Went to a spa for the first time ever! I enjoyed a lot. The lockers are insufisient though but I had a relaxing day over all. :)

So beautiful in winter with snow and go to the river after being in a steam bath or sauna! Several relaxation areas on the site

Good general experience to relax alone or as a couple, small flat, there are instructions not to talk too much, however certain does not seem to comply. All in all, the view of the river is quite beautiful and the spa experience is relaxing and enjoyable!

Horrible customer service. The personnel is not friendly and barely talk to you. Clearly, they dont make any effort for their returning customers. That in addition to the poor list of services compared to a regular spa.

The installations were OK, but we were harassed by one of the staff member who kept thinking we were talking in silent zone, when in fact my partner and I were only smiling to one another. This ruined our visit..

Lots of space and several baths. The disadvantage is that their maintenance is more difficult. If you go there at a busy time or after 2 p.m., the water becomes dirty (hairs, insects, etc.). That's not really good. There is a small fall, a cave and 2 accesses to the river (one very good, but the second with a metal barrier made quite improvised, safe limit). The bistro has pleasant staff and good food, but there seems to be a lack of investment at this level (limited space, lack of staff, little choice on the menu). Strengths and weaknesses, that's why I give 3 stars.

If you want a spa where most people have their phone, take photos, make videos and talk loudly in the baths it's THE place for you, otherwise go your way!

The location is not bad.. Kinda expensive for the amenties they have. Bring your bathrobe to save some money

At the time of the service why not offer to the young people who supervise the baths to come to warm up by clearing the tables and see maybe take the orders.
The two charming and very dedicated ladies who run the little cafe were obviously overwhelmed. Too bad the sandwiches, the parmentier soup and the apple spill are excellent.

The best spa I have visited in my life! I made 4 different and it's the cleanest and most complete I've visited. I recommend going for a walk in the eucalyptus sauna, I love it! There are however some details that could be reviewed. Firstly, there is a limited amount of space but it is impossible to reserve for access to the baths. If you are not from the region, you have to take a chance to drive 1 hour (Montreal) and maybe get back on board since the spa is often full. You can however be sure to have a place, if you book for a massage (mentality of: we give priority to those who gives us cash since even if spa is full, there is always room but only for those who pay the massages ..). Also, I believe that in 10 visits, there are only 2 times where all facilities were open. There is always a spa, a sauna or a room that is undergoing repair or renovation. 2 times in 6 years .. you should hire a new contractor for your repairs. I advise you to buy your right of access online or to go for a ride in a Canadian tire .. I explain, there is always, at the checkout of the garage, cards for 50% discounts that are valid at all times.

The spa is breathtaking, unfortunately the staff is not friendly at all. Also, they have "hushers" that solely walk around the spa hushing people. Even if you are wispering really low. Makes for a unpleasant experience.

I wanted to give my sister the first spa experience here. I have been to three different spas here in Quebec and have never had such an unpleasant experience. We were told to be quiet in the rooms where we changed. When we headed for the baths, an instructor of maybe 18 years old shouted at us SHHHH when I whispered to my sister that we must be silent in the steam bath. You understand that I have 21 and my sister 24 ... We felt in daycare. We didn't have a chance to go to the steam room because it was too crowded (it was a Tuesday after the holidays). The only hot and clean bath was in the silence zone. He had instructors who supervised the bath and told the world to be quiet (we understand you are on vacation, that's who goes to a spa to be completely silent). We didn't even have a place to sit in the other baths because there were too many people. The baths were very dirty. There were hairs floating everywhere (a first for me). The dry sauna was just too hot, we can't stay there for more than 2 minutes. In short, we asked for a refund for my gift certificates (I understand why there are a lot of specials, they are losing customers). The reception manager was very condescending and rude, although we were respectful. After persisting for a good 10 minutes, she finally decides to give us a refund (I think she did not want to do the job out of laziness). I do not recommend this spa in any way (I would give it a 0 if I could). I have never seen such stupid staff in my life, the baths are very dirty and there are too many people. You may still have a lot of customers with your promotions, but these are all customers who will never return.

Also, stop making passes to your customers. You charged me $ 29 for two bathrobes, two bottles of water and two padlocks while your package # 1 is $ 6 for one of each (6x2 = 12 ...).

Hidden costs that we discover on arrival: padlock, water, towel ... You have to pay for what is provided elsewhere.
The rest areas are very far from the cold baths so relaxation is no longer as effective as you have to walk through the site.

I do not understand that allowed to have a cell in a spa. I thought to be there to relax not to text or listen to video and still in a hot bath taking pictures and all that in front of the staff sense very disappointing probably my last experience at your establishment i want to hear the sound of the river not my neighbor who's kidding

Beautiful place and facilities varied, complete and clean. Sometimes a little too busy.

First and last experience in this spa for me. The place was extremely crowded with people, so much that we did not know where to go, apart from standing in a cold suit. No exchange of towels to pay less, so we were taken between the baths, completely freeze with wet towels to wait for a place to be released. So my partner and I started whispering to find out where we were going to be when everything was full and we were freezing and a very idiotic employee came to scold us because we were talking in a very low voice just to know where to go in this damn spa. So he said to all those who want to whisper (which has a friend who was back to him because she did not hear him being close to the fall "she speaks you French, that the ?!") go to the first bath where it was allowed (no one told us that when you came in, nothing was really told) or we went .... this bath was really tiny, far from everything else. We then headed to the bistro when we could not anymore. The bistro was full, we were made to wait outside telling us that we would pick us up when a place would be free. Nobody ever came to pick us up and we just left. The cloakrooms are very poorly done, the staff is cold and very unwelcoming ... Throughout the spa there are posters talking about the fact that the spa helps fight anxiety and relaxation, but I made a panic attack and I was completely stressed. I do not recommend ...

THE Worst spa experience:

- Beast home, maximum mercantile atmosphere: you must buy plastic bottles (bearing the name of the brand, of course) to be able to drink water on the site, you must rent the bathrobes ($ 23 for two !! ) and towels if you did not bring your own.

-The spa is located between the highway and the road. The outdoor seating areas face the highway and suggest the gentle roar of car and truck engines rather than the expected silence in an establishment whose vocation is rest! Some baths are right next to the parking lot.

-Several closed facilities for repairs: so you will walk in bathrobe and jersey among construction guys coming and going and you will not enjoy all the baths you have yet paid for access.

-Close closets, inadequate sanitary facilities: toilets, showers, washbasin, dryer, benches ... everything is limited.

-The site is not designed to separate guests from those in relaxation mode, result: customers dressed and in jerseys rub shoulders and intersect everywhere.

-The silence is not respected by the customers, the whisper neither.

In short, much too expensive paid. We will not go back.

Disappointing customer experience ...
We arrived in the late afternoon to enjoy 3h at the spa.
When we arrived, the locker rooms were messy (towels everywhere on the floor and on the tellers). When we left, the exact same mess ... No maintenance during our stay.
In addition, we were told on the website that the spa closed at 21h, but at 20:35 employees were already closing the sauna and other facilities ...
It was then that we were told with little calm and delicacy to leave the steam sauna and go to the locker room more than 20 minutes before closing the site.
Pity...
Are a very beautiful place.

Near the Laurentians and 50 minutes drive from Montreal. The highway passing by is not really disturbing. Good access promotions and massages. Average home. Bistro home not so good. Alcoholic beverages are not sold without a plate nearby. You're in a swimsuit but you have to take with you either the cards or the cash to pay. Rather young atmosphere. Access to a river. The jacuzzi jets do not work well. The spaces are pretty and welcoming. Beautiful nature around.

Very nice facilities. This property is definitely worth it and the prices are very interesting. On the other hand, it is necessary to bring certain objects of the house because they are not included (flip flops, dressing gown). I highly recommend.

Very bad experience and bad customer service. Do not buy the nature trail, it's a scam! We had bought a package nature a few months ago and my friend had lost his card (small cardboard punched paper). We had the answer that it was impossible to remake one, on the pretext that they could not verify how many visits she made with the card in the computer system. Welcome to 2018. They added that we had been informed during the purchase and that it was written on the card, which is false since it was not indicated on my card and it was not mentioned at all during of my purchase on the internet. Even with the proof that it was not written on my card, we were told that they changed the card a short time ago. Despite everything, no card replacement.

It's been 5 years that I always go to this spa ... Unfortunately today really not a good experiences. People did not respect areas of silence and there was no staff to tell people to lower the pitch in the whisper zone. I liked this spa ... Too bad I would probably go more or less often

Layout is awkward, must pass through the relaxation area to get to the cold from the hot. Too many disrespectful people talking. Not many comfortable relaxation areas. Wasn't relaxing for me.

Dishonesty of the staff, having forgotten my swimsuit, I communicate with the reception to see if it is found, suppose to call me back the next day, no call the next day, I call them back to ask them if there is one found, there tell me that they will call me back after talking to the person I spoke to the day before, the person quickly reminds me to tell me that he had found my gray 3/4 columbia jersey I was happy that it was not a client who had found her, I ask her if it is possible to give it to me, she tells me that it is not possible, ok I told her to put it aside for me, that I will come and collect it in the next 2 weeks, my boy was going to pick it up, they no longer have it, I call them back he tells me that they will call me back the next day, no answer, I call back but it was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, I call back later and he tells me that they no longer have the jersey, very strange, it is volatilized or stolen. Lose its name for a jersey. P.s. Apart from this mishap, the day had been perfect for everything else ...

Very nice place, with the river WOW. The only thing that bothered me and my wife was that there does not seem to be a chair or we could lie down. Just good Canadian 'right' chairs. I would have liked to be able to make a small site more conformably. Otherwise it was really great ... Bravo!

Very nice location, however i couldn t find a lounge area that had mini beds to lay down and relax. They have chairs or couches but not actually lounging beds. Also, some of the people that go there don t really respect the silence policy and that can be disturbing if your there to relax. A part from that, me and my boyfriend really enjoyed this spa! Would recommend

What a BEAUTIFUL experience at Polar Bears !!! The visit begins with 30 mins at the reception. We were lucky we were going to miss our massage. Staff not at all respectful. No one in the tub with us and 3 members of staff who pretend to clean to catch us talking even when we are each separate from the other. A staff member spying on from afar if we're going to keep talking while everywhere else at the spa everyone is chatting.

The sunset by the river is undoubtedly to be seen and savored. The diversity of equipment is appreciated. Everything is calm or discretion is required and is respected. Go there after 6pm the price drops and the attendance too. If something had to be said, it would be the lack of lighting on the side of the road to reach the upper car parks, which makes the operation dangerous .... For the rest: we recommend ;-)

The place is lovely, it is a really nice place to go and relax. The food is extremely delicious It is a great experience, but all the employees are very rude. The women at the reception acted like huge hypocrites, the other employees would speak very rudely to us, especially the cook. The clientele service is definitely something they should all work on. we drove for a long time to have a good time and we were treated very badly.

The bistro has no vegan choice, not even milk-free drinks !!! In addition the service is average

I really like this place. On the other hand, the parking lots are very small and despite being told that we don't need to book, we have to do it especially for men. I think men have a little locker room. But otherwise the place is very clean and quiet.

Clean place and well maintained. Confusing to get around however, no English signs anywhere inside the areas. Tourists have a hard time navigating through the different areas, they are all in french. Many places to relax and a good variety of saunas, hot baths and cold baths.

First time there. Loved it. Eucalyptus room was under renovations so will be back to experience that!!! Love going from Sauna to River...

Extremely disappointed. I had a massage because I had some tension in the back and the next day I have a worse pain than before in the lower back. Why pay a massage to get out of there in worse condition than when I arrived. I have already done 4-5 other spa treatments and this has never happened before.

Polar Bear to avoid for massages.

What an amazing place! As the oldest spa in Quebec, it has both character and unique experience! The river is so clean and the rushing water falls and rapids make for a unique background to their impeccable site. The staff is wonderful and always ready to help. They have the largest number of hot and cold pools I have yet seen (7 in total), and three saunas. One of these saunas is heated by wood, and is the original sauna dating back over 50 years! its an incredible experience and only 45 minutes from Montreal. A must for everyone.

Beautiful place. Very close to the highway, but most of the entities are placed at a lower river bank, so the passing cars can not be heard at all.

A real spa, you feel authenticity. Nice view of the river and easy to access with the 15nord next door.

Went to the spa on a Thursday. Pools and baths were nice, relaxing rooms had no one in them however the change rooms and chairs were very busy. There are signs everywhere that say silence but people continue to talk and it is not enforced. There are also signs to not reserve the chairs which was also not enforced and I wasn t able to find one to use. Both frustrating.

The location is right next to a very busy highway. They do their best to mask the noise, but can still hear it quite loud.

I received both a massage and facial which I thought were enjoyable.

Inadequate massage therapy services yet having repeated twice rather than one at the receptionist the type of massage therapist and massage that I needed. no hot water in the showers of the 2nd locker room, no sign to indicate it. After a polite email of annoyance, I only received an apology email. Very nice but it's not worth the $ 160 pay in butter for shoulder flaytage for 60 min. not to mention gasoline to get there from mtl. The site was crowded with people, it seems that they do not limit their customers because of the Covid. Very disapointed. I advise against.

If you are a millennial that needs your phone in a hot tub or like to text your friends in the relaxation room then this is your spot. Way too many cell phones and way too much talking. Way too many people (it was during holiday) allowed in. The most unrelaxing spa. Only one person got stopped for taking group photo in the tubs but the phones appear to be allowed. Bistro has great food but way too small. The lockers are way too small. No added touches like plastic bags for bathing suit or creams or anything special in this spa.

If you don't like going up stairs, this is not the place for you. The places to make hot / cold are distant, which I like less.

Nice day at Polar Bear. Beautiful site. A little flat for my taste. Bistro ok. Pedicure too expensive for the quality received.

The facilities are good and clean, small cloakroom, plus brought your cadana, towel, bathrobe, water, nothing.

The location is great, the river is at our feet! This is my favorite spa!

Parking is abysmal, but once that's cleared the experience is more than decent.

Some touches around the installations are rough-looking like the cave and waterfall in one of the hot baths, and with enough concentration one can see a highway from afar, but road noise, or any noise, isn't ever a problem. Less restrictive than other locations concerning whispering; make of that what you will. Has a great selection of saunas and spas, but no "new-weird-exotic" things i.e. a cold/ice room. Good place to get a membership in my opinion.

Wish staff would tell everyone to stay silent. Sometime I felt I'm in a ghetto movie theater

Terrible services. Rooms out of date and lacking amenities. Really falls behind the other spas in the region. Very disappointed with our stay. Would not recommend or go back.

We enjoyed the moments of relaxation. Not far from Montreal. The highway which passes not far is always in the middle of your field of vision ... and that is less pleasant.

Here is a nice nordic spa near montreal, the ambiance and decor was good. It is constructed around the river and when you are in the thermal baths you have nice view of jungle and mountain in front of you. The staff are very nice and welcoming. Would definitely go back to this place.

Second time visiting the Polar Bear s club spa. Was disappointed today I must say! The spa is very close to the road and highway noise is heard in the baths.

There was no hair conditioner and only one soap was available for both hair and body. Hair dryers were not working well! And it took a long time to dry my hair.

There are only 3 showers available and a long wait times.

I was charged $10 extra for therapeutic massage but got a receipt with the real amount ($10 was not shown in the price). I wasn t impressed with the quality of the massage either.

I think it is better to choose relaxing massage rather than therapeutic. Thought maybe because people go there mainly for relaxation and that is why therapeutic massages is not really therapeutic!

Other than that, it is a nice way to spend a relaxing day!

Be sure to bring bathing suit, I somehow forgot to pack it although I thought I did and had to buy one at the Spa for $80! there was only one sports model and no other options.

The proximity of the highway and the rather ordinary friendliness of the staff push me to give only 3 stars to Polar Bear's Club. Especially since I discovered La Source Nordic Baths in Rawdon.
