The rooms , service, food is excellent. It's just that there management is too strict regarding few rules in matters of room allotment. They take the 2pm check in time way too seriously and make u wait if u arrive early.

We stayed at Taj Bengal last week as a couple for one night. The hotel is nothing short of exceptional. It's unbelievably beautiful, with great service all around. Right from the moment you step inside to check in, you're welcome with burnt clay necklaces. Then you're accompanied to the room, and your luggage follows. The room is very nicely decorated, and has a nice green view. We were in a pool view room. I guess the only negative I find is common across all five star hotels, the bed is too soft. While majority prefer such a bed, I personally would like a slightly more firm bed. The entire hotel is very well decorated, and it looks amazing. Whenever we stepped out of the room, housekeeping came in, fixed our bed, and refilled fruits and water bottles. We were absolutely impressed with their hospitality.
Coming to the breakfast, it was mostly an Indian spread with some standard western offerings. My personal favorite was the Baked Doi, which is a baked version of the famous Bengali Mishti Doi. Overall, we enjoyed the breakfast, but not exactly blown away.
Everyone is important.. 1st rule of a good hotel. Parking issues.. more number of people for help should be available outside. Rest is fine.. quite a good place otherwise

Had booked a Premium Suite to celebrate the anniversary of my parents. Was upgraded to the Grand Luxury Suite absolutely free of cost. Kudos to the hotel staff who were working tirelessly to keep the guests safe in the pandemic. In-room dining was average since there was limited options available and some food items appeared stale. Prompt service and staff were eager to help. The suite was maintained properly and the sheer opulence was amazing to experience. Will visit again and definitely recommend it for all and sundry! An affair to remember!
A scenic old Taj hotel that is well kept and well managed. Average rooms. But the property offers an old world charm missing in most modern hotels

The dining experience is enhanced with a beautiful and courteous staff. The hotel has always been a home to the international cricket teams while they played at Eden Gardens. Both history and reputation speaks well in leaps and bounds...
Very good facility and service. But the staff has to be more serious while attending/ serving meetings and conference. They do not care for the noise level raised occasionally while serving.
