Stellar Cellular is great. I have purchased three refurbished phones from them over the years. All worked perfectly. The fourth time the phone was a lemon. I brought it back for a fix and picked it up the next day. It still didn't work properly and I had to leave town. The owner resolved the problem by replacing the lemon with a better phone at the same price. Solid guy. Great prices, smart people, and honourable business practices.
Amazing service! Called before I dropped off my phone to make sure Stellar could fix it and diagnosis was spot on - fixed my phone while I waited for the price quoted and in under 30 minutes - super impressed.
Not sure why he gets good revues. My experience was absolutely appalling. He screwed up the job and I had to go back the next day. Then he sent me away for a few hours, wasting my time. When I got back he had done nothing. Then he got rude and verbally abusive trying to make me the bad guy for his screw up. Couldn't admit he had goofed. All he had to do was own up to his screw up and apologize for wasting my time. Got my regular tech support guy to sort it out. Was planning to go back here to buy a new phone, cause there are so many good reviews. Never going near here again. This is the worst customer service I have ever received and this guy is totally deranged. He needs help. Wish I could give him zero stars.
The Hipster Treatment. Worst customer service experience, and very unethical business practices. The cantankerous manager who runs the place sold me a defective phone, and when I asked for it to be repaired or replaced, he pulled a hissy fit, blaming me for the damages. I never had this kind of experience. This is the closest thing that comes to theft without being theft. I paid for a phone that completely stopped working, and without examining the issue the passive aggressive employee said that the 'damage' is my fault and it is not covered. He became rude and defensive. I then left, arrived to work frustrated, and when I told my colleagues what happened, one of them mentioned that he had a similar experience with the same disgruntled employee at Stellar six months earlier. Anyway, I'll write a claim letter and will try to recover my money, because this store is preying on poor students and getting away with robbery. Avoid this store like the plague. I felt it is my civic duty to warn fellow Torontonians about this awful establishment that's scamming consumers.
Excellent customer service. Richard was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for cellular repairs.
Insulting and Disgusting staff. I went to Stellar Cellular to give away my used video games which I never touched them. So, anyways. this guy with a red beard at the counter said in a very deranged voice "You are not welcome in this store, see the door. Get Out" I left very disappointed. DON'T GO TO THIS STORE, BOYCOTT THIS OVERZEALOUS HIPSTER STORE, JUST STAY AWAY FROM THERE.
Even though I've moved to the other end of the city I still travel back to Stellar simply because they are really great to their customers. They are competent, courteous & not out to crazy rip you off. Friendly & lovely group of people!
Went in to get my iPhone screen fixed. They did it cheaper than the store in my area and I can tell these guys are pros. They seem to have all the proper tools and got my screen fixed in about 20 minutes .
Came across this awesome place on a walk along College. They had a pretty wild window display which instantly caught my eye! Upon further investigation I realized that they had some awesome deals in the store, with merchandise always changing on a day to day basis! Traded in my old phone and upgraded to a galaxy S3! Very happy with the service that was provided to me!
These guys are the best. Great Service to solve my Samsung S4 from the loop boot issue. The traditional solution didn't work and the tried an alternative that did. Great pricing as well!
I've had really good luck here. I haven't bought one of their phones (they have some good prices on what I presume are used or refurbished phones), but I have been in twice for batteries and they have provided me with what appear to be truly new batteries for a very good price. Buying batteries online always seems to be a gamble, but Stella offers solid products that look and perform as new.
Promised to have my MacBook Air fix in a couple hours, dropped it off at 10:30am and at 7pm still wasn't finished. When I asked for my computer back he said "good now I don't have to deal with it"

The store ripped me off. I brought in my iphone 6 for them to unlock. They charged me $100 and said they couldn't unlock a Sprint phone and would not return my money. Very unethical.
Best place for cell phone repairs, honest and efficient, they charge the lowest rates for repairs and won't take your phone or money if they don't feel they can or should do it.
There can be a bit of a wait to be served as Richard tends to be constantly working on small intricate electronics and his priority seems to be on meeting the times he said he would rather than ramming more customers into the queue. I'm sure people can get annoyed by it, but they dont understand that its actually better for them in the end if they can wait, as he will be able to get yours done quicker if he clears some devices while you wait 10 minutes.
I purchase my SONIM phone 3 weeks ago. The man named Richard, who is the owner of this Stellar Cellular business told me that I"ll have 30 days warranty - no issues. This phone cost me over $800 with tax. On the phone box, before I purchased was a warranty for 3 years that was glued to the back of the box by the manufacturer. I got pretty excited about that I bought the phone; same day of my purchase I went on the official site of Sonim, and found out I was missing a form where it says 3 years warranty ,as well as the manual book. I called Richard the next day and told him my concern. He said "No worries. I will ask my supplier. Give me one week and call back ." After a week, I called, and the man said he doesn't have anything from supplier and he asked me to give him another week. After second week I called again and got exactly the same reply. There is no paperwork, he told me, nothing from his supplier so I either have to accept it or bring the phone back and get the full refund. So here I am, coming at 3:00 p.m. on May 5th, 2016 to the store, the store is closed, the man named Richard is not there and there is a little note on the door. "Be back between 4:30 and 5 p.m."
This man came at 5:30 p.m. looking upset.He asked me " you actually want your refund?" I said yes, just like we agreed,than he said he doesn't have time for me and told me that he has to check the phone for damage and doesn't have time for that right now. ,"go home and come back tomorrow. if you want you're money back, and you don't want me to go "South," you have to PLEASE ME AND GO HOME NOW OR I WILL CHANGE MY MIND AND WILL NOT GIVE YOU THE REFUND. "Imagine, something like that you will hear as you trying to return some item ?Say at Wall Mart or Cosco or even Shoppers? The customer service will tell you-.. go home!!! please me today!!! Or... I will go South and no refund!!!! As funny as it sound it , it wasnt funny 4 me.. I felt that bad.. but defiantly I felt bad, awkward embarrassed !Beside me in line was a big tall man, so the owner of the shop looked at him and asked if we were together. I said no. So then he went ahead and started to yell at me even more in front of 3 other customers, saying that if I won't disappear right now, I will never see my money. !!! I believe if i had a man with me at that moment, he would not acted that way. What a shame really, I thought in Canada man and woman should be treated equally with respect!!.This shop has the worst customer service I ever experienced in my life in Canada !! I had to wait over 2 HOURS for him, pay my parking ticket, cancel several important appointments and get embarrassed and humiliated in front of others."I'm very busy,he repeated- satisfy me and go away, or I change my mind! " Than he pulled some funky plastic sigh- no refund! " See, he said, you are done, no money for you!" My girlfriend who was with me all this time was shocked ! Who treat their customers this way??! No respect, no dignity,no customer service what so ever at this store !!! He also sells phony items that don't even have the users manual or an original warranty, if this guy promise to give you a store warranty, please don"t believe! He just wants your money! This guy is full of tricks and lies . Personally I don"t know if he gets new items or he gets stolen items.. I will never buy anything there ever again!! This guy basically called my girl a porch monkey after she returned her phone from him screwing up a screen replacement. Do what you want but this place is racist and intolerant. Support with your money and screw these racist men
My Iphone just stopped working. Of course it was just out of warranty. I have everything on there. I went into the store with great panic and loathing. In 3 hours the Owner had discovered and fixed the problem. It was the most down and then UP experience I have ever had.
Had a problem with my Motorola X 2014 and needed to replace the charging port. Motorola's 3rd party support quoted me $375 to fix it. I ordered the part on eBay and Stellar Cellular did a great job replacing it for a fraction of the price.
I brought in an Apple iPhone 6S that was not powering up, sudden death. Apple Yorkdale and Fairview had deemed the phone a toss-away, they said the board was fried. We had too much information on it that I could not simply replace the motherboard. I called many places around the city and no one wanted to touch it, since apple said It was fried. I brought it in to Richard, he opened it up and within minutes told me what's wrong with it and gave an estimate. Two hours later, the phone was ready. I literally wasted my time going to the Apple store. This should have been my first stop. Richard seems to be a knowledgeable and honest guy, well mannered family man and even Jovial!
His price may not be the lowest, but it certainly is not the highest. The bigger guys in the city did not want to touch the phone, he delved right in and saved my phone and more importantly my information. I would recommend him without hesitation.

Had a really finicky power button issue with a samsung galaxy S2. Guys fixed it within an hour, but the fix didn't take.
Had to bring it back, kinda sucked, but they were super nice about it and fixed it properly the second time around. Wasn't the end of the world, still deserving of a 5 star rating.
The 2 techs they have there are proper ninjas.
Called ahead asking if they were open and was told they were, confirmed a service they provided; arrived at the location afterwards to no employee, locked store with open sign on and no one answering the phone. Waited 15 minutes thinking maybe they were using the bathroom, got annoyed and left.
Terrible attitude and no idea what they're doing. I brought in my phone which was stuck in a boot cycle when I turned it on, the logo displayed on screen permanently and never started up all the way. I wasn't totally hopeful that a random store would be able to fix the bug, but I figured I would try anyways. The guy takes my phone, looks at it for 2 minutes, and tells me it's a "problem with the power button" and it'll cost $100 to replace it.
I have no idea how you would arrive at that conclusion given the phone *stays on*, it is not turning on and off or anything like that and the button feels smooth and clicky, not stuck at all. I asked how it's possible to get a permanent boot cycle with a broken power button, and they were completely dismissive and rude to me for daring to question their judgement. Literal quote: "Well, you came to the doctor, and that's my diagnosis". Completely snarky and rude.
I brought it somewhere else and they saw the problem for what it was, a SOFTWARE problem. They were able to fix it though the phone was wiped (which is okay since a majority of my stuff was on the SD)
I saw good reviews for stellar cellular for replacing broken screens and things like that. I have no doubt these guys are able to stay in business with things such as that. But throw them a REAL problem and they have no clue what they're talking about. Do NOT risk going here.
This place rocks! I can't even believe how responsive and professional they were, how fast they were able to repair my phone, and how reasonable the charges were. This is my best retail experience of 2013. If the store owner is reading this, thank you so much for all the service you gave me for my $40 order! It blew my mind. :)

When the screen on my GNex phone broke, I sent it to Samsung for repair... Big mistake!
After waiting about 7 weeks without any new development, I got fed up and asked them to return my phone non-repaired... Took it to the guys at Stellar and 1 hour later, I had my phone back with a new screen and fully tested.
I had talked to these guys at Stellar a few times before and had the overwhelming impression that they knew their stuff but that experience confirmed it.
I recommend them to everyone I know.
If you have any phone trouble, just talk to them! You'll never regret it!

This store is more than a cell phone store, be prepared to be absorbed by retro video games, toys, and other terrific art when you enter. Richard (the owner), was super helpful and fixed my broken screen on my Nexus 5 within the hour. He guarantees his work, and was really personable. I definitely recommend this place if you need repairs or if you just want to shop for some retro electronics.

I responded to an ad on kijiji and was asked to pick up the item at the store.
The good: I got a Kobo Aura for $80.
The bad: I went in at 5:20pm so maybe their sales staff had left for the day but the guy who brought me the ereader had very poor customer skills. All my questions were answered with dumb snarky comments. I would hate to deal with him in case something breaks down or the product is defective.
Conclusion: I personally value good customer service hence I won't be going back but for you the reader I will say that their prices seem reasonable so it might just be worth it

My Galaxy S6's power button wasn't working. I had it fixed here for a very reasonable price. I did have to come back once because the first fix didn't hold but on my second visit, my power button was entirely replaced and there was no additional cost. Both times took about an hour. The guy I dealt with was friendly, attentive, and overall had good customer service. I would definitely come back here.
