I have adopted 3 dogs here. They are the most caring people. I love to go there but I'm afraid I will come home with another puppy. Lol

Don't waste your time. These animals were poorly taken care of. The healthiest looking dogs were the ones that had been brought in a day before. The staff was rude and judgemental and it's like they didn't even want these puppies to find a good home. The puppy we were going to get looked sick. We had already agreed that we were going to get him looked at by a real vet immediately after. And then we were declined with dirty looks and immediately turned away with barely a word from the receptionist. We have had many beautiful healthy animals in the past. we were ready to add a puppy to the family to live as an inside dog with almost 24 hour company and love. Please don't support this business.
Went in to find a purrfect companion, and found a match in the sweetest one year old kitty. The lady who brought me back was extremely helpful and personable. She answered my questions and when I filled out the paperwork, more staff offered me a few things like a litter pan and a cute shelf box for my new cat to play in. However I m extremely concerned in the health treatment of the cats there. After bringing her home, I noticed my kitty is riddled with huge fleas and has blood in her stool. She s being treated with a vet, but I just want someone to check in on the little things, or at least know someone there knows about it and is handling it?
Very friendly. Numerous ages and breeds of pets to select.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!... It is filled with loving, caring volunteers ... and the Vetinarian who is there... Dr. Keese... (sp?) ... is AWESOME ... I truly believe they have the best interest of the animals at heart. <3
Awesome place to adopt a pet. We had a wonderful experience and love our dog Marigold. Thank you!
I have never been treated so poorly , The staff is rude and hateful. Will never go back nor will i recommend them to anyone.
Wonderful place to adopt, many pets needing good homes
We found a lost dog and they where able to help us track down the owner.
St Francis animal care helps so many unwanted pets & strays. They're an amazing organization!
They helped me find my family's new best friend pippin
I brought a cat that I rescued, Peperoni, in to St. Francis and they were so sweet to Peperoni! They were very cognizant of my feelings as well, as I had been caring for him for about a month, they didn't push me to give him up and they were very understanding of the circumstances. I would definitely bring another rescue to them or adopt from them when the time comes!
A clean, organized, professional and loving safe haven for rescued and homeless furbabies. Stop by when your ready to open your home and your heart to more love than you can imagine.
Wonderful facility. Staff and volunteers are all wonderful people. They care not only about rescuing the animals but also take care of their volunteers. They re an honest and thorough facility which is hard to find in the rescue world. I have met several of the rescue dogs and they re all great dogs and healthy. Can t say enough good things about them.
Loved the experience got new family member eugene there
The staff needs to be blessed for their excellent care and love they provide all the animals. I adopted a beautiful dog from the St Francis!!
Drive through rabies shots...wonderful place to get your next furbaby...
We love St. Francis CARE! It's an amazing facility full of awesome people. They go above & beyond for these animals & for that I'm thankful. They were all so loving & caring to our sweet Zoey (fka Makya) until we were able to bring her home. In fact, we love them so much, we're currently waiting to adopt another sweet baby from there. Well worth the 2 hour drive! Thanks for everything you do St. Francis.... you guys rock!
The ladies that help me were just wonderful. I drove an hour to see a couple of their puppies only to find out that they were at a festival in town. Lucky for me a couple of ladies were back from the event and let me meet the puppies.
I would not recommend St. Francis Care ever.
I found a dog on line Mariko male husky/lab
Adorable. I could not complete the adaption papers on line, no fax, I called and asked if I could take a picture and send application e-mail. I was excepted, as a mom to Miriko I would pick him up Monday 12/5. I called to make sure all was okay to pick up Mariko and what type of payment. I m 2.5 hours away so I wanted to confirm all was good. St. Francis said yes he is ready. They should have said "sorry we adapted Mariko out" or "he is sick with cough". I drive 2.5 hrs. Sign the papers and pay 250.00. They bring out a dog with the same coloring but he was skinner I could see his ribs. I asked about his parents. The girls behind the desk told me his mother was killed by a car. A foster husky mom was brought into nurse. Home bound we went not sure I had the right pup I requested. Poor baby was sick coughing, mucus coming out of his nose, vomiting, pooping in the crate. I cleaned it out three times before we finally made it home. He was lathorgic, coughing, biting his paws. I sent his pictures to a vet and they said those are two different dogs. One is a med/large breed the other is a small breed. I was told to return him since he was sick and it was not the original dog I requested. Called first thing in the morning 12/6 explained the situation. He was curled up on my lap the 2.5 hr drive. Poor guy. I hated taking him back to a place that made him sick but even the vet said they should take care of him. I feel the adaption was a "bait and switch". They had an event on Saturday and probably adapted out the Mariko I had choosen. The little guy was sick. I had him less than 24 hrs. St. Francis, Refused to refund my money of $250. Did not offer me another pup. Was rude to me by stating we don't have high energy dogs that match my personality all their dogs are loveable. That I obviously did not really want a dog or I would have taken this one. Several of my foster pup friends explained to me "It's not fair to the dog or it's owner if the dog does not fit the owners life style". I have been looking for months for a husky mix to run and hike with every day. A small hound mix may not be able to keep up with that life style. They did not care if it was a good fit or that they switched dogs, lied, were rude. I was very disappointed and I feel so bad about leaving that little guy with an uncaring faculty. I'm shocked they adopt out sick pups and switch and bate.
They helped me with a cat that was sick and needed surgery very affordable prices and everyone was so nice and they truly love animals!! Dr Creese is so nice and and the facility is great!! Can't say enough kind words about them they are truly angels!!
My niece got one dog but had to return her because she was unable to control her. She wanted another one and said she would adopt her but she needed spayed first. They gave her to another person so now my niece is back to square one.
Very unprofessional and an overall disappointment. Brought my children here and was anticipating bringing a puppy home. Upon letting us look at them and pick the one we wanted to adopt, ( $250.00), we were told that there was an application process. Turned this in and was denied because our last pet was killed by the neighbors pit bull that came onto our property. Wow!
Animal control was called and the pitbull was euthanuzed.
Now I know why they house 15 dogs outside due to no room yet encourage all pet owners not to let their dogs go outside for any length of time.
Went to Jackson County humane after and their facility was twice as clean and was disinfected neutralizing all odors. St. Francis you must hold your nose when you go in.
The staff was great and I found the best new member to our family I could have ever imagined. I did a lot of research looking for the best facility and it exceeded all my expectations. They truly care about the animals first.
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!! I CALLED TO GET A QUOTE REGARDING PRICING FOR VACCINATION OF MY NEW KITTEN. I WAS QUOTED $82.00 OVER THE PHONE. I WENT TO THE VISIT AND PAID $62.00 I GET A REMINDER CALL TO COME BACK IN FOR THE NEXT FOLLOWING UP APPOINTMENT ON THE SAME VACCINATIONS I ASKED WHAT THE REMAINING AMOUNT WOULD BE THEY SAID $62.00. I ASKED WHY WOULD IT BE A TOTAL OF $124.00 WHEN I WAS QUOTED $82.00 AND THIS MORNING MY CO-WORKER WAS QUOTED $55.00. THE RECEPTIONIST DID NOT KNOW HOW TO ANSWER AND BECAME UPSET WHEN SHE LOOKED INTO THE ANSWER THEN HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME. I CALLED BACK ASKING THE SAME QUESTIONS THIS TIME THEY PUT THE BLAME ON ME THAT I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN AND WAS ALREADY EXPLAINED TO ME I THEN REQUESTED TO SPEAK WITH THE VETERINARIAN FOR A MORE EDUCATED RESPONSE ON THE ISSUE AND HE WAS MORE IRRITATE THAN THE TECHS. I SAID I AM NOT LOOKING FOR LOWER PRICES JUST ACCURACY AND HONESTY IN THE PRICING, HE LITERALLY RESPONDED BY SAYING ITS BEST FOR ME TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE AND I ABSOLUTELY AGREE. I INFORMED HIM THAT I WOULD BE SURE TO INFORM THE COMMUNITY OF THE INACCURACY OF THE PRICING AND HE THREATENED ME WITH AN ATTORNEY.
if i could give a 0 star i would. took forever to even have someone finally contact me. then when they did they told me my application to adopt was rejected due to me saying that spay/nuter is not important to me. which that is correct, it isn't. i have had 2 dogs my whole life which weren't and they were healthy dogs. still told them i would get him fixed and i was still rejected. steer clear of this place. nothing but headaches
I adopted my tripaw from them. Easy, smooth experience. They have been very kind and helpful with him long after the adoption.
Amazing people! Super friendly and knowledgeable. Helped me find the perfect pet for my family. Facility is kept nice and clean as well
Took 2 cats in to be spayed. Neither were given any antibiotics, pain medication, an e-collar or anything. Just told to "keep the cat from jumping." Thankfully, our one cat survived it but the younger one did not. She was only 5 years old, and they could not explain why she died. They claimed she was gaining weight, eating, drink, doing everything she was supposed to, but after her second surgery, she came back to us extremely thin. Not sure what they did, but something must have gone terribly wrong. Do not recommend this "vet clinic"
Fantastic people caring low cost spay neuter program
No kill shelter, striving to rescue dogs and cats. Veterinarian on staff, all dogs spayed or neutered with shots before being 'ready.'
This ASPCA facility has an incredible selection of wonderful dogs and we have fallen in love with the one we adopted.
And Amy, "whatcha you wanna do" and the other employee, and the incredible volunteers are second to none.
The staff was friendly. My family and myself went to adopt a kitten to have in our home. Looked at the cats they had and fell in love with a 6 months old kitten named secretary. Filled out the application and was told they had to have the whole family there (my daughter was not with us) to see how they would be with secretary and they found out we have rabbits which we got from Rural King. We were asked about vaccinations and if they have been fixed. We said we didn't know. They said they would have to find out if they were from their boss who wasn't there at the time if she knew since she has rabbits. Got a call from the boss and was told we they weren't fixed and we couldn't adopt the kitten until our 5 rabbits are fixed. I find that ridiculous! We shouldn't have to get our rabbits fixed to adopt a kitten. What if we want to breed the rabbits? I was crushed because of this and feel extremely bad for the kitten that she would of had a home if it wasn't for that. I was even willing to pay $100 for a kitten. Ifou plan to adopt any animals from them, make sure your other animals are fixed or they won't approve you. We will be asking people we know who have cats that when they get kittens to let us know so we can get two of them for free.
Attention, care and focus on finding good homes for pets.
St. Francis Animal Care is a locally operated no-kill animal shelter. It adopts out many dogs and cats each month and provides the best of care in it's beautiful new modern facilities. My wife and I are proud to be active supporters of St Francis Animal Care.
Nurse was really rude and smart to me very unprofessional but secretary was great took care of my baby vet was sturn but cared for my baby
I volunteer at st Francis and they are all wonderful people doing their part to help animals and I looked at some of the reviews and some called them rude and uncaring that are very caring there was one lady that spends everyday even Christmas there but voulnteer it is a very cool experience
Thank you for my wonderful companion Hank.
She is two today, January 29.

I am always happy with the care that they give my pets. They take the time to explain everything to you and they are very good with the animals. They do not try to push products on you and prices are reasonable.
They were very kind in a difficult situation of trying to find a stray kitten found outside our hotel, a place to stay while we were 400 miles from home.
When I went there, it was obvious that a majority of their puppies had parvo or parvo like symptoms...they adopt them out like that! What if you already have a young pup at home? I dont want my other puppy getting sick. If they really cared about animals, they would adopt out only the healthiest of animals. This is unbelievable to me...and just try to get your pets records. Ummm...it's illegal for vets to not keep records of there patients...what other illegal activities are they practicing? One
can only wonder....
The staff was wonderful with my mom's dogs... they were both getting spayed but had never been on a leash or to a vet and were scared but the staff calmed them and were able to take them right on back - we picked them up this morning and they did great great service great staff and great prices!! Would highly recommend them to anyone!!
I filled out an online application to adopt a puppy, and called the next day to see if my application was approved. I was told my application was approved and that I could pick him up in a week and a half. I called again several days later to verify that I could still pick him up on that day and was told I could. Then on the day I was going to pick him up I got the heartbreaking phone call claiming they had lost my application and had already adopted the dog I had my heart set on to someone else and I could no longer have him.
We bought our Duke from them 3 years ago!!! Immediate response and definitely cares about their animals!!! You have to fill out a adoption form so they feel comfortable giving an animal to you which I feel is amazing!!!! They won't give an animal to you unless if they know you can take care of one!!:)
I love Saint Francis wonderful people there and I've adopted two animals from there and will always go back
Nice staff, affordable adoptions and medical care, I got my kitten there and she's the sweetest and they paid me to get her spayed
Helpful when needing help about pets nice people here.
Just went in to adopt a small puppy named Zachary that I ve been looking for a very long time and I felt I had a connection with him. I ve been looking forward to it. This place has very VERY rude workers and are very disrespectful. They acted as if they do not care whether an animal gets adopted, they are more worried about judging you and giving you a life lesson. Felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable and wanted to leave as fast as I could. The only reason I would recommend this place to anyone is because I believe all dogs deserve a home. Won t come here again.
Sweet people. I donated my dog food that my dog can't eat
Excellent staff and who can complain about getting they're new best friend!
Excellent. We adopted a puppy, he had an ear infection and they helped us out no charge weeks later! Staff is friendly and you can tell they love the animals there.
Friendly helpful staff that answers questions and most appreciative of donations given.
We adopted our puo Walter from here and the staff have been nothing but helpful, kind, and concerned. We thank them for all they do and for giving us our boy Walter.
This place is a sad excuse for a "shelter." First off when we walked in EVERYONE was sitting and coffee clutching. With all those animals they have that much free time? Secondly they are doing construction which puts all the animals on edge. How can you meet and greet an animal when it is flinching every 3 seconds? Finally we had no replies to correspondence, period. It is like they dont want to adopt pets out. I had an easier time getting my apartment than trying to adopt a dog via St Francis...
We got a great dog! She was a 4month old puppy. She was crate trained. She could walk on a leash without pulling. She was well-adjusted and socialized. We did not feel like the screening was too strict. We were very happy with the whole process.
They very rude when I tried to volunteer. And pretty much drove me out.
This amazing rescue makes it easy to adopt your next furbaby!
Awesome facility and wonderful staff. Helped my family during a rough time.
Great animals and a lot of them! It s also a no kill shelter!
I adopted a cat from them a few months ago, and she had fleas and was treated for a tapeworm. They did not tell me she had fleas, so I was unaware and didn t treat her. It snowballed into my house needing to get bombed for fleas, and she got another tapeworm from eating an infected flea. I called today for advice on medicine, but they immediately went on the defensive and were acting like I was trying to get free treatment. I wanted to know what kind of worm my cat had because of their negligence. But they more interested in telling me how she couldn t have had fleas. That they checked her and how bizarre it was. They didn t want to take any blame. I genuinely feel bad for any animal at their shelter. I m glad I was able to save her from them.
Simply the best. Good people who truly love animals. Dr. Kay is .
A wonderful facility with a management and staff with HUGE hearts who work long and hard for their dogs and cats.
Let me start off by saying I'm going to write my experience off as being tainted because of the COVID-19. Due to the virus we conducted the entire adoption process under a tent outside the door, so it was a little unorthodox to begin with. They brought out our new puppy, I signed the paperwork, they took our picture and away we went. Going through the paperwork on the way home we found that the pup was supposedly being fed twice a day, morning and evening and that there were no other special needs. What we found out the next morning after an emergency trip to our veterinarian was that he is actually 2 weeks younger than we were told, and he was suffering seizures due to low blood sugar because he needed to be fed every 4-6 hours! We almost accidently killed our new puppy because no one informed us of his extra needs! I am glad to report that he recovered from this and is now doing great! I am not mad that we got him from here, nor am I mad that even after making an extra contribution for his adoption and turning around and having to spend another $120 on the vet to get him healthy. What upsets me is the fact WE WERE NOT EVER INFORMED! If adopting from here, please make sure to ask if your new furry friend has any special needs and what their diet currently is and how often and how much they are eating.
My cat was sick and I was scared. College student working at subway means not much cash for vet bills. They treated us wonderfully. So glad I found them.
Excellent place to adopt a companion very helpful staff and very caring
Adopted an angel of a puppy. Wonderful staff and great experience
I had gotten both my cats and they were patience with me and I love this shelter
I would barely give this facility one star. I adopted my dog, Sophie, about 2 weeks ago. The adoption process was not smooth at all and I should have known from there to RUN! I placed an application online and called the next day they More
They were very kind in a difficult situation of trying to find a stray kitten found outside our hotel, a place to stay while we were 400 miles from home.
Rude I will never come back to this place again!!!!
Dr Creese is incompetent and murdered our cat during a simple procedure. The front staff, Chesney, laughed at us and rolled her eyes while we stood crying in the front hall waiting for our dead cats body. The staff does not care about animals at all. The organization will not even apologize for her behavior and apparently are okay with my cat's treatment.
Great place to find a companion. We adopted Rango (formerly known as Buddy). He loves his knew family and home. Shelter dogs make great pets. Thank you to everyone at St. Francis.
If you are looking to adopt an animal, St Francis CARE is THE place!
This place is awesome! We found a stray cat with a VERY hurt leg (we couldn t find the owners so we decided to keep him) and we explained to them that we could not pay very much to get him fixed up. They helped us work out the expenses and they were able to amputate his leg and keep him for 4 days. (It s now been over a month) if it weren t for st.Francis our kitty very well could ve died. He s now living his best life as a 3 legged kitty! I definitely recommend st.Francis.
