Great new arena, comfortable seats with enough legroom for even relatively tall people (6') view is good from almost every seat I've been in.
First time at the hydro. Absolutely fabulous venue. Great accessible seats, great views from all areas. Staff couldn't have been more helpful which put my disabled husband at rest from the start. Will definitely go again.
Our first visit, went to see matinee showing of Still Game. A bit of a confusion getting to our seats, probably down to us not quite figuring out the layout. Big queues for bars and food before the show and at intermission. Meant the show started a bit later than it was meant to. We found the sound echoed a bit.
Unfortunately a fight broke out a few rows behind us half way into the second part of the show. Staff seemed to have it under control fairly quickly and a group were escorted out.
Staff could also try to do more about folk vaping. I know it can be difficult to spot, but the guy sitting next to me was puffing away like Ivor the Engine. Very off putting.
First time visiting for Enrique concert, drinks very expensive, but super experience
If getting there by taxi get dropped off near the Peugeot dealership on Minerva way and walk through the tunnel, it will take 5 min and more often than not there's buskers in the tunnel, the queues to get in move fairly quickly despite the back search as does the queues at the kiosks however they are very pricy to say the least.
There's no seats or benches on the main interior concourse so if you have mobility issues and can't stand for any time then your going to have problems.
If you need to get cheaper seats the go for the first tier or even the second as you still get a good view and not to far away, don't go for the very back or the top tier as its too high and the view is terrible, as is the walk up the stairs as the lift doesn't go that high.
If your female then there's always a large queue for the toilets so be smart and go 2 min before the interval starts.
We were watching the Australian Pink Floyd and we had the best day out before it
Venue is good, staff are good, prices for food and drink, of the scale, a Michelin star restaurant would be cheaper, but what do you expect!
A great venue for live music. Been in both standing and the 'gods' (highest seating area) for gigs and would recommend both, obviously there is a price difference with most tickets but the seats we had (block R row W, 144, see photos) had More
When at the hydro yesterday to c the the strictly come dancing tour, a gift from my brother for me and my dad, I have ms and stood outside for an hour and 15 minutes to be told the show was cancelled, also for all the time we were there it cost us 11 pounds for a disabled space that was in carpark over the road, disappointed, especially as it was a giftx
Gr8 modern venue for concerts saw jack whitehall went down well
No handrails in seating area scary for older people
well laid out facility, but the cheap seats (especially for comedy) are far from the act.
Bery good atmosphere for concert, Very helpful staff for guests visiting for the first time, very well spaced for visitors to move around
Best sound. Love that each level has a good and drink stand
Good if you've got VIP not the best music venue in the world but ok
Good arena for an event, could do with better drink options. I may be picky, but I don't count Bacardi as a rum choice. Especially as there are so many good rums available, and even standard range rums are good.
The audio was good on 2 of the nights we were in. One night it wasn't great, but that's not the venue's fault.
Security team did a good job on the way in but the stewards could have done a better job inside. People standing/sitting in pathways. One steward remarked "just leave them" luckily a different steward sorted out the issue (4 people trying to sit in 2 VIP seats, with only 2 VIP tickets).
Was there for WWE Live.. awesome atmosphere, helpful staff and overall great experience..as always
Great venue with plenty of very friendly and helpful staff.
This is a fantastic venue with excellent facilities. The public toilets are clean and tidy and there are many, many food and drinks stands around the building. Unfortunately the choice of food and drink is very limited, don't expect anything remotely healthy, and these tend to be expensive but no more than any other arena.
The seating is quite comfortable and there is an adequate amount of leg room. However, if someone wants to get out of the row be prepared to stand up to let them by. Also the rows can be very long in some areas so if you are in the centre seats and need to continually get out to buy food or drinks or to go the bathroom be prepared to disturb a good number of people.
You can get a good view in the lower stands but I wouldn't recommend going above the first tier if you want to see clearly. Anything higher and you'll feel like you are very far away from the stage.
There are a variety of transport links but the surrounding areas are almost entirely restricted parking so it can be difficult to find free on street parking within a reasonable walking distance, especially during the day. Do your research on what will suit your party best before travelling.
A great place for a concert, all the tiers have a great view of the stage, plenty of eat and drink kiosks, queues where minimal. Only downside the price for carpark on top of your concert tickets.
Been here a few times the gigs have been fantastic, great venue and staff are helpful.
The venue itself is good ..but come on...Luke warn beer ..not even a pint..take it leave it attitude ...shambles of bars...honestly I never slag staff but it was like dealing with stroppy teenagers
I prefer much smaller venues, but it's a great asset for Glasgow and attracts bigger acts that wouldn't come here, otherwise. Very friendly, helpful and nice staff. We'll laid out but does feel quite steep on the higher levels.
A really great addition to Glasgow's music venues. Well laid out and good acoustics for such a large place. Way better than the SECC.
I think the hydro is the best music venue I have been in. No matter were you are sitting or standing you get a perfect experience of the group.
Every seat gets a good view and the sound is spot-on. Steep banked seating though. Apply caution if you have vertigo
Seen many great gigs here. Suprised me how much I liked it. Acoustics are fantastic. Parking is an absolute rip off, so get a lift or take pubic transport if you can
Took granddaughter for little mix concert.. Comfy seats, plenty to eat & drink, Was amazing weekend!!
Great venue staff very helpful Celtic supporters best in the world hail hail
We used our SSE rewards and it made life considerably easier. Skip the massive queues, own private area for food and drink. Really great.
The venue itself is really good, absolutely huge. The view from high up is clear but it's quite a bit away from the main stage. Would try to get first tied up or sitting on the main floor.
Great venue.
Excellent Kiss concert. Lots of pyrotechnics and venue did not catch fire, which is a good thing from a safety perspective.
First time at the venue. Loved it. Great staff at the stalls and the security. Plenty of bars for food and drink. Overall probably the best large venue I have visited for a live music gig !
Great venue, considering I don't really like arena gigs
Have been to two shows at this venue, both were amazing
Went to Frankie Vallie concert, great night, friendly helpful staff
Bit of a rip off with water that I bought in the place no lids!! $2.40 the act was good though!! They must make a mint!!
Great venue for the band's bar over priced and the wine is fit for cleaning the drains.
Excellent place for concerts plenty parking within the area but be quick as it will fill up very fast.
Very poor view of stage and screens beer terrible and very expensive won't be back
Excellent venue with great acoustics, went to see Kings Of Leon here and it was amazing!!!
Went to see Russell Howard. Staff were really helpful and services were great. Seen a lot of bad reviews in the parking unit next to it but ran really smoothly.
Great venue but very expensive for drink/juice and water! All the staff are really friendly
Originally I hated this venue as I felt so far away from the show (Lee Evans) that I could hardly even see him, also I felt the top teir seating was very very steep and it was a bit frightening going to our seats but as I have been back several times since I've changed my mind. I've been seated/standing on the ground level and the sound and lighting is incredible.... I even managed to get good vids/pics of Shania Twain and Kylie Minogue. My favourite bit was booking into the hydro restaurant before the gigs as it was delicious and the staff were magnificent. Can't fault it at all now.
We went to see Disney on Ice.
After everything I've heard or seen abou the Hydro I was a bit disappointed.
Don't get me wrong the marshals and staff where on point. But, they have food booths inside, but no sitting areas to eat. It's OK for me as an adult but the wee one had to sit on the floor then to eat. We saw a few others in the same situation. I feel a few chairs and tables wouldn't be too much.
The inside is basic but relatively clean.
The show itself was really really good, so I'd advice that, but the Hydro itself... I guess it's best to remember before you go it's an arena that doesn't specialise so if like me you expect almost like a Vue or Odeon or theatre layout, you'll be disappointed.
Freezing cold had to keep coat on throughout performance. Paid extra for lounge beforehand it was cold and uninviting. Girl that served me got order wrong twice, it was like she hadn't been trained. Gave up in end and just took drinks she gave me. Prices extortionate for food and drinks with a very small menu to choose from. Jack Whitehall brilliant definitely recommend but due to bad sound and people talking all through performance the combination of both spoilt show. Pros Jack Whitehall, parking at front door - Cons freezing cold venue, staff not trained, lack of choice in food, seats very uncomfortable and sound echoed. Would not recommend.
Brilliant music venue! You dont feel like you are crammed in. Helpful staff too.
Great venue but large but don't recommend being in seats at front you can't see a thing
Great for concerts. Good facilities for the disabled.
Great place to watch a gig or show but organisation and information could be better when queueing before a show.
Kevin bridges amazing
Experience spoilt by overzealous rude security staff who patrolled back and forward in front of us all night .
Not sure I would go back to the hydro to see anyone because of their behaviour .
Brilliant arena, security are great, so well staffed
