Excellent, top notch servers, excellent & expertly prepared steaks and accompaniments. Definitely a place where you can relax and enjoy a long, leisurely feast with your significant other or friends! This was our second visit, and we enjoyed ourselves just as much as on our first visit! We will be back... and soon!

I recieved a $25 gift card to this place and I was looking forward to taking my boyfriend out to a wonderful meal. It was a little more expensive than I anticipated but I was willing to splurge a bit and give a good tip. We ordered the Ahi, Jidori Chicken, and a side of mash potatoes all to share. As soon as we brought up that we had a gift card the waitress immediately treated us differently. She said that the gift card was two years old and probably expired so she'd check for us. We waited another 15 minutes for an answer until eventually she came by to fill our water, and I asked her and she told me it worked.
OK, so after another long wait our chicken and mashed potatoes come. They were delicious! (probably not $30-60 per dish delicious, but definitely very tasty.) We asked the server where our Ahi was and he said it wasn't on the ticket. So eventually the waitress comes back by and says something along the lines of, "So I checked with my guy, and the Ahi wasn't on the ticket. You didn't order it, I think you were preoccupied with figuring out your gift card."
How incredibly rude. It's OK if she made a mistake and didn't hear or forgot to write it down but instead she blamed us for forgetting, and didn't apologize for it. (so no Ahi for us.) But we had room for cheesecake and that was also incredibly delicious so ah well.
Our waitress would also constantly skip over our table while checking in on everyone else around us. I guess she thought we might tip less because we were young and using a gift card. We tipped a bit less than we would have because she was rude and slow, but still 15% because we are not inherently less just because we are young and not rich (which seemed to be the assumption.)
Greg's the real deal when it comes to waiters and service. Best $500 for 6 of us I have spent in a long time. Get there earlier and you will get more attention. It got very crowded later, so I can't say if things drop off, but we enjoyed it.
We have come here many times and have always been happy with the food and service. It is an excellent steak house with a very nice wine selection. The mood tends to be intimate so it is a good place for couples. A lot of history is tied with the place as well.
We visited on 10/31/2020, all 4 in our party got food poisoning!! W shared the Avocado mash, yes we all ordered different plates but had veggies and mashed potatoes in common. I called to complain(DAVE the "manager" answered) and was basically called a liar since no one else had called the restaurant to complain about food poisoning and was also asked why i didnt call to inform them last night that we got sick. When was i supposed to call?? 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am or 6am when i was throwing up and sitting on toilet with diarrhea??? Save your money and time Do not visit this place unless you want to get food poisoning!!
Among all the drab of corporate chain restaurants lies this historic gem. Maintaining the class and far lost hospitability of old world historic route 66, bringing in world class modern and classic cocktails. This local staple serves top shelf steaks, among other fair favourable to the most discerning of guests. With a wine selection no respecting person could scoff at and a staff that are equally as professional as they are wonderful people, this is a must see whilst driving the classic route 66.
Our server was the best. I don t usually eat steak however my buddy insisted. The prime rib was thin sliced and had flavor. I always appreciate when meat is juicy so I give them kudos for a good cut. Also had a glass of wine and avocado mash. It s great for happy hour so I highly recommend making in to have a good meal that won t break the bank. Overall we spent about $100 plus tip. The thing about food is you get what you pay for so don t cheap yourself out. Have a good meal.
The crew were all courteous and accommodating. Food was good, we had steak and herb-roasted chicken. Service was slow, slightly inefficient. This was a private event, though so, there might have been lapses in the coordination. My rating shouldn't reflect on their restaurant service.
New Years Eve Murder Mystery Dinner Theater at the Sycamore Inn. Amazing as usual! They do one for Valentines Day and Halloween too! Great food, great fun!!
This was the first time visiting the sycamore inn in my wife and I had a great time. Nice and cozy with the fireplace very warm and inviting and all the great history that surrounds this restaurant. Awesome happy hour food and drinks were on point and our server Brianna was terrific. Can't wait to come back soon
I had to change my review on this place after the last 2 visits. I seriously think management needs to be present. Brought my mother in law here for her birthday and had to send the food back 2 times, they could not cook a well done steak. Horrible. The time before that the waitress spilled beer on my fiance, she was being rude to us as if it was our fault. The manager got involved and was just dumbfounded on how to treat this situation. They just can't seem to get it right, figure it out guys!
Never a bad moment at this fine restaurant. From service to food is great. Maybe I over looked on the menu but I wish they have the Tomahawk Steak. Especially if it's been Dry Aged [prefer 28days]. But I did have their bone-in Put 22oz Prime Rib. Other than that, I will return.
It was a great evening. The food and the atmosphere was fantastic. We ate outside on the patio and it was a great experience. We didn't realize it was happy til 8 until the bill came and it was a nice surprise at the end of the evening. Great wine and amazing food! .
The food is good, but the management, i.e. Peter, leaves a lot to be desired. I had a problem with an inebriated customer and felt compelled to leave when on a different occasion, Peter asked a customer at my table to stop drinking. Funny, the person at my table was not inebriated or even close-- only had 2 drinks, but when I had a problem with a true drunk who accosted me and the guests with me, Peter seemed to ignore the issue. We complained, but nothing was done. Only after one of my friends was openly threatened by this inebriated individual did the management care because the police were called--- by us, not them!! The Sycamore Inn should have different management. Good food, but foolish people running it. I don't feel safe there anymore.
Don't go unless you're expecting to spend 150$ per person. The wait staff is snobby and will pick you out as 'boring' if you don't order expensive food, or their most expensive steak. Good overall, but not worth the price.
Food was absolutely amazing! The service was good: not great, but good. A lot of history and nostalgia at the Sycamore Inn which adds to the ambiance. Overall a good time.
Was here for our Christmas company party. We were in a private room in the basement. Everything was delicious and service was great! It was a buffet with scalloped potatoes, chicken breast, beef kabobs, zucchini/veggies, and cheesecake for dessert! The room, itself had a giant fireplace and like 4 Christmas trees.
A very horrible experience. This restaurant closes at 9pm and I phone them that we were on our way coming, I was told to be there before 9pm which we made it 8.56pm we were given a seat and our order was taken. 7min later this RUDE manager came to tell us that they can't process the order so they are sorry. Very very bad
Had our company dinner here and the food was amazing. Our server was a bit rude and put off a vibe (like we wouldn't be able to afford the bill at the end of the night seeing as we all look very young) Other than that everyone loved their steaks.
Horrible. You order a 52 dollar piece of meat ask for medium rare you kinda expect it to be at least good. Even if you dont get exactly what you want. They proceeded to send a something that saw heat for maybe a minute. Straight rubber, basically raw meat, cool almost cold, and the fat was still completely raw. No "steak house" should let that leave the kitchen. I was looking forward to this but absolutely horrible experience as far as food and service wasnt much behind had ice water poured on me by staff and just sleazy attitude just cause I dont want alcohol. I wouldnt recommend to anyone after my experience.
My 15 year old Grandaughter said "this is the the best food I've ever had". This says it all about tonights dining. Thank you Dawn. You are a super server.
The steaks were superb and ranked high on taste and flavor. We ordered the filet mignon and the new york. However everything else was al a carte (salad, baked potato, vegetables, etc) which we aren't expecting for the dinner pricing. The restuarant has great community history dating back into the 1800's which may be influencing the dinner prices! So our 4 star rating is based on the excellent quality and taste of their steaks.
Pricey. I had The Route 66 filet and it was good. My husband had the ribeye and said it wasn't worth the price. We were looking forward to the special souffle, but we weren't aware that it took 40 minutes to prepare until after we had finished our dinner. That would have been great information to have know when we ordered our dinner. Perhaps our server, "Mr cranky pants" could have given us a heads up. If we go back it will be to enjoy their happy hour menu on the porch.
This is the finest dining experience in Rancho Cucamonga. This 5 star dining at it's best. We had minestroni soup, steamed artichoke, shared cheese and fruit platter. My friend had a glass of Rumbauer wine followed by fresh berries and whipped cream.
Felt old and dated, smelled like it hadn't been cleaned of smoke from the days when smoking was allowed. The food was overpriced for what it was, just adequate, not outstanding. What was outstanding was the server and her support staff, otherwise would have given less stars.
We went as a guest of a wedding party. The waitress we were assigned was very pushy impatient and not a great disposition. I guess my advice is come with NO children because they want you to be quick and no wedding parties because they seem to be on a time crunch. When told we would be in soon fron taking pictures the waitress seemed to have an attitude even the Bride was upset with the waitress. The Bride was outside saying bye to some family and the waitress began to take orders without waiting for the Bride or the Groom. Just felt it to be wrong, if I were the Bride I would have been extremely upset.
Went to a seminar hosted by my financial advisor, Simplifi, and had a great dinner. We had salad, prime rib, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and cheese cake. All of it was great especially the prime rib.
Fantastic food and staff! Janet and Mayra are The most awesome bartenders on the planet! The happy hour is the most diverse and affordable in the Inland Empire. You won't be disappointed!
My fiance and I spent such a great time here celebrating my birthday. Amazing service by all especially our server Nick he made great recommendations on drinks and food and did not disappoint! Definitely will recommend to friends and family!
