My family enjoyed a great afternoon at the facility. One of two issues was at the confusion of what the lines are as one Immediately enters the lobby. Clarification is definitely needed to decifer parking ticket issues vs. special theater lines. The secondary issue was in lieu of the extended wait to use the main elevator. The smaller elevator was also out-of- commission. Technically either of those issues could quickly elevate into safety issues. This place is an asset to the city's adventures.

This is a pretty great science center overall. The kids I've brought here always enjoy it. The problem is that every time I do go it seems like half the exhibits are in disrepair. Broken buttons, busted screens, and just general shabby upkeep. It is sort of sad really. Perhaps it has something to do with the free entry? The cities other museums and attractions always seem great however, not sure why the science center is neglected.

Great free science museum, a gem for St. Louis, along with the Zoo and other museums.
Yes, you have to pay for special exhibits and shows, and the parking can cost money but it can also be free if you find a place to park in Forrest Park on the Planetarium side.
And there's still SO much for adults and children to see and explore without spending a dime.
Membership is a great value too. Even if you only visit once, it can still save you money with free parking, and tickets to the Discovery Room (best for younger children and toddlers), Omnimax, and Planetarium shows. AND it'll reciprocate at other science museums across the country. I've used mine at the Field Museum and Science & Industry in Chicago, and those are between $20-30 a person just to get in, but me and three others were free!
I'm also planning on using it later this yeast ag the Pacific Science Center when I go to Seattle.

The facilities were nice but it just doesn't seem to have many exhibits compared to other similar museums/centers that we have visited. Most of the people who were working there during our visit were very helpful and friendly. It is free, although you pay $10.00 for parking, so . There were a number of exhibits that you can pay to see but we were trying to do everything on a tight budget and aren't actually sure how much of a difference that would make for the experience.

Was an extremely cool place! I loved all the interactive games and puzzles for you to do while going throughout the different types of sciences! My grandma and I had a wonderful time looking at all the attractions!

This is such a fun day. So many great things to do to keep young and old busy for hours.
We loved the Imax theater and can't wait to go back. Although, we did feel like we were watching a tennis match.

The window walk over the highway is fun too. Lots and lots to do in this neighborhood.

My favorite place to take the kids! I love that it is free! Parking is $10 though. I remember coming here as a kid on field trips. There is a lot to do and see. There is the Omnimax which you can pay to see an educational movie. It always nice. There are also extra things you can see an an extra cost. Across the street in the Planetarium has ride you can go on, also at a extra cost. They aren't big huge ride but they are pretty cool. There is a bridge where you can walk across to get to the Planetarium. We go at least twice a year.

This is a great place for kids who don't mind standing around in reading. Unfortunately most kids these days like more interactive exhibits and this science center lacks in that area. They do have a new agriculture section outdoors which is pretty neat but that's about all I would recommend

It is a free museum so there are various things you can pay for inside! This is totally a place to bring kids to which is actually why a docked a star because it was very loud. But overall, if we had a younger kid with us, it would have been more fun!

Had a fabulous time! Went for the Pomeii exhibit and was very impressed. The artifacts on display were wonderful. The phases of the exhibit really do well to give feeling to the destruction from Vesuvius. So glad we made it. Highly recommend it. We got the guided tour speakers but they really are not needed. They proved to be more of a distraction while trying to read.

Have always enjoyed visiting the St. Louis Science Center! The Pompeii exhibit was fantastic. Toddler was intimidated by the dinosaurs when you walk in, but soon forgot and had a blast with all the other experiences.

The St. Louis Science Center is one of the only free non-profit science museums in America and they do an excellent job of rotating in new exhibits, movies, and activities. My favorite thing to do is to see an educational Imax movie in the Omnimax Theater because it is projected on a dome ceiling that fully surrounds your vision. My second favorite thing is to go to the planetarium, lay on a mat, and relax while learning about the solar system.

Amazing place with lots of activities for kids. It's also interesting for adults without kids to walk around. Adults will especially like the IMAX films and the planetarium, though there are also some great planetarium shows for kids. The newer outdoor area is really interesting for adults and older kids and has a water play area for kids.

This is a great place for kids and adult science geeks alike. Entry is free and so is parking if you park at the Planetarium. My preschoolers favorites were the VR experience ride (costs extra), the games exhibit, designing his own wind turbine, and learning about power distribution. There were plenty we didn't get to, so we'll have to go back!

There is always something new to explore and learn about. Their exhibits are world class! Every time we go we find something new, and have the fun activities we love there to greet us. This last visit was just my husband and I, as the kid was at school. We enjoyed the fascinating Pompeii exhibit, so much to learn and see!

Absolutely love the Science Center. Fun for every age, very educational, and the staff is always pleasant and helpful. Memberships are a great way to save money. Free tickets to multiple attractions every time you visit and many discounts. Nothing bad to say about the Science Center!

I went to a davinci exhibit and I absolutely adored learning about his life from the recreation of his inventions and paintings. I especially like the golden ratio video at the end and the huge recreation of the last supper wasn't that bad either.

This place is great, but definitely geared for a younger group of kids. My 12 and 15 year old were too old for this, but they still had fun. There is lots to do and the gaming center is a lot of fun. If you have younger children this is a must see!

I've been coming here since I was a kid and now my kid loves it too! And it's free so I don't feel pressured to do everything in one visit, we can come back and do a different section each trip.

We paid the $10 for parking which was nice. For a free museum, we were so impressed with this place! We had kids ranging from 2 to 13 and everyone loved it. The food is expensive which is to be expected, but we drove 4 hours to check it put and we were not disappointed. We plan to go agains when the weather is better.

This is very much a "science center" and not a kids "discovery center". The difference between the 2 is kids get scolded less at a discovery center. My kids needed to get some wiggles out and apparently this was not the place to do it. They got told to "get down" and "slow down" a few times. So, if you kids are good at just walking and not climbing on anything, you'll have a blast.

This is a place that I first went to as a kid, and now, as a dad, I got to take my own son here. There's lots to do, lots to see, and lots to fascinate the mind of any child. It's a great learning center for older kids, and also a great place to take younger kids. My two year old absolutely loved it, as I did, and as I think most kids will.

Great place to take the family. Lots to do with the kids. And its free!!
There are parts you have to pay to do, and there's lots of food to try. But there are lots of people there and not a quiet place.

This place was amazing! Perfect place to get kids excited about Science and Technology but also plenty of things for an adult to do.
The Planetarium was incredible, and they have a makers section and even a guitar exhibit.
I am 100% going back for sure!

This was a very interesting, hands on museum. It is free entry and has it's own parking lot (with a fee). The kids could have spent 2 days here they explored everything. The sky bridge over the highway was a favorite as well as some live science experiments. We will have to go back to explore more!

Free attraction that provides science fun for all ages. Don't forget to go to the Planetarium where there is a lot of cool space memorabilia. You can also park for free over there and walk across the bridge to the main science center.

Along with the St. Louis Zoo, this is on my list of the best attractions for you and your family What I love about the science center is no matter the weather you can always have a great time here because of everything being indoors. 90% of everything here is free. There are a few exhibits and experiences that cost extra, but I think they are well worth the price.

A word of advice, if you want to find decent parking try the lot right next to the planetarium which is on the other side of the freeway.

This is still a good place to take your kids. Tje only problem that we had was the "Stations" were not adequately supplied. Missing parts, broken pieces were common. Often no one around to tell.
The best part was programming the "Rover", but even that had issues, with the touch screen not activating where your finger was touching.

Lines to park are annoying. Every is trying to cut off everyone and the high school also had event so the lot was really crowded. But the center itself is pretty cool. The kids had fun. Flight simulator was their favorite part.
