Bit of a tourist trap. Prices were a bit high and selection was interesting. We did get corn there and everyone got a bit sick from it (think it might have been the butter). It tasted good though. Glad we went, but probably won't be back.

First time here for my wife and I, and it was fun. Great place to pick up some produce, a quick bite to eat and then walk or bike the tow path right behind the market. If you are looking for a great way to spend an afternoon, some time on the tow path or shopping Peninsula, a stop for a break at Szalays is a must. Just remember to bring your cooler for all the great eats.

Szalay's a roadside farmers market with made-to-order food stations.
The corn was great! But most of the fruits and vegetables were not any cheaper than a grocery store.
They accept cash and personal checks but not credit cards.
If you're looking to take a Sunday drive Szalay's it's a great destination.

We were looking for a good size variety of pumpkins. When I called they said they had tons. Wow, they were not kidding. They also had a festival atmosphere, live music, food, a wonderful market and a corn maze, Hay rides, games for kids and a unique Artsy Bee display. Had a great time!! Less busy than Mapleside our New favorite spot and people were so friendly

Fun place. Fantastic fruits, veggies and other food. Outdoor swings to eat prepared food made there. Tons of pumpkins. Corn maze across the street. Usually very busy place. Parking can be parked up. The park trail is right there too.

We love going here on the weekends. They always have live music on Saturday and the best corn on the cob in my opinion! Produce is always great. It's a nice place to take your kiddos. Just beware, some weekends it gets a bit crowded

If you can't pick produce from your own garden, Szalay's is second best. Much of the produce is locally grown and the displays are tv chef worthy. The people who have checked me out have always been polite and efficient. If there is a negative to shopping at Sally's it that they only take cash or checks. They do have an ATM available.

Awesome little marketplace. I love the setup and the selection of produce. I wish they took credit cards.

You can do some grocery shopping here or just stop by for some grilled corn, a sandwich, or some ice cream.

It was big fun;10,000,000 kinds of fruits and veggies including heirloom tomatoes. The peanut butter is great. As soon as I got home I stuck my finger in it and I was very happy. Put it on crackers, bread, plain and with jelly. Matter of fact believe I'll have some now.

Good if you have kids and just want to buy your pumpkin and be done with it. Everyone else: save yourselves the trip.
The corn maze is a disappointment for anyone over the age of 7, and the pumpkins are piled up on a bunch of trailers, so you can't enjoy walking around in a field in search for the perfect pumpkin. It's hyper-industrialized and just not what I was looking for. That said, the two singers who were there absolutely rocked.

Super family fun! Huge Ice cream cone only 2.50. Great swing chair for all to sit on. Awesome fall decor and beautiful pumpkins to choose from. Fresh fruit and veggies! Next to trail for family walk.

If you are coming to Akron u have to come down to the valley and check-out szalay's! For multiple generations they have been providing the very best corn in produce for local presidents and supermarkets.

Great place to visit. Tons of pumpkins and mum's at this time. And the usual treats: corn on the cob, ice cream with fruit, hotdog and sausage sandwiches - very reasonable prices. Not forgetting the store full of fresh fruit, veg, honey, jams, BREADS. Unique tables, and the biggest swing seat I've ever seen. We look for any excuse to be in the vicinity so we can drop on and get our favorite treats. Great place to take kids, of all ages.

Very pleased with my visit. However, a spot to purchase tickets for the corn maze is not clearly marked. Tickets are purchased with a cashier inside the farmer's market. I believe they are cash only, but an atm is on- site. The maze is definitely kid friendly. There are many props of Halloween figures throughout, but no living actors. It's approximately 3 acres in size, but a small map is given on your ticket. Without a map, it took approximately 45 minutes to complete. When you complete the maze, you're also able to go through the spinning barn. The pumpkin selection at the market is massive! They are very inexpensive and come in a variety of sizes. There are also slug pumpkins, which are colorless and very unique. Inside the market is a large selection of fresh produce and fall goodies. Buy local, this place is great!

Iconic midwest retreat! Warm and friendly; perfect for a nice day retreat. Rent a bike from Century Cycle and bike here (3 miles) as the perfect rest stop. Sweet corn, turkey burgers, lemonade, hot dogs, ice cream, beverages.

I would give this place 5 stars if they accepted credit cards as payment. This place is always hoppin. They have great tasting produce, especially the corn. On the weekends, you may have trouble finding a parking spot, especially when the corn is in season. If you continue down the side road past the the on-site parking, you'll see more parking to the right at a local park/trail.

Love that you always have a huge selection of fresh produce, and other quality products! Items are very reasonably priced, for the quality.

My only complaints are that there is not enough, safe, close parking for people with disabilities. Nor is the incline to go from outside, to inside, though very slight, is unsafe for those who are unsteady with their canes, walkers, etc.

Szalay's corn is top notch! I also purchased their pretzel bread, which is divine as well as some pink lady apples and nectarines. Looking forward to the fruit as it was ripe, and decent size. They are a bit pricey compared to Marc's and Aldi's but if you only get a few items it is well worth the money.
