We were not sure what we would find here but we are very pleased with the facilities once we arrived. They have some nice outside seating on ground level in some trees but it is a bit far from the bar, which is located on the second floor. They do have a nice patio right up the stairs just outside the bar area. They could use a few more tables but it is a great place to enjoy the beers and the spirits. The staff were friendly and the tour looked to be good.

Glad to have gotten to check this brewery out. The tasting room is large and has games to play as you enjoy their beverages. Tried their whiskey and was not pleased. They should stick to beer making

My favorite brewery in Texas! Place is awesome and the beers on tap here are delicious. If you can do a brew tour please do so as it's one of the best I've had. There's really nothing bad to say about this place except I don't live by it. If our anywhere near the area, please go here and make sure you try their gin. Arguably one of the best gin's.

Sitting in the tasting room, there is a lovely treetop view as the clouds roll by. Real Ale is not just a brewery, but home also to a distillery for gin and whiskey. We enjoyed our visit even though they had zero porters or stouts on tap... not even the Coffee Porter that is becoming fairly well known. I had a "Real Heavy" which is quite sweet compared to my usual choice of stouts and porters... still, very friendly service and large selection if you like IPAs and lighter colored beers.

Out of all the breweries I have visited in South T...

Out of all the breweries I have visited in South Texas, this one seems to have the largest brewing capacity (but is also the LOUDEST).

One thing I didn t realize is that they also distill their own gin and whiskey via the Real Spirits Distilling Co. You can purchase the gin and whiskey here, or you can order a specially crafted house cocktail if you aren t into beer.

This place is clean, up to date, and has friendly bar staff. BUT, it is loud AF, and PACKED. I stood at the bar for my first beer, and although I wanted to try a second beer, I just couldn t get over the loudness, and the bar scene. I d pick a quiet spot at the bar and then other customers would swarm to my area to place their order or mill about and hang out within my personal bubble. I just don t dig that if there s plenty of other open spaces at the bar. So, I fled after finishing my first beer. There are a few outdoor covered seating areas if you want a more relaxed vibe, but it was HAWT!!!

Most of Real Ale s beers can be found in a lot of grocery stores and liquor stores around South Texas, and they have a good variety of beers for each palette, so I suggest skipping the drive out to this brewery and just getting your fix at a local store or pub.

Parking is in a gravel lot and can be confusing. There s a no entrance sign before you drive into the parking lot, but I think it s supposed to be facing the other side street coming into the lot. Looks like it might have been turned around.

There s a collection of pictures of the character Rerun from an old sitcom named What s Happening? behind the far left side of the bar. Ask your server the story behind that.

Not what I expected the pub room was crowded with limited seating indoors. The Texas heat and beer surely is not a mix the beers were good didn't get a chance to try a mixed drink overall I just might make the trip again.

Rode in the Real Ale Ride May 19th in Blanco with two of my sons. It was a good ride & Real Ale was one of the sponsors & we had a choice of 4 beers as part of our ride registration. They allowed 4 different food trucks along with CLIF as part of the after ride celebration. All in all it was a fun experience. Hope to take a tour of the brewery next year.

Not your typical "Bud" tour. Super chill and technical. If your are a beer nerd or biology enthusiast, or have a tongue then you will enjoy your time here. Check tour times online and give yourself some time to sample a couple brews and then take your fave on the tour with you. Get a Flight of what you find interesting then do the tour. This is a true Texas gem. Beer is 5 stars and the tour is 5 stars. Venue is 5 stars. Experience was 5 stars.

I've been in dressing rooms bigger than the tasting room here. Friends and I could barely get to the counter to get a sippy cup of beer. The beers I tasted were decent, but not great, yet I found a few to keep my liver busy. The good thing here is that, because of a really stupid Texas law, Real Ale can't sell you beer on premises, which means you can sample as much as you want. SCORE! The tour is painfully long, but fairly interesting. If you have the attention span of a gnat, bring a puzzle book. No matter what disorder you have, wear comfortable shoes... You're gonna be there a while.

This rating isn't of the brewery or even the beer,. wnich I would give a 4 for the
IPAs, but of the weak plastic for the six pack of cans, from which they fall out very easily. In the long row of Texas beers at Total Wine, this is the only one that still does that. Seriously, why? Is there somebody that likes this?

Stopped by on a Friday afternoon for a brewery tour. At the specified time they rolled back the doors and exposed most of the ground floor. People strolled in, they started serving and the party was on.

Friendly people, great products and a Central Texas vibe made this a five star event.

Really enjoy the beer this brewery puts out. Love their Phoenixx even though it went to bombers vs. 12 oz bottle six packs. I am disappointed with Real Ale distribution. We were very limited in the Cypress (NW Houston) market with many of the large liquor stores not getting any bottles this year. Last year there was a much better availability. Again, very disappointed.

Hoppiness in a bottle! We had a great time on the 2016 Real Ale Ride cycling through the hills around Blanco and Kendalia. All you need is a bike, a trusted friend or two with whom to ride, a desire to climb, and a hankering for good beer!

The only reason why I'm giving this place a 2 is because of one of the bartender's. It's the shorter one who wears the glasses and has dark brown hair. She was very dismissive, unhelpful and rude. I'm not understanding why people work in customer service but have crappy attitudes towards patrons. The other two bartenders (tall female with that's & the male with curly hair) who were on staff today were excellent! They executed top-notch customer service with a smile. Thank you.

Server was not as friendly as she could have been. Small crowd on a beautiful day with lots of potential. When one of my beers on my purchased flight tasted terrible, she just said, "Yeah, sorry about that. A bad one gets through sometimes." Yes, they do.

Great beer and clean place! I would have given 5 stars but the customer service could use some help. The employees don't speak much and just hand you a piece of paper for you to write down the beers you want. Being friendly and outgoing should not be that difficult.

Added one star for the employee drinking at the bar that was cool enough to answer our questions, but the bartender (blonde female) that walked away TWICE while asking about ordering another drink to serve employees - WRONG ANSWER. Only serving males and ignoring my wife - WORSE. Was going to buy a bottle of whiskey as well, but she did a good job of killing that desire. To the owners: either get a second tender on staff for a weekday (seriously?) or make different staffing decisions. You cost yourself money today.
I'm still at the bar waiting for my bill while she chats up guy employees - should I just leave?

Was at a local bar one night a few weeks ago and they were doing a promotion for the Real Ale Coffee Porter. After falling in love with it we took a drive out to the brewery to see what else they had. Nice selection of beer and super friendly staff who helped with our choices. We choice some beer flights and ended up getting a few six packs to the home. Lots of variety and plenty of indoor and outdoor space. Dog friendly!

Very bad service, girl totally ignored us, then was helped by other person that walked in from warehouse, asked for dark beer selection, didn't have any so was given a couple of lighter beer samples but was then ignored when other customers came in. Had just purchased their Brown Ale at store the night before and was looking forward to trying it out fresh. What a disappointment and waste of time to drive out there. Will not do that again.

Worth the trip from Austin to see the area's most impressive brewery. Good events, and an impressive tour compared to most. Collectors love the Mysterium Verum series of eclectic beers, but the mainstays are also solid. Good place to get a taster.

Bought the mixed case... It was akin to drinking college beer with a microbrew price. I truly appreciate a microbrew so decided to give this a try (I'm a Vermonter, so my standard is pretty high, to be fair). The finish is super bitey, skunky even. I didn't notice any real difference in taste outside of the IPA, which was just okay. My wife has commandeered the 9 non-IPAs to be used for cooking, and I'm drinking the IPAs. Try one at a time, they come with a price tag, before weighing judgement for yourself.

I love going to breweries, and this one in specific has a special place in my heart. First of all the room in air conditioned so you can drink very comfortably in a sunny and hot air, they close a little early but believe me their beer is high in ABV so you really don't need to spend too much time there. The flavors are amazing and they have flights to try them all!
