It's good but no way it's as good as all the reviews. It's a nice restaurant but it's probably busier more for its Broadmoor location (and easy parking) than its food. The cooked food is solid, but I have never had a really good roll there. They always seem to fall apart rather easily.

Friendly staff and creative rolls that taste good. There is a bit of wait but it is worth it!

Upon entering, you have to write your name on the board to be on the wait list.

All items are recently priced for the quantity.

One of the best sushi places in Richmond for a moderately priced meal. There is usually a wait during dinner time, but the food comes quickly which makes up for it. Their sashimi is fresh and there is a good selection of special rolls and hot food available.

Excellent place for take out! Good sushi for good value. The fish and rice isn t ice cold like some other places. They have some combos with soup and salad that are a pretty good deal. There is an easy online ordering system too.

Gami sushi has great food and great service. Yes, sometimes it has long lines, but many people hail it as the top sushi place in Richmond. Gami is always willing to make changes to their dishes to support low carb or keto diets, and will allow up to two substitutions per meal. I love this place :)

We found a tiny small warm in the salmon.
We complained them but they just told us it s normal.
We had to throw up after we came home.
Plus, they are not authentic Japanese, run by Korean.

Great sushi, terrible service. The food is thrown on your table with no warning or eye contact. The sushi is very good though, can't say anything bad about the food, but the service has been consistently terrible for a long time. Perhaps some days you get a nice waitress, but every time I stay in the restaurant I regret not getting take out.

it's an ooookay place. line up was crazy so we thought definitely it'll be a good place for sushi...but just didn't find it to be tasty. the rolls weren't done nicely, 2 had no filling, and one had hair. bill came to $68 for the two of us and we didn't order beverages, just had their house tea. service was ok. had to ask twice for soya sauce. not worth the drive, the wait or the money.

There is always a line up because the sushi is so good and affordable! They are also really quick, extremely nice, and efficient. I have never had anything but an excellent experience here.

Not sure what the hype is all about Gami Sushi. Went in for dinner and it was very busy (but expected from the other reviews). I was seated fairly quickly as I was a table for two. The staff were nice and the food came quick. The sushi was indeed fresh but a bit bland side. I also ordered Takoyaki which was very very disappointing. The sushi quality is definitely good.

Rolls don't fall apart and are actually portioned equally! Ingredients are very fresh the Yam tempura pieces are the largest I've ever seen! Price is comparable to most sushi places but the quality is unbeatable.

Amazing and friendly staff. Great food at a competitive price. A lot of value for your money. The amount of both dine-in and take-out orders they do daily speaks volumes to just how good they are!

Went here two times and both times two different waitresses were rude upfront, the second bigger one scoffed at me for asking for a table and just walked away without a word before seating us. Weird experience, rude waitresses, food was good though.

They always busy, packed and dont take reservation. Their prices are cheap, but their portions and food quality are different every time I visited. I like their black dragon roll, scallop nirgiri sushi, salmon belly nirgiri sushi, spicy pork gyoza, uni, tobiko with quail egg and hamachi nirgiri sushi. But I dont like their oyster motoyaki (they put little bit of chopped oysters with a lot of butter spinach), prawns tempura batter was too thick, deep fried unagi got too much bones inside, snow dragon roll was tasteless. I never try their noodles/ rice/ soup. 2 of us always eat a lot, which compare to another table of customers, always over $100 for 2 of us.

The tempuras are great! Extremely fresh, light and crispy. We went right when it opened for lunch and it was packed half an hour later. Ingredients for the cones were fresh but the technique could be better. Staff were friendly. Would recommend it if you are in the neighborhood.

They have an excellent selection of "specialty rolls" and have aburi sushi here (the flame seared stuff) if you're into that, which I am. We went later on a Saturday evening (near closing) and it was still packed (which is a good sign); its worth the wait though.
Daunted by the selection, we asked one of the servers for a recommendation and he singled out the "Oh Gami roll" without hesitation. It was a winner. The flavor was on point with the majority of the special rolls/aburi we ordered and everything looked so "well presented/photogenic" (makes it that much more enjoyable/appetizing). The yakisoba comes in a hot plate for added effect. I enjoyed the food here.
Service was fast/friendly/efficient, no complaints here. Price is very reasonable for the quality.

Excelent Sushi in Richmond! Gets very busy and it's not a big restaurant so be prepared to wait a bit at dinner time. Tip: write your name and number of people in your party on the white boars at the entrance as soon as you get there.

Used to be the best but has progressively gone downhill. Tonight I found a hair in my salmon roll and the gomae was less than half of a normal portion. Used to go here several times per week. Not anymore.

Yummy

Quick in and out for takeout or sit down place for sushi. Good variety of rolls and fresh sashimi available. The menu also has daily specials featuring seasonal items to try. It is often very busy and likely will have a wait around lunch and dinner regardless of the day of the week. Would probably try to come early to beat the rush or else the wait can be long. Overall, prices are reasonable and even offers 10% off for takeouts over $20.

Inside is like sticking on the top and bottom but great food delicious the staffs only speaks Japanese to their co-workers I am fine with it just cause sushi is made from Japan or Tokyo. What really stings me the most is the waiting have to wait for 45 minute or 35 I get their busy and other ones I visited was 1 hour great service never forgets your food
