The food is delicious! Employees were super nice. Fried peanut butter & jelly sandwich and mac & cheese. So good. Their unsweetened iced tea is perfect. Usually homemade tea is very weak but this was strong. I will definitely be back.
Steel City is like a home away from home where the amazing staff make you feel like one of the family. Chef Laura Vernola-Simpson's incredible menu is perfect and delicious and you'll rave about the house made ice creams, jams, and scrumpdiddlyumpsih deserts anytime of the day. There are events for kids, families, music lovers and more. Check the website for upcoming shows, kids storytimes, and more!
This spot is worth trying. They serve large portions for reasonable rates. Regularly clean and with excellent atmosphere. Highly recommended.
I'm an amateur poet out of Norristown, I was there last night for open mic. The announcer was a pretentious Brad Paisley wannabe but other than that it was wonderful. The audience was supportive even though I almost totally unraveled at the seams on stage and I thank them for that.
The owners are crushing it. The food is way way better than I would expect for a coffee shop. I was immensely surprised with the quality of the cold brew, the loving community vibe, and the attentiveness of the staff. I ve been coming to Steel City for 10 years off and on, and the new owners (who have had it for 2 years) are the first that make me feel energized about both the music but also the strength of their business. I love to see a local business who is diversified but also listens to their core customers who want coffee and music. Wait, they have beer now too?!? Heck yea.
Great place. Good food, good coffee, friendly staff. The only criticism I have is the placement of the register creates a bottleneck of people when it's busy.
Full service coffee shop & pub. Food & Live music offered. Parking on street or nearby pay lots. Wide selection of food, coffee & teas, desserts, including vegan & gluten free options. They feature many locally sourced menu items which is super cool. Support this local gem.
Ordered a biscuit sandwich to go, took waaaay too long.
Steel City Catered a luncheon for us..sandwiches, salads, desserts. Everything was fresh and tasty. highly recommend
Great music venue. A little crowded but works. Fantastic food and deserts...and coffee drinks. New owners are awesome.
I really enjoyed this coffee shop. Coffee and food were great and I loved the giant mug that somehow was only a medium. Wish I had more time to stay for the live music. Will definitely come back when I am in the area.
awesome atmosphere. nice staff. good breakfast food although small menu.
Great coffee, very friendly staff, love the little market!
Nice coffeehouse atmosphere. Coffee and breakfast in the morning.
Beer and music on weekends
Jeffery Gaines last week was absolutely Entertaining!
Always the greatest coffee and teas! The best entertainment and community involvement!
Always friendly, wonderful coffee and this time I tried a pastry! I often don t get pastries when I m out because I m pretty good at making my own, but I knew I was never going to make scones with pistachios and cardamom....it was delicious!
Coffee and beer, vegan sweets for my sweetie, funky cool vibe. Great way to start the day.
I cant start my day without steel city. Awesome staff and food is always great. Favorite coffee shop in town.
Food was good.. Love the Kombucha tea. My husband loves their coffee.
Best place for a breakfast sandwich in Phoenixville. They have plenty of gluten free options if that s something you need. I love the egg and cheese biscuit! I usually order it with added protein (sausage) and gluten free bread. My husband likes the chicken and black bean burrito w/ added bacon. Their online ordering system, found on their website, is super easy to use and perfect for grab and go during Covid times. I m thankful for all the safety measures they ve put into place during this time.
Nice vibe. A little busy, which should be interpreted as energetic more than distracting. I had the vegetarian broccoli and chickpea soup. It was delicious! The coffee was okay. I just had the dark roast house coffee. The primary complaint was the temperature. It was somewhat warm, but nowhere near as hot as it should have been. The menu was varied, serving breakfast all day. Plenty of spots to plug in a laptop and stay for a while. Seating was average. Not uncomfortable, but it might be after an hour. I would go back, mostly because of the menu and it's a place you can 'just be' for a while.
Great food here. They have live shows many nights and charge a cover, so check beforehand if you're just looking for an evening cup of coffee. Place can be loud inside of it's busy.
This is one of our hometown favorites. Food is really good, love the coffee, atmosphere is laid back, and have heard some great live music here. To top.it off, the owners rock! You won't be disappointed!
Saw Terri Camilari, great venue and Terri is wonderful .
A beautiful place thats inviting and open to everyone! Wonderful food, paintings for sale by local artists and an amazing selection of drinks- caffienated or not!
Nice special breakfast sandwich and a wonderful latte.
I have to come back for a pro show. Nice, live, cozy. Great find, Great acts. POL in Phoenixville.
Definitely not a great employer..they'll try and trade you off as soon as you turn your back, and pay is below standard..The food is pretty good though with options for vegan.
Great local spot. Stop in for coffee but will be going back for the various events they have.
Awesome atmosphere. Great place to get your morning coffee or a bite to eat- highly recommend the breakfast burrito. Their lunch menu is great too. Love coming here to work or meet clients!
Nice intimate venue for watching a local Grateful Dead cover band, Steal Your Face.
Awesome atmosphere and great cold brew coffee! #RighteousCapone
Not sure what roastery they get their coffee from. Was ok. The vibe is fantastic though. Very artsy.
Amazing, so great! Homemade ice cream, vegan treats, tea, coffee... live music! Just amazing... all I have to say!
My family loves Steel City!
We come here every Wednesday while one child has their piano lesson at C.J.'s Pianos around the corner and have a great time then swap for the other's turn to get a treat. There's often small business professionals working and the great music isn't too loud. The coffee is always good and the food is terrific! Definitely the best quick bite to eat in town!
Most of these negative reviews sound like illiterate goons who walked into a small-town cafe/venue expecting a 5 star restaurant or performing arts center. Steel City is perfect for what it is. And with the new ownership and renovations, it's on it's way to become an even bigger hot spot in the Philly suburbs.
It's intimate (5 stars).
The food is delicious and decently priced (3.5-4 stars)
It's trendy and family friendly (5 stars)
The service is great most times (4 stars)
The sound is ever-improving, and better than 90% other venues of it's size (4 stars)
But most importantly, it's run by people who care about the community. It has stayed open through the hardest times and shown that whoever is managing this space wants to do more than just profit on business - and they're constantly looking for ways to improve. That alone is enough to give 5 stars.
Steel City is my favorite coffee house in Phoenixville. They have a great menu including Baba's Brew (A Phoenixville kombucha), friendly staff, convenient location, and are priced well. Their food has always been very tasty and my girlfriend loves the coffee. I enjoy the ambiance and the seating in the windows allows for some great people & doggo watching. I'm incredibly excited for them to start brewing/serving beer as well! Check this place out!
I loved the fresh avocado turkey sandwich with kombucha on tap! Susanna my barista was friendly and helpful!
Great morning mojo medium roast and delicious breakfast sandwich this morning! Super friendly too
The coffee is average, and their pastry selection is limited. But..Great location and a great venue for life music. I have not tried their food, but that could be another star. I have just not tried it.
Food and service were excellent!! Totally enjoyed the live music. We will definitely be back!
Awesome hip.little spot. Bohemian, artsy vibe but not at all pretentious. Friendly staff and an interesting mix of people. Very relaxing and cozy and prices are great. Only downside is parking in downtown phoenixville.
Best cook for a coffee house! Nicely prepared and we didn't have to wait long even tho the place was packed for a Sunday afternoon. You won't be disappointed.
Excellent grilled cheese and bacon! Good coffee too. A tad bit expensive and parking can be rough, especially for physically challenged people. I enjoyed myself! Great service!
Service is always quick and their mocha can't be beat
I love Steel City! Awesome food and drink, relaxed atmosphere, and friendly staff.
Enjoyed myself. Extra special when your daughter knocks it out the park!!
Local independent coffee & original recipes cafe. Breakfast served throughout the day( check for kitchen service hours) This is my go-to coffee shop. The owner/ operators and their staff are really cool, I really like the laid back atmosphere. Live music on a regular basis.
Good coffee, good vibe. Walls are decorated will local artists.
Delicious food, wonderful customer service, and lovely atmosphere.
Great coffee good place to visit, also good food, and they have a brewery downstairs. Jc
First time here. Matcha was delicious. Esthetic was very nice. Want to come back to try to vegan scones and for an open mic night
Best spiced chai I've had since I've moved to Pennsylvania
Bad sound. The only stage where you can be 10 feet from the artist, but hear every sound as over-amplified noise that sounds like its coming from 100 feet away in a parking lot gig.
Delicious food and coffee. The barista made it special!
I guess it's trendy but I am not really the trendy type. Kind of pricy. The coffee was pretty good. I was given the option of subbing out my potatoes for asperagus and mushrooms and they were delicious. I was there for breakfast. It was a nice place with a stage for entertainment. I guess I did like it.
This is and awesome coffee shop with amazing service! Highly reccomend the spinach croissant and vegan burrito!!
Warm intimate and groovy hang out, great food great staff, great acoustics!
My Online order was handled perfectly and with cheer. The food was delicious
Great Place for a relaxed setting to listen to local Bands. Must try the Cream Puffs!
Amazing coffee, food, and hip environment. A must visit networking spot or breakfast meeting in Phoenixville.
I recently visited for the first time and had a delicious cappuccino and also a toffee biscotti. The atmosphere is eclectic and relaxed. It was a perfect place to sit and have a conversation. Good use of the space available for seating. Would love to come back and catch an open mike night.
Great place for food and drink. A gem unique to Phoenixville.
I love it!! This is the firt time here my sister sandy jorgensen sang tonight and it was great! Others played as well Brad Rowe played and the band Florida Wayne played and they were great as well.
Good coffee a bit pricey. Nice live entertainment and community events. Had a meet and greet with local cartoonist. Loved it.
Friendly staff, great coffee. I ordered a breakfast burrito. It was awesome, filling and tasty
Great place for live music, we enjoyed singing and guitar playing of Ben Arnold. Try the french onion soup and if you are really hungry the mac-n-cheese with bacon.
