Canal Insurance Company Review

Just know that despite this rating saying 1 star, I myself wish I could give them a negative 4 star rating. The people who work here constantly Dodge calls and will never get back to you unless you constantly call to bug them to get their work done. I waited three weeks to get just a quote, only to have them low ball me and not want to replace the soft top on my car that their client ruined with an oem part. These people with constantly try to rip you off and not return your vehicle to full. I hope any businesses going forward avoids this insurance company as your clients will not want to work with them.

Rude, Unprofessional, Canal refused to send my Settlement until I sent them my Title. And come to find out by Tennessee law they shouldn't have taken my title because my car is over ten yrs. Old!!!! These people know nothing. Imbeciles!!!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
I have been calling them for a week straight and all i got was a operator that send me to a phone that no one knows how to answer.
They say they have 24/7 number but all you get is "Our office is closed, we are open Mon to Fri 8 a.m. to 5 p.m." This picture is of their website that says this:

They are only 7/5 and don`t know what a phone is.

Bad company .when it comes to accsident they will drop you and no renew with them. We are good only when we pay them but when it comes to them to pay ...no more bussines. Bad company . Never go there. And the costumer service is unprofessional .They send me a latter saying that they don't wana renew the policy and after a week they got me with a duble the price . The claims department is very unprofessional . Stay away from this company....

I was involved in a accident March 23 of this year. One of there truck drivers hit me. A police officer witnessed the accident thank god because their driver after the accident tried to say I hit him. The claims people dont know what their doing. I had to get the police report they told me the police report doesn't mean anything. I was stunned when they told me this. They said they had to talk to the officer. Its been 2 months now and just because their driver lied I haven't been able to get my van fixed. Stay away from this company they are terrible. Im lucky the officer witnessed the accident. If not I would never get my vehicle fixed. The claims department has idiot's working so beware!!

Canal Insurance are full of scams. These claim adjusters are highly rude and disrespectful. Their drivers who are insured are allowed to recklessly hit and damage other people's property. The employees will dodge you, lie to you and then offer you barely nothing to rectify the situation.

I was in a car accident over a month ago with one of their drivers. The truck driver hit my car from behind and I want my bumper fixed. I spoke with Danielle F. who was polite in the beginning and since then I have had to reach out to her for an update on the claim. It has been a month. If she is taking vacation time and personal time my claim should be given to someone else to handle instead of gathering dust on her desk. Her supervisor Akealah Ivory told me to take my claim to my insurance. She said they cannot go off of a one sided claim which I understand however he took the blame at the scene! She would not allow me to speak to her manager and I do believe I'm back at square one with a broken bumper still. If you do get into an accident with one of their drivers, be ready to fight. Don't expect customer service.

Excellent company to do business with and they premium is reasonable.

if it was for me i would give zero stars. someone hit my car and they have this company. its been a month and no answer. the staff is so unprofessional and rude as hell. stay away from this company

Is a zero rating available? I had my car shipped from FL to VA. The trucker damaged my car and denied it was his fault. I was advised by the broker to file a claim with the trucker's insurer, Canal. It took 8 days for them to get back to me. They then denied the claim as I had signed the bill of lading. The trucker told me he would drive me car away and use it for his personal use if I didn't sign the bill of lading. Since the trucker had no photos (good truckers will take lots of photos at pickup) I figured my claim would be honored. Not with Canal. Stay away!

Awful. Claims department is rough. They play dirty. Just pray someone with canal doesn't hit you because you are in for a long, stressful ride.
