Tabbuli's is definitely a casual spot for a quick bite and basic cocktail. They only have outdoor/patio seating so depending on what time of day you go and where you sit, there are flies and/or mosquitoes to contend with. IMO the food is great, and is what brings me back for repeat visits. Each server we've had has been wonderful too. The restrooms on my visits have been pretty dirty and need more attention.

I wanted to ignore some of the poor reviews lately since there were plenty of good reviews but unfortunately we likely don t visit again.

Service: In contrast to the other bad reviews , I will say that the server was very nice and attentive but I don t believe she typical works the floor and likely just works the bar. There were many errors in our order. She was extremely apologetic and even gave us some discounts, though even those took two times to get right on the bill. But it wasn t like they just pushed aside that the quality of service was lacking and acknowledged their mistakes.

Food: The food was good which is the only thing that keep me from giving this an even lower review. I had the classic gyro. It was delicious but I ordered it with no onions but it came with onion. My wife orders a salad which never came and then when it finally did it was completely not what she ordered. The grilled cheese for kids comes on a pita not regular bread but no complaints from our daughter. The kids pizza is also on a pita and not a traditional pizza.

Timeliness: There were only 4 other tables being waited on and it took almost 40 minutes to get our food. We don t know if they can only prepare one table at a time since that is definitely the order it came out with with time between each one as if they finished and order then start the next.

So in short, the food was good but the service just wasn t what you d hope for not being busy at all.

Wonderful!

Wonderful!

Just flew in from Baltimore and happened to stumble across this hidden treasure. Met Ish and Joyce who were just full of life and personality.

Food was great and so were the drinks. It s been quite awhile since I ve actually enjoyed a health conversation with complete strangers.

Definitely recommend stopping in.

Beware travelers. My wife and I were visiting Charleston from out of town and came upon Tabbuli. Our first impression was that the service was bizarre: there were a ton of wait staff, seven or eight, standing around, talking loudly. There was loud country music blaring from some radio station. The owner or manager was pacing around with a cell phone stuck to his ear.
But the food is what counts and it was close to awful. We ordered falafel, the masabacha, and the fatoush salad. The last was overdressed, and yet, incredibly, had virtually no flavor, but it did include small pieces of pita that were hard as gravel. The chef's fear of salt continued with the masabacha, which is hummous with chick peas, pine nuts and warm pita--flavorless. The pita was cold and spongy, there were no pine nuts, and the chick peas were overcooked as baby food. I've eaten hummous in Detroit, NYC, Minneapolis, and Saudi Arabia, and have never eaten one this bad. Clearly they used canned chick peas, very little tahini, and no lemon juice or salt. Again, baby food. The falafel were OK, but I think it was a boxed powder.
This is a place that looks as if the owner wants to appear on the cutting edge, has sank a ton of money into the surroundings, but doesn't care about the most important part of a restaurant--the food. We wasted one night of a vacation here--don't make our mistake.

Would have given a 5 but I had nowhere to sit! so we couldn't get hookah but we got drinks instead. It is such a fun atmosphere just try to make sure their isn't a show going on because it gets crazy in such a small area.

Tay was the worst server I ve ever had. She took my ID twice even tho I am 23 and I watched her serve her underage friends. She made me feel very unwelcome and I will not return because of the awful service.

Do not go here for food. 1. They charge for $1 for bottled water on the weekends without warning customers and refuse to take the water back once they set it down on your table. 2. Their portions are tiny. 3. Their baklava is not baklava. It tasted like a chewy cinnamon granola bar. Really unsatisfying experience and waitress did not care about customer dissatisfaction. Won t ever go back.

I haven't been to the place, but I was reading the reviews and have seen a couple of nasty ones left by a couple of nasty people without having been in the place.
I believe it is a nice place and the food must be good

$5 cover charge for awful beat drops and epilepsy inducing strobe lights that didn't match the music. 45 minutes just to get overcooked food from garbage containers out back. $1 for unlabeled bottle of water (seriously, they charged this on the tab). Won't be coming back.

Gay night is dope. Hookah tastes good but is overly priced. Food sucks in my opinion but that's never why I go there. Drinks are meh...itll take a bit to get drunk with these light pours.

Ive been coming here for years. Today I came with my pups which I usually do, at 8pm. I was told they don t serve water for free after 8. I ordered a hookah and food. Luckily they served water to my pups. Very disappointed

The cashier was awful, you shouldn't have guys as bartenders there. The guy had no polite manners and was extremely rude to me. However the women at the door was professional as well as the security.

Went for my birthday. Our server (Cece) was very nice. She made my two children feel so welcome. Bringing them crayons and making a makeshift bubble blower to keep them occupied so the adults could enjoy the meal. Will definitely go here again for the nightlife.

Avoid like the plague. My friend and I took a spur of the moment trip to Charleston (a 5 hour trip) and a friend who lives in the city took us to this place. It was cool and fun (even though the drinks and hookah were overpriced...at least compared to where I'm from) until we got our bill. I had two small drinks ($6) each and my friend had a large drink ($12) and another specialty drink ($10). The waiter, who couldn't understand anything we said the whole time, came by with one check totaling up to about $37. I told him to put the two small drinks on my card...he said okay (which he obviously didn't understand seeing as how he charged my friend and I both $20). My friend left him the $5 bill left over from the $25 he gave him for his check (would have been more if the service was better) and we got out of there. I left NO tip on my card, only the cash. We got out of there and then after checking my bank account two days later, I see that I have been charged $25. I call and speak with a girl in the restaurant who was very nice. She said she would have the manager call me back. Enter the queen $&@*% named Lauren Talley. She told me that I had a regular drink and small drink. After explaining the entire situation to her she kept saying that I was wrong. Believe me, I WISH I had a large drink and a small. She refused to listen to my story and said that she has my receipt where I signed it and, here's the kicker, left a $5 tip on the card that I know I didn't leave. I told her that I did not leave a $5 on the card and she rudely told me several times that I did. I said "you don't think it's possible that the waiter wrote that in himself after I left?" And she said most certainly not...because you know NO ONE does that or anything. I asked her to take a picture of it and send it to me. She told me that she would scan it to her corporate office and have them contact me about it because there's nothing else she can do for me. If someone high up is reading this, you might want to find a new manager because this girl is a real piece of work. I've worked in the service industry and I was taught that the customer is right. Instead, she basically insinuates that I'm a liar. Believe me, if they didn't overdraft my account with their random $5 "tip" that I didn't leave, I wouldn't have even bothered with calling about the approximate $10 that I overpaid. So, thanks to the incompetent waiter who doesn't know how to properly seperate a check, I'm being treated like scum. I'm still waiting for their "corporate office" to call me. I'll make sure to contact the BBB as well. Thanks for ruining my trip that I desperately deserved!

I really liked this spot.. had the hookah, good music, cool people, good music.. didn't get to try their food since the kitchen was closed but def will next time.. had their fish bowl and it was good, I think they should put it in a different bowl, I could be wrong and willing to admit that, but I think I was tasting the bowl with the drink..

I've been here before and liked it, this time I came with my inlaws, husband and sister in law. We ordered two orders of wings, which were too salty and cold. Two Moscow Mules, two beers, and a hookah. They brought the drinks and they messed up my Moscow mule, said they would fix it and I didn't receive a new drink. We waited for 45 minutes, and didn't receive a hookah. So we decided to cancel our order of a hookah and my drink, and closed out our bill after we waited around 45 minutes. 2/10.

Mediterranean dip platter was pretty good. Loved the ambience with the fountain in the center. Really good dj, dance music. And good hookah. Had a fun evening and would go back the next time I'm in charleston.

I'm so in love with Tabbuli! Everyone is always so welcoming! And the food is always made to perfection. Steph was our waitress this time and is awesome! Very attentive and friendly and accommodating.

I was sort of afraid that I was going to get sick from eating here, the place was dirty almost to a point where we were ready to just leave. The waitress was totally unresponsive and slow (there was hardly anyone in the place). I ordered the smoked chicken wings for an appetizer only and they weren't bad but nothing special. I would not go back here

Where I should start... I went there with my family on Sunday evening we loved the place the atmosphere was good The waitress was new and nice... BUT the food was less than average.
Most of the food we ordered has no taste (Masabaha and the tabbuli)
The guy who was working in the kitchen messed up my wings order.
I have been to hookah Lounges in too many places in Michigan, Washington DC, North Carolina and Miami Florida. The Hookah I had here wasn t good enough It has weak flavor not worth my money.
I would like to come back to this place again after the owner does some improvements.

Great spot for good hookah and light bites. Outdoor seating which I'm sure is great in warmer weather. But they do have lots of heat lamps for the cooler evenings. Would definitely check it out again next time I visit!

This hookah lounge would be even better if they had some more fans. It was just way to hot. They had just one fan to try and cool off just one area. And they need to get another DJ. How can you have ppl come spend their hard earned money and can t even enjoy a variety of music. The Dj was very nasty, and he needs to find another job. He s not there to please himself. But the ppl that come to hear music. Other then that. It was ok.

This is the worst hookah place I've been to in the US and believe me i might have been to hookah lounges more than anyone reading this review right now, Los Angeles , San Diego , Las Vegas , san Antonio , dallas , Austin , Houston , Orlando , Kenner, Tallahassee , Phoenix and im sure i missed some , guys who make the hookahs here doesn't know anything about hookahs , no smoke no taste hard pull .. burns after 5 minutes of smoking and if you want to explain to them what's wrong with the hookah they become defensive and then i stepped on to help them or (teach them how to make one) they refused and they told me it will be 150$ if i touched or played with the hookah , and that hookah alone is for 30$ .. i don't mind paying put i like to get what im paying for .. , i went the other day hoping for better experience but it was worse , drinks are good though but i came for the hookah

After waiting 45 minutes for my food, I was served a lamb kabob that was so overcooked I couldn t take a single bite without feeling like my teeth were going to fall out. They charge $1 for a bottle of unlabeled water, without any sort of disclaimer. Thankfully, the manager was kind enough to cover my girlfriends meal, but no one in the party enjoyed the food. It s certainly not authentic Mediterranean.

This Place is terrible. When I went here a few weeks back there were only a few people. You would think the weightier could handle taking orders for and serving those people right? Well they couldn't, it took them for ever to come to us so we could order, after we ordered we waited about an hour and when the food still hadn't come we left. Just walked out. We came back later to see if the food was done, the weightier said "She Forgot to put the order in" I hope everyone will read this review and go elsewhere. If i could give it 0 stars I would. Literally the worst place ever!

I owe this to society. Service was good, sadly, the food not so much. We stopped in here because there was not a wait....we should have picked up on that clue. But, what were we expecting from a Mediterranean, BBQ, Hookah bar?? Nobody in our party ordered anything from the BBQ menu, but rather, all of us ordered from the Mediterranean side. Big. Mistake. While the sandwiches were not entirely awful, the sides of Tabouli salad (very bland), Babaganoush (stale bread and likewise, bland)...and the basmati rice, which not only smelled like dirty gym socks but actually tasted like it came from the bottom of a frat house hamper were such a disappointment. Not only will we never return here, we are doing readers of this post a favor so you may avoid the same ill fate suffered by us.

It was my first time visiting a hookah bar & my experience was awful. The hookah hardly produced any smoke. When we shared the problem with our waitress she brought us another hookah that did the exact same thing--no smoke. Basically wasted $20. Since then I have been to another hookah bar that provided amazing service with satisfactory results from the hookah.

The staff made our experience horrible. The host at the time was completely oblivious. Wait for everything, for the bar, to be seated and then ignored once we were sat. No one came uo to us, so we ended up leaving. I give it 3 stars because I came before during the day with my family and had a decent experience. The bad experience was a Friday night, but this is a downtown restaurant, there's not excuse to not have good service.

My boyfriend and I went in one night. The music was loud and it was seemingly festive.I ordered two shots of crown peach, and a glass of chardonnay. Our bartender ( who it took 10 minutes to even address us and then she told us to "hold on"). Now between those drinks, our bill totaled 60 dollars... right, no way in hell. I love seeing the drag community and lgbtq+ business flourish but noooo, this place has got to do better. *sidenote* your bartender who did this was the young lady with the curly hair, black rimmed glasses.

I love Tabbuli so much and the new location is really pretty. I definitely want to return soon for a Drag event! Everything was impeccable today. I like that Tabbuli employees enjoy their work and everyone is super friendly. Our bartender was singing and dancing. Our server was so polite. It's a really great experience and a must go if you're in downtown Charleston.

I have never been so disrespected in my life. A coworker of mine just turned 18 and we decided to get some friends together and take her out for some good fun. We decided on Tabullis because of the atmosphere, and I was shocked at how we were treated. Some of us were under 21 and felt punished. We weren't looking for any trouble, just to hang out, enjoy being together, eat good food, and enjoy the night. First, we were put in a warm comfortable section beside heaters with people around and greeted with smiles. The server came and checked our IDs, realized some of us were underage and left. We didn't think anything of it. She came back and told us we can't be in this section and that she was wrongly informed of our age. We were moved to a section with no working heaters, by where the cars are parked. It was 54 degrees out. We asked a few different people to get us a heater and were ignored. No good customer service. No smiles. Just short sentences and a cold demeanor. I was sad. I'm a manager at a restaurant and I know what good customer service looks like. I was trained to have good customer service skills and I train my employees that same ideology. It made me sad to see these kids get treated like this on a girl's birthday. I guess that's what happens. This place use to have a good uplifting atmosphere.
