I visited here to pay for my annual pet registration. Unfortunately, my cat had passed away in the previous year and for some reason the online system would allow me to report the death, but would not remove the pet registration fee for my deceased cat. The staff here were helpful and kind in regards to the situation.
Some animals appear to be not well taken care of, but chances are they just got there. Some volunteers are just so passionate about the animals there and will make sure everything goes smoothly. Other volunteers will just ignore you when you ask a question and yell at animals. Fix those few bad volunteers and it's a 5 star

One of the staff members was rude to another staff member. But overall a really great place. This shelter is a no kill shelter? So I would definitely go here if you found or are looking for a new pet friend.
This is the official animal control agency for Spokane City and County. They house lost, abused, abandoned, and homeless domestic animals, and attempt to place them in adoptive homes.
I like what this organization does however I think that the underhanded comments that the staff makes about other local organization is unprofessional and should not be said in front of pet owners.
I just need to know. WILL I EVER NOT BE ON HOLD? Seriously, everytime that I have had to call scraps I have been on hold for 20-30 minutes at a time each time. It s very frustrating when I m just trying to solve a problem in a timely manor but no one can ever seem to get to me. The service I have received has been just fine but I think that there should really be more representatives taking calls.

I went to adopt a dog day at Parker Subaru, I got one named rocket and he was a really good dog! I had him for about 5 hours, walked him downtown and he was very calm and loved being pet by other people! I took his leash off to go back home. Then I went to put his leash on and he bit my hand. At first I didn t think much of it, maybe frightened by a new home and his surroundings, then I waited 20ish minutes and I went to pet him and he completely ripped off the top layer of my finger. So I called SCRAPS, and they told me that I forgot to sign a paper and they were sending someone out to get the paper. Well, I took the dog to where we were supposed to meet the animal control guy and while we were waiting, rocket was very calm and collected. We were walking him around and petting him and he was behaving very well and calm for a one year old! My girlfriend went to pet him and he bit through her hand, that s when they called me and told me that the volunteer wasn t even supposed to bring the dog to the adopt a pet event in the first place because of biting issues. They animal control guy they sent was very apologetic and very nice to us and got the dog and took him away:(. We called the director of the whole organization and we talked through everything and worked everything out. They were very apologetic and sorry and concerned about our health. The only reason I give it two stars because the dog should NOT, I repeat, SHOULD NOT, have been at that event in the first place. Because of that volunteer and miscommunication to me, I had a bite mark through my wrist where you can see the tendons and the top part of the wrist is swollen, a massive chunk of my middle finger missing and a popped blood vessel, my girl friends wrist is bit up through the muscle, and her brand new car has pee all over it from the dog being grabbed by the animal control guy. Like I said, they were very mature and apologetic, I just wish they didn t put the dog up for adoption in the first place. I hope they do better and fix this from ever happening again to other people.

We bought a really cute cat, but there's only one problem it's soooo sick all it does is sneeze and we have only had it for a day and I feel so bad for the little thing and we paid 80 dollars for it which is allready outrageous I allready paid $80 and now I have to take it to the vet who knows how much that will cost
They had my dog for two days & he came back sick with heavy mucous in his nose... I suppose it's difficult with all those animals in tight quarters for a dog not to get sick?
Very unprofessional company with the communication skills of a toddler. There is no excuse for the lack of professionalism me and my family have experienced over the passed week with SCRAPS. You definitely lost mine and my family's business. And I will tell everyone what kind of business you guys are running.
9 timea out of 10, they're going to waste your time, lie, and constantly going to 'forget' getting back to you, and you still won't get the dog- just to find out the dog is still in the shelter.
Its all about the money to these sick people, not the dogs happiness.

They waited for us to go get money because the only card they don't take is American Express and that is the only card he had, they stayed after hours for 15 minutes, they sent us to the gas station for atm but the gas station didn't have one so then we had to go to the bar, but they stayed and waited so we didn't get charged for another day!

I went to them about my plants, they had something wrong with them. They gave me the answer, so the rosemary is in the garden now and is doing great.
There were so many animals there waiting for homes but there were also a lot of people looking to adopt I want to say thank you to the small amount of staff that there is. They were all working so hard and with a lot of heart. They made the process of bringing a new family member home easy and friendly. Next time we are looking for a fuzz ball we will go there for sure.
Safe haven for strays, I will always adopt from here. Animals are well cared for and volunteers know them well enough to personality match them, fall in love with a new fuzzy friend every time I come here.
They picked up our older dog two houses from ours, we do not know how she got out as we have a fenced yard, they took her to the pet emergency clinic, the vet said to euthanize her, SCRAPS did. Murdered a helpless older dog that was a big part of our family. Hate this place.

My wife and I visit the "prisoners" often. They are truly well cared for in every way. No kill shelter and they get good homes guickly.
I was appalled by the conditions when I went in there looking to adopt a cat. The floors were a mess and the smell was awful. Very nice staff though.
