The place is a 5 star hotel and restaurant, but when I was entering in Indian Traditional clothes and I was asked at the entrance "where do I wanna go", while my friend wasn't questioned. I felt like we are living in Britishers time where they forget that what is the dress of an Indian.
All I am saying is its Not good to judge anyone by their dress

Shamiana is easily one of my favourite restaurants in south mumbai. They have everything to offer from excellent cuisine to ambience. The staff is very hospitable and always are attentive to your needs. Their Kheema Pav, Chole, Lamb burger, Rabdi etc are to die for. You cant go wrong with the menu.
Its definitely a restaurant that should be on your bucket list not only for its vast culinary experience but also to experience the grandeur of Taj Mahal Tower and Mumbai in itself at its finest.

Exceptional reception upon arrival. Excellent food and premises. The staff very professional and helpful. The sea view is wonderful. Piano entertainment in the lobby adds to a very relaxed, quietly busy ambience.
I stayed there in a most expensive suite. I felt they don't treat you well if you dont look either rich or foreigner. If you are from india and dont look very rich, their staff will judge you. I felt awkward couple times when I was there because of their staff.
This was my first visit to taj...also any five star hotel... First of all i was too excited to attend reception of my sister here also was a bit awkward as i haven't been anywhere apart from economy range .. But from doorman to waiter everyone was helpful.. Eaven washroom service also was good. First i thought each and every one of them will be having tooooo much PROTOCOLIC.. but no.. All services were as per protocol but the people were helpful in making things easier for understanding.

30types of teas and drinks were available (all non alcoholic as per need of function)
