Fun for the whole family. Great trails for ski and snowboarding, affordable ski passes.
Fun for the whole family. Great trails for ski and snowboarding, affordable ski passes.
I went up for skiing. It's nice and close to city, but for how poor the snow is and few lifts, it's a little more expensive than I'd like. Otherwise, a nice beginners resort.
My favorite place in Utah hands down. The scene, people and all around vibe is amazing. Visit as soon as possible!
So peaceful and inspiring! Water flowing downstream, birds singing praise, and crisp clean air. Cabin accommodations very comfortable, clean and cozy. Staff at every encounter were friendly, genuine, and driven by customer satisfaction. Cannot wait to return!
The resort is all decked out for Halloween. The setting is as calm and peaceful as it can be for this time of year, ahead of the upcoming snow season. The staff are always polite and very courteous.
Sundance is a beautiful ski and summer resort that is very accommodating to guests. Attended a mountain bike race and the trails were amazing.
Rode the lift to ride the trails. Super friendly staff. I also had to use the bike shop to plug a puncture hole from a rock. The shop guys were fast and fair priced. Def planning on going again.
A fantastic, authentic, and tasty meal can be found at any of the dining establishments located in Sundance. Let the amount you'd like to spend determine your final eating place...
Thank you for the most pleasurable experience! We enjoyed the cabin so much, the check in guy, Taylor, was top notch and took super good care of us.
The food at Sundance is the best we've had in awhile, and we live in Park City. Our waiter, Charlie, in the Foundry, was just great! We may go back just to see him again :)
We will be back. We just may start thinking of Sundance as our home away from home.
We went up to hike. Friendly staff and beautiful scenery
Held a incentive activity at their theater, everything was very organized and its always well kept. However, parking is always a pain!
Beautiful at night! We were there for an event and had a great time!
Friendly people, great service, beautiful architecture, great skiing, wonderful nature, delicious food, great spa, great activities, I have nothing bad to say about Sundance... love this place
I love the place because it is beautiful but I am really disappointed with how strict they have gotten and how expensive everything is. Not too family friendly economically.
Sundance ski patrol treated my friend right
Super pro - my friends shoulder popped out
Ski patrol and a local dr on the hill helped out, got it back in and then assisted him down the bottom of the old triple chair
Then gave him a ride to the base on a sled
Been skiing at sundance for 35 years - this place is the best hidden gem in the country
Glad Jeff was ok
Came here for the Sundance Festival. Very nice venue.
Amazing setting, lines are a long for the Owl Bar and totally worth it, atmosphere, Redfordesque, cocktail variety and caliber is solid, food was ok, just limited really, service was very good.
Small fun intermediate place
Snow was sketchy but not their fault. Tickets were _80 on weekdays. Good for one day skiing not much expert but half the price on other areas free parking. Close to lifts. Has spa and other amenities for non skiers good for families and novice skiers.
Our favorite place to stay in Utah! Excellent in every way!
The snow wasn't great, but that wasn't their fault. It's nice to have a resort so close to home.
This resort is seriously AMAZING!! We spent our anniversary here, and we loved everything about it! The service is great, the food was amazing, and the surrounding environment and mountains are breathtaking.
Our room was very nice, very cabin like. They even helped us get a fire in the fireplace started. I highly recommend this resort!
I love Sundance, as a resort they're awesome, the prices of their product are what you'd expect for a high end retailer. More than I can afford.
Sundance is absolutely beautiful and idyllic -- there is such a rich history to the grounds as well, and that made it even more special. Being there was the experience of a lifetime!
Fun day, fun hike, and the best salad I've ever had in my life (honey chicken at the deli). I only knock it a star because I can't figure out why everything is astronomically expensive, like super overpriced.
Such a cozy place...
Last February was my second time visiting sundance, first time in winter season and i just loved it. Cant wait until next year to go visit again.
Stewart Falls is a great place for a afternoon hike.
Kids got in the pond! Nice area. Went after bridal veil?!
Lovely area very clean and organized. A great place to take pictures and have fun. Great scenery and awesome for a afternoon walk.
Great spot for lift service mountain biking. Trails were mostly packed dirt... Not much loose rock to deal with.
Gorgeous scenery, excellent service. I was bothered by some random dripping/clicking noises in the middle of the night coming from somewhere in the room, though.
Sundance is an amazing place. The surrounding beauty and the building themselves all just make for the perfect mountain experience.
We enjoyed watching family members doing the zip line. The tram ride was very peaceful and relaxing and the view from the top was gorgeous.
It's ok. Good for families but not much of a mountain for serious riding or skiing. Plus low elevation and slow lifts.
Great resort especially if you live in the valley. I find the runs fun and enjoyable. The back mountain has plenty of trails and if you want to avoid the longer lines head to the back mountain. I have only experienced the winter season so I can't comment on the summer season.
Sundance Resort is an amazing place with beautiful scenery and incredible service. Lots of fun outdoor activities all year long. The restaurants are wonderful as well. My husband and I travel extensively, and this is one of our favorite places. If you have the opportunity, GO!!
Beautiful place, zipline is fun, staff is very friendly and accommodating. Little pricey but, what resort isn't pricey. I'd recommend this place easily.
Great snow at our visit and of course beautiful views! Although less lifts and runs than other ski resorts in Utah there was enough for a great day of skiing. Small terrain parks also kept the day interesting. Only wish there had been more snow, the runs through the trees had very thin coverage.
I learned to skiing here and I loved. It's not a huge place, but it's really good to go from beginner to intermediate.
We went to Sundance to go see a play and it was a great experience to see a work of art in nature like that. Be sure to bring a blanket and a jacket even if it's warm in the middle of the summer because sometimes with the breeze in the mountains that can be chilly.
The cabin area is really nice. We did the lift ride and it was way fun!
Grabbed a drink at owl bar after hiking stewart falls, great atmosphere and live music.
Beautiful resort. Went for the full moon ski lift. Could have been run better logistically (predetermined groups) to avoid unnecessary waiting. Look forward to future visits.
Sundance is a great place to visit and stay with a great view.
Good ski center at a good price, unfortunately the season was not the best and the snow was already ice
Sundance needs high speed lifts, I am happy they are only 30 years behind and got quad chairs. But the lifts are so slow you get less runs in per day than anywhere.
I do love that it's small, low key, and not wall to wall in people. But can't I have it all? Fast lifts and still no people?
Best place to visit!!! Lift to top of the mountain is spectacular
Rustic and beautiful place to go to relax or for a business retreat off ski season
The Halloween moonlight lift rides are exceptional.
I didn't stay at the resort as an overnight guests but we did visit to see the beauty that is Provo Canyon. The ski lift ride was amazing and breathtaking. The souvenir shop was cute.
My wife and I visit Sundance every summer to see a play at their outdoor theater, and we've NEVER been disappointed! We have gone 5 years in a row, and we don't plan on stopping anytime soon. From this we've learned about other things, and have actually come up twice now to ride the ski lifts during the Halloween season to see the light displays that they put up. This is very fun as well, and we really enjoy cuddling up on the cool fall night as we ride up the mountain in the dark!
Had so much fun going on the zipline tour. The ski lift to the top of the mountain was beautiful and the view was amazing. I would do that again. Next time I want to rent w mountain bike and do that all day.
Great environment! Redford kept the place small and it shows. Service is great and ski slopes are awesome. Good variety of difficulty and the slopes aren't crowded with too many people!
Not only is this one of the most beautiful places in the United States, it also has some of the best food I've ever had. It is quite expensive, so be prepared for that, but after your pricey, delicious meal yoy can go for a hike with spectator views. Even in the hottest summer months this spot stays cool and refreshing. It is a picturesque paradise.
Lots of great runs for those wanting to learn how to mountain bike.
It's located in a little canyon off of Provo Canyon. Only a twenty minute scenic drive from Provo and Orem it offers a quaint atmosphere, great photo ops, and a taste of the "world's greatest snow."
Not only have I snowboarded Sundance twice, but I recently went ziplining with a friend and had an amazing time! After taking the practice line, it began to rain and we were afraid it would be cancelled, however Lee and the rest of the zipline staff worked together and monitored the weather while still allowing us to continue safely. I have had nothing short of great experiences and definitely recommend it to anyone trying to have a fun time!
Great place to ski. Very unique, beautiful, and serene.
Mountain biking is pretty sub par. The chair lift is extremely slow and makes lots of stops and the top 1/3 of the mountain is not a bike trail but a loose gravel road. If sundance wants to claim mountain biking then you need bike trails from the top, weird to pay money to ride a lift up to ride down gravel roads.
Sundance is a great out of the way Place to get your nature recreation on. I've skied there for the last 18 years. The views are great, the service was awesome back before 2012, and the lifts & features are better than they've ever been. I ski, bike, & eat there. Foundry Grill is amazing, the Deli by the Foundry is good and Bear Claw (at the summit) has toilets you can put the food into when you've forgotten to bring your own & try it again. Ski there when storms come in from the south from January through mid March. In the summer, rent a bike & a helmet from them. Regardless of what the brochure says, trails are NOT very groomed. Your bike will get destroyed by long sections of loose softball sized rocks over hardpack if you go to the top enroute to the best trails like Scotty's Loop.
First time experience at the resort for skiing. Loved the local feel
We just spent 3 days as Sundance lodging guests. It was great. The surroundings are stunning! The staff was friendly, respectful and willing to address questions or concerns. The snow and skiing were awesome! The room was very charming and well designed. Yet, several little details were not well attended to:
-Serving station at check-in desk out of hot chocolate;
-Store out of essential items like gloves, affordable goggles;
--Signs for only blue and black slopes, where green turned out to have been available;
-Burned out bulbs in key areas like the kitchen;
-Lamps (plural) that didn't work;
-Inadequate firewood;
-Insufficient and ineffective starter materials such that fire-starting took repeated attempts, paper towels, and a lot of time,
-No kindling and few matches;
-Shovel missing from fireplace tool kit;
-Utensils and kitchen supplies hard to find and awkwardly located;
-Broken recliner's back not holding its position;
-A shuttle, promised to arrive 5 min from 1st call, took 15 when we were on a tight schedule;
-Told to dial 0 for front desk, but phone number to call when not in room not readily provided (even the worker giving orientationin had to Google it);
-Hot tub 1) lid position such that it blocked a significant portion of the fabulous view, 2) had a loose piece floating about, and 3) there was a frozen towel hanging on the outside doorknob, left by a previous visitor.
The end result was lost time, intended for relaxing or skiing, and small annoyances/disappointments sprinkled throughout our stay. At the price, you expect top notch, and Sundance Mountain Resort kept falling short.
I love this resort because it's so quick to drive to, however that means it's not as high up as the other resorts so it's snow isn't as good for as long. But for the price and convenient location, it's my #1 choice for season passes.
We drive up here for the day from Orem all the time. The lift rides and full moon lift rides are a lot of fun. They have zip lines and mountain biking as well. Some good food to be had. At Halloween they do a Haunted Lift ride that is a lot of fun and not scary. Great for families.
Stayed in the off season so the rates were great. The resort is beautiful and peaceful. Just what I needed for a couple of days of relaxation. Definitely rustic. Don't think you are getting the high end of luxury - but it's very comfortable. They could use to update the appliances (especially the microwaves...) and it would be nice if they had a way to deliver basic groceries or a more varied menu for room service. The on-site deli and restaurants are really good, but the closest market is in Orem which is not around the corner. Staff was super friendly and helpful - they clearly love their jobs.
