Old school steak and salad bar restuarant, I also love love the chicken fried steak.
One of the best spots in the area. Service is typically good.
Great food
Fillet streak yummy.
Great food and a 1960's look. Stepped up food quality and PRICES since the family coup took place. Not many places left like this.. once a week..
Seriously I don't know how they have the privilege of calling theirselves a STEAKHOUSE. GROSS. OVER PRICED FOR A PAPER THIN STEAK. I got a prime rib med rare tasted like roast beef. My date got a ribye THIN as paper no flavor for 24.99. Spare yourself from ever wasting 50-60$. Waitress was slow. Still have the smell of terrible smoke in my hair. Sides were GROSS also. Only good thing is a dang salad bar.....wow!
Great spot for an appetite of any size. The service here is better than most. This place has a cool atmosphere. Makes me feel like I am back in Tucson.
Love Dustons. Go every year for birthday. Steaks great. Food and service very good. Comphy atmosphere. Full salad bar. Calamari excellent .
It was ok, very average. Mite like a sirloin Stockade back in the day
My favorite steak house with a cozy neighborhood ambience
This place is fantastic! The fried ribeye is spot on, and the staff are just what we were hoping for! We will absolutely be coming back as much as we possibly can!
A throwback that has never failed. Great food and wonderful customer service! Ask for the butter and honey for the bread. You may need a 12 step program to cure your addiction.
This place is a true Dallas original. What a gem. The steak is great, the value is even better (there is no reason to pay $50+ for any steak), and the staff is excellent. On our way out, three people said bye to us. During our meal a manager checked on us. Service was impeccable.
Also, the decor in the back room is awesome.
The greatest meal
My husband and I had ever had for $64
Warm Bread and amazing sweet honey butter is served as you walk in .
We got 2 salad buffet ( it s a must )
A Filet wrapped in bacon
Ribeye steak cooked to perfection

Coffees to go
Here s a tip : GO PARK IN THE BACK ! ENTER THE BACK DOOR and seat yourself ! don t go through the front it s not the same experience. You re welcome
One of the best salad bars in DFW! The grill is in front where you can see and smell all the wonderful meats! Never disappoints!
I originally reviewed this restaurant at a one, because they did not get my order correct after having to drive all the way across town to pick it up. Once I called and let them know they said come back in will make it right. They did exactly that in the food was very good. The manager originally told me that he would have given me a refund on my money, but I told him is long as the food was good it would be OK. Well, without a doubt the food was good, but the key lime pie was excellent. Thank you for doing it right! The only reason they didn't get a 5 was because I did have to travel across town twice to get my full order. Keep up the good work!
The meats are grilled on an open fire in the middle of the restaurant and the atmosphere was awesomely nostalgic!!! The prices are very reasonable and the wait staff was friendly and accommodating!!! We'll def be back!
I ve heard of Dunston s for many years but assumed I d not enjoy since the prices were so inexpensive....Boy was that a mistake! I hd the 6 oz filet, salad and baked potato for $12.95 and it was EXCELLENT! I was prepared to have a grissly steak but it was not at all, in fact, it had one of the best flavors I ve had in awhile! The service was great as well! My husband & I will be back soon, maybe even become regulars
Decent food, but nothing to write home about. The interior of the restaurant is aging, but has a nice "old world pub" feel.
Incredible! Wonderful good and ambiance. A perfect place for a special occasion. Somewhat pricey but the food matches up. True gastronomic delight. Try the filet mignon.
Pretty good food with hit or miss service. Sketchy service, sketchy tip, it s just that simple. Weak point is host/hostess stand. Salad bar is best there is.
Good place too dark nosebenda nomegustan the places ocuro parese qe oscultan something. Aibuen serbisio. And good food
I have been their steaks since the 80's, best mesquite grilled steaks and great prices
Steak was not up to par. Salad bar was varied and fresh.
I was shocked at how delicious this place was. When I walked in, I got the Golden Corral feel because I could see them grilling the steaks from the door, but I grossly misjudged. The 70s booths and tables were fun to sit in, I had a devine filet mignon and baked potato, and topped it off with the best dang Colorado Bulldog I've ever been served! The waiter was hard to find and to be assigned, and I felt like they wanted to close the place down at 830 instead of 10pm so service was spotty, but the ambiance and food quality would make me return. I didn't find out about the backroom till after I paid and got up to leave. It's a portal to the Mad Men 60s era in there with candlelit bowls on every table and booth, and a full bar complete with a fella wiping out bar glasses with a white towel. Will 100% be back to dine in that section and feel like a Don Draper dame next time I'm in Dallas!
Went there for lunch good special salad bar a little limited
Dinner with Dad after the doctor's appointment in Dallas
Just a great, old fashioned steak house. The price is insanely reasonable and they have a great salad bar.
I will warn you that it is "wood fired" which means it smells like a campfire in the establishment. I don't mind the smell but I know others may be more sensitive.
Highly recommend.
Had not eaten here before but will be back for sure! Only thing you can say is DELICIOUS! Will be back again and again.
Speaking was tough, it's loud, not good for meetings
This is the original. You need to get here and enjoy the food and the experience!
Good salad, sides and service. Prime Rib and T-Bone were tough, cold and tasteless.
It is absolutely amazing!!!!! Especially the Steak!!!!!!
The other location, is way better! Don't waste your time here!
I spent months trying to find the perfect steakhouse in Dallas for my brother's bachelor party. We wanted a place that could accommodate a large party, would let us do separate checks, had reasonable prices, and a great steak! I called multiple places... Kenny's couldn't fit our party, other places couldn't split checks, others were going to cost $50+ per steak. I saw some reviews for Dunston's, then saw their amazing menu (plus amazing prices) and decided to give them a call. The woman I spoke with was extremely nice, answered my questions about fitting our large party and splitting checks, and booked us immediately. First off, our server Dennis was AMAZING. He handled our larger party with ease, (even with still having other tables), he was simply amazing at his job. We were never without a drink, he had great recommendations and tips, menu knowledge, and we didn't wait to long for anything, ON A SATURDAY NIGHT. The place looked super nice on the inside, and the entire staff was very professional. I got a bone in 36oz Ribeye for $36, and that included a side and an unlimited salad bar. The quality of the steak is PHENOMENAL. I am not lying when I say that I will dine here every time I visit Dallas. Everything was perfect.
I sent my friends to this restaurant with my warmest recommendations. I visit this restaurant often. I get very good feedback from my friends. The meals are tasty and the stuff is very friendly and cooperative. Whenever we go to this place we have a gorgeous evening. highly recommended.
