My company had agreed with the hotel manager to pay my stay on invoice, the front desk asked for my credit card for any incidental charges, then proceeded to run my whole stay on the card 16 times without my consent, which got my card next-level blocked, the kind for which you have to fly to the nearest branch (which was in my home country in europe) to get it unblocked. And boulder is not an easy town to stay in when your card is blocked, so many cashless places!
Other than that, the rooms, spa, bar, and restaurants were lovely, just those irresponsible front desk people!

Be careful if you are using the bar at the St Juli...

Be careful if you are using the bar at the St Julien and also be wary of the staff. I have been conned twice as described below:

I was in the lobby a few weeks ago celebrating a friends birthday. There was a big crowd of us so we all got separate bills. My wife and I had a couple of drinks that came to $22. I gave the server $40 and made the mistake of not asking for change. I also DIDN'T say keep the change. I stood for at least 15 minutes waiting for the change and the server was no where to be seen. I asked another server and she said she hadn't seen ours. The server had "assumed" I was leaving an 80% tip. I left disgusted at how brazenly greedy she had been.

This past weekend I went to an autism fundraiser, a wine tasting at the St Julien. It's an event I attend every year. Superior Liquor are the flagship sponsor and donate wine for the wine tasting. You pay a ticket to get in ($150) and then sample lots of wine as part of the ticket price. The event closes the wine tasting at a certain point and then transitions to a live auction. Any wine that is left is given to the St Julien to serve to the fundraiser guests at no charge. When I went to get a glass of wine the server at the fundraiser charged me $10 for wine that had been donated for the event. When I protested she insisted I pay. They were charging for wine donated for free.

The moral is be very clear with the staff on what you expect. If not they will take your money and smile. Its Boulder and this is a swanky hotel and they think everyone is loaded and can milk them for their cash.

Both incidents leave a very poor taste and I won;t be back anytime soon.

Stopped in to have a drink & check the place out. Very kind, knowlegable staff that made me feel welcomed.

They had valet service outside. The building inside & outside was clean & quite beautiful especially with yellow Spring flowers just outside in a large planter.

This hotel is amazing. Located perfectly in Boulder. Walking distance to just about anything. The professionalism and courtesy of the staff was top notch. Jack, who checked us in was a huge help and willing to answer any questions we had. It was our anniversary, we were greeted with chocolates and a card from the staff. Room was spacious and very clean. Cocktails in the lounge before dinner were great, live music and the fireplace filled out the room. Would recommend to anyone. Will definitely be back!

Five star accommodation with a matching staff. Was there for a wedding and the place from first greeting to last was nothing short of Awesomeness!!! I've stayed at some of the finest hotels in the world and this ranks up there with them. The views from the mountain view rooms is nothing short of spectacular. In room amenities were plentiful. If you needed anything, it was a phone call away. The staff was spectacular and did everything with a smile. Be warned, however, this hotel IS PRICEY, but if you are looking for the finest in Boulder, look no further. HIGHLY recommend a mountain view room with balcony...can't beat it. I also ate downstairs at Jill's restaurant. The prices weren't unreasonable and the food was A+. The downstairs lobby is well appointed with plenty of seating

WOW what a wonderful experience! By far this is the absolute greatest service I've ever received. I would like to thank Martha for making our night so special!! I will definitely be back, the food is as beautiful as it is delicious. My boyfriend got the salmon [not pictured] and I got the Rigatoni Bolognese and we were both very happy with our selection. The atmosphere was such good energy and very elegant. Thank you again for the wonderful service!!

The property, the location, and the rooms were wonderful. The staff was extremely friendly and kind, from the front desk, to the housekeeping crew, and managers. The restaurant was very flexible (appreciate this!) when work hours landed me in my room pretty late and they were about to close. Great place + great experience. Would love to return with my family on vacation. <3

I had a fantastic facial at the spa with Rachel. We were not staying at the hotel, but got a discount on the valet parking since we were spa customers. Great amenities: steam room, dry sauna, showers, and access to the hotel pool, hot tub, and fitness center. We had to evacuate the spa when the fire alarm went off (false alarm) but they were so helpful and gracious.

In town for the Dead shows at Folsom over the 4th of July weekend. St. Julien is all its hyped up to be. Awesome hotel. Great staff, very attentive. Rented the King w/ balcony over looking the flatirons for 6 days and 5 nights. Room was perfect. Great views, very comfortable bed. Awesome shower, and separate deep soaking tub. Will most definitely be back again and again.

The concierge and staff were warm, welcoming and extremely polite. Within five minutes of arrival we were taken care of with our reservations. The room is by far one of the best ones I have stayed at, room service was also attentive and helpful. I would give St Julien Hotel and Spa six stars if I could, we will definitely be coming back in the future.

Enjoyed the spa today with my husband. The space was very clean with wonderful staff.
Cara performed my massage and she provided excellence in service and technique for my massage. Shea performed the facial and was very welcoming and gentle.
Anne massaged my husband and he raved about the service. Amber performed his facial and again words of praise.
Comments: the floor in the locker room needed vacuuming and there was no where to put used cups or dishes.
I do feel it is overpriced. But grateful.

The St. Julien is an excellent establishment. The staff is friendly and incredibly knowledgeable, the hotel grounds are beautiful, and the service is top-notch. As far as hotels in Boulder go, in my opinion, the St. Julien is at the top of the list. They have great live music, excellent outdoor patio area, excellent spa and pool, and a view of the Flatirons that can't be beat. The rooms are spacious and well-stocked to ensure that you have everything you need for your stay. Do yourself a favor and stay here!

Amazing hotel, restaurant, & spa! The vegan brunch and vegan dinner is hands down the best vegan food I have had in 10+ years of a vegan diet. Chef Stephen is a creative genius! The entire staff is so friendly, welcoming, and helpful! We will be here every time we visit Denver/Boulder.

St Julien is a gorgeous hotel resort and spa that lives up to every standard one would expect from a premier property in a travel destination such as Boulder. I m writing this review from the perspective of a person who typically cannot afford to reserve rooms like these except for the very rare occasion a landmark anniversary or birthday. This was a special surprise to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, and I am so grateful to the staff of St Julien for the care and attention each employee demonstrated from our reservation process to check-out (and even beyond!). Upon arrival, the valets immediately jumped into action and were upon some of the friendliest I ve come across. One of them, David and, hey, I remember this man s name two months later, demonstrating how extraordinary his commitment is to the hotel s guest experience was so kind and full of information about the area as well as the history of the hotel and its owner. He asked us how our drive was, if there was anywhere we might like to visit while in Boulder, etc. I mean, we pulled up in our well-traveled 2012 Nissan Juke (not exactly the luxury car those valets must frequently see here), and these employees treated us like we were royalty. This is the sort of opening experience that makes or breaks a hotel s appeal, so I hope management will acknowledge jobs well done. The gentleman who checked us in was equally helpful and engaging, offering water and assistance, etc. I wish I could remember his name. He greeted us each time we exited and entered and invited us to enjoy the hotel s complimentary wine event that evening. The singular and just slightly derogatory aspect of the stay, and I only mention this for anyone who might have health issues or the inability to walk long distances and not because it would be a deterrent for most, is the epic length of hallway navigation between the elevator and the opposite end of the hotel. If you are traveling with someone who requires assistance, mention this when you book your accommodations. Otherwise, I m positive this staff can assist. When we entered our room, the staff had surprised us with an anniversary card and an array of gourmet chocolates. Very appreciated! The floor-to-ceiling curtains were drawn to reveal one of the most impressively largest balconies I ve seen in a modern hotel s room. The desk had a real plant a succulent, which is always nice instead of the typical faux arrangements offered in many hotels. The smart TV displayed a message greeting us by name. The bar was stocked with many options, including liquor, local beers, champagne, juices, full-sized wine bottles and splits, and non-alcoholic beverages. Our bedside tables also included locally-made dark chocolate truffles. Aside from the balcony s view and walking proximity to more unique restaurants and shopping than anyone could possibly enjoy in a month s trip, the spa-style bath in our room at St Julien, as well as its accompanying toiletries and thoughtful amenities, was perhaps the most impressive and memorable of any I ve enjoyed ever. In my life. This feature brought the hotel s spa directly into our room. A separate toilet closet also added to the privacy of this area, and I enjoyed using the large vanity as well. Unfortunately, I cannot speak for any of the hotel s in-house dining rooms, bar areas, shops, or salon/spa, but I feel confident I will return to enjoy them upon a future, celebratory occasion. Many thanks to the staff of St Julien Hotel & Spa for creating the most ideal canvas for our trip. I have recommended your hotel to our family and friends from Colorado Springs to Dallas!

I was assigned a job there for two days, Friday & Saturday. There sure are a lot of flies in the employee working areas. If the hotel wasnt so infested with flies, this hotel would be a much better working invironment for employees and management.

The lodging is fantastic. The hotel is clean and modern and relaxing. The food is good, occasionally great, if not slightly overpriced. My only real complaint is the service at the restaurant. If you want to lounge around and have no schedule or nowhere to be - it wouldn t bother you. But I have been to the St Julien probably two dozen times, and every time I m there, specifically the back patio, the service is SLOW AS COLD HONEY DRIPPING. They are pleasant, but you ll sit there for 20 min before anyone acknowledges your existence. You ll sit there another 20 min while someone tries to get you a menu. You ll wait another 20 for them to come back and take your order. You ll wait maybe an hour after they bring your food for someone to check on you. You ll wait another 20 for them to bring the check after you ve asked for it. I often see the servers walking around with a tray with only one item on it. And they visit one table, disappear forever, come back and visit another table, disappear forever, etc - rather than checking on all their tables before disappearing. I don t know if they re understaffed, if they just don t value efficiency of time, or just don t care. Hey St Julien - start tracking it - the time from when a person sits down and track the time in between server visits. You ll see. It s not an isolated incident - it s every time I m there. You could be fantastic but for just this one thing.

UNFORTUNATELY, I just had a second negative encou...

UNFORTUNATELY, I just had a second negative encounter with a front desk employee named Lauren.
Lauren has been rude, unfriendly and completely inadequate at meeting my very basic customer needs/requests.
The first incident was via a telephone call I initiated from Denver International looking for assistance with public transportation.
Lauren did not no answer to my question and refused to ask a manager for help. I was left to fend for myself RUDELY!
I AM A NEW YORKER AND FULLY BELIEVE IN USING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FOR BOTH ECONOMIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL REASONS .
It is my opinion, that a 5 star hotel in Boulder, CO should have up to date information on the public transportation system from Denver International Airport. ESPECIALLY, because of Co-vid 19. The transportation happens to be free and has been operational although obviously with a limited schedule.
Any front desk, valet, concierge or manager at the St. Julien Hotel should have an INDEX card at their desk with explicit instructions on how to get from the airport to the hotel.
Negative encounter number 2.
I booked an additional night at the St. Julien this morning via Hotel.com.
I packed my things in my suitcase and left them ready to be moved if it was going to be necessary for the hotel to move me to new room.
I went down to the pool to have my coffee and take a swim.
I then approached the front desk to inform them that I had booked another night. I told the woman at the front desk named Lauren, that I was happy to stay in my room if that made things easier for the hotel, but the room type available on Hotel.com was not the same, it was actually a more expensive room.
I didn't care which room I went to, I had my things packed and was ready to go if they needed me to move. I simply wanted a new key and was willing to do whatever was easiest for the hotel.

In the same rude tone of voice that I experienced while on the phone with Lauren at the airport. Lauren said to me in an absolutely obnoxious tone of voice, I needed to "get my credit card to swipe for new room." The new room was already paid in full. I had done the exact same thing 2 days prior because I had decided to extend my stay. In fact, the young man, who grew up in Boulder, who was working at the front desk, bent over backwards to make things easy for me.
Lauren totally disregarded my attempts to be helpful and make it easier for the hotel. ( I have been staying at this hotel since June 13th, it is June 23rd, I have spent at least $4,000 in the past 10 days at the St. Julien, and quite frankly I don't care if I had had a discounted rate and only spent one night for $50 at the St. Julien, I and no other guest deserves that kind of rudeness and unwillingness to be helpful by an employee at the hotel.
SO, I go up to my room to get my credit card for Lauren, come downstairs, thankfully another person is at the front desk. I approach the front desk to give my credit card and get new key. The woman politely checks me into room, she says "Oh, you are Mrs. M." Yes, here are your keys. Please call the valet when you are ready to have your things moved.
I tell her my things are already ready to be moved. Please just have valet move my things to new room.
I go up to my old room to double check I have everything. There is a knock at the door. It is the "other" woman at the front desk who checked me in. I let her in and start to thank her for moving my things, and she looks at me and tells me. "Ya know, the hotel is really busy right now." As if I was putting her out somehow.
I just walked back down to the pool to write this review.
I think some customer service training is needed for some of your employees.
Every other employee has been magnificently friendly and helpful, while practicing safe co-vid 19 practices.

The entire staff went above and beyond for our special stay. We stayed here for our wedding night and we were so glad we did. The hotel is beautiful, the beds are the best I've slept in while visiting Colorado, and the view of the flat irons was the icing on the cake. We will definitely come back and stay here next time we come to Colorado. Even the valet are so accommodating!

Came for a conference and the staff and meeting spaces were wonderful. Lobby lounge and bar had a fireplace, live piano and a relaxed refinement. Rooms were plush and cozy. A bit on the pricey side, I wouldnt have made this choice outside of a work engagement but glad I had the opportunity to stay.

We were looking for a place to celebrate a birthday and I wanted to spoil myself, this was the perfect location. The massage performed by Jen was simply relaxing and amazing!!! The concierge staff, Lori & Catherine are simply amazing women who went above and beyond to ensure our time at the hotel was all we wanted and more! So grateful for them. The front desk was tremendously helpful and always had a smile no matter who was working and Jordan in Valet was great! I am not in Boulder often but I do look forward to returning to the property when we visit next!!! During this time of life with COVID this property has many precautions to keep everyone safe and distanced it did not go unnoticed but was greatly appreciated. Highly recommend this property and so many nearby outside eateries and shopping, never had to get back in your car unless you just want to.

It's sad, I want to love this hotel but it is just so mediocre. The rooms are cramped, service is disheveled, and they don't really take guests into consideration when planning events on the property. My husband I came for a quiet relaxing weekend with Spa services and instead spent all night listening to a wedding band even after we had moved rooms to get away from the noise. Definitely not a 4 star experience.

Beautiful hotel in the best location, walk directly across the street to a Pearl Street entrance with access to many bars, restaurants and shopping. Amazing toiletries with a spa bathroom. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are always clean and bright!
