We mostly played counter strike during class, fun place.

The school s pastry classes and chef classes are full of racist people. And the teacher will encourage white people to bully students from other countries. The noodle class is to let students work in various ways. The students made a lot of snacks and they didn t know where to go. Basically, people are insulted by tuition fees. It s not surprising that the students of this school took the teacher a little. If anyone wants to spend money to humiliate you and make your life unforgettable, you can choose this liar school. When I first thought about the diploma, I thought that since I had already spent all my money, I had to endure it. But many years have passed, and the taste of being humiliated is still tormenting me from time to time. If anyone doesn't believe it can be consulted at any time.

I went to TAFE to enroll and pay for the RSA course personally and they informed me that it was possible to do the course even though I was an international student. The next day we were already prevented from taking the course because we were an international student. And now they are not willing to refund our registration. It's been more than 3 months, and every time I go, they let me know that I have to wait.

Tafe Queensland is an absolute joke. A lot of staff seem to be incompetent. Every time you speak with someone you receive different, conflicting information. Tafe QLD needs to train their staff urgently!! I don't think I have witnessed more disorganization in my life.

Love working at TAFE Queensland. Have returned here twice now and hoping to stay for long-term. Great team, great work, great outcomes for students.

As someone who got a diploma that led straight into a university course that operates on this campus, it has been helpful but also at some points has been a huge let down in the teaching department where people can learn nothing from an entire years course and others will fail classes over the smallest mistakes and have to pay 700 dollars upfront. Be cautious about what you decide to do here and do your research.

The lack of administration support is quite pathetic, no structure during the enrollment process. I have had to continuously call up after every step that I have completed as I have not received a response within a week. Email templates need to be updated as they do not suit every students situation causing more confusion. I work in administration myself and happy that my team has implemented a streamline process so we do not end up making our company look so incompetent.

Mary Cardboard was my favorite music teacher. She really knew how to brew a cup of tea in the back room while her students did their practice sessions all by themselves :)

Most frustrating and annoying company to ever exist. Changed the order of units for my course, half way through completion which added a EXTRA 3 months on top of my already 12 month course.
Now they have manage to mess up my qualification. I have passed all units however it hasn't been updated on my USI. I have not received my diploma in the mail yet either however my classmate has and we finished at the same time and completed the exact same units together.
Absolutely appalling. Don't get me started on the long waiting times and the clueless staff. Also the pressure they put on their teaching staff is insane. For $5,000 you would expect better

What.a.joke. I apply for a course, get quoted a fee, accept my enrolment on the basis of this fee and then one week before I start study I'm told the fee has changed due to a change in fee criteria! How convenient, it's gone up by $4,000! And what's that? You don't have a valid reason for the price increase. Wonderful. I try and take this further and get some answers but my calls are avoided or not returned. An absolute disgrace and making me question continuing with my study with TAFE.

Everything is close so close workshop rooms, concert and performing spaces, and great eats all in one place. Accommodation, public transport and close to Brisbane CBD for our festival visitors
If the family want a break everything Southbank has to offer with its parklands, movie theaters, restaurants is a quick 5 minute walk away.

This a is an excellent campus. I teach English so am there most of the time. It's location is great, close to Southbank and city. Couple of good coffee shops, (the dugout, and 7eleven, which has good coffee for a dollar!). A new Vietnamese cafe which looks good and is very popular. Other food vendors vary daily but you can always get something. Woolies in Emporium, which is close by. Nona's just across road from Grill'd is excellent also. Good place to study.

With the amount of negative reviews I have to reconsider enrolling better off going somewhere else by the look of things. Hopefully TAFE can improve their education system to rebuilt its reputation.

What a terrible experience. I found out start of semester 2 I had 3 online units I didn t have access to but my classmates did. Found out I was half enrolled when I paid fee in full way before the course start date. I started to panic and fell behind on work.... I was able to get an extension but even now it s a disaster. I live in Toowoomba so I have to travel 1hr30+ to get to Southbank. I email teachers to organise dates for when I can complete my work but they don t reply or ask me to come a day before and it s too last minute. Customer service is a pain in the neck. I could go on and on. Don t recommend Tafe Southbank.

This lady name to be " Emma " the best customer services I ever received. She was very kind and listening to all my problems. She was very helpful. Thank you so much. I highly appreciate.

Timetables are always mixed up, staff are unprofessional and disorganised, most courses are never properly structured beforehand resulting to student drop-outs, formal and informal letter of complaints are never dealt with professionally and the online content on connect is totally overloaded full of outdated information. If you are considering studying a course at Southbank TAFE, look elsewhere. This campus is beyond a joke and is not worth the paper it's written on.

I studied my Diploma of IT here at Southbank institute of Technology and loved the course. The teachers we great and knowledgeable, the environment was open and inviting and the skills I gained from the course have helped me to kick start my career.

The campus was undergoing major upgrades while I was studying here however that didn't impact on my learning or on my experience at SBIT as a whole.

I loved my time here at SBIT.

Tafe is just a shop which is selling student visa.
Their quality of teaching is so awful and they don t support placement at all.
They suddenly changed curriculum program their own way and requested higher tuition.
Teacher s and staff s service are superficial and they act with dual personality.
One of staff even told a lie to me.
Please don t go to the Tafe and you will spend your tuition if you will enroll there.

Great place to Study... Big choice to make but the right choice

TAFE Queensland is the largest, most experienced training provider in the state. The campus is huge and modern. Our students are always very happy with the instituition! And you can choose from more than 50 locations across the state to study! Highly recommended!

South bank TAFE is the best place to study, becaus since I studying I got have full from my teacher and the tutor

Ensure that you KNOW the subjects you have to do upfront. IF your subject is not required then question it if told otherwise. The administration is not organised at all and poorly managed. Terrible Business teaching facility. Corresponace and handling of matters is done poorly and mismanaged.

Lack of communication, disorganised,
cancelled my course at the last moment and did not even give a curtsy call to inform that the class you are waiting for is never going to be start.

Run for profit with no regard for students success. Assignments were obviously poorly rehashed from previous years with mismatched sentences and redundant information etc. Lecturer ignored my emails and messages to get back to me. My class started with about 40 students, only 10 graduated. Reading the reviews on here I think an investigation by the ombudsman is necessary.

Nursing student: The lab facility had a great supply of Nursing equipment but unfortunately the staff to guide the students through the course had their own opinion on how everything operates. The information we were taught was very conflicting which made it difficult for exam times. Placements were very unorganized meaning some students missed out on good opportunities. Some of the teachers are absolutely wonderful, but there were also the ones that were horrible and made you dread coming to Tafe each day. The Nursing Coordinator was bullying most of the Nursing teachers, but hopefully that is sorted seeing as she is not coming back next year. Overall, pretty poor standard.

I wouldn't recommend doing any studies at this campus i heard other campuses are lot better. First of all the timetable changes all the time the teachers are hard to reach out to or make an appointment or even if you do make an appointment they take forever to talk to you. Alot of the teachers from my experience and friend's experience they can be extremely rude and racist. IF YOU DONT WANT TO FAIL BECAUSE OF EITHER THEIR RACISM OR IGNORANCE DO NOT STUDY HERE. This isn't for all teachers but alot of them are. Also they blame you if you dont get into the right course. Even if you double checked with them while enrolling and eveb if they said its the right one but then end up they actually made a mistake and put you into the wrong one. They will blame you they wont even care or accept their mistake and you might end up paying the whole course fee upfront. And these problems happen way too often and they arent bringing in any sort of solution to this which really can be frustrating.

This place is an absolute disgrace! You enrol in a course and can never get in contact with anyone when you need to. When you finally get a reply you have wasted a month waiting.
The worst decision of my life enrolling with them!

Thanks to the silly woman at the front student desk I am now in debt $12,000 and have wasted 6 months of my time because of her false information on a course I took. When I tried to get the money back the guy on the phone told me this has happened to other students as well. They claimed that were wasn't enough evidence to prove they gave me that falsified information and they refused to give me my money back.

Also the bullying coming from the female lecturer in the Dental Technology class towards ADULT students and OTHER colleagues is despicable. Many of my cohort have report her but the HOD couldn't care less. Pick your act up TAFE. Thanks for being greedy and careless, look at your horrible reviews and give me my bloody money back!

Worst TAFE. Lecturers barely help you out and every one wears Idk Povo clothes and all the facilities are so 2007. will be taking my business to bracken ridge TAFE thnx

The staff at this TAFE has forgotten that the students are their paid customers and so they feel entitled to treat them like rubbish. If you are considering a TAFE, do yourself a favour and choose one that actually treats you like a customer. And from what I can see, I am not the only one with this opinion.

TAFE QLD has the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life. The number of times I have called about a number of issues being related, but they don't care, so I give up .

I would not recommend doing your studies with TAFE QLD. Make sure you check, check and double check your enrolled in to your next intake if doing Online courses. Signed up well before the intake closure and received email conformation and told I would be contacted, well that never happened, made several attempts to speak to someone and each time was told to leave a message and I would receive a call back that never happened and now I find out the semester has closed and I wasn't added to it despite receiving confirmation email and now I have to wait 2 months until the next intake!! Very poor when I have to continue to pay childcare fees when I'm not doing anything towards my qualification. No accountability nothing they can do was their answer. It's been a nightmare from the beginning, can't wait to finish to be honest!

Great course, environment and teachers. I really appreciated the class room environment where you could ask questions freely and converse with teachers.

As a nursing student, TAFE has fantastic and realistic nursing simulation labs that help me adapt and get familiar with a real nursing environment. Located next to a bus stop and a train station, everyday travel here is super easy. TAFE may have a bad reputation as it is a backup when not getting accepted to uni, but attending here has really been a treat and I'm glad I got the chance to be part of this wonderfully friendly community.

Trying to enroll with TAFE is the most painful experience you will ever have. The staff are so unbelievably incompetent to the point I'd consider it rude.

It is harder, longer and more stressful to enroll then it would be to complete any course that TAFE offers.

Who has seconed language is english, I'm not recommend to come to TAFE. I had been hard experienced and then transferred to other college.

THANK YOU! Thank you for doing exactly what I expected! What an unbelievable appalling service I have ever received from an education institution! I've even received better from you in the past!
Something as simple as enrolling turned into a pretty much month long ordeal that as of right now, isn't resolved. A technical difficulty that sounds kind of easy (apparently I was told by one of your customer service representatives that it had happened to another student and it was resolved the next day) has taken weeks!
Why on earth you just don't have ANYONE contact me with a progress update is beyond me. I've called, emailed and messaged time and time again just to be told "Oh the administration of that department will have it fixed and be in touch ASAP and it has been escalated", early next week yeah right! Still nothing a week later. I emailed and messaged saying if it wasn't fixed by TODAY (18/2/2019) then I'm done... You can fix your error (which may I add shouldn't have even occurred because I haven't been "enrolled" since the end of September 2018 due to health issues and subsequently failed the subjects) and I will part ways and go through somewhere else.

You've literally lost me (but you don't care seemingly) forever.
Your service needs a major overhaul - peak enrollment periods or not, there is no excuse! It even looks like you don't even have a social media team to respond to posts or messages!

Great place for study, easy acces. Great teacher.....I started as an AMEP student and I really enjoyed my time for study here.

WORST EDUCATION PROVIDER. They mixed up my enrolment when I first signed up. They mixed up my schedule and classes (repeatedly over 2 semesters). They send me an email 3 months after I've made payment that I am owing them late fees. Teachers regularly cancel classes and some are abusive (even members of public have noticed). When there are classes the level of education is higher if you have enrolled in a 3 days training program than TAFE. Highly incompetent and too expensive. Over the year that I am here I only learn how to deal with bureaucracy instead of learning Hospitality. Their practices are blatantly incompetent and if this was in a private education provider, the amount of complaints from ACL they would get would be monumental. Internally, the staff departments are riddled with incompetence, politics and fear mongering to be able to deliver a decent job.

While their nursing program was great and has properly prepared me to work in the industry, the way they run things needs to be improved significantly. Our Vocational Placement Facilitator during our first 2 semesters kept harassing us about submitting our documents on time, and yet doesn't see a problem with leaving it to the last minute where we're going.

As soon as classes have finished, my classmates started receiving their diplomas through the mail. Knowing Tafe, I told myself to be patient and wait as my name was probably just at the bottom of the pile. 6 weeks have passed and I still haven't received anything. Then I received an email from QTAC saying that the major offer round is coming up and they still haven't received my transcript. This prompted me to ring Tafe and it was only then that I found out I've got an outstanding balance of $42.00. I didn't even know what it was for. I did not receive any invoice for it, I wasn't told anything about an outstanding fee that I could easily have paid for if I knew about it. I have a Graduate Program commencing in mid-February and I'm also applying to do my Bachelors. Both those are now in serious jeopardy just because Tafe can't get their act together.

I am seriously disappointed and would not recommend Tafe to anyone. You can acquire the same knowledge anywhere else, but they might not be as poorly run as Tafe.

I was told I only had one unit to study. Towards the end of the year, two weeks before graduation I was told "oh, sorry, we made a mistake, you have 5 units to study." Now I can't graduate this year. I have to wait another 8 months before I can graduate....all because admin don't know how to read academic transcripts properly and yet are allowed to advise students on how to proceed with their studies.

TAFE QLD is akin to a scam, do not go to TAFE QLD, you're better off getting a traineeships somewhere or just doing certifications with anyone else, all your money will just go to underserving management.

I feel my facebook comment was deleted. I don't like this campus at all. I was thinking of enrolling as a student but when I walked into the student enquires area they place was packed with students (waiting) and only 2 people serving. TAFE was never liked this when I went in 1980

If I could rate this place half a star, or zero stars I would. Stay as far away as you possibly can. They will allow you to enroll into a course, change it half way and then give you zero credit or recognition of prior learning for your subjects already completed. They also blatantly lie about it when you take your complaint to the public Ombudsman. Wasted time, wasted money on course fees.

It is quite obvious that no one of account reads these reviews or if they do then they do not care what people are saying.
I have been studying through TAFE Southbank for a number of years and have to say the teaching staff and customer support staff (if you are lucky enough to actually get to talk to someone) overall have been great as are the facilities.
I suspect that my complaints are not directly the issue of the particular campus at all but a systemic problem with TAFE at a state level.
Firstly the customer service contact system to be brutally honest is a joke.
The options given when ringing the 1300 number might make up 20% of the potential reasons someone is trying to contact TAFE for and there is no option to speak to a customer service officer.
When you are on hold there is a repeating message about a TAFE open day in August (it is now the end of November) so they are either very late or extremely early in their advertising.
Many things that existing students are trying to resolve could be done through the student self service portal but TAFE in their wisdom, I am told took that system down over a year ago to replace it but the new system is still not functional.
Timetabling for classes also gets a fail from me. TAFE no longer caters for part time students as it once did. During my studies part time students were being put in classes during the day while in a number of cases full time students got the evening classes. People study part time to fit in with their full time work. I even had the experience on more than one subject where there were not enough computers for the enrolled students in higher level computer based classes where sharing was not an option.
As I said at the beginning of this rant, I have always found the staff (teaching and support) to be great. The background systems however are a failure.
And none of this review is going to matter because the people who can drive the change to fix the systems either don't read the negative reviews, or just don't care enough to do something about it.

I have studied Diploma Of Laboratory Technology in TAFE. The only thing I'm doing as a qualified laboratory technician is working as a dishwasher in a busy restaurant and tradies with no qualification are working in labs. Poor support from the TAFE, I asked my teachers if they could be my reference to find a job but they didn't even answer my email. So disappointed with this course and TAFE qualification, and their poor support or better to say no support. As soon as you finished they give you a piece of paper and you're on your own. Don't waste your time there. Specially the course I completed it.

Applied to online enrol Online via wesbite January 8th twice. Been trying the last two weeks to get a hold of someone. Requested a call to be told they couldn't see that I applied and I missed out but would consider if I sent in the required documents. I had to deal with 6 different people by sending these in countless times with everything stated in the email. I completed the test (which states is to show where support is needed and its called a tutorial) I received an email saying I didn't pass the requirements in the "test" failing in both when I didn't. It was more the service I received. Very disappointed. Please fix your system.

Some Admin staff are rude to international students, confuse whenever u go there and require anything-disorganized!!!
only some teacher are experienced and willing to help going to class is somehow wasting time, what you asked to submit is not related to class-real self-learning !!
Tafe only know how to present their slogan and vision beautufully, totally not believe students have good experience there, just urge you choose another pathway

I studied Fitness here in 2015, the teachers have a false sense of self-importance and are bullies. At the beginning I thought the teacher's exchange of words with me were just pure Australian slightly racist banter, but later on throughout the course it became more and more evident that I was a victim of bullying. It became so obvious that the teacher wasn't even trying to hide it anymore. The reason why I knew I was being targeted was because I always keep my mouth shut, I listen and take notes, I was the embodiment of the ideal student. Everyone in the class were talking amongst each other so I thought it was okay for me to chat to some friends, the teacher then stops everyone from their conversations, then brings everybody's attention to me and just insults me in a degrading and unjustified manner. I was humiliated and so I didn't even finish the course and just didn't return to future classes. The teachers here are bullies.

Poorly organised (assessment was still being edited a week from due date), documents handed in regarding the payment plan was lost, among other things. Came to TAFE to learn, found that it is solely focused on the piece of paper received at the end, regret wasting my money here, but cannot get a refund... Wish I had believed all the other reviews before applying here...

Studied Nursing here...was not a good experience at all.

Love the tafe, I got a good gym workout then when to the cinemas after I completed my Friday courses.

Unfortunately very bad customer service and not good for the reputation.

Incompetent and very disorganised. I went to enroll in my course and found out, 3 weeks before graduation, that they had not put through rpl's, and I ended up having to do 4 subjects that I didn't really need to. That means I paid over $3500 for no reason and now they say it's too late and will not give me my money back. I seriously hate this tafe with a passion. They did the same thing to 2 others in my class.

The enrolment process is absolutely dreadful. Everyone who we ve received on the phone has either lied or hung up on us.

Great facilities and access to public transport. But It is too expensive fee(international student), unorganised courses, low quality of class and teachers. If you want to learn something, better chose other way.

Great experience, studying at tafe is like nothing else

I am a full time student and I am working 5 days a week. After I read through all the one star comment, I totally agreed some of the points such as enrollment is a nightmare, staff is lack of training, unorganized......etc. I did and still getting through all of them, I even get told if I want to ask for the next semester timetable, I should ask before the last semester ended. One of the comment said this campus is a hell. Well, try other campus and you will know what the hell is "hell" means. Yes, campus get paid and they should do their job but as expected they never do, so what? To be honest, this is how the real life is. This is a TAFE and what are you expecting from a TAFE? You want good services go UQ Foundation then. I still giving a 5 stars rating because apart from the course knowledge I did learn how to deal with the real life. The achievement of surviving and passing all the subject every 18 weeks in such environment is greater then graduating the whole course. No one can arrange for you better than yourself.

Over an hour on the phone AGAIN to sign up to my new unit.... which i have to do every 2 units.....unfortunately this time my course cant EVEN BE FOUND!!!!!!!

Please train your staff. Just from the amount of time i have spent on the phone (in some instances longer than its taken me to COMPLETE a unit)
