I have 2 children at Starr's Mill Academy. Seriously, thank God for this place. My children love it there and the owners Ramelle and Glenn are fantastic people and care so much about the children in their school. This lady "Yaya's, her review is a total lie. My husband was there when she and her child were removed from the school. HER CHILD HAS INJURED NUMEROUS CHILDREN IN THE SCHOOL. They did not pull out and have been there for years. If they really hated the school why did it take them getting THROWN out to leave? Why didn't they leave on their own?
She is just a bitter nasty woman!!

We have our second child here for the pre k program. Both have loved it. Friendly staff and great teachers. Ms Kia and Ms Ashanti are great. Place always feel very clean. They take security very seriously and it feels very safe there. My daughter is always happy to go and when i pick her up she says her day has been great!

I am a mom with a child at Starr's Mill Academy. The review from Yaya Lesa that was recently posted is totally false. This is a great place to bring your children. I know for a fact she is just upset that her child was dis-enrolled for harming other children, because I witnessed her screaming at the owner in the lobby about her son being dis-enrolled. The parents of this classroom are fed up with her child scratching, biting and kicking our kids and her do nothing but reward him with a lollipop at the end of the day. Her child was even hitting the teachers. This preschool actually has 3 national curriculum and a waiting list for some classrooms. I know for a fact that my child doesn't sit there and watch TV all day because Starr's Mill Academy doesn't even have cable to get TV. They have several approved educational videos and sing a longs they show the kids to get them excited about learning or on rainy days. Starr's Mill Academy is an excellent school.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this pre-school!! Both of my children have attended this school for a little over a year now and they love it here! This school has it all. The teachers and staff are amazing! They are so loving and sweet with all of the kids and they really put effort into the lessons and activities. My children learn and retain something new everyday and they are excited about what they learn! My son is three now but his teacher, Ms.Hunt, worked so hard potty training him when he was two and it is thanks to her that he is potty trained! The school is super clean and always smells wonderful, like a clean, nice home . All of the classrooms have windows and are bright, lively and inviting. The school feels very safe and it is clear that they take security very seriously. I always feel like my children are safe when they are there and that is extremely important to both me and my husband. The owners are a sweet couple who live locally and it is so obvious how much they care about their school and their city. I cannot imagine putting my children anywhere else and I am so thankful my kids go to SMA and I am proud to tell others that is where they go!

The moment we stepped inside this place, we felt the love.

Our son has been here about two months and I wanted to give it a fair amount of time before writing a review. Our 22 month old son had difficulty at his previous school and is behind in talking. He would never nap and cried all day at his old school. We were not sure what to do since the school we were at was supposed to be the best and most expensive. We decided to try Starr's Mill Academy after some recommendations and the great tour. On day 1 of his new school, he gave Mr. Glenn a high five on the way out. He had never done that before and it was such a big milestone for him and us to see. Now after 2 months, he runs to get to his classroom each morning, he takes full naps, does great artwork, and has even been using the potty. We never dreamed this day would come and are so grateful to be here. Thank you Ms. Elena and Mrs. Caitlyn.

The difference is love, just like their motto says. Mrs. Ramelle, Mr. Glenn, Ms. Maeghan, the Teachers (heroes), and staff are all the best you could ask for. It really feels like family and the proof is in the pudding! Your kid will love it here and they will love your kid!

Starr's mill academy has been so far great for my little toddler, she enjoys going to school everyday. I can't speak for the previous negative review, but from my current experience I have no complaints, my little one is evolving well and learning each day, the program ranges from abc's, colors, shapes, music and songs, but also number and other stuff. Summer camp was also fantastic for both my kids ( my oldest who is in elementary school was enrolled as well). They definitely don't sit kids in front of televisions, since I surprise dropped several times and never saw that. I did have a little incident were my kids arm was lightly bruised, but when I picked her up I received an explanation about it, the teacher was on top of it. The owner's Glenn and Ramelle have been really good to us, they genuinely care about kids, but also their staff. I advise anyone to go visit before making a decision based on a parent negative review. And yes I am a real parent, and will be more than glad to meet new parents if they have questions. It took me a while to find this place and I didn't hesitate to ask parents around before enrolling my child there. I have been there and understands the fear we have as a parent to make sure our children's are in good hands.

Dear Parents If I could put zero in rating I will do it If you are planning to enroll your kid in this place, please be aware and based on experience that Starr s Mill Academy it may seem very nice place and very nice management. I though the same thing but quick I found out that they have zero interest in the well-being and safety of your child. They only care about money and how much they will do with getting more kids trap in there. They have a HIGH turnover and this is definitely is not healthy for the kids. When you pick up your kid they are full of buggers and no clean. They brag that kids have so many activities and sadly find out that most of the time they are watching TV, they abuse the use of TV and very rarely take the kids to play outside. My kid was so many times hurt, bitten because teachers don't properly care of these or even put attention to them, my kid was not treated equally and so many times he was discriminated. Please you are now on time to take the decision to skip this facility as option to take care of your baby/ kid.

Att. A hurt kid and parents.

From the second I stepped into the school for a tour, every single employee at this facility has been exceptional to me and my son.
My 3 yr old was not handling starting daycare very well and really needed extra attention and love - especially in the mornings. The first school I had him in had "teachers" that told me they couldn't deal because he would cry and go through separation anxiety when i dropped him off.
Not at Starrs Mill. They had no problem setting him up in a younger class to get used to his environment (not to mention help with potty-training). Ms. Hunt was nothing but EXCEPTIONAL to my son. She would welcome him crying in the morning with open arms and affection. He eventually started getting excited to go to school and would be excited to see her in the morning and made a bunch of friends in his class. Now he has graduated to his next class and he still loves going to school. All of the girls there know him and shower him with love and kindness. I have zero concerns when I drop him off - I feel like they are (very qualified) friends teaching my child. He comes home with artwork and a report card every day (with details of naps/eating/activities). They also provide nutritious (yet kid friendly) meals and snacks off a Bistro Menu daily.
I will have a new-born that is going to be going to Starrs Mill next year and it eases my mind knowing what great staff work at this school. There are some faces that I don't have names to put to, but Ms. Katie, Ms. Hunt, Miss Caitlyn, Miss Lisa, Miss Macy, Miss Megan, Miss Carly, Ms. Lauren and Ms. Ramelle are all wonderful caregivers/people.
My son is a happier, more well-behaved kid being enrolled in this school.
I can't recommend this place enough!
