The food quality and consistency has steadily decreased in the past 5 years. Prime example is the inability to ever have something the same flavor profile or heat profile from visit to visit. In college this was my go to date night restaurant. Now, I would definitely suggest another spot for a quasi-intimate meal to get to know someone where the staff is more courteous and food can be enjoyed as much as the company.

Quaint little Thai joint not far off the beaten path in Atlanta. Love the food here. The menu is not extensive, just a great section of Thai favorites and staples. This was the first Thai place I ever visited and is literally why I fell in love with Thai cuisine. I can't speak to crowds / wait for dinner and/or weekends, but I've never had a long wait eating here for lunch. Highly recommended!

Best Thai food I've ever had, and 80% of my meals ...

Best Thai food I've ever had, and 80% of my meals are from asian places (; The Spicy Noodle has the most incredible flavor and the portion leaves plenty for lunch the next day! I have only ever ordered this with beef and I will never try any other meat for this entree because it is such a great quality and the best flavor! Especially since most of my meals from other asian based restaurants do not have great quality beef and I am forced to get chicken because of it, I enjoy getting to order the yummy beef at Surin!

The coconut soup is also the best I have ever had and it comes in a dish that keeps it warm with a lit flame underneath. Plenty to feed two as well!

It may be a little crowded as the tables are super close together, but they do a great job here and no matter what you order you are sure to go home satisfied, and probably will leftovers!

I ordered the pad-see-u with chicken. It was absolutely delicious!! Very flavorful but not too salty. The broccoli was cooked perfectly. This was my first visit to Surin but it won't be my last.

I would LOVE to share a positive review.. As a Black Woman in this time, I would like to not think that the waiter would sit me near the kitchen, in a corner, near the waiter's station, IN AN ENTIRELY EMPTY RESTAURANT.. No window view, NOTHING.. He PURELY judged my appearance and automatically sat me AWAY from any form of view.. And versus seeking understanding in GOOD CUSTOMER/GUEST SERVICE, when I said I didn't want to sit at that table, he said "Okay" and proceeded to remove the menus from the table.. I would NEVER spend another moment in such an establishment that hires such disgusting minded & hearted beings..

Bad experience today Fathers day. My daughter was about to take a bite of her rice and found a medium size bug in it. We will never eat here again. The owner was very apologetic but a bug should not be cooked into the rice. The rice was cold as well. Never again:(

This is our FAVORITE place in Atlanta. My only pet-peeve is their terrible phone system. 90% of the time we call in for carry-out, their phone line is busy! I didn't even know lines could be busy anymore. On multiple nights, I've called 10 times over the course of an entire hour, and have given up trying to order carry-out. It's 2020! Get another line!!! I just want your food!!!

I hadn't been in a few years. It was not as good as I remember. The menu was limited - many were the same as a take out menu, the floral arrangement was gone- it used to add to the ambiance, and the energy was lacking - there used to be a flurry of patrons, servers, and an energetic bartender. I had the catfish. It was a large portion and done well.

A VA-Poncey favorite! Food is fresh and tasty w/soft shell crab and spring rolls as my all-time favorite. This spot is nice to bring a date & maybe peruse the neighborhood bars afterwards for some fun!

Prices are okay as are the curry dishes. Parking can be an issue in this neighborhood only because so many people enjoy various restaurants and stores in the area...

I guess I've been eating here on and off for over 20 years. Consistently good food and service. You can get better Thai for sure, but the menu is solid and varied, with reasonable prices. Lunch specials are a plus.

First off, let me say how much I normally absolutely love the food, service, and environment of Surins. I've recommended family and friends here for years. Decided since I have family in town I would bring them to my favorite place to eat. Dinner went well as usual until the end of the meal. We split the party in two and paid our meals accordingly. As i rose to leave after I paid both for with my meal with a tip I was approached by the older gentleman that I believe to be the owner since he is always there. He immediately asks me in a semi aggressive tone, "was there something wrong with the service" I replied no and he says then why didn't you tip. I replied I did tip that isn't my bill. He walks away and then approaches the other person at my table in the same manner. My brother in law had placed a 0 in the tip spot because he intended on tipping in cash which he did. Never did he apologize for his rude and accusatory manner. He just walks off. This seriously makes me not want to return or recommend Surins. You can't police people for a tip or assume we werent going to leave one. An apology and acknowledgement of the error would have soften the blow but he couldn't even oblige us with that.

Horrible!!!

Horrible!!!
I've been going to Surin for years, and lately they've become very minimal with their portions. If you get a rice to go, they don't give the full amount in the pint. The Panang Curry is also different, it used to be nice and thick now its loose and soupy. Also a hair was in the food!!

In the past I have loved lunch here but today was just lackluster. My coconut curry soup should have been called a broth, not a soup. It consists of 2 mushrooms and 2 tofu bits with very few green onions. My $9 pad Thai shrimp noodle dish was also stingy on the shrimp and green onions. Like I literally had only 2 shrimps on a $9 pad Thai and a bunch of chicken bits and eggs. Also my noodles and green onions were overcooked. The only saving grace was that they gave me extra bean sprouts. Otherwise I wish I had followed my first mind and picked up something else.

This has always been one of my favorite locations for Thai cuisine for many years, for dinner you can expect to spend $20 for an entree and anywhere between $7 - $12 for appetizers. The parking in the back is small and tight nonetheless its still parking, it will cost you $5 which you then can redeem for $3 upon paying for your meal. Lunch is a bargain and be mindful they are not open between 2:30pm - 5:30pm. No reservations are needed, ive never had an issue getting seating

Its been years since I went to surin. I remember it being better but maybe since it's been over a decade. The tom yum was good. I ordered the thai basil chicken, which was good but not the best. I think I remember the noodles being good here. The beef with lettuce appetizer was really good. My wife and I really like this place, but they don't have one in florida

Disappointing compared to what I remember from a few years ago. The Pad See Ew and Panang were very good, the Lad Na had no garlic, was almost dry and uses a sweet soy sauce - bizarre, the Massaman curry was off a bit too. Didn't help that the kitchen messed up the order.
The service was also exceptionally mediocre.

Best Thai food in midtown/downtown areas of Atlanta. If too busy to get a table the same owner also has a less formal eatery right up the street about one block. Same menu items, prices and quality (very high). Oddly enough for a Thai place it's called Harry & Sons.

Just came back from dinner at Surin of Thailand. When our bill came after we were charged, our credit card was not there. We looked everywhere at the table and under the table and could not find the credit card. During this entire time, the manager did not come to the table at all to check on us. No attention by the restaurant was given to this issue. Several people in the restaurant helped us look for the card and we couldn't find it. We left without our credit card. When I called to provide feedback, the manager over the phone said that it was not their fault. He didn't have to come over the table because he was busy running around the restaurant. He said that the card was later found and that was all that mattered. He was very rude over the phone and ended up hanging up the phone on me. Terrible customer service and no apology from the restaurant. They also refused to refund our money back for the meal. Horrible customer service.

Been coming here since 1997, and just returned after an 18mo absence. Not sure what changed but both dishes that have been go-to's for decades were awful. The fancy Thai sausage is a salad, but there was hardly any lettuce (downgraded to iceberg due to the recent e. coli outbreak) and the sausage looked burnt on the edges. As for the pad see ew, it tasted like sugar -- a very one-note sweetness, not the richer flavor of thai sweet soy sauce. Like my appetizer, the entree was paltry on some ingredients, namely the broccoli and chicken I expected to balance out the mass of noodles. For the 1st time in a lifetime, I sent Thai food back. I used to eat here at least once a week. This time I drove an hour 45min for the experience because I work on the other side of Atlanta. So disappointed :( Bring back rhe old cook and the 1/2 price appetizer Happy Hour!

We love Surin and have ordered takeout from the about once a month over the last four years. They are willing to make substitutions for us as vegetarians. Our favorites are the noodle dishes and the papaya salad. I do feel the portion sizes have gotten smaller over the last year, but I know food has gotten more expensive. We miss their old bartender Phil--he was amazing and a special person!

June 2019:

June 2019:
Make sure to get the chicken satay well done! It is SO good and fun to eat off the kabob stick! We tried the coconut curry one this time around and it was very very rich, and quite a different taste. It wasn't up our alley, but I'm sure some people would love it! The best is the spicy basil chicken!

Feb 2019:

Truly the best Thai in Georgia. I refuse to go anywhere else because this is truly the best Thai! Their pad see uu noodles are delicious! Spicy basil with chicken is out of this world! The sauce is heavenly. The chicken satay is AMAZING- get it well done and you won't regret it! Spring rolls are also very good.

Initial review:
came in here 45 mins before close and ordered immediately. First time ever going there and the food was amazing!! Truly recommend this place. I wish I can remember what we had, but I'm sure no matter what you order there, that it will be awesome.
