Seriously I don't know how they have the privilege of calling theirselves a STEAKHOUSE. GROSS. OVER PRICED FOR A PAPER THIN STEAK. I got a prime rib med rare tasted like roast beef. My date got a ribye THIN as paper no flavor for 24.99. Spare yourself from ever wasting 50-60$. Waitress was slow. Still have the smell of terrible smoke in my hair. Sides were GROSS also. Only good thing is a dang salad bar.....wow!

This place is a true Dallas original. What a gem. The steak is great, the value is even better (there is no reason to pay $50+ for any steak), and the staff is excellent. On our way out, three people said bye to us. During our meal a manager checked on us. Service was impeccable.

Also, the decor in the back room is awesome.

I originally reviewed this restaurant at a one, because they did not get my order correct after having to drive all the way across town to pick it up. Once I called and let them know they said come back in will make it right. They did exactly that in the food was very good. The manager originally told me that he would have given me a refund on my money, but I told him is long as the food was good it would be OK. Well, without a doubt the food was good, but the key lime pie was excellent. Thank you for doing it right! The only reason they didn't get a 5 was because I did have to travel across town twice to get my full order. Keep up the good work!

The meats are grilled on an open fire in the middle of the restaurant and the atmosphere was awesomely nostalgic!!! The prices are very reasonable and the wait staff was friendly and accommodating!!! We'll def be back!

I ve heard of Dunston s for many years but assumed I d not enjoy since the prices were so inexpensive....Boy was that a mistake! I hd the 6 oz filet, salad and baked potato for $12.95 and it was EXCELLENT! I was prepared to have a grissly steak but it was not at all, in fact, it had one of the best flavors I ve had in awhile! The service was great as well! My husband & I will be back soon, maybe even become regulars

I was shocked at how delicious this place was. When I walked in, I got the Golden Corral feel because I could see them grilling the steaks from the door, but I grossly misjudged. The 70s booths and tables were fun to sit in, I had a devine filet mignon and baked potato, and topped it off with the best dang Colorado Bulldog I've ever been served! The waiter was hard to find and to be assigned, and I felt like they wanted to close the place down at 830 instead of 10pm so service was spotty, but the ambiance and food quality would make me return. I didn't find out about the backroom till after I paid and got up to leave. It's a portal to the Mad Men 60s era in there with candlelit bowls on every table and booth, and a full bar complete with a fella wiping out bar glasses with a white towel. Will 100% be back to dine in that section and feel like a Don Draper dame next time I'm in Dallas!

Just a great, old fashioned steak house. The price is insanely reasonable and they have a great salad bar.

I will warn you that it is "wood fired" which means it smells like a campfire in the establishment. I don't mind the smell but I know others may be more sensitive.

Highly recommend.

I spent months trying to find the perfect steakhouse in Dallas for my brother's bachelor party. We wanted a place that could accommodate a large party, would let us do separate checks, had reasonable prices, and a great steak! I called multiple places... Kenny's couldn't fit our party, other places couldn't split checks, others were going to cost $50+ per steak. I saw some reviews for Dunston's, then saw their amazing menu (plus amazing prices) and decided to give them a call. The woman I spoke with was extremely nice, answered my questions about fitting our large party and splitting checks, and booked us immediately. First off, our server Dennis was AMAZING. He handled our larger party with ease, (even with still having other tables), he was simply amazing at his job. We were never without a drink, he had great recommendations and tips, menu knowledge, and we didn't wait to long for anything, ON A SATURDAY NIGHT. The place looked super nice on the inside, and the entire staff was very professional. I got a bone in 36oz Ribeye for $36, and that included a side and an unlimited salad bar. The quality of the steak is PHENOMENAL. I am not lying when I say that I will dine here every time I visit Dallas. Everything was perfect.
