My review may be a bit biased, as Grand Cayman is my absolute favorite place in the world. This was our first fly-in, and we stayed at Sunshine Suites. Pleasant staff and prompt check-in. Booked a one-bedroom king suite for two adults. Clean room, well-stocked, and plenty of room to not get in one another's way.

The king suite comes complete with a pull-out sofa, two televisions, a full-size fridge, and stocked kitchenette. The main office sells (some) beer, sodas, and snacks. BUYER BEWARE: Two 12 oz. Coca Cola cans cost me $6/US.

Grounds were manicured nicely and clean. On-site dining options include Sunshine Cafe and Sunshine Grille. The former of the two is open for continental breakfast only, 630-930a. Diabetics beware, extremely limited options for you. The Sunshine Grille boasts a full breakfast menu (I highly recommend the omelet with spinach! ). Be sure to come back for lunch and dinner, too! Burgers are phenomenal - and huge!

Don't forget to stop by for a nightcap. Sit inside and enjoy a drink while chatting with staff and other guests, or relax around the color-changing pool.

Now affiliated with the Westin directly across the street on Seven Mile Beach, as a guest of SS, you have access to all of their amenities-gym, pools, beach chairs/ umbrellas, shopping, and dining

Sunshine Suites comes highly recommended by me! Should we return for another fly-in, we'll book here!

Great staff. That is the only reason this place scores so high. It's fairly feature devoid and the rooms are dated. But the staff are amazing. They are always friendly and there for you.

We were scheduled to stay 9 nights in February and my Mom had a medical emergency that I needed to attend to, resulting in our having to postpone our first time trip to Grand Cayman. I realize that I was inside of the 7 night cancel policy, (cancelling 2 days prior to date of arrival) and that their policy is to keep the one night's room rate plus tax, but you would think in this particular situation, they might have tried to be more understanding and waive the one night deposit penalty, especially when I said we would be rebooking with them at a later time. I'm pretty sure they filled our room, as this was February 21-March 1 which is a very popular time to travel to GCM. I will think twice before I rebook at this property!

Best fish tacos I've eaten in Grand Cayman. Every time we're in Cayman we make multiple visits to Sunshine Grill and get consistently good food every time. The wahoo escovitch is a great appetizer that we recently began ordering.

Great affordable location! Across the street from the beach and allows use of full amenities from the Westin--you can even charge to your room # which is handy because you dont have to bring your wallet everywhere. The Sunshine Grill is as good as everyone says it is. Best fish tacos in town! Nice well cared clean rooms if a bit older--but brand new Samsung Smart TVs.

Excellent location and value. Just a short walk, maybe half a block and across the street to the Westin, a sister facility, with complimentary access to the best beach in the world. If you are on a budget, or prefer to spend your money sailing and snorkeling like we did, Sunshine Suites is a great option. Very friendly staff.

I couldn't have had a better experience in Grand Cayman! The staff at Sunshine Suites were the friendliest people and so helpful. The Sunshine Grill was so convenient and delicious, we ate there every day! The front desk was always so nice and helpful with everything from what to do, what not to waste your money on and calling us a cab whenever we needed one. It may not be right on the beach but if you want to save a little bit of money and get a little exercise walking across the street to get the water, this is the best option on the island! I will definitely be back!

Very popular with guests looking for value for money. Across from Seven Mile Beach and on the bus route into George Town. Next to a Costco type store so you can pick up breakfast and lunch supplies. Within walking distance of several restaurants and cafes.

Sunshine Suites is a pleasant hotel. The room I stayed in was equipped with kitchenette. It's functional but I don't recommend it for a stay if you plan to stay indoors because it's a bit small. However if you're working it's ok for a 2-night stay. The Sunshine Grill on the property is great for food and drinks - meals are big and prices are definitely value for money. Best of all this is the 'sister' property to the Westin and if you're someone who needs a good workout, the gym is absolutey great.

Wonderful hotel. This was the second time we stayed here. The Suites are excellent and you ALSO you get to spend all day at at their partner Westin Resort across the street on the beach. The rooms are fine. Beds are quite comfy. Big TV. Wifi is fine. Housekeeping does a great job. All perfect. Continental breakfast is very good: hot pancakes, muffins, pastries, breads, bananas, orange slices, delicious yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cereal, juices, coffee. The Sunshine Grill, next to the pool, is really excellent. Superb burgers. Delicious fried brie balls. Love the jerk chicken rolls. Superb wait staff (and front desk, too). All good! P.S.: don't miss the FANTASTIC Yoshi Sushi next door! And Peachwave froyo! Eats Cafe is really good, too!

The rooms at every clean and modeled after a traditional motel but with the convince of a kitchenette. The ability to use the Weston's services dramatically elevates this hotel. They are a child of the Weston and guests ate well treated by the Weston staff. There are two separate and distinct Wi-Fi networks which is somewhat annoying.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean. The onsite restaurant has food so good that's it draws the locals. It's a short walk to the beach and full access to the beachside facilities at the Westin, their sister resort. I deducted a star only because taking a shower was an alternating experience of freezing cold or scorching hot, with very brief moments of just right. Also, our telephone would not make local calls. Nevertheless, we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Simple but elegant. Rooms were clean and the staff really went out of their way to provide excellent customer service. You get to use all the facilities of the Westin across the street and the restaurant in the hotel (Sunshine Suites) has by far the best burger and fish tacos on the island. This will be my first choice hotel in the Cayman Islands from now on.

Food and service are great. Reception and restaurant staff are always friendly and greet you with a smile. Wait times are long at restaurant cause it's so popular with guests. You can visit their sister property across the street and use facilities for no additional cost - Big Plus!

This is a review of the grill restaurant. It is supremely popular and only Westin and Sunshine Resort guests can make advance reservations. We got there at 5pm so we could get a table for 8 without reservations and got the last place. Delicious food and amazing drinks. Not too pricey, on par with the island but worth it. Will definitely eat here again. Great place!

we had a license plate stolen from our rental car while parked outside our room. Parked on the main road, just to the left of the rental office, in front of a street light. We rarely used the car and when we did we were at highly populated areas. Room is fair, (rate 2/5), nothing special but was nice to have a small fridge and stove. We chose the Sunshine Suites as a economic alternative to the 5-star cost of its sister property as we had an extended stay.

Food is great at the Sunshine Grill. Service is not so great. Workers are not really friendly and do not seem to enjoy their jobs. The room was perfect for what we needed it for-sleeping. The water temperature was erratic in the shower. It was great that we were able to use the amentities at the Westin. We spent the majority of our time there.

Loved this resort..at first I was unsure because I didn't see ocean..but realized it was across the way..the staff are unbelievable and the food at Sunshine Grill is to die for...we got deals for everything we wanted to do through the hotel and they helped arrange the transportation also. By far so much better than anywhere I've stayed in cancun or any other place I've traveled...loved it. Plus it was honeymoon they even ga e us complimentary wine..

Just got back from a fabulous vacation in Grand Cayman! Sunset Suites was a wonderful choice for my family. Clean rooms, friendly staff and all the bells and whistles without the frills of a pricey overcrowded hotel. Bonus was the use of facilities of Westin to then comeback to the peaceful oasis of Sunshine Suites. Continental breakfast was good with a lot of choices, more than I expected from free breakfast and after reading some reviews. Staff really impressed me as they go the extra mile. At check out the clerk heard me say how I needed to vacuum car before returning and she even got someone!!!!

*** Just realized this was saved as a draft and never posted. Went 1 year ago in August.

I love this place...not as fancy as some places on island, but the rooms are big and clean, the Grill is delicious and the people fantastic. The fish tacos and wahoo tacos are the best I've ever had, and the burger is perfection. They have a relationship with the Westin across the street so you can use the beach amenities there.

My husband and I recently stayed with Sunshine Suites for our honeymoon this June. We could not recommend it enough! Upon finding out that we were on our honeymoon they upgraded our suite free of charge. Cait at the front desk was super helpful and gave us some great advice on what to do on the island during our stay. The food at the Sunshine grill was delicious and in our opinion better than a lot of the more upscale restaurants. And the perk of getting to use all of the Westin amenities across the street was a fantastic plus.

Loving visit to Cayman Island and Sunshine suites is nice on the surface. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I don't think the floors are ever washed, which I realized after my first shower. My feet were filthy black walking from bathroom to bed. The worst management decision is presently going on (5-19-2016 12:30 AM) outside my room window. It can only be described as trying to fall asleep at the starting line of a car race. The engine of a pressure washer continually revs up and down while workers wash the sunshine grill. When asked if this was necessary, I was told it would continue at least 1 hour. Tried to call front desk to complain and no answer, which is an effective way to no manage complaints or issues that arise for clients. This resort had great reviews, I guess I am just unlucky to be here at a time when management decisions are bit on the crazy side!

Absolutely go here for a cheap place to stay off Seven Mile Beach. The Sunshine Grill has amazing fish tacos. A liquor store is a short walk toward the beach and has three great restaurants next to it. Yoshi Sushi is one of them, and it was one of the best Sushi restaurants I have ever ate at. Cost-U-Less is in the shopping area directly North for any food or things needed at the hotel. Living the Dream divers and a snorkel shop next to Yoshi and the liquor store can provide all your Stingray tour and Scuba Diving needs. Absolute BEST of all is that the Westin Grand Cayman is a complete sister property, so you can go to their beach and pool EVERY DAY at no charge, use all their facilities, and sign up for all their events and sunset excursions. You can even use your Sunshine Suites room number there. I would highly recommend this place so you can save some money on the room and spend it all doing everything else in the Caymans!

Food was excellent. I was there for a pool party and all we had was sliders and tacos, but they all tasted great. I have always heard great things about the Sunshine Grill, now I know why.

Overall this is a great deal. The rooms are dated but they work great if you like preparing your own food for time to time. It's a short walk to the beach, 5 mins, and even if you have to cross a busy road it is not a big deal since there is a cross path with traffic lights for pedestrians, plus drivers let you pass all the time.
The advantage to be close to this road is you can grab public transport $2.50 US very easily and get other parts of the island. This vans go through about every 5-10 mins.
The other great deal about this is you can use the Westin Hotel's facilities, ask for towels, gym, etc. The beach area is really nice although I wish people would not bring their drink in the water which I saw a lot.
There is a supermarket walking distance, Costco like ( US) but you do not need a membership and a few restaurants but great plus is Sunshine Grill, from the attentive servers and the great food this place is amazing!

Sunshine was good. I just came for the restaurant that was near there but it seemed nice. The restaurant was fantastic. I believe it was called sunshine grill but I'm not sure. I highly recommend it.

Very friendly staff. Sadly our treatment by their sister hotel, The Westin has ensured that we shall not be returning. However my wife and I would like to thank the kind reception staff at the Sunshine Suites.

Very good place, I stayed there for 40 day, the only problem is that the wifi doesn't works properly in the hole room, and there's no many things to eat at breakfast, but the attention of the staff is nice, very good location.

First time here and we love it! The staff is great, very helpful and nice. The food in the grill restaurant is awesome and you can cook at the rooms as well. Very clean and comfy, and the Westin facilities are awesome.
