We ordered a few specialty rolls and were surprised that they all tasted good! The rolls actually stayed in shape, which doesn't often happen at a lot of places.

The assorted tempura was fried nicely and had a nice "soft" crunch.

We also ordered some sushi pieces and they all tasted very fresh.

Price is decent and service was okay. It's also nice and cozy in terms of atmosphere. Will be back for sure.

Our new favorite sushi restaurant. Beautiful creative menu (try the tempura sweet potato encrusted ebi, but not the beef tataki), quality fresh seafood and surprisingly at a reasonable price, that is, if you do not drink sake ($32!). Bonus, 10% discount for takeout.

My daughter took me there for dinner. Gami Sushi has no reservation with line up. They have lots of variety of sushi with nice presentation. They cleared your empty dish quick.
The only thing that made me upset was they gave us our bill while we were still eating. 10 minutes later, they asked if we were ready to pay bill while our food was not finished. Why not set a rule for maximum time 30 - 45 minutes per table.

Gami sushi is the best bang for bucks when it comes to sushi in Richmond! Food tastes great for a super reasonable price. I recommend getting take outs because the restaurant is always packed during lunch and dinner time.

Your typical sushi place: quick service, familiar dishes. Tempura nicely done: light, crisp batter coating. Miso soup served hot, which may decrease the nutritional benefits but, so what, it was tasty. Sushi rice a touch too cool and stiff for this diner's taste; supple is better. In and out in 40 minutes at lunch.

Always a solid place to get sushi if you live in the neighbourhood and even if you live further away it s still worth the trek. Gami Sushi is Korean-owned and operated, so you do see the influences here and there, like the stone bowls they serve katsudon out of. That obviously doesn t take away from their wide variety of rolls that are generally very creative while staying reasonably priced. You can eat on a budget or splurge like a king on some of the more expensive rolls. There s something for every price point.

Popcorn attack roll is good for those who can t eat raw fish, unagi tempura roll is a surprisingly affordable luxury option at $4.95, the fried california rolls are delicious. With prices like these, you can t exactly expect the rolls to be rolled super tight, but you can at least guarantee that they won t fall apart unless prodded at.

Best to stay away from the donburi/rice bowls (except the bibimbap) as well as the udon since they re not this place s bread and butter. Hot plates have more bean sprouts than protein so that s always disappointing. Everything else however is worth trying especially some of the more unusual items like sushi pizza and the seared tuna with coconut and crunchy bits.

Service is polite and generally quick, but can suffer a little when they get busy.

Great food! Tried the black dragon and snow dragon rolls, chopped scallop cone, okonomiyaki and nabeyaki udon. They do not skimp on ingredients, every part of our meal was loaded and delicious. Loved the udon (soup was good, ingredients fresh, shrimp was peeled and cooked perfectly), okonomiyaki was okay (bit too oily that night, think more Korean seafood pancake than okonomiyaki). An excellent sushi joint for those specialty (saucy) rolls.

ps. I ate here two nights in a row! Hahaha

used to be great food and services but not anymore. we were waiting for an hour to get a table of 8 one time. so we decided to take out on our next occassion . it was 11am but when we dropped off our sushi tray (I'm a green person) and picked up the food a few hours later, the waitress was very rude to us - no smile, no thank you or wait, just hand the food to us and turned around. it seems the business is so good that the waitress does not care us anymore :(

Authentic Japanese cuisine restaurant. When we arrived we had people waiting in a queue outside the restaurant to get a table, even in the rain. The restaurant has a simple solution for the people waiting for a table. They have a white board where you can leave your name and number in the order of arrival and you can go around the mall minding your business. When your turn comes the restaurant will call you (only local numbers) to inform the same and you can come back to be seated. The sushi/sashimi are fresh and of very good quality. Weekends can get really busy and the restaurant closes by 10pm. So arrive early and enjoy your dinner.

Been here a couple times for dinner with SO and the two little ones. Fast, not too expensive and I'm very satisfied with quality for the price. Busy but not too long a wait. There's a couple Korean dishes too.

Food and service here was fantastic. Was led to Gami Sushi by our so who frequents the place with his friends because the portions are big enough to share without breaking the bank. Important for high-school kids and parents alike. We ordered the beef teriyaki hotplate and the spicy Udon in soup. Amazingly delicious food!

Should've known as my son is usually a picky eater but wow!

The food was hot and fresh. My wife usually complains that her soups are not usually hot but this time she was happy from the get-go. The flavour of the teriyaki was bang on. Wife thought it was too sweet but combined with the Nanami-Togarashi seasoning, it was perfect. The veggies in the dishes perfectly balanced the meal both in quantity and flavour. The tea they serve is delicious and the teapot they serve it in keeps it nice and hot. My only complaint is that the teapot is very small and does not yield many servings - and oversight easily corrected by the servers who refill it frequently.

I was supposed to take photos of the food bur completely forgot because I was so enjoying it. Next time I go, I eill rake some.

The price was decent for the quality and quantity of food to be had in our order. We paid around $40.00 including taxes for three large dishes that left all of us completely satisfied.

The facility itself is cozy and comfortable. Nice, clean wooden tables, mixed with dark and muted Asian decor make the place a nice place to sit and eat. We went there at around 1730 hours and by the time we sat down to eat (12 minutes from the time we walked in, to the time our food arrived ) the restaurant filled up. It is not around very large place and it is very popular. I could see around three or four booths that can sit 6-8 people and seven to ten tables that can sit anywhere from 1 to 6 people.

They provide take-out and that part of the business seems huge. While eating I must have seen around at least 40 people come and pick-up or order take-out. That did not take away from my experience however as the staff work quietly, quickly and efficiently.

My son says that he's seen the line to get in, go around the building - around 20 to 30 parties waiting to get in and eat. There is a wait-list that you must sign, detailing how many people in your party. That day, There was an extra page of people signing in, waiting to get in.

Look up the busy times in Google before you go. Once there and eating, you will not be disappointed.

Bon-apetit!

Great place to go for sushi, their special rolls are always the best. I recommend the Gami Roll, the popcorn roll, and rainbow roll! Too bad the line up is quite long during lunch and dinner hours, but it does go by at a relatively good pace within 20 min or so

The waiting area is a little small but we were seated right away. Arrived at 330pm it wasn't too busy. Great layout and atmosphere. We ordered the Alaskan roll, house roll (amazing highly recommended this roll), boneless crab, and nigiri. The food was great and arrived promptly, service staff were really busy but attentive and fast. I could see this place during dinner time or later being really backed up, so arrive early.

The servers are so RUDE! Last time we were trying to order take out but the staff hang up the phone on my face twice. This time the food is not even half finished and the food is still in my mouth, the server asks me if I'm done with my food. we are shocked and isn't it obvious we are still eating?? Ok then, the server just throw the bill on our table, just like she wants to kick us out. To be honest, I don't wanna tip any thing for this kind of service, but I still give 10% because I am nice. I will NEVER EVER go to this place again, and I rather drive all the way to Burnaby if I want sushi.

The waitress felt particularly anxious about where to go when ordering. When miso soup comes, it feels like the thumb is soaking in the soup. Not hygienic. The taste is also average. Richmond is no good sushi place.

Waited for more than an hour and gave the seat which was given to us by another waitress to someone else because boss said so. Food is okay but long line ups and attitude is really bad.

Never come again!!!!!
If I have a choice, I would give no star.

This is one of the good sushi with cheap price place. The place is small and you often need to wait for 30mins for a table but it worths the waiting. It has speciality rolls that with many sauces but they all match together to provide you a good taste of new sushi roll. The only complain is the teapot is very heavy...

Excellent. Had a 6pm reservation. Took our dinner order immediately. Was ready in about 5 minutes, we were shocked at the speed given it was a completely full house. Quality was easily 10/10 unbelievable given the speed of service also. Server was very good too.

Wow, busy place, was there at 5:20pm in. Saturday, and there was a lineup! Had to wait about 1/2 hour for 3 person table. Definitely worth the wait though. The Sashimi was so fresh! Reasonably priced, and the service was pretty good considering how busy it was. Will definitely be back, going to try the lunch next, the bento boxes are less expensive then most places

As a vegetarian I have been here a couple of times with my girlfriends and have been so impressed with the service and the food. Everyone is so friendly. I ordered the miso soup which is the best I ve had, the seaweed salad is sooo good as it says in the menu that it comes with cucumber and avocado(which I was hesitant about) and it was such a perfect combination of flavours and texture. I love there Inari because other places serve it cold but here it was room temperature-so delicious. My favourite roll is the vegetable tempura roll..with a side of the spicy mayo. The vegetable roll is so good too. The edamame is a nice appetizer too-be careful it comes steaming hot.
The only downside is the wait sometimes can go up to 15 minutes if it s a busy night..but it s definitely worth the wait!!

They also have amazing green tea and mango ice cream-not super sweet but so flavourful!
