Fantastic, student run restaurant. Highly recommend the lobster arbiattia and salmon. Great place on campus to grab dinner with family or friends.
Food is typical quality of restaurants of its class- depending on whether a student or a seasoned line cook cooks it, the food can be variable in its execution (generally always acceptable to very good). Short rib red wine/cranberry/whatever they decide on demiglace sometimes not reduced enough. Very very buttery starch and veg. Service ranges from very good to not so great but this is ok considering it is a learning experience for hotel students. Chef Tony and line cook staff are the best part of going to Banfis!
Food and service are generally pretty good. Pricing seems a bit much. Staff are very eager to please.
Pretty phenomenal experience and not as expensive as I had expected! It's by no means cheap, but the food, the service, and the experience overall are all worth it.
A beautiful place to have a beautiful meal with friends and family. I am so glad Taverna Banfi was my choice restaurant; delicious meal, quiet environment, amazing workers and i was surrounded by lovely people. The experience was great.
We were expecting something posher from this place, then again we opted for the lunch buffet so it might not be fair judgement.
Friendly staff but very quiet at 2pm on Monday. Maybe because it is still summer and school yet to be in session.
Solid food offerings with northern Italian influence. Good variety in the menu with several vegetarian options. The food is not particularly creative, opting for more traditional cuisine approaches, which are well executed. I had dinner and breakfast - the breakfast buffet was superb. Service could be improved. I get that these are students, but unobtrusive presence is very important for a restaurant striving for top quality. Our wait person was too intrusive, somewhat exasperated when we were not yet ready to order, and then never returned to inquire about wine with dinner after we had opted for prosecco for the appetizer. We tried several times to find someone to order wine but eventually gave up and made do with water. Perhaps a bit more training of the students prior to letting them loose on the floor would be good. Alternatively, warn patrons that the staff is training and then be sure to get feedback from every customer. How else are they learning?
The thought is there asfar as the menu goes, but the execution falters. The student staff tries very hard, but make small mistakes that may annoy. Pricey.
I was extremely entertained with their savory NY steak. The steak was cooked just perfectly. While outer surface was very crispy, inside of it was greatly tender and meaty. I've considered it was my real first time to enjoy NY steak properly. I was also fascinated by the taste of its fat portion. It's a memorable experience. Excellent!
There are only restaurants directly managed by Hotel Management at the prestigious Cornell University, and the taste and service are top notch. Mainly Mediterranean cuisine. Abundant wine selection. That is the price, but it is a recommended place to come with special guests. It may be difficult to find a place to park during the semester and on weekdays, but you may want to consult the Cornell University campus map.
Lunch buffet is excellent. Many choice of food. Good value of money
This place is just fantastic. The flavors on the lunch buffet are things you can only dream of. Its a bit pricy for a normal lunch meal, but it is exquisite. Devine. Highly recommended. Fresh ingredients, awesome desserts, just fantastic. I can't say enough good things (except I always eat TOO much when I go there. lol).
This is a restaurant in the hotel operated by Cornell University. New York Strip. Lobster Spaghetti. All of the field salads are calculated for 120,000 won including tax. The taste is relatively good, but the price is a little expensive. The bread is free. The dessert coffee is $ 7. Really delicious.Recommended
Really great, upscale food right on campus! It s also really cool that all the servers are students. Definitely try the Sunday brunch.
Really had high expectations for this restaurant since Cornell is known for their hospitality program (best in the world) and this restaurant falls within their student curriculum, etc.
I went for a buffet style dinner and rib eye was bloody which is fine, when I asked a server to cook it to medium for me he said no. Not like acceptable. Plus quality of all food was sub par for the premium Ritz Dinner Buffet cost, overall a disappointment.
The knowledge level here is off the charts. This place is filled with professors and their TAs. I came here with an empty stomach, and left feeling full of knowledge.
Delicious food & good service. I got the mushroom ravioli, which was delicious. The outside part of the ravioli was slightly undercooked. But other than that I had a good experience.
Student staffed and sometimes managed restaurant, the culinary staff is really excellent and they are great people. Head Chef Tony is definitely worth meeting, and is famous in the Hotel School. Many of the students who work there are interesting in entering the culinary world and some of the alums who have worked there now work at some of the greatest restaurants in the world, such as Eleven Madison Park (NYC).
An upscale restaurant in the Statler. Great selection and amazing entrees.
