I stay here every three months for a week for work, it is so nice, the staff is always willing to help, the kitchenettes are nice to have. Very clean, has a pool and great restaurant on site, within 5 minutes of walking to the seven mile beach.

Quality service and amenities, great location, good value.
Sunshine Suites is just a five minuet walk from seven mile beach. It has an excellent restaurant, pool, and outside lounge chairs (in range of the WiFi). The room was comfortable and clean but not exceptional. There was a full sized fridge and freezer. It wasn't very well equipped for real cooking. There is a very good continental breakfast every morning. It is also the best value for I found, with its close proximity to the beach and easy access to the rest of the island.
Sunshine suites is a sister hotel to Westin and allows you to access Westin's amazing patch of 7 mile beach and other facilities. Staff is great and welcoming, rooms are spacious. Bar by the pool has great cocktails and grilled dishes. You get a full kitchen with utensils and dinnerware. We caught some fish with local fisherman and cooked in the hotel. It turned out great. Overall hotel is a great deal for the price. Took 1 star off because hotel has abit dated renovation and included breakfast is bare minimum.
Suites are extensively good with state of the art infrastructure. Laundry services are entertained, beautiful pool area next to sunshine grill. The staff is amazing Ms Louise handles all the food orders really well while Ms Bhakti, front desk manager and her team are always around to support whenever needed. Security is also takes seriously throughout the stay.
Had a great time in Cayman and my stay at Sunshine Suites! I would definitely stay here again. Great location and the food at the Cafe was pretty good also.
Sunshine Suites is a lovely property with wonderful staff. Warm, friendly, and hospitable all around.
The location can't be beat. It's easy to get anywhere on the island by public bus or on foot. Walk to grocery stores, restaurants, banks, liquor stores, etc. The Westin sister property is just across the street and the relationship makes it easy to utilize the facility and their amenities.
The Sunshine Grill offers delicious food, great drinks, and a fun staff. Try the shrimp tacos and thank me later.
Everything on the island is pricey. But, the value at Sunshine is beyond compare.
Convenient location on Seven Mile Beach. Owned by Westin but are not able to receive Starwood points. Rooms are cozy and clean. Great pool area and hotel is within walking distance to several attractions on Seven Mile Beach.
The resort is really nice on the outside. The food was tasty and the staff was pretty friendly. The downside are the dated rooms. My room's tub had a huge crack in it and could feel the tub sink when I stepped in it. Rooms could use an upgrade, but they're doable.
I am not sure why this place gets such high reviews. The rooms are very outdated including old toilet seats, moldy smelling bathrooms, and the carpet needs to be shampooed. The only value of this place is the access to The Westin and the good food. If only they would thoroughly clean and or update the rooms. It would be a perfect place to stay.
My family and I just finished a week's stay at Sunshine Suites (this was our 3rd staying there in the past 3 years). We've also stayed at Treasure Island (now Margaritaville), Comfort Suites, and Margaritaville, but Sunshine Suites by far is our favorite place. Being able to use the Westin Hotel's amenities (their beach, beach chairs, unlimited towels, being able to charge to the room, pool & hot tubs, wifi on the beach) is the biggest plus bc you can use Westin facilities without paying Westin prices. My family of 4 (2 teenagers, me & hubby) stay in deluxe suite with 2 queen beds and kitchen. Great way to save money on small meals. Breakfast is very satisfying - hardboiled eggs, pancakes, yogurt, fruit, cereal, toast, etc.- until lunch or dinner time. Short 5 min walk across street to Westin and short 5 min walk to Cost U Less {warehouse type store) where you can buy food items, etc. Sunshine Suites has a golf cart type vehicle to drive you across street to Westin - but we just walk the short walk. We like to stay all day at the Westin cause their beach, pool, 2 hot tubs, restaurants, etc are great - we rarely use the Sunshine Suites pool. Westin lets you get new towels without being fussy about how many or returning wet ones (like so many other resorts do). Wifi on Westin beach and throughout pool areas is loved by our 2 teenagers. Is the room at Sunshine Suites like the ones at Westin? Of course not, but rooms are clean & staff is friendly. We highly recommend!
We had breakfast and lunch their 2 different times during our 10 day anniversary trip. All the reviews are true!! The food is amazing, the service is with a smile. The way it should be when your on vacation. And its not a $100 dollar breakfast like the Ritz. It's like a 1/3 of the cost but much better!!!!!
Great place, very clean, excellent restaurant (Sunshine Grill). Only reason it didn't get five stars was lack of view. But it gets 4.5 for having free access to it's sister property, The Westin. Short walk and you have all for free what the Westin offers for free. Excellent deal.
This was our 2nd time staying here and we new what to expect enjoyed our stay both times love the area and what it has to offer. Rooms are old and need some updating. However we arent picky travelers and arent in Caymans for the rooms.
My main issue is that we were there a few weeks ago when the carribean had a massive earthquake of 7.7 magnitude everyone was really shaken up. We had arrived to the hotel at noon early and I had messaged the Hotel prior to our arrival to ask if it were possible to get early check in got there and room was not available which was fine we had a 1yr old that usually takes a nap at 1pm but we were ok with just waiting at the beautiful 7 mile beach no problem left our luggage and headed over to the beach. 2pm earthquake happens everyone is completely frightened. 2:15pm tsunami warning and pandemonium breaks out people running away from the beach screaming get to "higher ground tsunami warning". We all run back with a 1yr old on my hip and a 10yr old crying frantically scared to death. We get to sunshine suites everyone runs up to the 3rd floor employees and travelers people staying at sunshine suites all up there just sitting and waiting on the floor for about an 1hr lucky I had Twitter to get up to the minute updates. The employees didnt know much and were getting updates from me. My 1 yr old fell asleep in my wife's arms who was sitting on the floor. After about an hr and half I notice people going into the front desk area like business as usual so I go down at 330pm and ask for my room and was told it wasn't ready yet meanwhile I see the owner checking people in and out. Which I found very wierd as there were still patrons upstairs sitting on concrete scared to death of a tsunami not once did the owner even come up to check on people .One of the cleaning staff approaches my wife and asks why she isnt in her room with the baby and we say cause rooms arent ready yet she tells us that there are 4 rooms she just finished cleaning and are empty ready for occupancy. So I go back down and ask again and I was rudely told that the rooms arent ready yet its now 4pm they are well aware I have a 1yr old sleeping on the concrete up on the 3rd floor . I absolutely lost it when I see new patrons just arriving recieving rooms while I am still waiting. I saw 2 other people just arrive and get rooms b4 us. I finally got a room at 430pm. We experienced about 20 aftershocks for 2 days after all ranging from 6.6 to 6.1 . I just felt the hotel was not very equipped to handle an emergency of that nature and I felt like were on our own. The hotel needs to have protocol and should have better managed the situation. Just be aware that if something does happen you are most likely on ur own the hotkey wont have any answers for you.
We went to the restaurant multiple times only to find large wait times. They host was rarely there and we had to wait a long time just to talk to someone about a table. He actually walked by and ignored us mutliple times before finally even asking my name and party size. Then a group came in that missed their reservation by an hour and the host gave them a table ahead of us. We left. We never did eat there. They have a horrible first impression and they missed out on our business. They need to work on their customer service.
Some of my friends from the States stayed here and I finally had a chance to check the place out. It s pretty cool. Nice pool with a restaurant/bar. Looks like they re putting in elevators for the upper floors. Decent size rooms with TVs, refrigerators, stoves, microwaves and coffee machines. I d stay there myself if I didn t have my own place in West Bay...
I'll always remember this hotel as being the only one I've ever had amazing sleep at. Everything was spic and span, so clean. I have never felt this kind of comfort anywhere. The area is as safe as can be. The people are so nice. Literally all the staff is great, helpful, always with a smile. They offer a full kitchen with ALL utensils, pots, pans, silverware, fridge, toaster, microwave, stove, and more. The Sunshine Grill restaurant on the property is delicious and by the pool seating is available. This is the most grand experience you can possibly get for the price. Many yummy restaurants and Foster's (grocery store and pharmacy) are walking distance. The Westin is the sister property of Sunshine, which the guests can take total advantage of. I enjoyed both hotels! My mother and I shared a two bedded room that was great. The only downside is if you're a very light sleeper, the free-roaming roosters (yes, roosters) will probably cockadoodledoo you out of your mind very very early in the mornings. Personally, I did not find them to be disturbing, but then again, I'm not a light sleeper. Overall, this hotel is fantastic. I will recommend to anyone who's looking for excellent quality at the cheapest possible price. Oh, and that resort fee is totally worth every penny IMO.
Not elegant, but beautiful for sure. It was everything our group of 15 people needed. They will shuttle you to their sister hotels (like The Westin ) where u can swim up to the bar and still charge your drink to your room at Sunshine. love love love the sunshine suits.
Stayed here many times. Many improvements over the years. Rooms got make overs. Elevator is a big help as we get older moving heavy bags to the top floor. Staff is very good and always very helpful. Now that the Westin hotel can be used across the street made it a game changer. staff there very helpful with anything you need. Beach is so close with beach service from Westin makes for a better beach day. You can order drinks or food and charge it to your room. My only very minor issue is the room AC is loud, bathroom door painted so many times hard to close. Water in shower goes from hot to cold as you use the shower. As stated very minor issue. Rooms are very clean housekeeping does a great job keeping things clean. WiFi, it there not very fast if you need to do work and down load a file, it could take a few. I found no security with open WiFi. However Claudia at the front desk set me up with security on the WiFi that's needs your name with room information, so I felt better. I will be back again. I like a place I know and am familiar with, staff that cares about your stay with them. How can I forget sunshine grill for the best tacos around. The grill is part of sunshine property and great place to eat when staying there or near by.
Nice having a mini kitchen with stove top and fridge. Separate sitting area with couch and table is nice feature. Small bathroom, newer vanity but could use updated shower. Nice having access to Weston across the street with beautiful beach. Resturant on premise is highly rated.
Nice hotel with large clean rooms. Onsite pool and free breakfast from 0600-0930 and free dinner at 2230. Family friendly. Free shuttle to around hotel. Hotel is owned by the Westin so enjoy all the benefits of the Westin directly across the street. Minus 1 star for not having toothpaste on my visit. All the stores near the hotel plus the Westin didn't offer it which caused a huge inconvenience for me- but will stay again.
This place is nice but very outdated. The bonus to staying here is in the savings while you get to use all the amenities at the Westin across the street.
Great clean no frills place. Nice bar and grill. Access to the Westin property across the street on the beach. They bought this place recently so they treat sunshine guests equally as well as Westin guests
Pleasantly surprised - decent accommodations and the best part is that you can use all the amenities at the Westin across the street for free. The Sunshine Grill has good food and a bar - they're locally famous for their fish tacos. I'd say the hype was warranted.
Fantastic Hotel, everything you need and just off glorious Seven Mile Beach! Quiet hotel that is perfect for any traveller. Staff were so kind and went out of their way to make our stayunforgettable!!My family and I will definitely be returning!
Loved this spot. Was recommended by numerous friends and now I can see why. We had a very tasty lunch here. The reuben was tasty and the fry mixture even better.
Stayed here for 2 weeks. Perfect little kitchenette with everything you need. Continental breakfast met all our needs. About 50 steps to the beach. Bought the Westin day passes and really it was great for the beach, but the Westin staff had nothing on the Sunshine staff in terms of hospitality and friendliness. I would love to stay here again. Plus the restaurant was amaaaaazing.
This motel has clean rooms with kitchenettes. It is an older style motel with outside corridors. It is owned by the Westin across the street. They are slowly updating the rooms. The Sunshine Grill is part of the motel complex. A continental breakfast is included. It is considered a smart option on the island as it is comparatively inexpensive but comes with full privileges of the Westin across the street.
Great place if you want to visit the island and spend less for your accommodation Breakfast choices were good Just a line for the delicious waffles but they only have one waffle iron You can use the Westin facilities which are fabulous this place is a win win Will return again Staff is the best knowledgeable and kind Highly recommend
For the price paid, this hotel falls short. The rooms are nice and comfortable but the exterior could do with an upgrade. The breakfast that is included is pretty basic and all pre-prepared, no cooked stuff. If you want cooked, that's extra. On the plus side, the staff seem helpful and responsive enough.
Haven't stayed here, but I have eaten here LOTS of times. Best burgers and fish tacos on island. Great place for kids too. You can sit outside at tables around the pool. Don't miss out on the flavor of the day soft serve for dessert (complimentary)!
Although it is a nice place with many facilities, spacious rooms, I think as other comments say the maintenance could be improved (in terms of room service) the place is nice and nice with access to the beach.
The best place i have ever been at. Breakfast included, nice bedding and super nice workers. Would highly recommend and also amazing food at sunshine grill. BEST FAMILY VACATION SPOT EVER.
Excellent service both for the hotel and the cafe. You get all the Westin amenities at half the price. Very clean and rather large rooms. Free wifi and a liquor store right around the corner. I would highly recommend staying here it is just a walk across the street to the beach and you will be able to use everything the Westin has to offer!
Best part - staff. The people were friendly and helpful. If this resort didn't partner with the Westin, my rating would be much lower since this resort is NOT on Seven mile beach. It's just behind the Westin, however you can use Weston's beach and towrl service as well as their other facilities which made up for it. Also, I really wish their breakfast had some savory components, like eggs. It was all sweet things.
Basic rooms. I dont believe it is worth the 5 star price. Bathroom tubs need to be changed as they are badly stained. The AC units are dated and noisy. It is more like a motel. Rooms are fresh though.
Fish tacos were just unbelievable! Right across the street from the Westin and even the staff at the Westin will recommend these over their own fish tacos!
