Amazing time for 8 middle schoolers on retreat..cant say how much it meant to them!!
What an amazing experience! A sea lion, king fishers, seals and a humpback got pretty close! The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. There is a 15 year old man who works there and went and has such a great personality and so much patience for me getting pics and losing my petal. Thanks!
The staff is awesome. Everybody was engaging, professional and had a great sense of humor. Standouts were Jasper, Forest, Jared and Ren. Their energy is contagious. Its hard not to smile when we were with these people. If give 6 starsbut the scale stopped me at 5.
First time zip lining and it was a lot of fun; would go back again in a second to do some more advanced zip lines and obstacle courses and/or spend a longer time there. Megan & Sydney were great guides/instructors. The only thing I would change would be to get at least one video actually showing me zip lining (versus the video that was taken from my helmet cam, which shows everything from my point of view, but which never actually shows ME!)
Absolutely perfect day on the water in August.
My wife was pretty nervous and was sure she was going to get wet / fall out / tip over. Nothing remotely close. The kayaks were extremely stable and our guides, Rainy and Hannah, made sure everyone was safely boarded.
I took my camera and was able to get lots of terrific pictures.
They were very informative and instructive, while allowing us to paddle and explore the area somewhat freely.
They were very patient and helpful. My uncle and daughter seemed to have problems steering and Hannah paddled after them and got them back on course. (Hint: make sure you get your rudder pedals adjusted correctly)
We saw eagles and seals.
Wish I could have spent a whole day (or 2) here.
Our guide Grace did a fantastic job! She took the time to explain everything and point out several bald eagles, starfish, a sea lion and a moon jellyfish. The group was small so we were all able to easily stick together and hear explanations from her. We had a great time and I would highly recommend kayaking with Southeast Exposure!
Went on the Sea Kayaking adventure on Aug 23 with Southeast Exposure. Nate and Aubrey helped us dress for this and took us on a great adventure. Even on a windy rainy day, Alaska is beautiful! I want to go again!
Really enjoyed the kayaking around Eagle Island. We saw sea lions Eagles and cove of harbor seals. Weather was very nice. Staff were very helpful, friendly and informative.
My wife and I did the zip lining and had a fantastic time! Our tour guides were fun and professional. They ensured we were safe and comfortable with everything that was happening. Abby picked us up at the dock and drove us to the zip lining course. She was extremely knowledgeable about Ketchikan. It made the excursion more enjoyable. I strongly recommend this excursion for anyone wanting some fun in Ketchikan.
The zip line there in Ketchikan went very well. The zips lines were not too long nor too big. The "challenge course" was nothing. It was short, we only went on about 7 or 10 zip lines. We had 2 very fun, nice, and enjoyable guides named Nate & Arizona, (yes her name is really Arizona). They talked to us the whole time & were just as excited as us to be in Alaska. The place where you zip line is very nice, up in the trees and right next to the ocean shore.
Good place to do zipline with 11 lines depending on how big or small the groups are, and kayaking, providing you with the complete gear and with place for storing your things.
We sea kayaked and saw a whale, eagles, sea lions and harbor seals!
Went zip lining today it was amazing! So beautiful and exhilarating. Zip lining under the tree canopy and over the ocean was spectacular. Our guides Jackson and Arizona made our experience all the more exciting. If you are ever in Ketchikan this is a must do.
Outstanding sea kayak excursion. Highly recommended.
Did a zipline adventure with Dan and Aubrey. Had a wonderful time. They both were very safety conscious and made sure everyone was having a good time. There was no pressure to do anything we didn't want to. The course was not hard but just thrilling enough make it feel like an adventure. Would do it again.
We had a great time kyaking with the team from Southeast Exposure. They were friendly and professional.
We went out with Trevin, and he was amazing at teaching us to drive the boats, and THEN, he got us EXACTLY where the whales came up out of the water! The whales were 20 feet from us, and were majestic. He made sure we were outfitted in warm/waterproof clothes, and did an overall fantastic job! Would highly recommend, and would go back if we were ever in that area again!
Ziplined with Jake and Lowell at Southeast Exposure. The wife and I had a great time, and felt safe the entire time. Lowel and Jake were great hosts and very patient with the more nervous adults.
beautiful experience, we learned a lot about nature, they met sea lions, seals, eagles from north america all while kayaking ... we also had a great guide and a nice final snack
Have an excellent time with Jake and Peter, they were very friendly and gave each and every person the confidence to do all the zip lines.
A special thanks to the Southeast Exposure crew Zip Line in Ketchikan Alaska. Especially Rainy and Arizona our guides. They made the experience a memorable one we will never forget. It was my wife's first zip line experience. Rainy and Arizona were patience, caring and professional. Each zip was made comfortable and assuring. Their time and patience lead to a great trip. Thank you Rainy and Arizona.
Excellent sea kayak experience. We went out in the rain and saw humpback whales, sea lions and bald eagles. The equipment was in great shape and the guides were friendly and knowledgeable.
My husband, teenage daughter and I had a magical time with our guides Megan, Tyler, and Grace. They were excellent in preparing us for the kayaking. Very patient, informative, and kind. The kayaking was magnificent. Each of them were excellent guides showing us wildlife and providing an awesome experience. We saw a family of eagles and lots of harbor seals. It was a perfect way to see all that Alaska offers. We highly recommend!
Disclaimer, I don't like heights! That being said I was not about to miss sharing this experience with my family. After the safety orientation we climbed the tower and were off. Could not have asked for better guides than Sasha and Rainy! They were both well trained and all about safety. They took the time to interact with us and give us pointers along the way. The lines are a little short per my sons, but there are lots of them and the last two over the water are great! By the end I wanted to go again! If you get a chance go you'll have a blast!
This was my redemption tour....(bucket list) it was beautiful day the water was gorgeous! Nate our guide was wonderful he had lots knowledge from plants, wildlife, birds and marine life. I highly recommend this tour.
Excellent sea kayaking excursion--beautiful, scenic, quiet location. Saw bald eagle nest, seals, sea lions, starfish.
Had an awesome time with guides Jared and Jackson for ziplining. I am typically afraid of heights but was determined to do this. These two kept it light and fun and by the end, I was ready to go again.
Great sea kayak tour! My feet didn't even get wet. Saw tons of wildlife.
We did the kayak adventure and really had a great time. We saw so much wildlife up close which was pretty awesome. Our guides, Sophie and Jerry were fun to spend half a day with. They each had unique things to offer and say and truly made the experience very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend the kayak tour to anyone going to this area. Very fun!
Weather was pretty decent. You are pretty much left on your own with no real instructions or anyone telling you about the area.
We did the Zip line in June. Sasha and Greg were amazing guides. They made the experience a great adventure. One that we will always remember.
Our Tatoosh Islands Sea Kayaking tour was amazing. We had a splendid day and saw Orcas en route to the island where the kayaks were. We saw eagles, star fish, a deer, sea cucumber, and sea urchin. Captain Tim, Jackson, Jerrod and Raine were a great group to spend the day with and the chocolate chip cookies were wonderful!
Andie and Greg are the BEST kayak guides I have ever had! Kept the group together FUN and SAFE! Saw neat stuff, got a workout, and will never forget this one. These guys/gals are REAL people! SOOO COOL!
We had Jake and Jay as our guides. They were really nice and funny, they topped of the trip as the best zip adventure ever. The course was really cool and I would definitely go back if I could. The zip lines were definitely the best part. They were fun so you could lay back and relax. We had fun teasing each other on the other parts of the course by bouncing and making jokes. When Jake and Jay explained how to be safe, they gave very clear instructions and made sure we were doing everything right! Greet trip overall.
great kayaking trip! Lots of fun kayaking; of course no guarantees for sea life, however saw sea lions, eagles, starfish, etc. guides were very friendly and provided a lot of information regarding sea life and life in general in Ketchikan. As an experienced kayaker, I felt it was very fun and enjoyed it! Well worth the money!
Did a great job with our kayaking trip to Tatoosh Islands. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, but would recommend having some kayaking experience for the Tatoosh Island trip.
It's one thing when a company is built on taking care of people who are visiting Ketchikan on a cruise ship, but it really says something about a company when it goes the extra mile to take care of the locals and make us feel just as special. The friendly and enthusiastic staff at SE Exposure took amazing care of our girl scout troop getting everyone equipped and ready for our Sunday afternoon kayaking adventure. Thank you SE Exposure for giving back to the youth in Ketchikan and making this an extra-special place to live!
Beautiful zip line course and super friendly staff! Such a cool place to go zip lining and take in the incredible views.
GREAT TIME!!! Had a lot of fun in the adventure park. The guides were really fun and knowledgeable. The park was well laid out and all the lines were smooth and fast. Highly recommend.
Awesome ziplining experience. Never thought I'd do it but Tyler and Arizona made it fun
Kate and Abby were awesome! Walked us through all the safety stuff so that when we dropped off the 70 ft platform we would be prepared. Did about a total of 10 zips with the grand finale of going into a platform on the bay, so amazing.
Lovely morning on the water! The guides were spectacular, especially Ella, and we saw a crazy amount of wildlife. A great tour
My hubby and I went to SE during a recent cruise stop and I wanted to give props to Sophie, Rainy and Trevin our guides. A group of a dozen people set out on kayaks and prior to departure they made sure everyone was equipped and prepared including a bathroom break and waterproof jacket. June is lovely but showers are a constant possibility. Our guides took us along a rocky shoreline where we saw all kinds of starfish and jellyfish. We also crossed the channel to Eagle Island where we were able to see an eagle nest with babies in it high up in a tree. After paddling around the island we went to a cove in the hopes of seeing sea lions or seals but they weren't out (wildlife goes by it's own schedule :) Trevin took some great photos for us to remember our trip and then the guides carefully guided us back across the channel to the dock. From beginning to end they made me feel safe on this excursion and I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to be active while on vacation. I even got to see a mink running down the dock! SE offers other activities such as zip lining which I'd like to try next time along with a different paddling adventure.
Jared and Stacy were our guides for the Tatoosh Islands Kayaking Tour. They were awesome! Fun, knowledgeable, and flexible with what the group wanted to do. We saw bald eagles, a whale, and a large variety of tide pool life.
My first ever zip lining experience and I was more than just nervous! Peter and Aubrey did a great job relieving my anxiety. It was still hard to step off a platform with nothing but the ground below me. Best part was zipping onto and off the platform out in the water - even in the pouring rain. I would highly recommend this and can t wait to go ziplining again!!
So much fun with our guides Jake and Nanani ! Thanks again !
Great experince! Guides are extremely knowledgeable and experienced! Was my first time and they were patient and extremely helpful! Small groups and in a great location!
It's ok. If you do go "zipping" like I did read this first. 1. When they say they have a "Challenge Course", (It's not). 2. You can't do anything by yourself. 3. You are always waiting for the person in front of you to finish. 4. It's short. 5. If you finish the entire course and you still have time they won't give you all of that time.
Awesome Adventure!!!! The zip line tour was a BLAST! I went with my wife and her family and we all had a great time (ages 20 - 50ish)! Ren and Abby made the whole experience fun from start to finish. They were both super interactive with everyone in our group. They took the time to get to know our names and answered my endless questions about life in Alaska! These folks are professionals. Tip them well! Side note.... I lost my sunglasses during the tour and was super bummed when I realized they were gone. Ren found them after we left and they were back in NC within the week. GOOD PEOPLE! Thanks again! ~Matt
Pure Alaskan physical adventure & family friendly;)!!
Let me begin by saying that I wasn't really too keen on going zip lining. I have a fear of heights problem (it's really a suddenly slamming into the ground problem but why quibble) that I was pretty sure would ruin any such experience. However, my wife booked it so off we went problems or not.
By the end of the day, I had the best time! I really enjoyed the whole zip line experience immensely. Special kudos to Jackson Davis and Arizona who succeeded, in a good natured way, to convince me that stepping off of a perfectly nice safe platform 65 feet in the air wouldn't result in a quick and howling trip into the dirt. One more item on the bucket list checked off :)
If you are doing the Alaska tour/cruise thing and you want an experience that will really leave a lasting and fun memory, give Southeast Exposure a call. Good stuff!
We used Jared for a Water Taxi to get to our lodge. Wewere socked into Ketchikan and out float plane could not fly. We called Jared and he hooked us up for a better price and a much better experience than a float plane ride. He was incredible proffessional and has great boats for a ride. We were so Grateful Jared answered the phone and was so willing to help us out in a tight spot. GREAT Job Jared, we so appreciate you, you got our trip started off great. Thank you.
Maddie and Kinani were our guides for our first time zipline experience. They were fantastic, and we had a blast. They were patient, entertaining, and very proficient. We highly recommend Southeast Exposure to everyone.
Amazing! All the staff were awesome! The trip was awesome, the scenery was beautiful. I would recommend this outfit if you are looking for a great kayaking adventure!
Tim and Greg were awesome! We did the Tatoosh Island kayak trip and had a great time. We saw tons of eagles, starfish, a few seals, and a couple of sea otters just to mention a few. The staff was efficient and really down to earth. Even if you have never paddled before this would be a good trip for you. It is not at all strenuous and is a good fit for most fitness levels.
Visited Southeast Exposure in the summer and the crew there really made the experience so much fun, even for those of us that were fearful and needed a little extra encouragement to get through. ;-) Thanks for the energy and intense enthusiasm ya'll!
Hi, this was my very first time zip lining and this place was amazing, the staff (Jared, Peter and Arizona) were very patient with me too. I would go back again in a heartbeat and yes do the challenge course too, I felt the first time but Jared got me right back up and I finished all 3. This was very exhilarating and most definitely will give it 5 stars a great experience and very well worth it. :)
Just a great experience in a beautiful setting. The zipline course was well laid out with some challenging obstacles laced in between. The crew were professional and really helped make us comfortable in use of the apparatus and maximizing enjoyment of each of the lines. Recommend SE even if your in Ketchikan for a half day.
I was able to spend several days at Southeast Exposure and enjoy several of the awesome tours. The Eagle Island Kayaking was a wonderful first-time kayaking experience. The ocean was so calm and it was great to see eagles, seals, and other sealife. Rainy and Autumn were awesome guides, helping us to learn more about the Ketchikan area.
The Tatoosh Island tour, led by Trevin and Sasha, was longer and also great. Both guides really knew a lot about the area and animals. Trevin let us hold a (harmless) jellyfish and showed us how to "play" a bull kelp! (Brass players have the advantage.) Sasha helped us to see an immature bald eagle on the ground, that flew off just above our kayaks!
The zip line course was awesome. Nothing like flying through the old-growth rainforest trees! Rainy and Grace helped us feel confident in our aerial experience. There were a few optional challenge bridges that were a little scary at first but ended up being really fun. Zooming over the ocean was incredible and the last zip had some additional bounce.
The boatman tour, guided by Rainy was fantastic. Part of the fun was zooming around in the little zodiac boats and seeing awesome sights, but another incredible experience was quietly observing a dall porpoise. As we watched this lovely creature, Rainy brought out some hot cocoa and freshly baked cookies which was the icing on the cake of a great trip. Betsy, Jared, and KT really know how to take care of their guests and give us a fantastic time! Thanks, Southeast Exposure!!!
Best excursion on our Inside Passage cruise... The start of the Humpback migration afforded us the chance to get up close and personal while they were Bubble Net feeding!
The guides were very knowledgeable and patient. The lines were excellent.
Sea Kayaking from this outfit was amazing. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable and the adventure is well worth the rain.
Arizona & Trevin were absolutely great, best time you could have hanging out in trees!
Friendly, professional team. Enjoyed the Zodiac boat exursion.
We took an Alaskan cruise recently, and one of our stops was Ketchikan. We found ourselves adding the sea kayaking trip from Southeast Exposure. So very glad we did. A special thanks to Abby and Autumn for making our day a memorable one. Their patience, experience, knowledge of the kayaks and surrounding areas in which we visited made the trip perfect. If we ever go back to Ketchikan we will use Southeast Exposure for all our adventure needs. Fun for all skill levels, would recommend to all.
We enjoyed some cruise ship relief by renting bikes from Southeast Exposure to see Ketchikan. Fantastic bikes. No fuss rental. Made our day ashore great! Thanks Southeast Exposure :)
