I can't say enough good things about SUDA and their staff!! My daughter and I spent almost 4 years at a traditional oriental martial arts school. For 3 of those years it was a battle to get her to go, and almost every class she cried to and from there. When I decided to switch to SUDA, my daughter was done with martial arts. She never wanted to do it again. I asked her to give SUDA a try, and if she didn't like it, I'd let her quit.
From the moment we walked in the doors we were treated as family! The staff there made my daughter and I feel so comfortable that by the end of her first class she was wanting to compete!! One of the things I was worried about is that they would tell us to forget everything we had just spent 4 years learning. They didn't do that. In fact, they taught us how to use what we already know in their system of martial arts!!
Now three of my children train there, with one starting really soon. We've been able to compete both locally and states like New York and Ohio. Not only have my kids been able to stay physically fit, they also have become more confident.

Master James and ROn Hill are amazing. I have coached the US Team along side these two gentleman and I have to say they are some of the most amazing coaches and instructors I have ever met. These 2 guys really care about thier students and go out of thier way to help thier students the most they can. When asked to coach the US team and I found out I would be coaching along side the Hill brothers I was so excited because I have heard of them for many years. Anyone in the Joliet area should make the trip to SUDA training center for all thier martial arts and fitness needs.

I have been training at SUDA for almost a year. As an older practitioner I was very hesitant to start pursuing my passion. The moment I walked into SUDA I felt instantly at ease. The atmosphere is inviting and the training is world class. The Hill brothers are two of the best in the business ,and they are dedicated to all of their students development.

I have been training at SUDA for approx 10 years along with both my children. The owners and head Coaches Ron "Tashi" Hill and James "Renshi" Hill provide top notch training and provide many local and international competition opportunities. SUDA is a family friendly environment . They are 3rd degree Black Belts in Jiu Jitsu under Ricardo Murgel and unlike many schools actually teach the classes themselves. They are also Head coaches for Team USA international teams . Ron and James Hill are also very involved in their community.

LOVE SUDA!! My husband spent a few months looking for a gym after we moved here, we ended up SUDA International Training Center. Both my children and my husband train here. The owners are brothers and instruct the classes, they are beyond excellent with the kids. One of my children has a health condition with some restrictions, they have been very accommodating making it possible for my kiddo to be here. Not only are my children learning the sport they are also learning discipline, focus, their behavior and attitude has improved and they have a whole new level of confidence. The smiles on their faces at the end of each class tells me we found the right home. SUDA also hosts events for the kids allowing some kid free dinners with my husband. Most importantly, SUDA has become our family. Couldn t be prouder to be apart of this organization!

The Hill brothers have a passion for Martial arts that I hadn't previously experienced at other schools. They're warm, friendly and run a school anyone would feel comfortable letting their children attend classes at! There would be no way for me to express in words how amazing this school is!

Pricing wise they're extremely reasonable for the times, equipment and resources that they make available to you.

If you're looking for a fantastic martial arts school to grow with. This is definitely the place to go.

I've had great experiences here. The workouts vary in intensity and I get results. This is a gym where hard work pays off. On top of the great workout class, the martial arts are taught by two respectful, knowledgeable, and great professors. Tashi and Renshi do an outstanding job sharing the skills and knowledge to a variety of age groups. This was a very positive change to my life, and it can be for you too. :)

This is a great place to train. The professors are masters in many disciplines. Besides being masters, they are good people and create an atmosphere where you can learn technique, get in shape and have fun. It isn't just for the youngsters either. I'm older, and we have a group of older men & women who come in and train hard. Get off the couch and come join us, get in shape, learn and have fun.

When I was looking for a place to train, I knew this was the place to go. I've been to other "training centers", and SUDA is by far the best. And most of all, from day one, you're treated like family.

We enrolled our son at 4 years old to help with his self confidence. He allowed kids to hit him and snatch toys away. Now at 6 years old, he has the confidence to respectfully tell kids to keep their hands to themselves or to wait their turn. I attribute that to SUDA.
-I like the one-on-one grappling as opposed to just learning form and little self defense like TKD.
-I especially like that he is being taught by true black belts and not by fellow students.
-I appreciate how they are separated by age and grouped by experience.
-I love the talks that they have about self respect, always to respect others, but also how to establish boundaries. Kids listen a little differently to instructors than when it comes from parents sometimes.
-Finally, I love the camaraderie among the instructors, staff and parents.

My family joined Suda this year in February. They had a special going on if you signed up by February 29th it was $2,000 for the year. Spent over $1,000 in equipment for the kids. March 16th came around and the pandemic hit. Suda closed down until mid June. We barely had 2 weeks of classes for the kids to learn anything. On March 16th they started virtual classes however we didn't do the virtual classes because we signed up for hands on and had no interest in virtual. When they opened in June we chose not to send the kids because we weren't comfortable due to the Corona Virus. No matter how much they said they kept the dojo clean, it's our children and we weren't exposing them to anything or anyone especially not a contact sport. I contacted Professor J. Hill on July 13th and asked if they had plans on refunds because we weren't comfortable sending our kids back and with the way the pandemic was going we had no idea when things would get better. Schools weren't even opening and even if they were we wouldn't send our kids. He said no refunds only that they would extend the membership 2 months (which made no sense considering the point was we weren't going to expose our children to any of that) said that the pandemic wasn't his fault and basically just plain out was inconsiderate and didn't even try to understand where we were coming from. We spent $2,000...I could see them keeping some money that would have been fine but to not refund anything. Scammers. They really made money off of us! Absolutely unbelievable, unprofessional, inconsiderate. I will be reporting them to the BBB.

The hill brothers have helped me continue the development of my martial abilities, which has opened my mind to the world of meditation and peace that I left years ago when I started college.
Not to mention, it is an insane (and insanely good) workout that always leaves me feeling not only physically worked, but mentally honed.
Would I recommend Suda to someone? Most definitely. Whether you want to lose weight, gain skill/confidence, simply have a place to train, or some combination of those three; SUDA is for you.
I almost forgot to mention the atmosphere! Everyone there is superb! Literally everyone I have met there has been awesome and they are always willing to help.
Don't miss out on this stellar experience!
