Live music is a good addition to the restaurant, but is sometimes a bit on the hard side. Personally I only go here for the cheese fondue because it is really very tasty!

Know this eatery from my student days now more than 30 years ago. Had not been there ever since. The atmosphere has not changed at that time. The music cafe of yesteryear. You can also eat well; we have eaten cheese fondue with our family which is very tasty.

Nice cosy place with good atmosphere. A bit loud but makes sense as it's a bar too. Good locations staff is friendly. The food and drinks selection is good. Recommended

Once but never again. We sat with 10 men at a table for a maximum of 6 people. It took a very long time to have drinks on the table at all, which we had to ask for. The food also took a very long time, but it took us 1.5 hours to wait. The food was cold, it took too long, very little and the pothuys burger was no more than a citizen of Mora and a ball of the AH. Really very bad, price / quality ratio is really terrible.

Our visit to 't Oude Pothuys was unfortunately very disappointing. Although the location and the outside terrace are very nice, the service and food is very poor. Our dinner consisted of a weekend roll with a simple hamburger and a skewer with chewy meat. We had to share a small bowl of fries with 4 people. It is a shame that this restaurant does not put a bit more love and passion into preparing the dishes. My advice is to skip 't Oude Pothuys and look for something where they can cook well.

Terrace on the canal, lovely location. We ate a very rich hamburger, even the bread was delicious! Affordable price and good service.
We ate outside, but the interior of the place was also very well decorated.

Every night live music, and every evening is therefore different. In addition, there is a fairly large selection of draft beers and bottled beers. Pothuys is ideal for dates due to the music, atmosphere and candlelight.

The staff is super friendly and if you do not come out with your choice they will help you with love. Do you want to have a Thursday or a Friday table you have to be there early because it is super busy!

My colleague and decided to stop for a beer and found this establishment to be the perfect spot to relax by the canal and people watch. The beer was good and the service was equally good. Definitely a place I will come back to, on my next trip to Utrecht.

Shut the fridge... one of the worst experiences in Utrecht in last decade!

We love(d) this place, great food and great music. But, yesterday few things went wrong. All those things surely happened at our table, must be. Orders vanished, drinks never arrived, food was not what we hoped for and almost 2 hours too late. How is this even possible... What happened to this place?

Still..... we will this place in the future a new chance.

More for eating then drinking. But we were with a small group and then you have you own private bartender. It is below the ground in an old cellar. There is live music (check the times). I like the atmosphere....
