inside the palace there is a gallery about the Maharajas, items used by them in daily life like the watches, culinary sets.

Then there is a vintage car display just opposite to the palace, don t miss the Cadillac. Lighting could have been better as you need to peek when the sun is up.

A tourist spot. An architectural delight. It's a royal palace and now a museum. It's a nice place to spend an hour or so with friends and family. The huge garden surrounding the palace is serene and peaceful. Had a lovely experience.

The residence of the descendants of former king of Jodhpur, located near airport and is on a small hilltop.
The palace has a museum showcasing the items like utensils, dining tables, study tables, collection of watches etc which were used by the royal people once upon a time.
It also showcases a collection of vintage cars merely 4 to 5 numbers which were used by the royal family.
Major part of the palace is being occupied by the royal family, part of the palace is converted into and part of palace is a museum.
One can get a picturesque view of Jodhpur city from hilltop.
In all a short visit of half hour to 45 minutes is sufficient for those who are interested in knowing about the lifestyle of royal family

It is a personal collectibles of Raja which have been put on display. Had visited the museum 20 years back and they used to take the visitors to the central dome . The entrance was from the main gate and one could even roam in the gardens. Now a sideways entrance and many of the things not on display. Disappointing

This the second wonderful thing in jodhpur after the mehrangarh fort. It is a combination of indian-western architecture. Built in the year 1928. One can reach here from the bhati circle. Ticket price is Rs 50 for students. A portion of the palace is open for visitors as museum. Rest is the hotel & house of the Royal Family.

In there there is some great vintage car like Royals Roy, Cadilac, Mercedes, Hummer, etc. Must visit this place. The areal view of city can be seen from here which is great. You will able to fighting jets taking off runway from up here if you are luckey.

The grandiosity of this massive structure speaks good itself. Right from the explicit rooms, perfectly maintained verandas, peacocks roaming in the garden area, to the good food, thoughtful service and the overflowing feel and experience of luxurious heritage, this palace definitely makes it to the 'must visit once before I die' destination!

This is a must see location in India. It is such an impressive building which still houses the royal family today and is partly converted into a 6 star hotel. You can enter the grounds for a very small fee and that gives you entry into the museum part of the palace. The vintage cars are fabulous. This grand hotel is not open to the general public unless you have paid to stay overnight or pay a cover charge of $100.00 pp for a drink, tea or coffee. When a new guest arrives the drummers greet them with great zest from the entrance balcony above and is a delight to witness. It must alert all staff to come to attention before the guest exits their car.
The grounds are beautifully manicured however, the public toilets are horrific and this aspect really spoils the sense of grandeur. Well worth a visit to get a better understanding of the history behind this family and their achievements.

Palace looks very beautiful from outside & from a distance. Museum is small & O.K. Outside the main building, few Vintage Cars only but are very well maintained. For both, total time required is 1- 1.15 hr. Staff of Palace is not cooperative. Return Conveyance is a problem and may have to wait for it outside the Palace where no rest shades have been provided for the tourists.

Jodhpur has mainly two attraction : Umaid Bhawan on one end of the city & Mehrangarh fort on the cliff of the other end of the city . In the middle of the town is the market place called clock tower market . The town can be covered in roughly 6-7 hours even when lazing around . So a days trip is enough for a tourist to explore the city .
