The lifesaving medicine I need is marked as "specialy" even though it is also marked as formulary 1 generic in SouthernScriprs system. Every medical professional and pharmacist agrees that this is insane. Stay away from this company if at all possible!

All I can say is WOW! They are not lying when they say that they "keep it simple". I knew exactly what I was paying without any complexities. Southern Scripts takes transparency seriously. Highly recommend their services to all employers. #graphicallyinclined #southernscripts
I have never had more trouble with getting PA s approved than I have had with the company. My husband and I both have to follow up, call them, our doctor and the pharmacy every single time. The customer service people are nice but the company itself has been a huge pain to work with. We both are on medication for condition we have had for years and is ongoing and to every single time jump through hoops to get medicine approved that has been approved before is exhausting and utterly frustrating.
worse insurance I ever had.. seems that they only cover generic prescriptions. I've been trying to pick up my prescription that my doctor sent to the pharmacy, but cant get it, because they are saying " they need an approval from the doctor" AFTER my doctor sent the prescription to the pharmacy. never had this issue with any other insurances.
Terrible company. I have been taking this medication for over 13 years now and have never had such a difficult time getting my prescription. It was so bad this time that I ended up paying $330 out of pocket to avoid dealing with this company after spending countless hours on the phone with various representatives for over 2 weeks. Each representative I spoke with told me something completely different. At one point I was told everything was in process and I would be able to get my prescription later that day (a week and a half ago at this point). Another representative told me I needed a letter of medical necessity despite my provider already sending a prior authorization. She told me this was something in addition to the prior authorization (despite it having the same info?) while another representative told me it was the same thing. I then received a letter from the company saying a prior authorization was not required for my medication. When I called back about to inquire about this I was told to ignore the letter and that it was wrong. After a week of calls, I ran out of my prescription and was forced to pay out of pocket. While it was expensive I wish I would have done it earlier to avoid all the time I had wasted on the phone and time spent believing that it would be ready soon. I still have no idea what is going on with my prescription at this point since I have been told so many different things by each representative. What I do know is that this company will make false promises to follow up and lie repeatedly about when your prescription will be ready. Unbelievable how difficult it was to attempt to get a routine medication. Going forward I will continue to pay out of pocket to avoid dealing with this company and I will be contacting my HR department to add to the many complaints about their service. I can only hope that my company will switch providers soon.
Unfortunately I have had several issues with Southern Scripts and their reliability. I receive montly a Rx from them monthly and in the last 18 months on several times they received my refill request, told me they'd send it out the next day and then nothing ever arrived. I have to call, wait on hold, and then discover that they can't explain why it wasn't filled but they'd do it for tomorrow. Twice in 18 months they told me they'd ship a specific day and then shipped early or later than planned with no notice. Both times I was not home to receive the medication which had to be kept refridgerated. Lastly, one time they only partly filled an order and gave no information on when the remainder would ship or called to ask when I'd be home to receive it. Again, I was out of town for work and had to jump through several hoops to find a friend to go to my house and wait to receive it because "it is already shipped, sorry." Customer Service and reliability has been a real struggle for me.
Not happy with being made to use a mail service for my medicine. Have 3 rxs that they won't let my in town pharmacy fill. So I've had to stop taking them.
My daughter is on Accutane since December 2020. In early 2021 SS decided you need a pre auth, but when the pharmacy attempts to fill they get responses not relevant at all. After several tries phone calls to SS from pharmacy and myself still not told Accutane needs a pre auth. I contact my employer with everything I did , that's who informed me I needed a pre auth. The pre auth was waived until summer. So here we go again Dr send rx to pharmacy on July 7th. July 8th I call pharmacy, per SS it's to early to fill, last fill was June12. So I play their game. July 12th call pharmacy now SS states exceeded limitation of plan. So I call SS after 25 min I am finally told a pre auth is needed. Issue instead of answering pharmacy with whatever they fell like answering tell the truth. I won't even get into my HUMIRA issues w SS and CVS specialty that a 6 week approval problem.
