A nice small local planetarium. It's not the biggest place in the world, but does get the job done. Have spent a few nights here looking at the stars. The staff is awesome and you can definitely tell they love working there and fostering a love and/or interest for the cosmos for young children.
They also open the planetarium to everyone on the day of the science fair. This will allow people to take a look at the facilities and see if it's something they would like to revisit.

We will definitely be going back! Great for adults and kids and better than 3D! See what is in our night sky. Great end show tribute to MSU with fireworks could not be happier and for a reasonable price. Thanks for a wonderful afternoon

We were chaperones to a little over 60 middle school students...who for the most part were very well behaved. Some of the students had no idea of what a planetarium is...as the presenter ask questions a lot of the students knew the answers...I think it even surprised the presenter. The planetarium itself was very clean and well organized...I was quite impressed Michigan State is undergoing major innovations and it shows even in the presentations presented in Abrams Planetarium.

My family and I thought the planetarium would be a fun experience, and we wanted to watch a popular show. We called in advance to ask about tickets, and was told that tickets were sold at the door only, so I arrived over an hour early to wait in line to guarantee my family would get tickets. After reaching the front of the line (wait time 45 min.), I was asked how many tickets I needed. When I told the (presumably) student staff member that I was buying three tickets, she rudely replied, "no you're not," then (almost smugly) explained that I could only buy entrance for people who were present, and that there were no "tickets." By this point, the line was too long for me to wait for my family to arrive (they would have been sold out), so I had no other option than to leave, and tell my family (who had just parked, and were walking to the building) not to bother.
I understand that they may not have systems in place to facilitate ticket pre-sales, which is fine. But why post information in newspapers, flyers, and even their own website about "tickets," when there aren't even any tickets? It's literally just an entrance fee. I also have a big issue with the way I was treated by the staff members (which I suppose I could have expected, given the student-run nature of the program). The planetarium shows may be exciting, educational, ... whatever, but the logistical operations are a joke.

Simply a wonderful small planetarium and a great asset for the Lansing Community. My kids clamor to go all the time. What better endorsement could there be?

The Abrams Planetarium is a great planetarium located at Michigan State University. It's small, but there is still enough to see and do. They have different shows and exhibits going on periodically. I have seen some interesting exhibits there including comets, planets, etc. They have the Imax type shows where they screen the film on the ceiling in the auditorium. It's really cool. There is a gift shop too. Definitely make a stop at the planetarium sometime!

Abrams Planetarium provided an excellent experience for my class. As an instructor for a class on ancient cultures, it's a wonderful opportunity to have an on-campus field trip like this. Director Schmoll provided a fascinating presentation on the connections between ancient astronomy and mythology, expertly tailoring the presentation to the learning goals of the course, and it was both highly educational and entertaining as well. I absolutely look forward to coming back with students, friends, and colleagues.

Always a nice place to take the kids. Check out the times dedicated to the kid friendly shows to have the full experience with your little ones. The lobby is a giant exhibit that is fun to explore before and after the show. The MSU students that run the Planetarium are well informed and very friendly. I get a little motion sick when watching their film, but the kids love it.
