Excellent place to stock up before any outing, especially fly fishing. They are very well stocked and the customer service is excellent. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable about surrounding waters as well as waters all across the state. Certainly will be a repeat customer.

Decided to invest in a pair of Chacos for exploring area waterfalls and wanted to purchase from a small business. The staff was very knowledgeable, patient, and kind. They had a good selection of several different brands and styles. He also recommended stops we might enjoy while in the area. Although barefoot will always be my preference, the Chacos are a close second. I'd highly recommend them and The Outdoor Experience.

Great kayak rental, very knowledgeable, friendly staff, prices are a touch higher than online but with outdoor stuff it's important to size fit first and it's nice to have the items right away, plus supporting local business.

This is my favorite store in Cookeville. Bikes in the basement and kayaks in the attic (2nd floor but attic sounded better). A wide range of outdoor products, Jackson Kayaks for paddling, Trek bikes for peddling and Chocos for your local wandering. Friendly staff always willing to take the time to assist with expert advice. Store covers your needs from water to trails with some climbing and camping tossed in for good measure. Stop here to outfit yourself before exploring the great outdoors in Tennessee.

This place is awesome. Have only top quality products so u don't have 2 worry about being out camping, hiking, canoeing or anything else & having equipment failure.

Heather and her staff are fantastic! They really know the details of all the gear, and they can give great advice for any sort of outdoor expedition you might encounter, from a quick hike around Cane Creek Park to a mountaineering expedition to the Andes. I know, because they outfitted me for the latter!

I see some people saying that their products are overpriced . I can see where it may look that way to someone who is looking for everyday clothing and shoes. But, these items are made for heavy duty outdoor use, sometimes activity-specific. I bought a pair of Chacos 3 years ago for my child and with the adjustable straps and almost indestructible footbed, she is still wearing them again this year! That breaks down to less than $15 per year of use. I think they have a great selection of items for those of us who see their items as more of an investment than a fashion statement. The staff have always been friendly and helpful and happy to order items, if necessary. I would much rather support local business with ethical products than big chain stores any day. Always check out the back room for sale items!

Outdoor Experience is THE place in Cookeville for your outdoor needs. They are very friendly over there, not to mention the owners host sales events onsite with beer and music. They really make an effort to reach out to the community.

One of the only places in Cookeville to get High Quality Outdoor Gear and it is a Great Place!

Great selection and friendly staff when we first shopped here. After using something that I purchased though, I tried to bring it back to exchange for a larger size less than 24 hours later (with receipt) and they wouldn't exchange it. They don't seem to have a no-return policy, but said since I'd taken the sticker off, they couldn't take it back. So now I'm stuck with a $75 piece of equipment that is just a smidge to short for me.

They have a wide variety of items. They also carry a wide variety of Chaco sandals and Kavu bags. Prices are reasonable!

Tons of great gear and all the quality brands you'd want to use. Something there for every outdoor sport that you'd want to be a part of in the area. Plus kayak and canoe rentals. However, the prices are a bit high for the products. You can find the same gear for cheaper elsewhere.

Hand sanitizer at the front door, mentions of restrictions and friendly signs on front door. Staff wore masks.

My favorite place in Cookeville to pop into for a quick look, usually at the sale rack or the camping or climbing gear. It has a solid selection, especially for beginners. They sell high end clothing and they have a very knowledgeable staff that works hard to help the customer.

Knowledgeable staff and a good selection of hiking gear but they did not have the pack I wanted in my size. They said they could order it for me but I can get it cheaper and faster if I order it myself online

Aside from their great selection of gear for all kinds of sports, they have a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Plus they host events, like backpacking and camping trips, and even have speakers.

The people here were great. We were looking for a hiking backpack for our 8 month old and the guys here were well informed and very helpful. We ended up buying the Osprey Poco AG. This was the best investment I've made recently and I'm so glad I did. Thank-you fellas!!

This place had everything! It was however outside of my "beginners budget" as it was all name brand outdoor equipment. Even so; the pricing was consistent with online pricing comparably.
