These very annoying people showed up at my door at 720pm this evening. Without explaining much about themselves, they immediately asked to see my hydro and gas bills. "We just want to save you money - if you could even just go online and look up your biling info we just want to make sure that rates don't need to go up more than they need to." Save yourself the time and close the door - middle men only add costs.
This company scammed my sick mother into a contract by door to door sales person every month they get filters delivered to their door and a monthly bill added to their gas bill no way to cancel thank got these door to door con artist are no longer allowed to go door to door. If summit home services want to reply it better be a way to cancel the contract you played on my sick elderly parents
This company misrepresented themselves. They came to inspect our water heater and indicated we were eligible for a free upgrade "as part of our existing rental contract." We confirmed back and forth that this was our same rental company and the representative indicated our existing contract qualified for a free upgrade to a higher efficiency model. He also said since it was part of our existing rental contract, there was nothing to sign so I scheduled the upgrade. When the company called to confirm the appointment, the new representative then indicated they were in fact a different company that would be taking over the rental agreement. The deal and support may be a good one for all I know, I'm mostly unhappy with the misrepresentation and "sleezy" approach to usurping other company's business.
Scammers. Guy comes to the door throwing Enbridge's name around and asking to inspect the furnace and what not, makes you think he's a representative. My fault for being too trusting obviously, now I'm roped into some money sucking 10 dollar monthly charge, and for what!? Something they insinuated was necessary. You guys are crooks.
Total scam... what they don't tell you is the global charge you will get was more then your old hydro bill. Then they steal their fixed hydro charge of that. I went from paying 00.8 off peak .013 on peak to 0.19 all the time. Totally down played the global cost to me. Stay away conpletely. If you got suckered in pay the 50. A year fee to get rid of them. A scum company all the way. Government should put an end to them. Also this global cost after i signed is bs. That went up to more then my bill was in the first place. Two scammers steal food right out of my kids mouths. If they come too you door tell them to fckof right away.
if there is a negative star I will put it , they installed the smart home program for me where the nest did not work properly. we've been calling them to fix the problem for 10 hours, connecting 4 times with promises of a tech coming into contact with us but to no avail.
SCAM! Will offer flat rates 24hrs but do not mention added costs and fees that will drive your bill up. A major red flag should be how the customer service is so concerned about the protocol of the sales reps. They know they are using still tactics that I'm almost sure caused them to be fined in the past.
I was stupid enough to sign with them and immediately regretted it. To try to make a long story short:
Get out of the contract as soon as you can. Do not let the ten days go by as they say they need that time to process everything when really all it accomplishes is passing the time frame for you to back out of the contract (as per the Consumer Protection Act). After reading so many reviews and comments about how people had a hard time cancelling this is what I did and got a cancellation confirmation within 12 hours:
I wrote a letter referencing my right to cancel within the ten day 'cooling off' period to be effective immediately and sent it via registered mail. I also told them that this letter would be emailed and faxed. I faxed the same letter to the fax number on the Summit energy contract and saved and scanned the fax receipt confirmation. I then emailed the letter and CC'd the following:
Ontario Energy Board, The Toronto Star & Sun, Premier Kathleen Wynne, Hydro One, and the BBB.
Like I said, within 12 hours they confirmed the cancellation. I sent all documents to the Ontario Energy Board and the lady I spoke to start a file for me and added everything. I also sent everything to Hydro One to confirm that they should now, moving forward, not allowed Summit Energy to make any changes to my account on my behalf.
Summit Energy came to my door in May saying that signing with them would be cheaper at hydro rate 8.3 cents kwph. Boy were they wrong the delivery charges with Summit Energy are almost 200 dollars and i noticed my bills were getting higher. I called immediately after 1 month telling them to cancel i rather be with hydro. They cancelled it and sent a letter stating after a month it will be reverted back to Hydro well guess what its almost August month and they still have not reverted back... BEST IDEA IS TO SAY NO TO SUMMIT ENERGY.
Do not sign a contract with them you will not be pleased!!! They lie on the phone to you. I talked to a couple different people and they say different things. I have a friend who is with them and there bill went up more then 40% don't believe what they say.
