We just spent 3 days as Sundance lodging guests. It was great. The surroundings are stunning! The staff was friendly, respectful and willing to address questions or concerns. The snow and skiing were awesome! The room was very charming and well designed. Yet, several little details were not well attended to:

-Serving station at check-in desk out of hot chocolate;
-Store out of essential items like gloves, affordable goggles;
--Signs for only blue and black slopes, where green turned out to have been available;
-Burned out bulbs in key areas like the kitchen;
-Lamps (plural) that didn't work;
-Inadequate firewood;
-Insufficient and ineffective starter materials such that fire-starting took repeated attempts, paper towels, and a lot of time,
-No kindling and few matches;
-Shovel missing from fireplace tool kit;
-Utensils and kitchen supplies hard to find and awkwardly located;
-Broken recliner's back not holding its position;
-A shuttle, promised to arrive 5 min from 1st call, took 15 when we were on a tight schedule;
-Told to dial 0 for front desk, but phone number to call when not in room not readily provided (even the worker giving orientationin had to Google it);
-Hot tub 1) lid position such that it blocked a significant portion of the fabulous view, 2) had a loose piece floating about, and 3) there was a frozen towel hanging on the outside doorknob, left by a previous visitor.

The end result was lost time, intended for relaxing or skiing, and small annoyances/disappointments sprinkled throughout our stay. At the price, you expect top notch, and Sundance Mountain Resort kept falling short.
