STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS! We had them do a roof 5 years ago. On the porch, they peeled back the siding from the house, damaging it very badly. Unfortunately, the area was not easily visible and went undetected for several years. Their work left the joint between the porch and wall exposed, resulting in water damage in our attic. When we called to have someone from the company come over and inspect the work in order to repair it, they send a siding crew. The crew advised it was not their area of expertise. We called the company later the same day to speak to a supervisor. The secretary, Jessica, passed us off to the siding manager, Doug. Without actually seeing the damage, Doug told us that it was obvious that my 66 year old mother damaged the siding on her own so that she could get free work done on her house. He then hung the phone up. We tried calling back but only got an answering machine. THIS IS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. We paid for a 5 year warranty to cover defective work. The warranty is about to expire and now the company won't honor it. HORRIBLE BUSINESS!!!!!
I have used Stockmohr several times for roofing, siding and always a pleasure to do business with them. Very professional and excellent cleanup
The first professional contractor with great pricing. Very smooth process from order to installation. The installation team was professional and clean, the windows looked great.
Thanks Stockmohr !!
I have been a customer for almost 6 years. They have done many replacement windows and a rear door. The prices are fair for a licensed contractor but what is impressive is quality and speed they finish the job. They also just finished some siding on my house. I could not afford to do the whole house but they worked with me as far as pricing and so it does not look stupid until I can afford to finish the job. Thanks guys for all your help.

From the estimate to the roof installation was a very easy and pleasant experience. The full tear off and new roof was completed in one day. A small problem of some bushes damaged during installation occurred. When it was brought to the operation managers' attention he immediately took responsibility and offered to pay for the damaged bushes. The cleanup after the installation was excellent. The roof looks amazing and adds to the beauty of the house. Thank you for the great job.
I called Stockmohr Company for a quote on having a roof put on my late brothers home. The salesman, Bill showed up as scheduled to see the property that needed
the roof. He was the only one that climbed up on the roof to check every part and advised me that we had real problems that needed to be corrected. He took the time
to go through what was going to be done, how long the job would take to complete.
I had called three different contractors and Stockmohr was the least expensive. I had
spoke with another home owner who said that the crew that installed the roof on his
house were great and cleaned up everything when they were done. My roof was scheduled and the day before the roof was installed, I received a call telling me the
crew would be at the house promptly the next morning. The roof was stripped, boards were replaced and a new roof installed. The yard looked the same when they
left as I did when they showed up. I also had them quote my house and they were
given that job as well. I spoke with my cousin and he mentioned that he was looking
to replace his roof. I recommended Stockmohr. Bill was the salesman who quoted
the job for them and Stockmohr was the company to do his house. I guess when
a salesman is respectful of the customer, gives fair prices and the company handles
everything in a professional manner, they end up with all the work.
After a few years with a 50 year warranted roof, the roof started to leak last week after the rain. They came, path it up, so they say, this weekend it. Started to leak again. I called very early explained the roof was still leaking and what they recommended was to get a new roof. What a joke! I am not dealing with them nor will I ever recommend them to others. Sorry, you don't stand by what you do or sell to people
A couple of days ago, I discovered that my downspout had come off of the gutter at the roof line. Not having a ladder to go up there (in addition to a fear of heights), I called Stockmohr to see if they could repair the gutter and downspout. Stockmohr had done a roof job for me several years ago which was excellent. I was told that they would try to make it out in a few days. The very next day, I received a call from their office stating that they would be out to repair the downspout that afternoon. They arrived as promised and did the repair. The men were very nice and very professional. When the job was completed, the men told me that the office would call the next day with billing information. I received a call the next day and to my surprise, they did not charge me for the repair. That type of customer service is difficult to find these days. I highly recommend this company and would not hesitate to call them for any roofing or siding needs.
I was the liason when they did work on my father's house, and I was impressed by their speed and solid work. The only reason I give 4 stars is their customer service could be a little better.
I love the way my house looks now! Stockmohr just finished residing my 100 year old home and it looks brand new. The whole process was so easy and comfortable from choosing what kind of siding I wanted to the scheduling and installation. The crew who came to put in on were very courteous and helpful. They answered all my questions and never seemed to lose patience with a nervous senior citizen. The price was competitive and the quality of the work superior. I couldn't be more satisfied.
After receiving a dozen window quotes, a friend recommended we contact Stockmohr. We are so glad we did! Every person we worked with made the process so much easier and stress free. There was no pushing to close a sale or sell us something we did not need. Their price was so fair we decided to do all our windows and our siding this was a huge job! The crew was wonderful; they were professional and went above and beyond for us! Our home truly looks like a brand new house and we have received nothing but compliments from our family, friends and neighbors.
We will continue to use Stockmohr for the rest of our home projects! Thank you Dave, Charles and everyone else! You guys are the best in the business!!!
The guy was rude and not helpful compared to the other companies I was getting estimates from. It s been 3 days later and haven t received my estimates yet, I guess he thought it was a waste of time and seem like he made up in mind the I couldn t afford the service
After getting several estimates, we were so glad that we went with Stockmohr. They made the whole process almost stress free. Dave gave us a thorough plan and a fair estimate. He was professional and personable. Their crews were pleasant and really took pride in their work. We were so pleased with the siding job that we had them install new doors as well. They played great attention to detail and readily fixed screens that were accidentally damaged during siding removal. Stockmohr really worked to meet our expectations. Our neighbors keep commenting on how nice our house looks. They are a top notch company, and I would not hesitate to hire them for home improvement projects.
After several estimates, we decided to go with Stockmohr to replace our sliding door. We ordered and paid a downpayment at the end of April 2019 and were told it would be 6-8 weeks for door to be installed. After 11 weeks, in July 2019, WE had to call to see what was going on. We were told they would check on order and we would be getting a phone call to schedule installation. We scheduled installation for Aug 5, 2019 and cleared our calendar for that day. We then received a phone call at 8 am on Aug 5 and we were informed that the install was cancelled because a glass panel on door was cracked. Was this not checked before that morning or was it done as it was being loaded on truck? We were told it would be another 10 days to 2 weeks to get another door. After 3-1/2 weeks, WE had to call, again, to see what was going on with this door. We were then called back to set up another appt. which was scheduled for Wed. Sept 11, 2019 at which time the manager admitted this has been a total disaster and gave us $500 off for our trouble. That was fine to this point. On Wed, Sept 11, 2019, I phoned the office at 9 am to see when truck would be here. Receptionist said she would check and if it wasn't here by 9:30, to call back. I then received a call from her to say we were not on the schedule for that day but the next day, Thursday, Sept 12 as per my request. I said that was impossible, I did NOT schedule install for that day as I babysit on Tuesdays and Thursdays and have for 3 yrs. Why would I schedule an install for a day I would not be home? She said I did schedule it and started to talk non-stop over me being rude the whole time. I tried to get a word in, but she would not let me. She said if I cancelled, they would not be able to install the door for 3-4 weeks out. I felt cornered and had to keep the appt since we have been waiting for this door for 4-1/2 months now. I had to, again, re-arrange my schedule, and have 3 yr olds brought here so I could be home for installers. VERY inconvenient! When worker got here, he was VERY polite, but did say he knows there was a "mix up" in the schedule, to which I stopped him and told him it was the woman who schedules the appts, NOT ME! Apparently she cannot admit when she makes a mistake, but blames the customer. I also found out that it took over 3-1/2 weeks the second time because our door WAS delivered to Stockmohr, but was left on the truck, forgotten, and sent back to company.
The door is now installed, and we are closely watching the warranties from Stockmohr, but I could not, will not ever recommend them to anyone!!
Stockmore, First did our roof, two days later the window guys showed up. From Russ to Mark or Adam they did an Awesome Job. The very next day they were done the Siding guys showed up, we found out that when our house was built (1965) they used fiberboard for the sheeting. So Doug came out and figured out how much to Plywood the whole house and garage, they came up with a great price. The Siding guys like Chris was Great at his Craft. They also put in 5 doors, 2 interior Doors & 3 Storm Doors. We would like to thank everyone at Stockmore from Jessica, Patricia and Jennifer the ladies always had answers for all our needs. Thanks So Much Mr. & Mrs. Martin
Was at the Buffalo Home and Garden show this weekend and spoke to every single roofing company about the need to get an estimate on a home we are in the process of purchasing. When I mentioned to the gentleman (I use that term as loosely as possible) from Stockmohr that we are in the process of closing but would like to have an estimate done prior to close (as the work needs to be done PRIOR to closing), his attitude completely changed. He became incredibly rude and arrogant. Anytime someone starts a sentence with "I don't mean to be rude but" you know you're in for a real treat. He then condescendingly proceeded to tell us that he understood we were a "young couple" (we're not, we're in our 30's) but that we were wasting his time by asking for an estimate prior to owning the home.
This is not our first home purchase and the implication that we were wasting his time or doing something inappropriate by asking for an estimate was offensive. Every other company at the home show understood our situation, was friendly, professional and more than willing to give us an estimate. As a business owner myself, I found the interaction completely unacceptable. Especially for a company that prides itself on customer service.
In all my years dealing with private sector business, I have never been so offended and angered by a company representative... And I have dealt with some terrible companies and employees.
When we took back our information and told the 'gentleman' that we wouldn't consider giving him our business, he just walked away and said he could care less.
Just looked at your website and notice that there is only 1 testimonial, and it is from the owner... this is very telling. I now understand the customer service I experienced. It starts at the top. For what it's worth, two days later, we have 4 roofing quotes and plan on moving forward with the work in the next few weeks.Of course, I'm sure Stockmohr is doing well enough to turn away our business without a second thought. And we sure were happy to give it to someone else.
Had 2 storm doors and 2 entry way doors replaced today - I am EXTREMELY happy with the results. The guys who came out to do the install were great and thorough. They didnt screw around and when they went for lunch, they told me when they'd be back. Spot on. Even when it rained, they didnt stop. They continued the work like it was a clear day. I will say the one storm door to the laundry room is not the one I wanted, but I'm ok with it because the storm door to my living room is, and I dont use the screen in the laundry room nearly as much. I would highly recommend Stockmohr, but when ordering doors, make sure your sales guy shows you THEIR brochures/pamphlets. I showed them what I had picked out from a different company, but was never shown anything from their line. I'm sure this is why my laundry room storm door is incorrect. But again, VERY happy.
I get sorry we don't do small jobs like that from lady in office, because I wanted a fasica wrapped with aluminum stock!!! Good bussiness!!
I had a salesman here last week to give me a quote on a custom door. we live in a mobile home and doors are not standard sizes. What we discussed was exactly what I wanted - he took me the cost would be between $2700 - $3000. That is a custom door with matching storm.
Well the quote came in at $1000 over and when I carefully read the quote it did not appear I was getting what we had discussed.
The quote started with page 2 - where is the first page?
And I was then requoted because sometime between the time he left my house and did the quote he changed the lock to one that can be opened with a phone. That is not at all what I requested.
and the price was not $3200.
How does a salesman not know a ball park cost? I mean first $1k over discussed price and now $200 (better) but the written quote does not appear to match up with the photoshopped picture of what he showed me - I refuse to sign something unless I am 100% sure its what I wanted.
And I email & email but I am NOT getting clear answers to my questions.
If they cant get the quote to match what I am looking for then perhaps it's time to move on and look elsewhere.
We recently had Stockmohr reside our home. Overall, we are extremely disappointed at the quality of work that was done. We have had pieces of our new siding detach from the house on 3 separate occasions. Each time required a contractor to come and repair the issue.
The entire process from start to finish took much longer than predicted, and now the poor quality of their work is showing. Would not recommend.
From the sales representative to final quality assurance by the owner, I was thoroughly impressed. Being punctual for meetings or work was a top priority for each person and crew. Top off the fact all employees were professional and what appeared content with the organization they were part of, I believe transmitted into a job that was conscientiously performed and to the high standard required. I was most impressed with the final quality assurance and corrections made. It is my opinion the Stockmohr organization exceeded requirements and expectations on my job. The significant financial investment on my part was made wisely by hiring this business. I would recommend Stockmohr roofing and siding to both family and friends.
Stockmohr tore off old roof and installed new in less than a day and a half. Estimator was knowledgeable and installers were professional and polite. Didn t have to pay for the entire job until manager came out to inspect it. Very satisfied.
Great Job!!!
They did what they said they would do and what we agreed to, with great professionalism and fantastic workmanship!! I would call them again!
Our house is absolutely gorgeous. We went from having the ugliest house on the block to one of the best looking. We had the good fortune of working with Dan and Dale, they were polite, very nice and punctual. There were days they didn't leave until 7:30 at night. Hard working men. As for the work they did well we couldn't be happier it's perfect. If you are thinking about having siding done we would highly recommend Stockmohr and if you have a chance to request the workers that are going to be doing the job ask for Dan and Dale. It's a shame that they don't have more stars for the rating because I would definitely give them a 10.
We also had a roof put on our garage and the crew that handled that part of the job was excellent too. They did a beatiful job
Let me start by saying this review is based on their customer service not the overall product. Last Friday they installed a new roof on our house. The roof looks great and so far so good. However, where this company falls off is their customer service.
The owner's son Doug called me the night before. I asked him if there was anything I need to do to our landscaping. He assured me they cover everything with plywood and he would be there in the morning to review everything with me.
The next morning someone came to drop off supplies and about 10 minutes later the crew was there to begin the job. However, no one came to the door to review the project or walk the grounds with me as I had been told. At the end of the day they crew cleaned up and left. No one spoke to me the entire day. They were supposed to collect a check at the beginning and end of the project. Those checks are still sitting on my desk.
When they were done I went outside to find an entire row of flowers and a shrub flat as a pancake. The downspout extensions had not been put on. To make matters worse the crew also used my shed as their personal bathroom throughout the day.
I left a voicemail Friday evening for Doug to voice some of my concerns. Monday just before lunch I received a call from a secretary saying they would send someone out to look at it (they have yet to come out). A few minutes later I got a call from Bill our sales person to ask about the downspouts. At that time I told him how unhappy I was with the customer service aspect of it. He was surprised to hear that Doug did not show up on the day of the job, collect a check and of course the "bathroom" issue. That was the last I have heard from them. It's now two days later.
What bothers me most is that Doug is the owner in training and he doesn't seem to have an interest in rectifying a situation with an unhappy customer. It was down to Stockmohr and Black Rock for this job. I went with Stockmohr to save $800. At this point I think I made a mistake.
I will certainly update this review if any new developments occur.
**Update 7/2/2015** They did come back out and replace our bushes and downspout extensions. Which was very much appreciated. Still I had never been able to have a conversation with Doug. He just showed up unannounced and scared my wife when she open the garage and he was standing there. Then he told me he'd come by and do the final walk through. When the Stockmohr truck pulled up, guess what? No Doug. It was Doug's father. I expressed all of my concerns with their customer service and was basically told a bunch of excuses. I keep hearing how Doug is pulled in different directions. I told them it feels like my $11,000 isn't as good as their other customers. Which I was then told "no what you should feel is..." That was about all I could take. Please don't tell me how to feel. I'm the customer telling you how I feel about your service. And he also kept telling me that they aren't here to hold hands. I understand that but make me feel better about signing over the 2nd biggest check I've ever written in my life.
I was also told that Doug didn't respond to me right away because other people were shouting louder than me. I changed that pretty quickly.
Overall, workmanship I'd give them a 4 out of 5. Customer service a 2 out of 5 and that's only because they did make good on the shrubs and downspouts. If you're looking for a roof, they can put one on. If you're looking to feel good about signing over an enormous check then this isn't your place.
Our experience with Stockmohr started on the day of the horrible windstorm in WNY (March 8th). Like so many others in the Buffalo-Niagara region, we lost about 50% of the shingles on our house. We had just gone to the Buffalo Home Show the weekend prior, so we had many brochures from different roofing contractors in the area. We started calling around to different roofers immediately to get a quote for an emergency tarp to hold us over until we could get the roof fixed. A few other companies quoted us between $600 and $1000- yeah, you read that right.. $1000 for a tarp! Based on the recommendation of a coworker, I contacted Stockmohr. Stockmohr quoted us $350 for two HUGE tarps to cover 50% of our total roof and better yet, they were able to come out the very next day and get us tarped.
The following week we scheduled several estimates from a few roofing companies we were interested in. Not only did Stockmohr s quote come in over $1000 below the other three companies, it was the most detailed. We received 3-4 pages of detailed notes about what exactly needed to be done on the roof and what the recommendations were. This was especially helpful as we were working with our insurance company to get the damages covered. At first, the insurance was only willing to cover half a roof or a patch job on the shingles. Our insurance adjuster said he reviewed Stockmohr s quote and agreed to immediately cover all of Stockmohr s recommendations (a full roof replacement). The adjuster actually mentioned how it was one of the most detailed estimates he had ever received in his time working in the insurance industry.
So of course, we decided to sign a contract with Stockmohr to do the full roof replacement. I was very impressed with the entire contract-signing process. I wasn t just handed a piece of paper and told hey sign this, instead, every item of the estimate was explained line by line to us. We felt very comfortable that Stockmohr would be providing us with an excellent service.
Unlike some other shady companies in WNY that require a huge down payment for the work, Stockmohr didn t ask for anything up front. We simply had to put down a deposit the day the roof work was started and then pay a balance once completed and inspected. It took a while to schedule the roof replacement, but that is because Mother Nature wasn t very nice to us during the past few months. We just had our roof replaced this past Monday (May 8th) and we re very pleased with it. The roofers actually completed the entire tear off and replacement in one day.
In addition to how great the roof looks now and knowing we have quality shingles and quality workmanship on the roof, I would like to add that the emergency tarp really held up for TWO MONTHS. Even with several inches of rain and snow during March, April, and May, we never experienced any major leaking. We periodically went up into the attic just to verify. This was a major concern of ours since the wind ripped the roof off right down to the plywood.
We ve dealt with other roofing companies in the past and Stockmohr was by far the most professional. It was always a pleasure calling the office and speaking with Jessica who kept us informed during the entire process. As first time homeowners, it s scary to start working with contractors especially when there are so many shady companies out there. I would not hesitate to recommend Stockmohr for any of your roofing needs. Quality product and quality workmanship at a very affordable price. We ve dealt with a few other contractors in the past and Stockmohr was by far the most pleasant to deal with. Thanks, Stockmohr!
Had a Patio door installed and I cannot say enough about Alan and his partner. These guy did an excellent job, before
they even started the job they went over everything that was to be done. These guys are meticulous and take pride in what they do. They were on time, completed the job on schedule and walked me through everything thing that was done. The clean up was great! I highly recommend this company .
We just hade our house sided....the 2 brothers who did it were top notch...I can't rave enough about their work....I'm pissed they packed up and left before I thanked them...they know I was sleeping..next are gutters but what a great job so far
I had Ken, one of the salesmen, out to my house in early July. We spent 45 minutes discussing new siding, windows, doors, gutters and house trim. Given the late start of the work year due to the pandemic, I was advised to give 2 weeks for the estimate. After 3 weeks from our meeting, no estimate. I called and left voicemails on Ken s voicemail and even sent an email. Never heard back. Luckily one of the competitors gave me a price I was happy with and they got my business.
They did my gutters last year (2015). The workmanship was outstanding. The crew that came to the house was extremely professional and courteous. i would recommend them for all construction needs.
we had our home reroofed 2 years ago , my hat is off to a quality company , awesome workmanship, just looked at roof , NOT one shingle out of place , this a a company to have do your home improvements
THANK YOU , STOCKMOHR for another quality job
Stockmohr did a great job on our home. Very accommodating & extremely hard working people. New roofing, siding & most windows replaced. Just a few 'tweeks' needed to make the total job perfect. We're confident they'll be back as promised.
We did think they'd return but, they never did. So, we've lived with the imperfections.
