I was not granted a satisfactory dispute process. They won't answer any questions, or substantiate things. They have knowingly provided an inaccurate representation of my motor vehicle history. They have not established if their report is certified. They do not account for their verification practices. They do not uphold their professed mission or core values. Christina O. from the dispute department was unprofessional and hung up on me during my dispute process. Mysteriously all of her coworkers do not know who she is and will not acknowledge that she closed my dispute or even works there. Coincidentally everything reached a failure point-I was sent to the director's voicemail with no response or anticipated time of response, and the authorizing agency that ordered Sterling to conduct my check is inaccessible-after being on hold with an agent from Sterling Talent Solution I can no longer access my account, view the original contract or see the formal background check report. The woman that Christina spoke to from the DMV stated to her 4 times that my record was clean and when I tried to talk to her about this, Christina terminated the conversation and stated that my dispute is closed. This is a collective laconic response and will most likely end in all parties waiting for a deadline to be reached so that I am terminated by default of a response from me because noone is available and my account is suddenly, coincidentally inaccessible to ensure a acceptable dispute process.

Absolutely awful company. Messed up my employment verification, did not even consider ways to rectify the situation, I had to be proactive to solve my issue and then the support team sounded upset I was calling them to request confirmation that everything was in order. If you can avoid them, do so.

Awful company. Highly unprofessional and incapable of running a proper background check.

It's 2018 and the company apparently hasn't heard of linkedin let alone oAuth or other ways to fill out employment history. They also have zero customer service for when they have questions about employment history.

I will never recommend them or any company that uses them.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY BACKGROUND CHECKS.

1. THEY ARE LOCATED IN THE PHILIPPINES
2. THEY ONLY HIRE OUTSIDE WORKERS, NOT U.S. WORKERS
3. THEIR FILIPINO WORKERS ARE EXTREMELY RUDE
4. THEY SAY, THEY HAVE SUPERVISORS AND MANAGERS TOTAL BULLSHIT. THEY DON'T EXIST.
6. THEY WILL KEEP YOU ON THE PHONE LYING, KANIVING AND GIVING YOU THE RUN AROUND.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY, THAT HIRES ONLY OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES, STEALING JOBS FROM AMERICAN WORKERS...

Absolute worst, I don't get the job because the person calling is barely understandable (strong foreign accent), at least got my DOT health card and can perhaps apply to a company that does not use this TERRIBLE company for background checks. If you use a personal/professional reference this company should have to identify themselves BEFORE they proceed with questioning your reference as there are a ton of scammers out there with strong foreign accents.

Really bad customer service, but it's slowly getting better. They out source their customer service overseas, so there is quite a language barrier. Pretty much impossible to get in touch with someone in this country.

Pulled a incorrect background check with crimes someone committed in another state, when I was 9, with the wrong birth date! And they refuse to correct! You cannot run a background check without a SS number! Using only first and last name does not make any sense. My first and last name are both very common. 0 stars.

I received a request for employment information from SterlingBackcheck for Joi Arnae Sullivan, she's never been an employee here, but the troubling thing is SterlingBackcheck included all of Joi's Social Security number.

For a company that does background checks, this seems awfully irresponsible with sensitive client information.

I searched for Joi on Google and found nobody. I'd planned on calling her and letting her know SterlingBackcheck was sending her number to strangers, but posting this low rating will have to do.

I would avoid using this company if they send whole social security numbers.

This place is horrible. I've received a phone call from them every day this week because they were unable to contact my previous employers. They said they weren't able to reach anybody, but I was able to quite easily. By the third phone call, it was clear that I was doing their job for them.

Poor company can not get any one thats speaks English all of it is choppy and there is no real person there all a third party and the IRS SAID not to deal with them a lot of lets just say is getting bad for sterling they are thieves for steeling peoples personal imformation. ITs far from over for them.

Has DESTROYED our lives with FALSE info! Reporting someone elses criminal (3 time felon) from a state my husband has NEVER even been to. Taking their sweet time to fix because they have effed up so many others! Getting a lawyer and suing these ppl today! Anyone else victimized? Let's start a class action lawsuit!

THIS COMPANY SUCKS........ they have delayed me on a job a total of 6 times now.

This company has cost me 5 jobs within one year because of the way they categorize the background checks from Level 1 to Level 3. Causing companies that will hire persons with Misdemeanors to NOT hire those persons because they believe the Level 3 means a felony conviction. And Sterling says "We do not have a say in the decision making process". That's a complete lie, they give the "Recommendations" to employers on who to hire and who not to hire. And I I've gotten this information from all 5 potential employers. Facebook, Twitter, Vine, Yelp, Google, CNN, MSNBC, everywhere will see this post and more like it.

Unable to resolve an issue - locked out of my account - even though the invoice has been paid and they have processed my payment. Customer service just passes the case to another person each time I call. Service rep is non-responsive to my request for help.

Horrible service, absolute incompetence when gathering information. Blows my mind companies hire them.

Place gives you the run around and delays you working with companies on how much info they need.

I tried several times to do a background check for employment and they keep saying my social security number can't be verified. I called them and left a message for them to call me. They called me back from Morocco. I live in the USA. They said my social security number is too old. Are they kidding? A social security number is for life. I don't even think they know anything about social security numbers'. This company is useless.

Good when TalentWise, now horrible customer service. Never able to reach a customer service rep. Not proactive in trying to resolve any issues. Phone number is not even posted on your dashboard. Just terrible!

Waiting for an email to do a urinalysis for my job. After reading the reviews (funny how all the employees rate 5 ) I'm not confident they'll send an email, or if they do, send it to the correct email address. I don't need this kind of stress.

Irresponsible with information given to them. Sent sensitive employee data over Seas. Poor, unprofessional company.

I completed their form for a background check for a new position and they refused to contact my previous employers, saying they had no response. When I contacted my former employers, no one had contacted them. Next, this company demanded my tax returns and I knew then that was not a normal part of any background check. I have been through many of these and NEVER had been asked for my tax returns-total scam. The calls I received were from persons who could not even speak English. Additionally, there was no information on their security and encryption protections for personal information and my request for a copy of my report was marked no . Completely unprofessional!

my background check is projected to take 24 days. Most companies can do it in less than 30 minutes. Going to cause me to lose a position at the company I am applying for. WTG

I just got denied a job because these people didn't even try to contact my former employer..i gave them all the info needed as well as past tax forms proving my employemt..used a American ran buisness for next job ..3 days ..done ..i started with these guys dec 6 19 and its now 7 jan20 ..hope you dont get theae guys ..because india background checks suck.

I wish this american founded company would hire american talent. The people that answer have no idea when it comes American law such as LLC, DBAs and differnet tax numbers... They resort to google for all their findings.. Truly embarrassing for the applicant and the company they claim to represent.

Bad company! They provide inaccurate results and use no common sense. Their customer service is not in the US and they have no idea what they re doing. Terrible place to get your background check done!

If I was a corporation I would not use this company. They have sat on my background check for almost two weeks waiting on a city that I lived in for 6 months. It took me to call them for them to expedite the request. I asked the telephone operator why they were not proactive after not hearing from this city for a freaking week! She could not answers because maybe even to her, its stupid policy. I now can not start work tomorrow and I am beyond irritated!!!! Do not use this lazy company!

I'm trying to use their product just now. I've filled it out 4 times, doesn't work. I called their help tech, they told me to use Internet Explorer on Mac. IE hasn't been updated since 2003 and is no longer supporter by Microsoft. So... No. I then asked to speak to someone else because that's TERRIBLE tech advice. They put me on hold for 30 minutes and then hung up on me.

I spoke to my employer and they said that Sterling keeps changing the software but not telling them, and it's making things really complicated and frustrating. I don't know much about this space, but I'd certainly look at other products before selecting one that doesn't work well and seems to actively frustrate customers.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. This is an entirely OUTSOURCED company. All their reps are offshore and DO NOT KNOW what they are doing. I submitted my W2s and my pay stubs for background verification and they marked them as 'Unacceptable Documents' to the employer. I am NOT SURPRISED at all because I guarantee no on at this place even knows what IRS or W2 or pay stub stands for... (may be they know what a pay stub is). This costed me a delay of one week.

EMPLOYERS - STAY AWAY ! This is a HORRIBLE company.

They do not deserve one star! I received a call from a Joel about a "background investigation." He was recording the call without my permission and refused to stop. I hung up.

Can't apply for a job because they can't accept my application after paying FIVE times. They have a "glitch" in their system. I GAVE UP finally...would get ZERO stars but they force you to pick a 1 star review.

Terrible customer service, phone rep was awful, would only give his first name as Bob, no ID# and would not put his supervisor on the phone. UTC made a terrible choice on this vendor.

For a background check company, they're completely useless finding information on their own. You have to do all the leg work and they "read" the paperwork you've submitted and write a "report". Any fool with a PC can find MOST of the information they request, with a simple internet search. How they get contracts with these big name corporations is beyond me.

Sterling verified my employment with a previous employer but the hr secretary gave them the wrong information. The magnitude of the discrepancy was so large that anyone with half a brain should have questioned the response. Sterling took no responsibility to make a follow up contact. If I was a client of Sterling that would be the end of my relationship as a vendor.

This is truly a terrible place for background checks, they cant locate simple information. Their support is terrible and will tell you no additional information is needed for your BC and then an hour later you get an email for additional information. I feel like i was doing most of their job providing my previous employment history, even though I already provided it several times in previous checks, and a simple google search could provided them the answers. Not exactly sure what they even do here.
