I have not stayed here but I often use the foyer area for drinks. Really great space, beautiful. Quick friendly service. Often live music playing. Good drink selection and great afternoon tea. It is not cheap certainly but not too overpriced but for a drink in an amazing setting it is definitely worth it. I would recommend a visit.

We couldn't of been more excited to stay here for ...

We couldn't of been more excited to stay here for the first leg of our honeymoon trip. A cool historic building in the center of town to celebrate our wedding. What could be better?

We arrived on a red eye immediately after our wedding at 11AM, we had setup an early check in ahead of time for 11. We were told they were still preparing our room and it should be ready shortly. Being a little under dressed (t-shirt and shorts) and unable to change we opted out of waiting in the lobby. We cheerfully set our to explore the area and get some lunch while we waited, returning around 1PM. Unfortunately the room was still not ready. Exhausted from the travel, we ended up having to awkwardly wait around the lobby til 3pm and were made to feel very uncomfortable for being under dressed. Other guests were checked in while we waited, but I wasn't upset since I thought they might be waiting for an upgraded room for us since it was our honeymoon and I have status with Marriott (Gold).

Nope! Our room was the bare minimum.

Oh well, we caught up on sleep and made it a point to always come and go in a minimum of business casual since we felt so uncomfortable upon arrival. We still stood out a bit by being much younger than other patrons (mid 20s), but we otherwise blended in. Coming in each evening we were cheerfully greeted with welcomes like, "Sir, are you staying here this evening?", "Can we point you in the direction of the train station?", or my personal favorite after another couple walked in without a remark just before us, "We need to see your room key before you can come in".

This is my 3rd time in London and I have never experienced anything similar at other hotels. My advice to anyone who looks young is to look elsewhere. The place across the street has a better view, the same location, and is likely cheaper.

Only dinner and drinks. Food was amazing, priced well and the location and ambiance were first - rate. The service was friendly, prompt but not intrusive - exactly how it should be. This was my first visit (even tho have been traveling via St Pancras for over 17 years) but was very impressed and will be back!

Stayed at the hotel twice on our way to and from Paris. Both times we found the hotel lobby was full of people coming in to the hotel to use the free wifi, while we, the guests of the hotel, had to pay dearly for the use of the internet in our room. The lobby has the appearance of a busy bus terminal with people with backpacks and cellphones occupying all the available sofas and seats, to access the internet. This is extremely unfair to us, the paying guests.

One of the best in London! Staff are all very friendly and willing to help. We wanted to see the grand stairs and Jegor was very kind to give us a tour and showed us everything in the hotel, from the First Ladies smoking room, conference room with the wonderful ceilings, to swimming pool and gym! He s very patient, explaining everything in details to us. Would definitely come back again!

An amazing hotel with a stunning interior. The staff were eager to help in any way they can and very very friendly.

Our room, however, wasnt that special. It wasnt much different than a travel lodge really and certainly not befitting of the price for a 1 night stay.

Matthew and his team go the extra mile to make each stay so special. Wonderful. I ve been coming here since 2012. Each time I have enjoyed staying in this iconic hotel. Great transport links, close enough to theatres but not the usual tourist attractions keeps this place a haven of relaxation. Right next door to the British Library, where I am a member. Walking distance to the British Museum. Wonderful Gilbert Scott restaurant and bar, both of which have been stunningly restored with a mix of Victorian and modern decor. For less formal dining, The Booking Ofgice is a wonderful venue. Great shopping down in the station and across the road is the new Coal Drops Yard. Why go anywhere else?

I was OVERCHARGED $9000 for my one week stay at this hotel. I contacted the hotel multiple times concerning the issue. They answered ONCE saying they had contacted the credit card company to have it refunded. However the credit card company says they were never contacted. Now over two weeks after the incorrect charges were made the money has still not been refunded and the hotel is not responding back to my emails. Very disappointed in the lack of care or communication!

One of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. This hotel is truly amazing, beautiful, and full of personality. We were staying in the Grand Starcase Suite, and that by itself is absolutely Amazing. A grand spiral staircase that works it's way up from the "bedroom", up to the living room, and then up to a reading area. A giant tub and shower add to the already very nice dual vanity sink area, the towel warmers (3 of them...) work very well. The lounge is an great experience on its own, great options at breakfast, "tea time", and a very nice canape service. Finally, the staff. They are my new benchmark for impeccable service. Alex and Viktoria at the front desk, Mayra and Angelique in the lounge, the Navigators are extremely helpful.

Only went for a quick drink before seeing a show in the lobby area but it's really open with hotel guests as well as members of the public wandering around, there must have been a rehersal for something in the adjoining room with a live More

Beautiful hotel. Nice beds and comfortable rooms. Staying for work, conveniently located close to the Tube and easy to get around. Also obviously close to the train. One thing to note - I am 6' 4' and I would not recommend this hotel for people over 6' 6". I barely fit in the elevator!

This was an old part of the railway station, so has high ceilings and Renaissance architecture. There are business facilities such as meeting room hire, a typical London bar, and a lot of rooms. The atmosphere is posh, old fashioned (Renaissance) and professional, which may suit you just fine, but I rate it at 3* for my own tastes because I prefer friendly welcoming places, and this hotel seems somewhat cold, socially. Good for business accommodation and people that appreciate a professional but distant response from the staff, I would say. This review is based on one visit, so it is possible a more frequent visitor may contribute a contrary view. I recommend reading more reviews just in case!
