This was our 2nd time staying here and we new what to expect enjoyed our stay both times love the area and what it has to offer. Rooms are old and need some updating. However we arent picky travelers and arent in Caymans for the rooms.

My main issue is that we were there a few weeks ago when the carribean had a massive earthquake of 7.7 magnitude everyone was really shaken up. We had arrived to the hotel at noon early and I had messaged the Hotel prior to our arrival to ask if it were possible to get early check in got there and room was not available which was fine we had a 1yr old that usually takes a nap at 1pm but we were ok with just waiting at the beautiful 7 mile beach no problem left our luggage and headed over to the beach. 2pm earthquake happens everyone is completely frightened. 2:15pm tsunami warning and pandemonium breaks out people running away from the beach screaming get to "higher ground tsunami warning". We all run back with a 1yr old on my hip and a 10yr old crying frantically scared to death. We get to sunshine suites everyone runs up to the 3rd floor employees and travelers people staying at sunshine suites all up there just sitting and waiting on the floor for about an 1hr lucky I had Twitter to get up to the minute updates. The employees didnt know much and were getting updates from me. My 1 yr old fell asleep in my wife's arms who was sitting on the floor. After about an hr and half I notice people going into the front desk area like business as usual so I go down at 330pm and ask for my room and was told it wasn't ready yet meanwhile I see the owner checking people in and out. Which I found very wierd as there were still patrons upstairs sitting on concrete scared to death of a tsunami not once did the owner even come up to check on people .One of the cleaning staff approaches my wife and asks why she isnt in her room with the baby and we say cause rooms arent ready yet she tells us that there are 4 rooms she just finished cleaning and are empty ready for occupancy. So I go back down and ask again and I was rudely told that the rooms arent ready yet its now 4pm they are well aware I have a 1yr old sleeping on the concrete up on the 3rd floor . I absolutely lost it when I see new patrons just arriving recieving rooms while I am still waiting. I saw 2 other people just arrive and get rooms b4 us. I finally got a room at 430pm. We experienced about 20 aftershocks for 2 days after all ranging from 6.6 to 6.1 . I just felt the hotel was not very equipped to handle an emergency of that nature and I felt like were on our own. The hotel needs to have protocol and should have better managed the situation. Just be aware that if something does happen you are most likely on ur own the hotkey wont have any answers for you.
