Food and service here was fantastic. Was led to Gami Sushi by our so who frequents the place with his friends because the portions are big enough to share without breaking the bank. Important for high-school kids and parents alike. We ordered the beef teriyaki hotplate and the spicy Udon in soup. Amazingly delicious food!
Should've known as my son is usually a picky eater but wow!
The food was hot and fresh. My wife usually complains that her soups are not usually hot but this time she was happy from the get-go. The flavour of the teriyaki was bang on. Wife thought it was too sweet but combined with the Nanami-Togarashi seasoning, it was perfect. The veggies in the dishes perfectly balanced the meal both in quantity and flavour. The tea they serve is delicious and the teapot they serve it in keeps it nice and hot. My only complaint is that the teapot is very small and does not yield many servings - and oversight easily corrected by the servers who refill it frequently.
I was supposed to take photos of the food bur completely forgot because I was so enjoying it. Next time I go, I eill rake some.
The price was decent for the quality and quantity of food to be had in our order. We paid around $40.00 including taxes for three large dishes that left all of us completely satisfied.
The facility itself is cozy and comfortable. Nice, clean wooden tables, mixed with dark and muted Asian decor make the place a nice place to sit and eat. We went there at around 1730 hours and by the time we sat down to eat (12 minutes from the time we walked in, to the time our food arrived ) the restaurant filled up. It is not around very large place and it is very popular. I could see around three or four booths that can sit 6-8 people and seven to ten tables that can sit anywhere from 1 to 6 people.
They provide take-out and that part of the business seems huge. While eating I must have seen around at least 40 people come and pick-up or order take-out. That did not take away from my experience however as the staff work quietly, quickly and efficiently.
My son says that he's seen the line to get in, go around the building - around 20 to 30 parties waiting to get in and eat. There is a wait-list that you must sign, detailing how many people in your party. That day, There was an extra page of people signing in, waiting to get in.
Look up the busy times in Google before you go. Once there and eating, you will not be disappointed.
Bon-apetit!
