Awesome beer and they have a full food menu. Only downside is they aren't allowed to sell beer to go.

The food and the beer are absolutely amazing. Very busy place, so you may need to wait a bit, but it's totally worth it. Great place to meet family and friends. Would be great for a date night too.
Great beer and good food. It's worth a stop even if you are passing through town.
I went to this place last week and it was definitely a really good experience. We had a get together and chose this place. We were 15 people in all and each one of us was paid attention by the staff. This was probably the best part of visiting this place. The food was also delicious and drinks were good as well. The most impressive thing about this place was the treatment by the staff. Thankyou Surly Brewing Co for such a wonderful experience.
Excellent customer service & a warm, inviting atmosphere. The beer garden is such a great spot when the weather is nice. Last but not least, the food - it's delicious!
I went on the Surly tour with my fiance for his 30th birthday and we had a blast! The tour was great, the beer was good, and the atmosphere rocked! We will definitely tour again on our next trip to the Twin Cities!
Worth a visit. Had a private party upstairs and the food that Surly provided was tasty and creative. The deviled eggs were very good. I was surprised by how much I liked Surly beers on tap rather than in a can.
Amazing food, good beer, service is a little slow both at a table or the long line if you try to get your own beer. Best is if there is an open spot at the bar.
Great beer, great food, and a cool industrial environment.
We had a fun and interesting time yesterday touring the brewery with John as our guide. We learned a lot and had delicious beer with really nice people in a beautiful place - what could be better?!
1st, and last visit.
Visited 8/10 and should of known with the amount of vehicles there that it wouldn't be worth it. Brewery you say? You need to change your name to include restaurant, since that is what you are. Based on your size and venue I would also no longer consider you a microbrewery as well. My husband and I have been wanting to visit for ages, and just wanted a beer. 15 minute wait to stand in line to order one, in a completely crowded place where you have to yell to hear one another is not how we wanted to spend our night.
Great place! Food was great, music was good, and customer service was good! Highly recommend!
An elegant destination and worthy destination, both from a personal or business perspective. I took my team to have a team building exercise. However, a tour of the brewing facility, and overview of the process and quality control, was a perfect way to bring a work learning combined with some fun. Excellent beers, food and ambience. No pressure to buy or leave early. I really enjoyed it, and thought it was a very sophisticated experience. Highly recommend it.
Big space. Good service. Great beer. Incredible food. Reasonable prices.
Amazing beer hall with a wide selection of beers that will satisfy any palate. Best beer garden in the cities when the weather is nice. Many other nearby competitive options now though if you you don't want to deal with lines and mobs of people.
Delicious beer! And the food was great as well. I didn't get a pizza from upstairs but they looked amazing. Going to try that next time. I highly recommend if you like their beer or if you want to try a great place to eat. Wait times can be long so be patient! It's worth it.
Love this place!! The beer, the food, the service and the atmosphere is just what it should be!! Been here three times when I've been back home visiting family... couldn't recommend anything more...and it is grandchildren friendly!!
I LOVE the atmosphere and think this place has a lot of potential. I've been there a few times but went on Sunday night for a friend's birthday party and despite having LOTS of open tables we were sat at one of the large tables right next to a group of four. Additionally, their menu just changed again so a brat was $16 - for ONE brat? If you add a side it goes up to $20. The food is ok but definitely overpriced. Not sure if I'll be going back.
Delicious beers, wonderful atmosphere! Thank you, Surly for starting a revolution!
WOW! Amazing place. Weather was perfect to be outside. And inside was awesome too.
Plenty games, fire pits and seating outside.
Kids allowed and big space for.them to run around.
Place has a pizza area on second floor.
Brewery tours. Private event rooms. Easy street or valet parking. This place and their designers and marketing teams held nothing back.
I will be here often and anytime I have out of town friends, this is a must in my list now.
Excellent price value too.
Always a treat. Great beers, great food, friendly staff and the place just can't be beat. It's called a "destination brewery" for a reason, make it a destination for you too.
Great Surly burger and three awesome dark beers and the wait staff were outstanding.
Went on Sunday afternoon and was told 45 minute wait for table. Lines for beer were hundred yards long. Didn't stay.
Phenomenal food, friendly staff, great owner and Todd The Axe Man is reeediculous....
By far the most overrated brewery in the city with only one or two decent beers and a recognizable name driving people to come there instead of going somewhere better. The concert venue itself was fine but the crowd it attracts is awful and trying to leave is even worse with no one directing traffic.
I have been coming in here since the day it opened. I always get great service. I am so glad it is in out neighborhood.I love this place!!
Very good beer and food, just be aware food is a tad pricy. Beer selection is excellent, they always have something I love. Try to avoid the busy hours, it can get real bonkers.
Great atmosphere and beer selection. Great service. Beers are a smidgen on the high side for price.
Good beer, great food, and a fantastic space. Loved it!!
This place is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! Great food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very relaxing atmosphere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went to Surly Brewing because I was visiting my family and I grew up in Minnesota. I wanted to try something new with them. I was shocked to see how busy it was from the moment we got there for our tour. We really enjoyed the tour and were surprised by how huge and the place is and how much we all enjoyed our time there. Food and beer were heart, as well as the service and employees! I am hoping this will be a place my parents can enjoy and that i can visit again when i come back from Arizona. Thanks for the great time!
Exceptional Service
Best beer in town
Feels like a museum
Very enjoyable. The tour guide was engaging and mixed entertaining comments with the science of beer making which kept things moving and fun. Tasting was enjoyable - nice little souvenir glasses!
Almost hip. Definitely over priced. I could stop right there. But, I will continue to say that I like some of their beers but find most of them to be just so-so. And... I am a craft beer lover pretty open to that brett dank, high hops, or funk flavors. I have been here a few times and find that they are very busy, crowded really, with average beer and high prices. Looking around, I see dudes looking kind of lumbersexual even though they probably can't start a fire or use a chainsaw. The lumbersexuals aren't Surly's fault of course, that is just the clientele. Considering the value, I'd have to go counter to most reviewers here and say this place is trying to be cool, but not cool enough to get up above 2 stars.
Pizza was very good. The potato pizza was surprisingly delicious.
The desserts are a must. Had the puppy chow brownie and peanut butter cup cookie
Good food. Real smoked meats not just the kind splashed with liquid smoke and claimed to be smoked. Nice selection of beers for all palettes
Wonderful facility. Outstanding food. Good service. Good beer.
Great for date night. Open areas to hangout and enjoy a well crafted beer. Food is above average.
The Saturday night we visited it was very crowded and noisey. There was a long line for everything. The Russian Stout was amazing. The Pils not so much. But if you don't like crowds, lines, or noise maybe go at a less popular time(s).
Great Culinary Pizza. Wood fired. You will not be disappointed. Fair prices.
Great place, great food, and a cool vibe, but it's a long wait even on a weekday.
Free parking. Long lines yet they move quickly. Service is okay. Location a tad out of the way but beer selections are consistently on point.
This place was awesome! All the beer that we tried was very tasty and cheap. We also had the guacamole and it was some of the best that I've had in the US. All of the workers were very friendly and helpful.
Love Surly, great tour with a focus on getting a beer in your hand fairly quickly. You can never go wrong with the furious but doom tree might be my new favorite. Not a fan of the citrus they just came out with but just my 2 cents which isn't worth docking stars for.
This place is great, I always love to visit when in town..
Incredible space and great beers! Helping to put the Twin Cities on the beer scene nationally
Really good trout. Did not have a wheat beer...strange...the beer I had was good though.
Such a fun atmosphere! And great beer! We took the tour this time and it was awesome!
It's a good thing Surly brews good beers, because the brewery is a horrible experience overall. It was extremely busy on a Saturday afternoon, which would be fine, but there is only one bartender at each of the two bars. The line for beer was about 25 minutes long. Do not eat there, it's not worth it. Our wait for a table when we arrived at 1:30 pm was 1 hour and 45 minutes. Of the 7 food items our party of 5 ordered the highlight was the French fries. Many of the portions were on the small side, and nothing to write home about. The worst was the fried chicken. I got 1 leg and 1 drumstick (sort of) that were waaaaay over done. Half the meat had fallen off the bone.
Buy Surly at your local bar or store. Don't bother visiting the brewery. There's many other local breweries in the area which are much better places to hangout and have great beer as well.
In addition to the delicious food and drink, the Surly Customer Service came through in a big way when I needed help tracking down an itemized receipt from several weeks prior.
It's okay. The beer isn't anything special in the food isn't anything great. If you like the feel of a crowded beer hall this is pretty nice.
Simply the best. Better than all the rest.
Great beer. Furious makes me furious I can't buy it in Michigan. Pentagram never fails. Literally has never failed anyone ever. The food is oh-so-tasty. Brussel Spouts + Lime + Fish Sauce... yum.
Excellent beer, friendly staff and 5 star service.
Erix coach LLC will be bringing guest here on every tour
Nice place, .you might think you could get a beer from the brewery reasonably cheap, not so. You get twice add many beers for your money if you pick them up from the store vs. Buying at the brewery.
Maybe it's just me but I would think the opposite.
The Minneapolis location is beautiful. Come early if you want to eat, the wait can be long. The upstairs pizza was really good. Our tour guide (Noah) was very informative and gave a great tour. Definitely worth the trip.
Never been to surly before so figured we'd try it out. Got there at 3:58pm for the 5pm tour and they said we were late and it already started. Why say be there 1 hr early if it's going to start 1 hr early. Needless to say we are not happy and left without trying anything out. I don't think we will be going back to surly anytime soon
We already know that Surly's beer selection is fantastic--something for everyone who likes beer. The staff are wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly. They staff the hall appropriately for how busy they are. The wait for a table can be lengthy but is well worth the wait. You can grab a beer from the bar and check out their gift shop while you wait. Even if the beer line is long, you can get through it very quickly. The food is fantastic. I've never been disappointed with any of it. The menu rotates, aside from their smoked meats that are so delicious. Tonight I had the Carne Asada and absolutely loved it. The steak was tender and perfectly done to my liking (medium rare) and the greens, seasoned crispy potatoes and avocado sauce were the perfect combination of flavors to pair. I'm already craving it again!
It's fine. I'm not a huge IPA fan so I felt my beer options were really limited. The pizza was good but just good. It's a fun place to go for the atmosphere but there are better places to go for craft beer and dinner really close by.
My name is Anthony from Kenya a Brewing and distilling postgraduate student - Heriot Watt university Scotland. I had a awesome one hour experience at Surly brewery. Very clean and huge set up to bring refreshing beer to the customer. The tours could be improved more by getting to brief visitors first in a quiet room before taking the tour to see the actual process. Otherwise great job....
The beer is good, but the food in the main beer hall is not. I've eaten in the beer hall 3-4 times and have been disappointed every time. That said, Surly Pizza on the upper level is very good and makes the brewery much more worth a visit.
It's Surly. Great beer, great food, great service. I love this place.
Ordered the schnitzel and it was fabulous. Great beer and food everytime.
The brewery tour was great - tons of great info and some good laughs. Very impressive. We were seated for dinner almost immediately and it was very busy - nice work! Food was excellent and our server was top notch. And I haven t even mentioned the beer... wow.
Not a bad place to spend an afternoon or evening with great beer and a nice place to sit outdoors.
Great place, surprised we have not been there before.
Awesome place. Day we went they had rescue dog day very nice to see and greet dogs outside. Staff and food was better than I expected. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!
2 stars because beer was good...service was terrible. The bartender was SO rude to myself & my friends. He rolled his eyes at us & treated us as if we were children. Extremely unimpressed.
Good food. Different choices for those who like beer
Excellent food. Mussels are great. Brisket is great, sausages are great. Even the beer nuts were great. Tour is interesting. Highly recommend.
Hipster heaven. Prices a little high, portions okay, food and beer are amazing. These fries are amazing!
I'm a nurse at fairview ridges hospital. These awesome people donated a TON of tater tot hotdish for the whole staff. I'm eating it right now and its AWESOME.
The defining MN brewery with the best beers in the Midwest. Amazing service, incredible patio, and truly some of the best food/beer pairings of any restaurant. Surly is a staple of MN. This place should be a regular spot for everyone.
Great brews and I tried a delicious venison hot link served with spicy pineapple jam and jicama ribbons with a lime dressing. Super great place!
Cool place, great beer....my only complaint is we sat inside at the bar farthest end away from doors and the flies were aweful! Couldn t enjoy just hanging out cause the bloody bugs ugh
It is a beautiful establishment! We got the Missing Link pizza and Puppy Chow Brownie. The pizza was very good. Loved how crispy the crust was. It had a slight pretzel flavor with the sea salt flakes. The sauce had great flavor. However, I do wish I could have added smoked chicken. That was a big disappointment. Also, not having parmesan, red pepper flakes or balsamic drizzle was a disappointment. Overall, the pizza was good, but had room for improvement.
On the other hand, the Puppy Chow Brownie was not very good. Sure it had all the caramel and brownie sugar flavor but was very hard and dense. It literally just came out of the fridge/freezer. It was not warm like you would think a brownie would be. Would not recommend.
