The Squire Tarbox Inn is truly a dream! We were fortunate enough to book them for our wedding in June 2019. Lisa (inn owner), Jessica (event coordinator), and Tyler (innkeeper) were amazing to work with! They made our big day absolutely magical. TLDR: HAVE YOUR WEDDING HERE! The Squire Tarbox Inn is fantastic and we can't recommend them highly enough.

The people are what make weddings, and their staff are phenomenal. Jessica was able to help us figure out all the little details that we didn't realize we'd need to sort out before the big day. Her calm, effective nature is perfect for ensuring the success of a wedding. Lisa was so much fun to work with! Her enthusiasm and hospitality made our wedding preparations a blast! Tyler, wow. This guy. He was so accommodating and also so much fun! He was able to anticipate all of our needs, and his thoughtful nature made us feel really special. By the end of our wedding weekend, he felt like one of the family. They took such great care of all of us, our guests, and the wedding party!

The grounds are stunning. We had our wedding ceremony behind the inn in the field by the pond. It was the ideal spot for our ~130 guest ceremony! The barn was perfect for the reception. The barn deck is ideal for happy hour and visiting with guests, and the barn interior (especially the gorgeous timber-frame construction and chandeliers) quintessentially embodies the rustic Maine wedding style.

Our reception was SO MUCH FUN!!! The Thistle Inn catered our wedding, and I can't put into words how amazing they are!! The food, bar service, and their staff were outstanding. After cake cutting, we had dancing in the barn, and it was the most fun night of my life.

Many of our wedding party from out of town, and my husband and I, stayed overnight at the Squire Tarbox Inn on our wedding night! The inn's rooms were phenomenal. We all really needed a good night sleep after the wild wedding preparations, and we found it here. The inn was even gracious enough to let my bridesmaids place some simple decorations and personal touches in the room my husband and I stayed in to add to the "bridal suite" atmosphere. This made our night extra special, and made us feel so loved!!!

The morning after the wedding - we were all pretty exhausted. But the Inn staff thought of everything so we could have a leisurely morning to wake up, relax, and enjoy an amazing breakfast. Yeah - the breakfast.... WAS UNBELIEVABLY DELICIOUS. Like TOP 3 breakfasts I have EVER eaten. Some context: I am a cook, I have worked in restaurants and catering, and the culinary arts are my favorite pastime. I have been trying to recreate their egg casserole, and can't even come close to the masterpiece they served us.

If we could do it all again, we would do it many times over, because our wedding was perfect. And the Squire Tarbox Inn (and our caterers the Thistle Inn) made that possible for us. They helped us make our wedding truly our own, and we will be forever grateful <3

My granddaughter chose a perfect place for her wedding. The charm and peacefulness of the setting and the warmth and friendliness of the hosts made this a memorable event. Thank you Squire Tarbox Inn.

We stayed for a whole week and felt super comfortable throughout. The team are super hospitable - both great for chatting and also respecting our space when we needed it. Most importantly, this place isn't just dog-friendly, they're dog people. We're always nervous taking our dog away with us usually, but everyone we met were incredible about our 3rd roommate and that made us all the more comfortable.

The room was spotless when we arrived and SO well furnished - we spent most of the week fantasizing about how we hope our imaginary country pile would look like Squire Tarbox one day

A wonderful corner of the world, well worth visiting.

What an amazing place with amazing service. The rooms are delightful, it s really not that far from town, and the history is so rich. Had an incredible breakfast in the morning and got to say hi to the chubby little goats. I ll be staying here again in the future. What a gem.

This place is remote and beautiful, which is just what we were looking for. The decor is wonderful and our room perfect. I also really enjoyed the interactions with the inn keeper, Elizabeth, and the owner, Lisa. Lisa was kind enough to take our children to collect eggs in the hen house in the morning. Its was such a unique experience for them. We will be back!

Stayed here for a wedding. The rooms were beautiful and clean, the view across the grounds was gorgeous, and the breakfast was delicious! I would happily stay here again!
I would also recommend The Squire Tarbox as a wedding venue. I was a part of the wedding party, and the staff were extremely helpful with setup, during the wedding, and with break-down after. The grounds were meticulously prepared and we had access to everything we needed!

Our stay at Squire Tarbox Inn was exactly what we expected. It was the absolute perfect getaway. The rich history of the inn was charming. They had luxury touches in bedding and linens which was great treat. The inn's interiors were so well thought out and executed. The tranquility of the grounds made it a relaxing get away to unplug and recharge. I'm a huge fan of the old homes, owning a early 1900's house ourselves, we love the naturalness the inn offers. Staff was friendly, attentive and immediately addressed any issues that arose during our stay. We will definitely be back to Maine and this is our number one spot to visit :) Thanks again Jessica for making our stay so increible.

We were there for just a couple of days , but from what we saw it gets top rating. From the moment you drive in you know you are at a peaceful retreat away from everything. The place was beautifully decorated and had the farmhouse charm . The innkeeper, Elizabeth, was very welcoming and helpful. We felt at home and hated to leave. We definitely will be back !

So grateful we found The Squire Tarbox Inn. The stay was a highlight of our New England trip. The atmosphere is lovely and the grab and go chive and cheddar scones with fresh fruit, yogurt, and granola was exceptional.

This place is a real gem. A beautiful and painstaking renovation done to this building with charming rooms that are true to the period but with a modern touch. Stunning grounds only add to the experience. Very different from most Inns in the area (that are typically depressing) the place combines stylish elegant interiors with wonderful service.

Between the comfortable beds, friendly hosts and hostesses, and the amazing organic food you will not want to leave! I have never been so relaxed on a long weekend getaway. My wife insists we go back again! The beds were very comfortable.

So, if you want peace and quiet, beautiful setting, made to order breakfast of farm fresh eggs and bacon, and a fantastic Inn Keeper, this is the place to be. Rates were well worth what you receive. Remote yet still close to everything you want or need. We absolutely will be back. The only negative, our stay had to end.

If you are looking for a magical place in ME, isolated enough to feel like you have complete privacy, but close enough to everything, you must visit the Squire Tarbox Inn. This beautifully restored 1763 farmhouse is a dream. The rooms are all meticulously renovated to have all the modern comforts with a laid back feel. Jessica, the Inn Manager, is amazing and attentive to every deal. She knows a ton about the surrounding area and has a lot of recommendations and contacts for things to do in the area. I can t say enough about the 5 days we spent here! And as a bonus, they have goats, chickens and a trail that takes you down to the most peaceful salt marsh.

We re healthcare workers that had hoped for 4 days of R&R for the first time since the pandemic began. We desperately needed a break but paid >$200 a night to not actually get any rest. The walls are just an illusion. There was such a lack of noise insulation that we should ve just shared one big room with the rest of the guests. We could hear every word spoken, bags being unzippered, footsteps, etc from the rooms adjacent to ours (even with earplugs in and noice cancelling headphones on!). I can t imagine we re the first to complain about the noise, so the inn keepers should address it...better insulation? A white noise machine perhaps? Breakfast was also not as described very meager a ramekin of yogurt with soggy granola and 4 mushy blueberries aside a 2oz cup of OJ. Also, cobwebs in our room, so can t imagine they re doing extensive covid cleaning.
