Great sweet potato fries
Their cheese curds are fantastic and completely unique, and their Elk Burger was phenomenal.

A nice place for a good brunch, lunch or dinner. The restaurant is located in a nice place, and love their outdoor seating. Very friendly staff.
The menu is on a bit of a higher side. The food tasted excellent.

Had the lunch special, which was the burger basket. Pub fries are awesome but the burger tastes as if it's just a grocery store patty. Service was nice and friendly.
**EDIT***
Everything was amazing this time. Fries have changes (not a fan but they aren't horrible) burgers are amazing now. Different chef and meat source. Changes from 3 star to 5 star now.
Still a good tap selection.

Food is very solid and the service has gotten dramatically better. I wish the owners would invest a little more into the business but times are tough. Would suggest giving it a try! $$

To slow! We arrived at noon on Friday and it took them 18 minutes to take our drink and food orders. After waiting 20 more minutes, the server said our food should be ready in ten because the kitchen was busy. She understood as we left to find food elsewhere. About half the tables were taken outside and none had food yet.

This place sucks...Bartender overcharged me two extra drinks that I never ordered. When I told him he wouldnt change it, after a while I just went with it...Didnt want to be diffucult.

Its also great if you love horrible EJukebox music choices like Taylor Swift, Kesha, and a litany of other ear garbage.

It's ALSO great if you like aggressive/confrontational/pull-tab obsessed drunkards who the staff does nothing about.

Don't even get me started on the food.

Please don't give this place your money.

Not good at all. Never been there before. Just moved to the area so we gave it a go. The waitress was really nice. But didn't even worry about refills or even empty drinks. Just walked right by. The food was cold. Except my fish. The fries, onion rings, and grilled cheese. Sent it back, and there was a slight tempature increase. Bloody Mary was good. No manager came by to apologize. It took forever for the food and it wasn't busy. Never again

One of the best Juicy Lucy's I've had in Minneapolis, filled with smoked cheddar, topped with a fried egg, bacon and mushrooms. Also recommend sweet potato fries. Fantastic atmosphere, definitely waited too long to give this place a try. (Wednesday is build your own juicy lucy)

Service was good, the staff was very freindly and accommodating. The restaurant was clean, had good music, a good beer selection, and comfortable seating.

-On the other hand-

The server assured me before ordering, that the burgers are hand pattied fresh in house. Unfortunately, the burger patty closely resembled a discount patty you would buy from the freezer section in a grocery store; also, no pink center as the menu stated.

$4 upgrade to homemade tater tots. They were more like seasoned mashed potato logs that were deep fried. A bit misleading if you ask me, I didn't care for them.

We just moved to the neighborhood. I was excited to try a new place, unfortunately, I left disappointed. I'll give them another shot, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

I would also like to mention that a number of people who rated this place 4 or 5 stars, also gave a 4 or 5 rating to: McDonalds, Chilis, and TGI Fridays.

We came on a Sunday mid morning. When we said that we really didn't care about the game that much, we were shown to a quieter part of the restaurant. My husband could still see the game, but we were not close to the enthusiastic fans at the bar.

The fried chicken in a biscuit was spectacular, although I had to pass part of mine to my husband to finish. I had not anticipated about a 4 x 6 inch biscuit!

My husband had a burger that included copious amounts of blue cheese. He enjoyed all but the one bite of that that he shared with me.

Definitely coming back!

Good beer selection with decent food specials. This is our usual stop after our weekly broomball games in the winter. The atmosphere is usually pretty chill, and the staff is very friendly.

Huge tap list with tons of choices and great atmosphere. Menu has lots of different options to try, I am eager to go back and try something new! The nachos are amazing and so are the pub tacos!

We had really great burgers and fries from the Happy hour menu so they were very reasonably priced too. The burgers were better than the turkey sandwich on foccacia. We'll definitely be back.

We regularly meet some friends of ours at the Village Pub because it's a central spot and because we like the food, drinks and servers there. We caught the end of happy hour and were able to take advantage of that. My hamburger was delicious and just the right amount for a meal for me. I had the dark beer and it was perfect. We will definitely return.

We stopped in here for lunch on Saturday. In the past the food has always been pretty good, but something seems to have changed. We ordered the Pastrami Reuben and the Barbacoa Grilled Cheese so we could split each sandwich. My wife got french fries with hers, but they were overly salty. I ordered a cup of the ham and potato soup of the day, but it was terrible. There was way too much black pepper in the soup, so I sent it back. Happily the server removed it from our bill. The sandwiches were both ok. I do not think we will be heading back again soon. I will say the server, Clara, was very good. She was more than happy to take care of the soup when we told her the issue with it.

Delicious food with an amazing staff. Every time you go there the staff is always fast to get you menus, drinks, and to check in on how the food is. Their Cajun Dry Rub Wings are some of the best around, and Burgers are no let down either! I can say I have tried several things on their menu and have always left full, and happy. They even have a good liquor and beer selection if you're looking for something to go along with that great meal. Throughly impressed, and excited to check out the patio this summer!

We had lunch here today. Terrible! We used to come here for the brisket tacos (which were amazing)!! Ordered the brisket tacos today.... It was basically pot roast on a tortilla with a couple black beans and lettuce?! They must have changed the recipe? Or the cook?

Nice place if you want to sit outside and drink. Otherwise, don't go for the food.

My boyfriend and I waited 15 minutes, after being seated, to have our orders taken. Only to wait another 20 minutes, to be told our food would be ready in 10 minutes. We left without eating.

Depends who is working, Dan was bartender, burger was good, bartender great. Last time I was here, would of given 1 out of 5, time before 4 out out of 5. Both times I was here when Dan was taking care of us, 5 out 5.

We had the server mentioned in the previous "glowing" reviews on a slower Thursday night. She had came and taken our drink orders and 10 minutes later came back and taken our food order, without bringing us our drinks, but saw our drinks sitting on the bar awaiting delivery which she walked right by. The manager or supervisor at the time had to deliver the drinks for her 5 minutes later. We had ordered the happy hour burgers with quite a few upsale items. Food came, which was delivered by another server which was fine and dandy. But soon realized we had no napkins or silverware. We waited for a good 10 minutes, attempting to make eye contact to gain attention, but that never worked. I eventually walked up to the bar to get what we needed, where the bar tender looked at me and said she apologized for us not having those items (took 2 trips up to get everything). Not to mention, I am in a wrist brace, which is very difficult to eat a big burger. It was quite obvious to me that I was in need of some silverware. The last time we saw her was when she asked us for another drink. I said yes. My girlfriend said no. She brought me the other drink and said, and I quote, "Here's your beer, want your check too?". We gladly accepted and paid (and tipped her for her lack of service) and left.

We will return but will sit at the bar. Not at the tables. Horrific service.

This was my first time there. I went for lunch and I was impressed. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff, and very good food. I had the Elk burger (excellent), I recommend it. I plan on going back with my wife and having it again.

It had been a couple of years since we'd been here, so we stopped on our way into downtown for lunch. We've since decided we need to incorporate the Village Pub into our repertoire, as the food was fantastic and a surprisingly good selection!
