Taj Umaid Bhavan Palace Reviews

The palace was built by the king of Jodhpur state. It is built like the Tajmahal in Agra with a sand stone. Now one part of the palace is converted in to museum and in rest of the parts a five star hotel is being run by the Taj Group n in some part the family of the king of Jodhpur resides.
Many films were shoot in this palace. The famous film Mehbooba staring late Rajesh Khanna n Hemamalini was also picturised here too.

A well built palace, excellent room service, awsm view, great amenities, a great place to visit

How I really wish that almost 70% of the palace was NOT converted into a 5 star hotel !?

We cannot see mch from the outside except the vintage car museum which too is in a glass cage without lighting from inside so one cannot really see the cars due to the glare on the glass.....

The palace does look majestic from the outside and the royal family lives in a portion while a small portion is converted into a museum

Dont expect to walk through much of the palace as its a HOTEL !! Very neat and cleanly maintained though.... with the odd Indian tourist with a mouthfull of paan or tobacco spitting around in the garden areas

Hotel fort and museum inside English art. And sort time consuming nice structure

Its a Palace turned into 7 star hotel.
A must visit if one come to jodhpur.

The palace is wonderful , magnificent and marvelous basking in its own glory. You could see the palace standing tall and high from far away. The interiors are awesome. Infact it is the only thing standing tall when you see from the top of Mehrangarh fort. Moreover it is one of the major attractions of jodhpur. So do visit of you are in the city.

Words cannot begin to describe this hotel. Outside of the very obvious beauty you will see in the photographs, i have never experienced service and care from a team like those at the Umaid.

From the moment you book, to the second your trip ends - their number one priority is ensuring you feel like royalty... The "palace experience team" is one of a kind and the ultimate luxury that a hotel could provide it's guests.

It is a magnificent piece of Rajasthan s heritage which everyone should experience once in a life. Stroll through the lush, landscaped Baradari Lawns, see the peacocks or just sit by the balcony of the rooms gave me the experience of how the kings lived. Dinner at baradari with a view of the city and fort in the evening with traditional music being played in front was just breathtaking. There is also a horse's stable at a 5 mins walk from the property where the Maharaja's horses are kept. These horses too are majestic and are used only for the polo matches that happen once a year in December.

The museum and the vintage cars are in the adjacent compound itself, and even the fort isn't that far. There is a vintage tour about the palace conducted every evening, for 45 mins approximately, which one should definitely attend to learn about the history of the place.

Hats off to the entire team, with special mention to a few: who have the magic to give a Royal treatment and at the same time making you feel like a part of their family. God bless!! Can't wait to return.

My family and I were completely blown away by the most beautiful palace in the world. All the staff were so attentive from the time we arrived, during our stay and until the day we left. I have never experienced so much kindness and comfort any other hotel or resort around the world.

We found all the staff work together as a team rather than in silos and this is clearly evident no matter where we were in the palace. From the kitchen to the dining room, pool, front desk, welcome, driver, Jiva day spa, yoga classes, concierge and all room services. The history and tenure of the staff shows how each of the staff also treat the palace and host all their guests like it s their own home and made us feel so welcome.

From the bottom of our hearts we would like to take the opportunity to thank all the staff at Umaid Bhawan Palace!

The Biggest palace in world, only 1/4 open for public, rest taken over by the Taj group of hotels, museum showing the life of the king and ancestors, family of the king still like ves here, worth watching

worst because it is made privatized so have to pay for stay in hotel than only can see the umaid bhawan

The palace is beautiful , only thing is they have opened a very small part of it for general public. You need to buy tickets for.going in . Weekends are crowded and parking can b a problem.

Beautiful palace, specially the vintage cars collection. Totally recommend to visit if you are in jodhpur. The palace was extravagant and the space is huge. The royal family lives in the other half of the palace so if you have only paid for the museum you can't have a look at the other portion. The most amazing is the vintage car collection of the royal family. And they have a miniature of the entire palace which is just amazing. If in Jodhpur this is something you shouldn't miss.

Umaid Bhawan Palace is an amazing palace/museum/hotel located in Jodhpur City. Some part of this palace is a luxury five star hotel run by the Taj Group of Hotels. Half of the palace is home of the Maharaja of Jodhpur and some part of the beautiful palace is used as a museum. In front of the place there is a huge lawn making the palace picturesque. A must visit place during your trip to Jodhpur.

Don't go, only hotel guests have a nice view. You hav to pay 150rs as a foreigner and you don't much for it but a short rather boring history lesson.

Beautiful palace. One visiting to Jaipur must visit to this place. Outside view is awesome. Situated on small hill top. You can find ola or uber to get there. Ticket charges are 50 for indian. Staff or Guards behaviour was very bad. They will stop you for taking images. Must visit car galleries in Umaid bhawan palace.

Built on sprawling grounds of 26 acres, the royal residence is perched high above the Blue City of Rajasthan. Palace itself was good; but display was very limited. Majority of the palace is still occupied by royal family and other part is converted into a 5-star hotel.
