Driving 2019 Camaro Convertible over it with top down!

The remains of the old bridge are now a pier you can drive and park.At the end is a bait and tackle shop.
While casting toward the new bridge, a dolphin surfaced and walked backwards on his tailfins, talking like "Flipper"! My teen daughter and her girlfriend were thrilled. Depending on your bait and tackle...you might catch anything from a tiny pinfish
to a 400 lb. Jewfish.

If you're looking to get from St Petersburg to Bradenton without a boat, then this is the best and fastest way possible.

It's a bridge. I crossed it with out any ship running into it ,so I guess that's a good thing. Btw love love love the light affects at night

It's very tall so the cruise ships can get into the bay...very beautiful.

It's a bridge, people like to go slow in the passing lane so they can see the sites.

The Sunshine Skyway, is a beautiful bridge. Is say, it is where Tampa Bay meets the Gulf of Mexico in St. Petersburg, FL. I crossed over it the first time in July1957 when I was 10 years old.

This bridge is amazing and provides beautiful views of the waterways. Not sure what the speed is however I learned pretty quickly to stay in the right lane so people in a hurry do not ride my tail!!

Excellent views, though you would think after all these years, and tech being what it is, there would be more of a user friendly page with wind warnings and if the bridge is open or closed.

Its not that I visited but I had to get from A to B.

The lights at night are 50/59 at best! With everything going wonky in this world can we please have the bridge light properly? On October 10th the lights are not light properly on the north side of the bridge.

Wow. Amazing. Love this town. A great view. Definitely a picturesque spot to view our AMAZING WORLD. I COULD SEE MARINE LIFE SWIMMING ALONG, TURTLES AND DOLPHINS & TONS OF SEA BIRDS DIVING INTO THE OCEAN BLUE FOR THEIR NEXT MEAL. 360* VIEWS

There are rest areas on both sides of the bridge which are being renovated so 1 of them maybe closed. There is also several scenic spots BEFORE the bridge and while the top of the bridge has outstanding views it is NOT a place to slow down and stick your phone/tablet out the window to take pictures. There is also fishing piers on both sides of the bridge. The traffic can be pretty bad during the rush hour, sometimes it can just traffic or there has been a crash and everyone is rubbernecking. I highly suggest purchasing a Sunpass as the tolls are cheaper with it over cash.

Stellar landmark! The shifting color LED lighting beimg installed on the lower supports really add a touch of elegance and gracefulness to an already fantastic and historic monument. This is a must see tourism attraction now!

I drive over this bridge everyday going to work. I love how they put beautiful lights on bridge!

Fantastic views of the of Tampa Bay. This elevated roadway actually soars to a fairly high altitude to provide those amazing views. If your travel brings you across the bridge, be happy and enjoy! 4 stars only because of the name of the bridge is named after a partisan.

Roads are smooth, plenty of rest areas to stop and experience the ocean from the side of the bridge. Bathrooms are available as well.
Easy access to get from Bradenton area to Tampa or Clearwater.

Love traveling over this monster it always impresses me quite the engineering feat.

Looks amazing!! I cant help but be concerned with the impact on the world below the water line.. how will it affect the marine life that lives and flows with the tides underneath the bridge? Time will tell whether it's good or bad or to no affect at all. Should a new type of monitoring be set up? Maybe it already has been?

Who goes south from Tampa to Heading for Miami, the Sunshine Skyway Bridge over Tampa Bay also passes by. It is an impressive structure with ramps at both ends to provide clearance for large ships. If you have passed the bridge to the south, then you can turn right to walk on a parallel old bridge section (subject to admission) or drive on with the vehicle. It is mainly fished here, there is a lot of operation, mainly on weekends, mostly it is men with their children who want to bring a good catch home. You should plan a good hour, if you want to complete the bridge segment to the end and back again - but the view of the beautiful new bridge is spectacular and in good weather, it's great fun to let the wind blow around your nose to watch the anglers and the many big birds that each occupy a lamppost. A very welcome change on a long drive!

Sunshine Skyway Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge spanning the Lower Tampa Bay connecting St. Petersburg, Florida to Terra Ceia. The current Sunshine Skyway opened in 1987 and is considered a symbol of Florida.

Of course of history of this bridge is extremely sad, so if you don't know the real story please look it up. The bridge is quite amazing.

200 ft up atleast with a magnificent view of the tampa bay to the horizon . Smooth paved large half elliptical shaped bridge.

It is a spectacle to see it at dawn ... it impresses

Watch out for the want-to-be NASCAR drivers that should still have training wheels. LOL
