Summit Health Group Review

My family has been going here for over 7 years and have officially decided to leave. They have decided to add outrageous fees just see a doctor in addition to the copays. The front desk staff has gotten increasingly rude as well as management. So disappointing. I would not recomend going here and spending 250 per person per year plus what ever your copay is just to see a doctor when there are amazing doctors offices else where that you will get the same treatment or better from them and their supporting staff.

Shay Shani is a great doctor. I remember him mentioning in Rich Roll's podcast that at the clinic, not only do they cure their patients, but they also send them home enjoying a better quality of life, which turns them into better spouses, parents, etc. That's been the case with me, especially for this past month and a half. I'm very impressed with his staff and very grateful to him for helping me heal. I do really think that he cares about his patients.

I used to love Summit health. 2019 membership priced jumped 300%, still lower than concierge physicians but you don't get anything extra for this membership that i could tell. Physician does not spend more time or anything and chiro makes good rates on insurance, so why do they need to charge? Im not clear what we would be paying 450.00 a year for, just to walk through the door i guess. They lost a great Sports Chiropractor a few months back who was great at active release technique and unfortunately they did not / or were unable to replace him with an equivilant person. Love the chiropractic staff though, they are super kind. If you do chiro every week membership may be worth it. There was no communication of raising rates and we were shocked. They said they sent out emails and notice but we did not receive any. They are trying to become a concierge so i imagine rates will go up significantly again next year. I realized that for every regular family like us, they can replace with a wealthy family that a large yearly fee will not matter and basically price others out.

I have gone to various chiropractors since I was about 12 years old. I can sincerely say that Dr. Shani is the best one I have ever used.

I first went to him in 2009 when I was pregnant with my second child. I have had many horseback riding injuries over the years and he is the only chiropractor that I ever found who could properly adjust me.

One of the most important things he ever did for my family was in 2010 when he gently adjusted my baby who was suffering severely from colic. I still remember the smile on my baby s face after that first adjustment and a look of Why didn t we come here sooner!"

I am currently seeing Dr. Shani at his new location Summit Health Group. I love this place as it combines allopathic medicine under the direction of Dr. Wilkes. They offer primary care, chiropractic care, physical therapy, massage therapy, and other types of integrative medicine. I love that I can go to one place for all of my treatments.

The other thing that I must mention is the amazing staff that Dr. Shani and Dr. Wilkes have put together. I have seen just about everyone for something at Summit Health Group and I can say with confidence that every single one of them is professional, talented at their speciality, and friendly.

The office staff is easy to work with.

When Dr. Shani is not available for chiropractic care, I have also seen Dr. Troy. I have always been nervous to see another chiropractor and frankly the first time I used him I was a bit nervous. Needless to say that was an unfounded worry, as Dr. Troy is also great!

On the Primary Care side I have seen Dr. Wilkes several times for various reasons. I also saw him at his previous practice before he joined forces with Dr. Shani. He too is very professional and easy to work with.

I have also seen Carrie Sadler, the Physician Assistant. She is great too.

And for the past few weeks I have been going to PT for an old neck injury and have felt much better.

I know this review is getting to sound a bit unbelievable and many might speculated that it s a tad inflated. However, I felt compelled to write it as they have helped me so much over the years.

I would not hesitate to recommend them!

I have been going to Doctor Shani for 20 years. When I moved here from Florida I didn t believe in chiropractors. I decided to check it out with Doctor Shani and I have been going back ever since! Honestly I think he is a genius in the chiropractic world. I now have developed arthritis in my knee. I had pain every day and was taking Motrin to relieve the pain. I have had three sessions with him and his excellent staff, and my pain has subsided! Thank you Doctor Shy!!

I never thought I needed a chiropractor, but after visiting SHG, I can't imagine life without it. AMAZING service, AMAZING staff!

OUTRAGEOUS MEMBERSHIP FEES FOR 2019 - I would rate them 5-starts as I have in the past. Even when Summit Health Group started charging $80/yr., I still was okay with that for personal service.

However, for 2019 they've increased the Individual annual patient membership fee by 212.5% to $250 a year, and a family increased 150% to $400 per year. Please make copies of all mine and my husband's medical records, because there is no way were going to pay THAT MUCH of an increase. Obviously, you're only interested in helping those who have lots of money to give you, instead of working to help the middle class, average income, neighbors in Conejo Valley. We are so disappointed.

Very professional and friendly.
I would recommend this physical therapy office to anyone that is looking for therapy help with an injury.

I LOVE Dr. Shani's practice! He is a truly gifted chiropractor and uses the most cutting edge therapies on top of the adjustments - like so cutting edge that I don't even know all the names of what he uses but know it works. The receptionists are both so personable and caring and Dr. Waneka absolutely rocks as my new primary care Dr. This is a practice that has figured out how to integrate so much into helping their patients lead a healthier life. Can't recommend them highly enough!

A very caring Doctor... takes the time to listen and understand the issue! Dr. Wilkes is not the type to cattle car you through the appointment. I trust him.

When a friend heard I was interested in stem cell treatment for my arthritis, he referred me to Dr. Shani s office. The office itself is clean and modern. I felt very comfortable and welcomed by all the staff who appeared to enjoy working there. I went forward with treatment and had several follow-up appointments all with very short wait times. It s a caring office with a high level of service. I am very happy to have found them.

Experienced debilitating back pain and Summit was there every step of the way to my recovery. Highly recommend.

I was treated so abusivly by Dr Wilkes and staff I am considering filing a malpractice lawsuit. Enough said.

Dr Shani is amazing. His staff is always friendly and very helpful. I used to get migraines constantly and since visiting Dr Shani I may get one once in awhile. I recommend going to see to them.

I'm glad I found Summit Health Group. I've had nothing but excellent service from the medical offices and the chiropractic/PT. Dr. Wilkes, Carrie Sadler, Dr. Shani, and Dr. Lennon have all been helpful and friendly. I feel like I'm in good hands here and wish I found them sooner.

I came to office for lower back issues and didn't expect the type of improvement I received in such a short time--my back is in perfect condition thanks to Dr. Shay. The facility is state-of-the-art, the staff is very professional/friendly & there's plenty of parking.

Dr. Shay Shani and Team do an amazing job. Several of my family members go see him and they love it. I personally think this office makes miracles. I've seen it myself. One day I took my husband that was having issues over the weekend and could barely move. When we left the office he was able to walk by himself and get into the car without any problems. Everyone there is really friendly and it's such of clean environment. I totally recommend it!

I suffered with debilitating pain that severely limited my mobility. Every excursion outside left me physically ill and exhausted. I happened to see a sign for Dr Shani's office on his window one day and decided to stop in. They did a consult for me and listened to my numerous issues and their team came up with a treatment plan tailored to my complex problem set. After 4 months of seeing them I went from barely being able to make a short car trip to the mall to being able to take a 4 hour flight and walk the whole trip. My progress has been absolutely astounding. I had visited many orthopedist and specialist and I never made this kind of progress. I had been about to give up hope of having anything that resembled a normal life without surgery had it not been for Dr Shani and his amazing staff. If you suffer from chronic back and neck pain Summit Health is the answer you have been looking for. You can't go wrong! They are extremely caring and really aim to treat your issues as a whole and not just the individual symptoms.

I have been coming here for quite sometime and I have to say I love the family atmosphere here! The patient service is nothing short of amazing and the staff is always upbeat and helpful with a "can do" attitude. What I appreciate most about this practice is the fact that they focus on preventing health problems in addition to treating current problems and challenges. I recommend Summit to anyone who asks for a recommendation for a chiropractor and for a general practitioner!

This is an amazing health group! So much under one roof to give cohesive treatment. They have solved several health issues with my spine and knees that I've been trying to battle for years unsuccessfully elsewhere. I love that they put natural methods first before prescriptions and surgery, and everyone has been very caring and professional. Thank you Dr. Shani and the entire team!

He charges this ridiculous, worthless $80 annual membership fee which is an absolute rip off and if you don't pay it he would not treat you. They also overbilled me on a visit which my copay should have already fully covered the expense. After l expressed my opinion that a doctor's office is not a gym or a country club to be charging patients membership fees, they sent me a CERTIFIED letter saying that he will no longer be treating me as a patient which to me is so very wrong, arrogant and unethical for a doctor to refuse service to a patient merely for expressing his/her views. Ever since Dr Wilkes relocated to Summit Health group, everything has become about $$$$ and nickel and diming patients.

I have never been to a doctors office like this one. I think the longest I have ever waited to see the doctor was 5 minutes. They are extremely efficient. Dr. Carrie Sadler is the best. Every time I go in to see her I am always amazed how easy my experience is. Dr. Sadler really cares and she takes her time making sure all issues are addressed. I will be a patient here for the rest of my life. Thank you!

If I could give this group 0 stars I would, but there is no such thing here. Many years ago we, my husband and I, were looking for a general practitioner and found Dr. Wilkes, he was OK, provided the service my husband needed and that's about it. Dr. Wilkes then grew and became Summit with many more doctors in the geoup. What shocked me is that he began to change a $90 EXTRA fee if we wanted to be seen by him. To me that is rediculous! How can a doctor who is supposed to be there to help charge an extra fee? Specially since we were patients since before he grew! To me this is just someone taking advantage of patients in need. I find that very ethically wrong. We will never go back to his office and subject ourselves to be taken advantage of.

Summit health group is amazing and wonderful. Both the staff and doctors are absolutely amazing. Highly recommend both sides of SHG!

Now THIS is how you run a medical office! My god, why aren't all medical offices running like this??? All forms are on line, so you can fill them out with a keyboard instead of my atrocious handwriting before you get there. I'm assuming the founder, Dr. Wilkes, had a very large say in how this office would be set up and run, and it's a model of efficiency and attention to the tiniest details. My former doctor retired, and finding Dr. Wilkes was like going to sleep in the 1980s and waking up in 2018! Staff were prompt, efficient, and professional. Wait times between Dr. and staff were amazingly short, and I was able to also get all my immunizations updated, including the all-new anti-Shingles drug, Shingrix. Prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy instead of handing you a piece of paper, driving to the pharmacy, driving home, driving back to the pharmacy, you get the picture. They also have an on line portal where you can communicate with the office electronically. This is a dream come true, kind of like flat screen TVs!

And Dr. Wilkes is a consummate, yet approachable, physician. He has a military background providing family practice to military families, so his empathy level is excellent. Thank you Dr. Wilkes!

Dr. Shani is always really positive and professional. Staff is friendly too.

Review Update:
I was unfortunate to break my clavicle bone two weeks ago. Dr. Shani, Dr. Lennon and the staff were very helpful. Actually not just helpful. First week after the injury, being very frustrated by pain and being not able to function normally, coming to the clinic was the highlight of every day. These guys and gals are not just professional and helpful, but also very friendly and positive. If being happy is huge factor in recovery then I can attest that Summit never fails to fulfill that part.

I have been going to Summit Health for a long time. I have issues from my fusion surgery to correct scoliosis. They have kept me strong, flexible healthy and I feel that are a partner in my on-going care and treatment

Both Dr. Shani and Dr. Lennon are incredible chiropractors. I've been to 5 other chiropractors and they are by far the best! Dr. Shani was able to help me with my reoccurring TMJ pain, and I haven't had any issues for months now.
