I haven't been in but It looks nice to see from outside
Best venue in Glasgow maybe the world but at least glasgow
This building looks fantastic from the outside Once you are inside it is dull The acoustics make up for it staff are very professional
Night we went doors opened at 6:30, people had already started to line up when we arrived at 5:00. Very limited shelter for people waiting outside. Not allowed to take food or drink in, searching bags & people on entry. Once inside food More
Never been disappointed with any show I've seen here and great parking.
Incredible facility. Every time I go the atmosphere is great and the staff are very helpful. Only issue I have is the price of drinks but this is expected at such a large venue.
Food and drink ridiculously expensive and inadequate. Queues crazy. Event delayed due to inefficiency.
Great help full staff, easy to find your way and top security. Drinks and food a bit pricey but no more than you would expect.
Easy to get to your seats as well mapped and signs there too .
This is a decent venue, found that queues for refreshment weren't too bad been acts.
Excellent venue, plenty of staff available to help and assist.
Great acoustics but extremely expensive drinks and snacks
Great venue, good facilities and clean, chairs comfortable for a long sit, air conditioning comfortable.
Large theatre conference centre poor parking facilities for disabled. To far to walk.
It's cavernous and gives you vertigo when you look right up to the top but better than secc for concerts, just choose seats wisely. Sse reward lounges are a bit of a joke, no beer on tap on Saturday night and very inexperienced bar staff but still gets you in off that gaping concourse.
Went to see Bryan Adams, great concert though the sound was just a wee bit distorted
Venue is ok but food is poor quality and overpriced, drinks as well
View was fantastic, easy access to seating, and no crush on way out
Really enjoyed my experience at The Hydro. We went to see Deacon Blue and Nile Rodgers in the same week before Christmas. Very different shows and the service, access and seats were great both times.
One of the best venues in the World. The Glasgow crowd, don't hold back
Great day out, if you are in a suite, remember to take your ticket with you if going out for a ciggy, the wristband won't allow you in or out of the hydro
Fabulous acoustics music events really expensive food and drink though
Well organised, very accessible. Bar is extortionate!
Excellent venue for concerts ..not any good for parking in the multi storey during concerts .. over an hour to get out of carpark..
Doors opened on time, Staff helpful in showing where seats are. Very large place.
if you are running late tell the audience can't stand people who don't give the right information out .nearly 30mins late .
The SSE Hydro is a multi-purpose indoor arena located within the Scottish Event Campus in Glasgow, Scotland. The arena was initially named The Hydro after its main sponsor, energy company Scottish & Southern Energy subsidiary Scottish Hydro.
In evening you can enjoy beautiful view of SSE HYDRO
Nice venue, took over an hour to get in because of the queing, causing me to miss the support act!
Went to see Kevin bridges, even though we were right up top we were still able to see everything and enjoyed the show .
Never been here before however was so very easy to find our way around and the staff were extremely helpful.
My partner and I love this venu, it just happens to be in out favourite city. Our 4 hour journey to come here is always filled with excitement, even though it's expensive when you want a drink, the atmosphere is always amazing. Can't wait to come back and see some more great live music.
The SSE Hydro is a remarkable Music Concert Venue. All the fun of a football stadium without the outdoor chills. Great sound stage and a wide variety of seats to suit all pockets and stage proximities.
Has the most uncomfortable seating I have ever experienced. Ticket prices are huge as is the food, drink and merchandise.
Premier venue it maybe. But comfort and value for money it is not
James Arthur March 2020
Amazing concert! Atmosphere was amazing, wasn t too crowded...would definitely go back to see more artists
Nice place but ticket security a real pain. Long queues outside to get in
Hugh Jackman wonderful but only one thing the stars to your seat tad but dangerous
Fantastic night out to see the Chili Pepper's. We stayed across at the hilton. Staff were really friendly. Lots of space and options for food. They tried really hard to spread out the queues whilst waiting for drinks/food. Acoustics are great in the building, we will be visiting again this year.
Show was great, but whoever designed this place should have thought to put in an elevator to the top, god help you if you are up in the 300 section
Only complaint is the top tiers are a bit steep and you need a telescope to see the stage, will buy better tickets next time.
We used our SSE rewards and it made life considerably easier. Skip the massive queues, own private area for food and drink. Really great.
The venue itself is really good, absolutely huge. The view from high up is clear but it's quite a bit away from the main stage. Would try to get first tied up or sitting on the main floor.
Great venue.
Staff wasn't very accommodating winch I seen with any diff abilities yous say u have a wide range that u have to on offer but I.found it staff.to very rude and felt very uncomfrtable to ask for help not much help to find our selector we meant to be queuing we did que in 3 different ques the staff un help unfull and rude
Performance was fabulous! Thoroughly enjoyed that! Unfortunately the rest of the night was pretty awful. Despite turning up early we were greated with a queue that took over 40mins. The concert thus started late. It was very frustrating queuing and seeing yhe stewards letting people blatantly skip ahead. There is no shelter outside so you get soaked through while waiting. Once inside it can be pretty confusing and found it difficult to find help. Bar was overpriced, downstairs wasn't too bad. For some reason though upstairs is the same price and smaller bottles (of cider) food was okay wasn't the nicest. I'm an average height person and weight but even I found the seats don't leave you much room. It's a pretty tight squeeze. While your view is good remember binoculars as you're so far up and back I felt like the roof was going to come off and I was going to be abducted by aliens.
Queuing at the bar was ludicrous, it wasn't even a big que 15-20 max people that took 20mins to serve. Toilet facilities were actually really good, very clean well sign posted and plenty of them.
When leaving here if driving well don't. Takes about 30 mins to get out of the multi story as friends discovered. Park instead over near the exhibition centre station, or get the train. Access is pretty great from glasgow as train is very handy.
Floor staff were friendly, security was good, bar staff were shirt staffed and overworked.
Went to see twenty one pilots at the hydro a week. Can't fault the staff INSIDE the venue, or the band itself (the concert was amazing). However, it took us nearly 2 hours to get into the venue, there was only 2 doors and 3 security staff for standing tickets and the rest was for seating which is a bit of a shambles. Queues outside were dreadful, no staff knew what was going on, and we kept being directed to different queues that lead the nowehere!!! Security outside told us my boyfriend's bag would be fine to get into the venue, got to the door and the security staff there said that he wouldn't be allowed in with it and had to go to the cloackroom at the SEC centre!!! This was at 7:45 and the headliners started at 8??? Honestly it was a complete and utter shambles, and reconfirmed to me why the Hydro is possibly the worst organised venue in Glasgow!!!
Great place for gigs been four times now . Recent one Lewis Capaldi
Awesome venue! No matter where you sit you get a great experience. Seen many events here and love visiting everytime!
Chemical Brothers.....banging! Great set, great atmosphere. Would have been 5 star if not for the shambles of queueing for over an hour to get in.
Great venue had a fantastic time see panic at the disco would recommend
The best place for gigs, love it anytime I'm there.
Great venue for a gig. The sound quality is outstanding.
As a venue it's ok but the car park next door is a nightmare to get out of.
