Great tap room with a good selection of IPAs. I would highly recommend their red as well.
Slow to load trucks
..
Really nice space, especially when the weather is nice and you can use the outside area.
They put on a really cool tour and the beer and staff are awesome!
Went on a tour led by Doug Hoverson, an expert on Minnesota beer. It was a real treat.
Great atmosphere and great beer. Authentic German feel with fest tables and benches. Food truck available. Kid friendly. New entrance under construction.
Good Beer. Strange Hours (I guess they do just fine with major production). Friendly Staff. Fun backyard with games. Dog Friendly outside. Nice place to enjoy a pint on a weekend :)
Delivered empty kegs. Drank all the sample beer. Drove semi into the Mississippi. Good times. 5 stars.
Love the remodeled space, but I miss the signs that DESCRIBED the beer!!
New tap room is great, and the beer is even better.
Very chill atmosphere and big taproom. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable without pretense.
The ambience is great, the Employees are great especially Marie she was so sweet and attentive, cheerful and funny. I was there with my wife and my wifes cousin and her husband. Beers are really great and at a great price (4 bucks). Stouts and Porters are so delicious. I haven't been here in months but after last nights experience we will attempt to make it at least twice a month. Thank you Summit and Thank you Marie
Great place, great beer, great service! They have a nice set up with the tasting room Ratskeller. Plenty of tables and board games to play. Recommend the tour. It's about an hour, informative and shows most of the production facility. Also a great deal- 4 samples for $5.
It was okay, the tour guide was nice but super unethhsiastic and gave out way too much information. It was also very hard to hear him in most of the rooms. Beers were good, decent selection and super cheap for a flight and a tour. We're both 23 and it felt rather unwelcoming to the younger crowd...
Summit is my favorite brewery! I've never had anything but 5 star service and 5 star beer. The experimental beers are always changing and always great, but pretty much anything you order is going to be amazing. Saga is #1!!!
Summit brewery is a staple of the Saint Paul community in consistently brews excellence.
the tap room itself is nice and roomy with sort of a large hockey bar type of field and they always have a food truck outside.
beertenders are always happy to help you find a beer that's going to fit your taste and the atmosphere is always nice and welcoming. Love this place.
Always a fun and laid back atmosphere, and great beers! The patio is nice in the summer and the beer hall is friendly with long tables and benches. They frequently have food trucks or other events (live music etc.).
Founder was a SCORE mentee! Love this place for gatherings. Super reasonable pricing.
Doing the free tour is fun. I've been a couple times bringing new people. Unfortunately some tour guides don't do as good as others. I think it is a volunteer thing so I don't fault them too much.
One of the original craft beer producer's in Minnesota. They offer of variety of beer's that should satisfy the taste of any beer lover. I especially enjoyed the cask beer and the nitro oatmeal stout.
Amazing Beer, "Love it!".......Highly Recommended.......& A Big Thanks for the THE EAUX CLAIRES FESTIVAL Tickets!!!!
I have been here a few times and have always enjoyed the vibes and welcoming environment. They have a good truck outside that always got some tasty foods to go along with the beer
If you can't spell hefe weizen you probably shouldn't brew one.
Also, Summit washes their beer glasses with too much soap which prevents the beer from lacing after it's poured and inhibits the amount of foam. Mark Studrud should address this immediately.
Beer is great, environment is awesome. Enjoyed a book and a beer, can't beat that.
I have watched Summit go through the process of getting bigger and better. My favorite in 2016 was the Keller Pils. I also love the Stout, when I am at a restaurant or pub it is always a great choice. I also just want to thank Mr. Stutrud for making St Paul his home.
The taproom here is nothing fancy but offers plenty of room to explore the summit beer variety. Bring your friends and food to share with them!
Have never visited the brewers lair but enjoyed many pints. One of my favorite beers when dining out. Goes down beautifully. Clean refreshing and satisfies. Hope to catch a tour when I'm in Pigs Eye. Salute!
Top Notch Taproom! Summit is a premier Brewer in Minnesota. Do not miss this Tap Room. Fantastic beers, excellent service. Be sure to check out a brewery tour if you have an opportunity.
Great place to relax with a good brew. Tour is also great and informative
I brought my husband here for his birthday, and it didn't disappoint! It was so fun to walk through the whole brewery and learn more about the beer brewing process. The best part though was the "samples" at the end of the tour. Let me tell you, these samples were much larger than I thought they'd be. Definitely generous portions! Would love to bring some out of town family and friends here when they're back visiting. A great afternoon activity!
We went for brewery tour. Super friendly staff and great beer. Highly recommended!!!
Awesome space that was recently renovated. It is generally pretty quiet. And they have the best beer in town. A must visit for anybody that enjoys beer.
Great place to enjoy really good beers along with a fun atmosphere! Highly recommend. They have great deals for bikers. Also their beers are only $4. Can't beat it. Excited to go back and hang on their patio.
Want the first Minnesota craft beer that is delicious and well crafted? Come here!!!
DONT HOST AN EVENT WITH THEM!! We have been trying to plan an event with Summit Brewery for over two months now. Contacting them is IMPOSSIBLE! On top of their bad hours, they don't respond when they are supposed to be open. I have left multiple messages and they swear someone will get back to me. Emailing them is useless. It is a joke. They clearly don't want business!
Save your time and money and go elsewhere!
This looked like a great place to spend an afternoon with friends and I was not dissappointed. They've got a few different styles of beer on tap with the most common probably being IPA's. great service here as well, super friendly staff.
A must stop on a beer tour. Great selection. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Great spot. Long tables inside allowing for conversation or game play. They often host events like trivia or comedy. Patio outside is large, with Adirondack chairs plus picnic tables. There's almost always a food truck here.
This is by far my favorite brewery! Great environment and amazing cold beer! Service is always great!
Been there a couple times for a beer and lunch from whatever truck caterer is on site. Do the $5 tour which includeds 4 - 4 oz. beer samples of your choice. (Otherwise costs $10 for sample setting.) Lot's of planned activities. Nice outdoor seating. Summit is one of Minnesota's larger operations when it comes to craft beers. There is good reason for that. Mostly, good beer. Lots of seating available.
We took a brewery tour today at 5 pm and had an amazing experience. It was just our party on the tour and Daniel, our tour guide was very knowledgable and friendly. He made sure to answer all of our questions and made suggestions for what beers to try. We can't wait to visit again!
Always great to visit Summit! Had Skip Rock, very good!!
Great time meeting with friends, playing cards & food from CTA was good
New taproom is very modern and polished. Definitely worth a visit and the beer will keep you coming back. They have taproom exclusives!
I am a big fan of the EPA but the taproom is so 1980.
Tour was fun (and free!). Followed by free tastings, and Summit's beer is awesome.
Had a perfect afternoon on the patio. Had fabulous service w a smile from all the staff I encountered.
Loved food truck smells. There were bags, dogs, kids, the whole deal.
Looked like there was a special event going because it seemed like there were brewers around and extra staff.
Love Summit can't wait for my next visit.
I have been to two fundraising events at Summit Brewing over the years for Leech Lake Legacy and have loved each visit. They are courteous and fun, and really create a fun atmosphere for the "Lagers for Legacy event".
We plan to return this summer for a beer on the patio with our pups, too!
What a great cheap date! $10 flight of craft beer and board games. Try the barleywine and the scotch ale.
Ratskeller Exclusive: Unfiltered IPA. Very tasty!
Always great service, friendly and knowledgeable staff, large space and patio. Weekly food trucks. Never a let down as a frequent customer.
One of my favorite among Twin Cities' (micro)breweries. Sticking to what they do best: simple beer hall, making quality, flavorful beer, Along with good seasonal brew. Big fan of the unchanged series, specifically #20. Bigger fan of the Union Series, specifically, Series # 5 (Old Blaggard Barleywine)
Fun trivia through Trivia Mafia. More selection of beers than you would find in stores for Summit. Food trucks occasionally outside.
Always a great place for a beer and the food trucks are great.
The brewery tour is a must! The guide was still learning the ropes and a bit unsure of some facts, but overall we learned a lot. The tour is only $5 and includes tokens for four 7oz samples of your choosing, which is deal considering you d pay more if you ordered them without a tour.
I went here with my family for trivia night and we had so much fun. The beer was great, it was close to home and the ambiance was welcoming and spacious.
Being conscious of driving safely and not over consuming, I held on to one of my free beer tokens after touring Summit. Today I was in the area and decided to stop in to claim my free beer. I was told I could not redeem it because Summit is now charging for the tour and I did not pay for my tour. So what? You gave me a free beer token. Why should those changes nullify my free beer token? 1 Star. Not impressed with Summit s customer focus. I think I will have a hard time purchasing this brand in the future knowing it s about profits, not customers. I m now enjoying a Ballast Point Sculpin down the street instead of redeeming my token and then buying a flight from Summit. Mmmmm.
Great spot and even better beer. Their EPA has been in Mpls St. Paul forever and has seen much competition lately but it is still the best.
Nice beer hall experience and great pricing on the beers. Decent selection (about 10-12 beers on tap), but like many places subject to the whims of a random food truck.
Love this place! Family friendly, nice outdoor seating, and of course amazing beer. Had a remodel recently and I love the new furniture and indoor seating. The service is top notch and my toddler loves getting his hand stamped and the workers are always so nice to oblige him. Thanks!
Giant Taproom! Enjoyed an afternoon flight and bar games!
Great beer and a great environment. One of my favorite summer hangout spots
One of the long lasting bigger breweries, nice taproom and tours.
One of the best in the Twin Cities. Summit EPA is a go to staple. The brewery's unchained and union series are always interesting. They offer a nice tour of the brewery at different times.
About as classic as St. Paul craft beer gets. The beer my dad drank in the 90s is now the beer we drink together. Beer hall was never really built to be a taproom, but excited to see updated space in 2018. There are some great long-time beers like Great Northern Porter, and they've upped their game in recent years with the Unchained series and new entries to stay competitive. 2018 also brings change to the beers in rotation, but so far so good on the latest newbies. Great patio for dogs too!
