Stop & Shop Supermarkets Review

Sections of many shelves were empty. For the past month or so, they have out of many things I normally buy.

I don't cross picket lines. Strike strike strike!!!!! Fair pay plus more $ for Sundays is just!!!!

Good butcher selection of steaks. Prepare to pay for it though...

They have everything I look for .. Only they should also have staff who speak other languages ..

Fairly good Stop and Shop. Good layout, has more healthy options than a few other Stop and Shops I've been to. The lines usually move pretty quickly and the people at the registers are usually competent and the service desk moves quickly as well. However, the deli is usually slow and the fish counter is not always staffed. There is no hot bar and I believe the salad bar closes around 8pm. Other than that it's pretty much your average Stop and Shop.

I use this Stop & Shop for a considerable amount of party platter business. I love that they have curbside pickup service available. Although some basics may be more expensive via curbside pickup, pricing is decent for essentials that I need for meetings. The service is good, and it is fast enough to go through the self checkouts if the staffed lanes are busy.

Actually like it there besides the staff watching everyone's every move pretending to rearrange lables

My local grocery store but kind of lacks in quality. High prices(not exactly this stores fault, but there are cheaper grocery stores). Also I often accidentally come home with expired food from this store and am too lazy to return it so it s a waste to throw it out and change dinner plans when that happens. The store is also frequently out of basic foods such as peppers, cucumbers, cilantro, and other
Veggies until they are re-stocked. Meh but it s close and I like the hours.

The color really cashiers that are disgusting, as if forced were working there... I hope never to return there

A perfect place where you can get everything you want. They've nice deals on different stuff occasionally. Fruits, vegetables and meat are fresh and clean. Next to Stop & Shop, there's a liquor store where you can buy alcohol as well. Free parking available, wheelchair accessible parking & entrance, strollers are available and they've a robot who monitors the store. A bank and an ATM is inside it as well. Self-checkout is available. It's on the main road, can be noticed easily.

Needs more employees, long lines every day with multiple registers closed

Prices are a bit steep, and selection is limited, but it's convenient to where I live

Love that it has a scanning gun. You can go with your bag, scan products store them on your bag, and then simply scan the barcode of the bag and leave

That robot thing is weirddd! And they're throwing him a 1st birthday bashhh! [Or maybe already did?] And they never have regular chicken ramennn stocked. Sells out wayyy too fast.

You guys should be ashed of yourself for hurting all the employees on this difficult time for everyone I will not shop there any longer until they deserve a fair contract do what s right.

The only super market 5 minutes or less away from my home and its the worst place to shop at. Not because of the food but more the workers that are supposed to be "friendly and helpful service" as they clearly state in their motto. Recently I went to the florist area to purchase some balloons and other things that I had and their was nobody at the florist area to attend me and my mother. We waited a while and found that no one was paying attention to us. So my mom saw a lady walking and my mom called her and she told us to wait. 10 minutes went by when my mom said she would catch her a customer service. To come to see that she was chit chatting stupid things with the other worker and my mom angrily told her that we needed assistance with some balloons. She immediately said, "What, you want some balloons" in a surprised tone. My mother answered YES, and I want to pay for other stuff as well. She then said, "Oh my God." As if we were crazy or something. After that while thing happened she started inflating the balloons and asked if I wanted clips for the balloons or bunched together without clips. My mom asked how much the clips were and the lady angrily said, "What do you mean? the clips cost nothing." Well, in the first place she asked if we wanted them or not so my first reaction would have been do they cost anything? I mean this lady was overall very rude and trying to take out her anger on us, the customers. I find that very unfriendly and very unhelpful. Very bad place overall the associates are always rude and think negatively of their customers. But it's the only market closest to my home so I find myself having to buy my weekly food here...(sadly.)

Typical stop and shop. If you ve been to one, you know exactly how this one is; expensive compared to say Market Basket but close enough to make up for the price difference.

THIS STOP AND SHOP HAS RAISED IT'S PRICES SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER THAN THEIR OTHER LOCATIONS. EXAMPLE: SOUTH BAY STOP AND SHOP IN BOSTON. NO JOKES ASIDE SPENDING A HUNDRED DOLLARS WORTH OF GROCERIES IN MY OLD NEIGHBORHOOD STOP AN SHOP WAS PLENTY OF FOOD FOR A SINGLE FEMALE. NOW I SPEND THE SAME AT SOMERVILLE STOP AND SHOP BUT I'M LUCKY IF I CAN EVEN GET HALF AS MUCH STUFF AND THAT5 WITH ALL MY COUPONS. YET THEY ARE NOT PROVIDING ANYTHING BETTER, DIFFERENT, OR EVEN MORE SELECTION. S&S IS A 4MIN WALK FROM MY HOUSE. YET I TAKE THE 30 MIN WALK TO MARKET BASKET WHERE THE PRODUCE IS BETTER. THEY CARRY THE BRAND OF COFFEE I DRINK. I HAVE TO HAVE MY COFFEE!!! MOST IMPORTANTLY THE PRICES ACTUALLY AFFORDABLE!!!!!

Not the cheapest but it definitely has a great selection of groceries. Lots of things on sale at any give time! Also, the Jamaican beef patties from the deli area have become a cheap staple of mine.

Good local supermarket. Has decent prices and the management will work to get what you need/want if you ask.

I think photos will help people decided if they should come here or not

The fruits are excellent looking it is very convenient to my house it's walking distance.

I come to this place almost everyday..i love that their products are nice and fresh.. but the staff are so rude and look upset all the time.some times i have two carriages.. and no one wants to help me..yet i have spent like 300$ in grocery..like i have to keep asking around.. to see who will come to help me move my carriage.

My favorite grocery store in the greater Boston area. Excellent produce, friendly employees, and good prices. Store is thoughtfully laid out and easy to navigate.
On a side note, the middle stall in the women's restroom is well worth a visit if you need a pick-me-up. Really positive graffiti.

Scan it yourself system in place. What else do you need?

Great Store, Good service. Would like to see hand sanitizer over by chicken. Cross contamination is not fun. Its essentially in this day and age to be health conscious. It should be implemented in all stores that sell chicken.

Terrible carts. No Fruit 2 0 water. Little paper products.

They seem to have defeated the coronavirus, poor mask and distance policy. No one monitoring the doors, poorly stocked. It's like a real life game of frogger. But at least I didn't pay 25 cents to play.

Deli personal with long beards slicing cold cuts without hair nets. Sanitary condition is unacceptable and has been reported in not so distant pass. Hairy ham ?

Not a bad store. Kinda hard to get to, unless you are driving back into Somerville/Cambridge from the Home Depot side of the highway.

The restrooms it's always dirty . It is my local grocery store but unfortunately I never use the restrooms because it's always dirty.

Clean, accessible to neighborhood, nice shopping experience.

This store has Scan It! Scan and bag groceries in the cart while going thru the aisles makes checking out a breeze!

The workers are very helpful, great sales all is easy to find I love the shelve with the baking goods on sale. Love it
