I loved that we got to keep our tasting glass and we got quite a bit of free beer on the tour. The space is incredible. It's a great thing to do in The twin cities if you have a couple of hours to relax.

Big selection of beer. Food was good and service was fast and friendly. Popular young person place. Good vibe atmosphere.

Awesome brewery! Huge place with tons of seating, but this place is BUSY (for good reason). Excellent beer, as well as underrated food! A must visit if visiting the Twin Cities.

Very nice place serving some of the best beers in the state. Their free tours are an awesome offering and I definitely recommend going on one. Because of how popular this place is, it does get very busy on most days, so I suggest booking well in advance.

Good beer and great food! Their brisket is so rightfully raved about. My favorite is their brussel sprouts! What's nice is there is a wide enough array of food options that you can come back so many times and not get bored with the menu.
Plenty of seating that is first come first serve.
Their courtyard is lively with yard games and multiple fires.

Bustling on a Wednesday night in October. Our group of 12 went upstairs for beer and pizza. Both were good.

An always-busy taproom with popular beer choices that are largely on the darker end of the spectrum. Service is friendly, prices are average, and the ambiance is great. If you want to sit down, expect around an hour wait.

Great if you want to go to a kid's playground. So many kids at a brewery on a Friday. Not an adult place to go for a beer.

Very impressed with the new digs. Surly's obviously got some cash and for good reason. Food met my expectations (much lauded Surly burger was a tad dry), but the beer blew me away. Having only drunk Surly Furious or Bender when I'm out on the town, the subtle complexity of their lesser-known brews was a total surprise. Tried the 'Merica, Surly Doomtree, and the Witches Tower. All amazing. My only complaints were that they don't sell a flight, which is half the reason you go to a brewery, and the brewery tour doesn't run on Sundays.

An exquisite place to enjoy Surly's Beer. It's a brewery right? The service is great, the food is great and the beers speak for themselves. Don't bring your babies, they can't understand the tour or enjoy the beer. Be smart about that.

Fabulous beer, spacious taproom, and delicious pizza upstairs. I can't get enough of the specialty oil they have to go with the pizza- this needs to be bottled and sold at the Surly shop!

Love Surly beer! I'm from Indiana and will always be loyal to Three Floyd's Brewing, but Surly is definitely a close second as far as good craft beer goes. The tap room was insanely nice (maybe a touch overwhelming), and the patio is great for those beautiful MN summer days. Try the small batch rotating beers if you get the chance, you cant go wrong! P.S. i would love if Surly started distributing outside of MN!

Great place to gather with friends. The food are deliciously presented and there is a large selection of great beer.

I quote that old dude from Jurassic Park to describe the awesomeness that is Surly. This brewery "spared no expense" when it comes to meeting the modern beer drinkers need. Except no hefe weizen!

This establishment had excellent and prompt service. Their wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I had a group of 12 people and they were able to give each person their correct order and the correct bill since everyone was paying individually. We visited on a Thursday morning at 11:00am when the doors opened. Following lunch we took in the Brewery tour and that was equally as wonderful. The guide was fantastic, easy to understand and had a nice loud voice given the nosier environment that a working brewery can be. He had fun and was very engaging - the taste testing at the end was top notch! I highly recommend this as a place to visit and enjoy a meal. It is family friendly with a large outdoor patio space used for eating as well as playing bean-bag toss when the weather is appropriate. There is even a gift shop of course.

I have gone hear a bunch of times after work. The beer is always cold, and a friendly atmosphere.

Food was really good and good selection of beer. They have a large setup and were busy but didn't take long to be seated. Didn't get to take a tour. Go online at least 24 hrs before to make reservations.

Loved the tour and tasting, a great value and you get to keep the tasting glass! The food was wonderful and great beer. A little pricey but delicious. Great service.

I was here 7/14 with my bro. Great place to go with some friends or a huge crowd. Great selection of beer. Second Story outdoor seating as well. Chill atmosphere. They have a bar plus big food menu. I had the chicken sandwich.

Typically a long wait (upwards of 30 minutes) but their beer seems to make it go by quickly. Always good food and the beer is always fantastic. Summer is the best to hang out outside with some friends but it still feels cozy in the winter. Never disappointed when I leave.

The last time i was there. A group of us sat by the burnings, but it was broken and I got vertigo from the smell. When i go back i don't think i will b sitting right at the burnings again.

This place is amazing inside and out. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, the beer and the food! I loved that the menu had suggested beer pairings listed. The Gose was the best I've ever had. We can't wait to come back in summer and enjoy the outdoor patio!

A great taproom with amazing staff. Unfortunately I missed the tour, but I sure it was also wonderful. The beers are delicious. They make something for everyone, whether it be sours, IPAs, lagers, or anything in-between. They are truly dedicated to their craft of making good beer.

Not crazy about surley's beer but the selection at the restaurant/bar are really good and all the food we had was amazing. Staff is very friendly and even got a free glass from the bartender because of a small defect in the glass. The newly renovated outside patio is really awesome with plenty to do to keep you busy.

Stat rating is only for atmosphere and visual, sat at the bar for 15 minutes before being approached by anyone. When finally approached the 3 beers on the menu that sounded good to me were unavailable, the beertender simply rolled his eyes took the menu from me and scratched all 3 out, we looked at the other 4 menus available within 5 feet of us and they were not marked out on those either. The staff was uncaring and seemed bothered by the customers.

One of the best patios in the cities! They did an amazing job designing and creating a must stop for beer fans. The food looks very good with the prices being a little high, even though we did not order anything. Staff and service was excellent.

went with my mom, she ordered a burger, it came 5 minutes after she ordered it, it was ready before she ordered it, she said it made her feel ill. I got the gnocchi since I'm a vegetarian, it was good but not worth the price, small portion. The corn bread was also not very good. not very good vegetarian options. On our way out a server slammed into my mom and spilled her beer without saying anything. I told the hostess on our way out, wish I had actually spoken to a manager. Unbelievable. Won't be coming back. pricey and stupid. Should be compensated for beer that YOUR server spilled.

Fantastic outdoor area! There were dogs everywhere (always makes everything better ) Also, there where quite a few coffee flavored beer choices which I VERY much appreciated.

Big, beautiful brewery with a very large beer selection. Their tour is great, and you get to taste a few different beers, take a small souvenir glass home, and order another full beer afterwards. The food is a little bit more expensive than I'd like depending on what you order. I got a salad that had really high quality ingredients but it was $15 and wasn't quite filling enough for a full meal. Their burger/chicken sandwich/brisket sandwich is a little more reasonable.

Highly recommend the Surly Brewery Tour! A fun experience, even for your friends who may not be big craft beer fans. The taproom is unique and spacious, and there is plenty of outdoor seating on a nice day. Loved their Axe Man IPA and Heat Slayer Kolsch-style beer. Check it out!

Delicious Beer. Friendly Staff. Use outside bar when it's crowded (It's always Crowed for a good reason). Good Food. Wonderful backyard. Fire Pits. Corn Hole. Dog Friendly Outside. Family Friendly. Overall a Must Visit in Twin Cities!!!!!!!

Every time I am there the place is full. This is a Minneapolis destination as much as the Mall of America

Great beer, but very unfriendly staff treat you like a diseased animal, your patronage like a burden.

We love the tap room, food, beer, everything.

I want to especially say "Thank You!" for being family and kid friendly. My wife and I have brought our young daughter to the beer hall on weekends and her "New Mom's" group made a point of visiting as a group because the place is known as being really accommodating to parents with young children. Very cool in my book :)

They have a really cool ordering system during Covid. Loved it. Great wings, pizza, and beer. 1000% worth a trip.

Reserving a table right now is important. We didn't, and had to wait an hour because of it. No biggie, we took the time to walk around and see the area.

Everything is spaced out very well, and this is easily the most covid precautious place we've seen.

I like to go to Surly for lunch, avoiding the prime time rush period when there can be a wait. The beer is excellent, and they have a style for everyone - from the thick, dark, and sweet of Darkness to a sour beer like Pentagram to a wide variety hoppy beers within which there is a tremendous range of flavor. And there is everything in between. All of the food I've had has been very good, though a touch overpriced for some items, and sometimes they don't control the saltiness that well. But, that is nit picking. If you come here you're going to have an enjoyable food experience and great beer experience. I've yet to try the fancy restaurant upstairs but I intend to do so on a later visit.

Cool brewery with good beer. Outdoors are dog friendly and they host dog rescues. So you get beer, dogs, and outdoor fire pits.

Good beer, food, and service. -1 star because the echoey warehouse-style beer hall also had a DJ in it, making it even harder than the typical brewery to have a conversation. I probably wasn't the intended clientele though.

Cynic ale is the best, great Belgian brew. Had the cheese plate and was a good snack for parents with kids.

Went here while in Minnesota for a wedding based on the beers they had listed on their web site. Was very disappointed when we sat down at the bar and received the menu. It looked like a frat bro has decide what would be available on tap and there was literally a section for crushable beers on the menu. The menu had a very basic run of IPAs and a few other light beers. There was a single Dark Sour which was pretty good but that was it, UNLESS you wanted to drop $25 per bomber for a standard stout (i.e. NOT barrel aged) and the bombers just went up from there. Some of the best BARREL AGED beers I have ever had cost $20 to $25 per bomber, Surly is thinking they are in a higher league then Founders or DFH I guess. We have never been to a brewery with such mediocre options.

Other then the beer the atmosphere was okay, think industrial skate park, and the staff was polite.

Overall place was a huge let down and we feel it was a huge waste of our time to go there.

Pork shank was delicious, beer is always good here.

Best brewery tour we have done to date! Awesome facility, amazing beer and a wonderful gift shop with a large selection of swag.. We did the reserved tour, i reccomend getting there early since it was packed on a weeknight at 4pm.. also try to get reservations or put your name down asap for a table, it was very crowded..we still had some amazing food and sampled some more amazing beer.. awesome experience would go back!

The beer is the reason to to visit Surly. They have a tight selection of craft brew with a variety of scenery to sit and drink in. The food comes quick, but you can't customize a thing on the burger and most drive through patties are bigger and more flavorful.

Been wanting to check this place out for a while. Finally got the chance and oh man. What a place! Beer, awesome. Food, awesome. Atmosphere, awesome!

The food came out so fast it was amazing. The beer is good and the attitude of the place is nothing short of awesome. The staff is super attentive and friendly.

I've been to Surly several times for the beer (excellent beer) but hadn't eaten there. I was really surprised by how great the food was. The BBQ theme is done well with a solid variety to choose from.

Obviously, the beers are great. The brewery and location are great; placed right in the shadow of the UNITED CRUSHERS elevator. Can you get more Minnesotan? The food is very gastronomic and priced accordingly ($$$). Be warned, it gets extremely busy at time, but you never have to wait long for a beer.

Haven't been here for a couple years but, yup, this is kind of known locally as THE craft brewery destination in the Twin Cities.

Beer selection always pleases, the food is great (even though a few random reviewers are five star restaurant elitists -- Cute), the building is impressive.

Gotta make it back there this fall and take advantage of the huge outdoor firepit ring!

Went to a charity event at Surley and it was well organized, the staff were helpful, and the beer was great. What's nice about the brewery is that they are allowed to sell food here.

One of my favorite places to eat. Not only do the experiment with beer but also hot sauces! The hog frites are outstanding and they have new beers every week. Only negative is it is too child friendly...

This place is packed with people weekdays or weekends because of its amazing selection of great beers and food. I am not much of a drinker but wow I have to say their drinks are on point! Now We only had a issue waiting for food due to the miscommunication between chefs and waiters so that was tough. But otherwise Surly is amazing and I would recommend anyone from anywhere to go and try it. Eventually I came out of there satisfied and my girl friends were all happy. See you again Surly!

Orders are placed on your own smartphone. We ordered beverages first and food later. Masks are required in shared areas and when servers approach your table. Very organized staff and friendly servers. Hope to return while we can still sit outside.

Experienced the Surly tour. Very entertaining and educational. Enjoyed a delicious late lunch afterward and sampled a few more craft beers. Service, food, and atmosphere = A+.

Had a great time at the Surly brewery tour - interesting, funny and terrific beer! Want to go back and get a meal - the beer hall has a great vibe, and the food looked (and smelled) wonderful.

Staff is nice. My friend got a burger and choose medium but it was well done. We didn t complain so I can t comment on how the business would have responded. The beer and water we got were both not very cold. My Impossible burger was really good though.

Worst pizza ever! Don't decide by the pictures on the internet. Any frozen pizza is much better. The beers are "Minnesota average" at best.
No real reason to go back.

Surly was awesome, then they opened this monstrosity and are now trying to be the next Budweiser. The new facility is beautiful, albeit expensive, overrated beers, and you have to wait FOREVER for a table if you actually want to eat. If you can't get a table, have fun getting bumped into by people who have had too many IPA's. Try a smaller better brewery like Indeed, Fulton, or Dangerous Man.

The staff are very knowledgeable about their food and brews and gave excellent suggestions, I m still thinking about the food 24 hours. I love how happy the workers are it makes for a fun experience. The overall atmosphere and style is fun and classy. It s well organized even when the place is packed. Thank you!

Honestly, the location and decor is great, but they're always crowded. Good food, great pizza, and an average selection of reliable beer. I haven't tried the tour, but I've heard good things.
