The place were nice and food were fantastic!! And the staff were friendly!!

Always visit when "Hey Bulldog" plays here. The lobster and shrimp Mac and Cheese is a fantastic addition to the menu. Also adore the Beet and Goat Cheese salad. Excellent, friendly staff.

Amazing experience. Was introduced by a friend and I'm so glad we visited. Came in a group of 4 in the evening and the night went darker as we ate. Outdoor seating was beautiful. Our server Amanda was super attentive and yet doesn't hover all over the entire time, just perfect! The fish and chips I had was really good. Fish not too overly seasoned, just enough to let its natural taste shine through. The French fries are one of the best I've ever had. Definitely drop by if you're in the region.

I'm pleasantly surprised with my experience here. Usually, places aren't that crowded on Friday's compared to Saturday's, but this place was PACKED! Inside and outside! As a first timer, I had an awesome time and look forward to going back! There was a diverse crowd and you could tell the DJ sensed that as he played ALL kinds of music... 70's, 80's, 90's, rock, rap, top 40's, latin, pop. Their drinks could use some work. If the bartenders were a little friendlier, I would def rate it a 5!

Came for the party but what I didn't expect was to find some fun people! The owner JR made sure we were welcome and taken care of. Service was quick even though there was a massive crowd. The music was lit and the scene was very inclusive of everyone. 11/10 would highly recommend and 100% coming back for lunch sometime!

Food is delicious with large portions. Drinks are alright. Outdoor space is relaxing and bands are good too.

Atmosphere is fantastic, food always on point and they are especially doing a great job with Covid seating and making sure people are wearing masks when not seated.

Me and my boyfriend eat here all the time but the last 3 times have been terrible. Tonight we were told the there was a 45 min wait and the bar was at max capacity. While waiting we noticed people that came after us being escorted to the bar. I brought it to the hostess attention and she said that is a separate list. I told her we just wanted to be seated even if it was at the bar. After she kept escorting people to the bar that came after us I asked to speak to a manager. The manager Victoe was very rude and told us if we didn't want to wait then we could leave. My boyfriend pointed out that was not proper customer service and he told us they didn't have any table for us and asked us to leave after we waited over half an hour. My family and friends love this place, it's a real shame that you just lost so many customers over poor customer service. I am truly appalled by the way we were just treated.

Great food. Fun atmosphere. The homemade ravioli and fresh beef is top notch. They have a very big bar area and a nice sized outdoors with live music. Its a great spot to also get lunch if you don t want to deal with crowds.

Went here for brunch New Years Day. They had an omelet station, waffle station, a huge table with pastries, then hot options such as fried chicken, pasta, potatoes, etc. The varieties pretty good and the food quality was above average. It is a cute restaurant and has some character and charm to it. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. I would go back here for brunch buffet.

I'm going to give this restaurant a five, outside seating was tastefully arranged. Teriyaki chicken was fantastic! Definitely a romantic place for a date.

Great food and great back area to hang out in the summer!

I have been here several times, but most recently I enjoyed their brunch. Despite accommodating several special events on this particular Sunday, i was still able to be quickly seated with my party of 5. All of my group enjoyed the food selection for brunch and the lines for food were managed quite well. Service was not the best I have ever had here, but no glaring complaints.

I had an AMAZING dinner here! I had the Crab Cakes with asparagus and mashed potatoes and some great drink. My friend had the bourbon bacon wrapped pork loin with finger ling potatoes and Brussels sprouts. No other word can describe it then it was AMAZING! THE SERVICE WAS GREAT AS WELL

Great atmosphere, music, staff, and menu. Nice place to go on Saturday night.

Update:1/2019: Bar offers good options. Filet is exceptional. Bartenders provide attention without being overbearing. "Regulars" are friendly to newcomers...

Nice historical place. Lots of parking, dinning inside and out. The items I had were delicious, and I recommend them both. They have a nice variety of foods, several of their pasta dishes are made in house. I will definitely visit again.

Food was excellent start to finish, unique and different flavors in their dishes, service was very good and we had 1 server for about 20 people so with that in mind he did very good. Not cheap but not pricey, good sized portions, def worth a try... menu was huge too plenty of choices.... fun band after dinner as well

It's an ok place to eat or just sit at the sports bar. Good range of home made pasta available. There is something for everyone on the menu.
If not then there is also a sports bar available too.

Got the Bourbon burger with fries, crab dip appetizer and the prosciutto and arugula pizza. Everything was delicious and held up well on the trip. Crab dip was very good, burger was cooked to order ( big plus!) And the pizza was thin crusted and delicious. Will definitely be ordering from here again. Great outdoor area as well if you're brave enough to venture out!

I usually only come here for happy hour but came here for dinner the other night. The waitress was new but was super nice and on top of it!
I ordered the spinach and mushroom raviolis which were amazing! I ve been here for brunch as well and there is such a great buffet selection.

Came to to celebrate my son's last day of proton radiation at nearby Procure. this restaurant was suggested by Sal who works at Procure. It was a really good recommendation! Everyone really enjoyed their food. We had homemade ravioli, pulled pork sandwiches, and baby back ribs. We were so full we couldn't even order dessert. It was a dreary rainy day and I bet on a sunny day it's a nice to eat out on their patio.

Always a great experience & great food. The ambience is great. Just be wary because waits can be long, but believe me that it's well worth it!

One of the best hamburgers I've ever had! Nice atmosphere and friendly service.

I went here yesterday and ordered a steak wanted it medium and it came well done. The waiter said they can do it over and it came back again well done. So at that point I figured the chef just can't cook steak but now I'm feeling like it was more so to hide tainted meat because I spent the night vomiting the whole meal out. Needless to say it was my first and last time going to this restaurant. And I just read another review where someone's child vomited after eating here also. Something shady going on in that kitchen.

Food and service has definitely gone down hill. I ordered their pork special and it was dry. My in laws ordered the turkey club and the sandwich wasn't cut the correct way for them to eat it. Matter of fact when my father in law asked the server to take it back and have it cut, he turned his back and walked away. Very rude.. we did address this with our waitress but the manager did not come over to apologize or anything. Not sure my in laws will ever go there again.

Went out with a group of girlfriends on a Friday night around 8pm and had a great time. The atmosphere is fun, casual and busy. The food and drinks were good and the atmosphere is great. There is a large outdoor seating area with lights and lots of space. DJ started playing music around 10pm.

I enjoyed the crab stuffed flounder. it was delicious. Prices were reasonable for drinks and food.

I honestly can't say enough about this place. Although I'm born and raised in Somerset, I had never really frequented this place until about a year ago. But at the recommendation of several friends, I started to patronize the business. After growing to love the ambiance I decided to host a large private family event there.

AND I HAVE TO TELL YOU the staff was BEYOND accommodating from beginning to end. The event coordinator was straightforward, super helpful and always available. The day of the event, we were provided the best staff ever... EVER! They helped with my overly complicated decorations, my tedious requests and the 90+ degree heat. (Did I mention my event was on their massive outdoor patio?)

Once the guests arrived the waitstaff made sure every single person was cared for and had my back at every turn. They went above and beyond to help facilitate the activities, they gave me on-the-spot recommendations for what we should do next, they moved whenever I needed anything done... and did I mention how GENUINELY pleasant they were?!

(We've all had a restaurant experience where the waitstaff makes it clear that they hate their job. Stage House...?! The TOTAL opposite! They actually made the day more fun for me and the guests!)

I honestly couldn't have made a better decision for such a special day.

I had an excellent experience here. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had two people in wheelchairs in our party, and the staff was helpful and considerate in finding accommodations. The food was great and so was the service. Everyone in our group really enjoyed their meal!

Pub style setting but large eating areas. Bar area plus patio, weather permitting. Main dining is colonial style w wood paneling, spindle back chairs and wide board floors. Inclosed porch has numerous booths. Large well lit parking w a bit of a walk to get to the main door. Prices are reasonable and food selection is traditional American.

Nice spacious. ambiance is good. Starter are really great. Main course is just ok... overall good experience.

The burgers are really good, and the Sunday buffet is really good and reasonable price as well.

Great place absolutely delicious food and desserts as well as the bar drinks the staff is very excellent and professional this is a great place for any catering event or just to go out to dinner or lunch highly recommended fivestars plus.

Went to stage house to celebrate my birthday during covid. Love this place pre covid. While with two tables was told by a manager I need to wear mask if I'm standing not in the most polite way. Then my friend stands up with mask on and confronted by an aggressive rude bouncer who demanded he sit down. Would not recommend. This place can't make up their mind on rules. Should be more respectful to the people keeping them in business during these times.

For the most part everything was good: friendly staff, prompt service, and good food. I thought the prices were a little high but perhaps it's due to covid and reduced seating. I'd go back!

Service was great our waitress was Sienna. Food and drinks were delicious. We sat outside and it was great ambiance.

Fun local spot with copious outdoor seating and casual atmosphere. Humidity kept me indoors this evening but the crowd was energetic and the vibe relaxed so I didn't miss it. There was a great selection of top shelf whisky/whiskey not found in every bar and the pour, as witnessed in the pic, was more than generous. Was not disappointed in the lamb shank, either! The previously mentioned lively vibe was welcome but also the only reason I don't rate 5 stars - it was almost unbearably loud inside. If coming for a racous evening of banter with friends, great - but don't expect to be able to hold a quiet conversation.

Really good food. Burger cooked just as ordered. This place is HUGE, but very well kept. Clean (bathrooms too!). Great place to eat outside and listen to live music!

First dinner out in months. Stage House Tavern was excellent. Lamb shank special was fall off the bone and succulent. Our Manhattans were well prepared. Our server Paul was friendly and professional. Mgmt person checked in with us. While chatting with him we learned how much effort Stage House Tavern has put into giving back to the community during Covid-19 and how they ensured their staff were safe and secure. Bravo!

Had a great Greek salad with salmon. Very tasty. Fast friendly service and plenty of outdoor seating and virtual menus to help slow the spread of COVID19.

We have been going to stage House Tavern in Somerset for years. it's a great place to bring friends because there is always something for everyone. I have friends who are vegetarians, vegans, meat lovers, and everything in between. Everyone leaves happy with their choices and completely satisfied.
Currently, Monday is prime rib night. Their preparation of the meat is absolutely perfect, and it's as tender as could be. The sour cream horseradish sauce gives the meat just the right pop! Even their fresh vegetables are prepared so that they retain their freshness.
I've eaten their burgers, filet mignon, chicken dishes, chili, chicken wings, and I could go on and on. Everything has always been delicious.

Great food. Had the pappardel w/meat sauce. It was delicious, perhaps pasta was a little al dente.

With every visit, the experience gets worse. The hype seems to be because it's the only bar in this part of town, but the location doesn't cut it for me anymore (I live within walking distance). Today was my last time giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Not sure what happened but I was violently ill when I left the restaurant. Everything tasted good so not sure why I got sick. Hopefully no one else got sick.

Amazing food! Great atmosphere, great service! They have bands that come out and play. Met the owner of the place Jr. He is an amazing guy, doing an amazing job! I will definitely be back, I have my birthday on the 12th of December and my mom on the 9th we were looking for a place to go to, and I found it!

The service was slow. Our table seemed to be split but instead of being checked on by two servers, we were almost not checked on at all. The food was decent. My mom loved the mushroom swiss burger. I tried the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. The chicken was cooked very nicely but it was big chunks that made the sandwich impossible to eat as a sandwich and it wasn't spicy, which I found odd since it's supposed to be Nashville Hot. We tried a waffle and it was really good. The rest of my party had sandwiches as well that they said were ok. The portions were good. We were all satisfied but not stuffed. I did think the sandwiches were a little over priced. They were all over $15 if I remember correctly. Overall, it was fine and I would probably try it again but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Such a great place. I live closer to the Scotch Plains and Mountainside locations and this was the first time here. Loved the huge outside dining deck with the 2 bars and a spot for live music. The inside was just as large! Menu is basically the same as their other locations so it made it easy for us Looking forward to coming back, especially in the nice weather!

Dined outside for my Birthday. Very nice seating area and the food was pretty good. The artichoke spinach dip was made with a lot of cream cream cheese which took away some of the flavor of the artichokes and spinach. I had the crab stuffed flounder which was delicious. Also had 2 of the tres agave margaritas which had a decent amount of alcohol. Definitely recommended and will be back.

Stage House never disappoints! The food is always great, the drinks are also always on point. It's just a nice laid back atmosphere with good service and chemistry.

Upon arriving the hostess was friendly but there was a 45-minute wait to eat outside at a tables they had other options like a wooden bench set that you can sit at or by the bar area where you go and order your food at the window at the bar you have to download the menu on to your phone. And this was my first time there and needless to say I would not be going back the only thing that was good where the two drinks that we had ordered the bartender was very friendly and the food was horrible I was up all night long throwing up I had the crab dip and the chips and nachos the nachos were very dry and they had no meat on them. As I was getting ready to leave I stood up and walked towards the door and I want to go put my mask on and this waitress just yelled at me to please put your mask on and everybody was outside eating with no mask I was by the bar area in the back outside. The waiters and the waitresses are very rude and snotty my answer is if you don't want to work then don't work there...

Convenient restaurant for all occasions for work and family. We always enjoy the food, wide selection of food and friendly service. Ample parking for holiday parties. We will be visiting this restaurant again soon.

The place is always packed! The soft shell crab sandwich is out of this world delicious! The hour wait was worth every bite!

Security named Quick was very rude and unprofessional, there is no reason to be rude to your potential patrons, communication skills are very important in all business. Please do not go there if tou want to be judged.

Great find. We ate outdoors on a nice end of summer day. it was a football Sunday and lots of people were dressed in their favorite jerseys. the staff is young, the menu is extensive and the food is good.

Attentive not pushy staff. Regular and gluten fee menu appecciated as a member of our dinner party has celiac disease and enjoyed the meal... just because a menu items says gluten free ingredients does not assure preparation is safe. She totally enjoyed the meat loaf!

Had my first date there a few weeks ago. The atmosphere was refreshing. We sat ourdoors. We had music, open bar with great t.v.s available to us. The waitress, food and scenery made it a great combo for the day whining into the evening. Definitely will revisit!

Overall good food and service. Not exactly how Google Maps will guide you since the entrance and parking lot are recessed in. A little too dark inside even during the day.

Huge place! Stopped for a quick bite on a Saturday night...not terribly busy but active. We sat in the bar area and it was quite loud. Food was delicious except for the fries, which were warm at best. We re not from around there but would stop by again if in the area.

We got to the door they pulled me an my friend aside asked if we were drinking I do not drink my friend they said looked intoxicated and said they would not serve us very disappointed

Great food, great atmosphere, service was as good as they can get with Covid-19 rules in place. They have always maintained excellent food with their menu and continue to do so. They are a bit slow at times especially before Covid when at full capacity but still a good solid place for going out.

I belong to a support group and this is actually where we hold our meetings. The staff is always friendly and they provide us with a private room for privacy. There is a pre-set menu and I usually get the burger or the pulled pork sandwich. The food is good and not over seasoned which is important to me especially when it comes to salt. Love coming here and love the atmosphere.

Been here several times now, it's our go to place some the menu is so large and varied. There is truly something for every one. Small but good craft beer list. Well worth a visit. Lots of specials and events during the week as well.

Went for an early dinner with a party of 8 and a baby. The waitress took our order and she was never to be seen again until the bill came. They never cleared off the appetizers we had so we had to make room ourselves for our dinner plates. When the food did come 6 of us had our food while the other 2 people at our table waited for a good 10 minutes for their food to come. We had to go up to the bar to get refills on our drinks and when the bartender asked if we had a tab we said no we are sitting at a table and our waitress is no where to be seen. I thought after saying that he would have told management. We were wrong. Then the bill got delivered, and we then realized why she couldn t be bothered with doing her job. Gratuity was included, so why work harder and get a better tip when you can be out back smoking your cigarettes. I wrote management an email as soon as we left and I still have not heard from them. We will never return to this particular Stage House. It was our go to summer place but after how we were treated it s a no for us.

Great stop on a cold rainy night while on business travel in Somerset. Friendly and inviting staff. Solid food and drinks. Loved the special pricing and selection for happy hour.

I wish I could give this place less than 1 star, for starters. Talk about a nightmare scenario in the midst of COVID-19! I do not know why on earth people rave about this place. Probably because it's considered "cool" for a night out of drinking in this rural area of NJ with not much to do otherwise. God people are desperate; especially the ones who gravitate to this overrated bar. Anyways, as a healthcare worker on the frontlines, I decided to grab food and drinks with my mom after a beach trip one day (since outdoor dining in NJ is now permitted). However, last i checked Murphy authorized outdoor dining to resume SAFELY, with strict social distancing measures implemented to help slow the spread. Yea ok. Not here! So, you guys operate by having customers stand in line waiting for drinks? I stood there in line, mask on of course, however the guy in front of me and back lacked this basic and considerate protection themselves. Then, i place my order after standing there for 30 minutes, paying an absurdly high price, and read over the sign that said "bar food available here." Where? Menus?? Waitors?? None in sight my friends!! So basically, have people get drunk in the hot sun (outdoor tables had no umbrellas), do not provide/offer water&food, all the while possibly circulating amongst a deadly virus. Bc yes, strong possibility of that at this joint folks. I would never come back here nor give you my business ever again, and i'll continually spread the word of what has been going on here. Shame on you! Honestly people, just keep staying home. Do your takeout thing at home with to-go food& drinks...much safer and more importantly to some, you'll save your money during our current economic recession.
